Such a great idea by Ted to begin airing programs five minutes later, at :05 and :35 minutes past the hour. Who could forget Tony telling people to turn it at 6:05 on Saturdays. I'm sure if you asked wrestling fans in the south they could tell what 6:05 meant

I remember it from the TBS NASCAR broadcasts from the same time period, and from various other things like reruns of AFV and the Disaster Area cartoon block. It definitely made TBS stand out and I'm trying to remember when they stopped, but it had to be around 2000ish.

God I miss old school TBS. I think Turner time ended when TBS was almost finished in its evolution from being Superstation WTBS, an Atlanta independent station to TBS, just another cable channel. I think the only time they didn't have Turner Time was for Braves and Hawks games and some college sports, so they had to eat some of the ad time for the shows airing before them.

No, I remember the Braves would come on at 7:05CT if they had a game during the week. They would do the College Football Scoreboard at the bottom of an hour.

Yet for some reason (at least in the early 90's) I recall WCW Main Event on Sunday nights ending at 7PM.
And yes, first pitch for Braves home games would be 10/40 after the hour.

Because of this, I think I have seen the last 5 minutes of every Andy Griffith Show ever before watching WCW Saturday Night & Main Event.

Because of this, I think I have seen the last 5 minutes of every Andy Griffith Show ever before watching WCW Saturday Night & Main Event. It was Bonanza for me with the Saturday morning shows. Always interesting was asking a family member to record a program for me. I would say it comes on at 6:05 or so and they would be quite confused, citing that programs come on every hour or half hour and thinking I was a silly kid who didn't know tv programming times. I'd explain how "this is wrestling, this is special" etc...

The Muthersheep took off 6:05 every week, daddy! Unless there was a Braves game.
What happened to Center Stage anyway?
If it is, I would love if NXT did a Takeover in Atlanta from there and it starts at 6:05pm on a Saturday Night.

I saw The Wombats there a few years ago. centerstage-atlanta.comIf/When they come to Atlanta, I see them going to either The Tabernacle or the Gwinnett Center - the arena, not the ballroom ROH is using.

What did they do this on their channel? so people will miss the shows on other channel that started at a regular time? The biggest reason was after Ted Turner bought what became WTBS, he wanted it to stand out. One way was for it to be alone and eye catching in the TV Guide and the calendar section. You had all the channels at 3:00 and 3:30 bunched up, and then their was WTBS, all alone at 3:05 and 3:35. It stuck out and grabbed peoples attention to it, which wouldn't have happened if it had the same start time as all the other stations.
