PowerPro Wrestling, Memphis version in June 1998. They did a show in my then-hometown of Greenville, MS, at the Hollywood, an old club they probably got for a song & dance. Bill Dundee vs. Billy Joe Travis was the main event. I also found out what kinda wrestling fan my wife was when I was cheering a heelish Derrick King doing his version of HBK, over her guy, Lance Jade, a handsome muscular guy with long blonde hair. (Did he become Garrison Cade?) Wife dug the long haired guys. I got heat from her because I like a fun gimmick.

Would of been 1999. Mario Milano was in the main event. I think Lobo and Chuck. E. Chaos were on the card as well. And apparently "Cremator" Brad Richards had his first matches at those shows.

ROH's "New Horizons" PPV taping in 2008. So yes, for my very first ever indy show I saw a main event of Bryan Danielson vs. Tyler Black, 2 future WWE champions. Also Kevin Steen vs. Necro Butcher, Nigel McGuinness vs. Claudio Castagnoli, and Roderick Strong/Naomichi Marufuji vs. Chris Hero/Go Shiozaki. So much talent on that first show. Then I went to some carny local Michigan fed after that and it was atrocious.

I was going to FWA and All Star around 2001, but I can't exactly recall the first show. I remember being at an All Star show the day of the 9/11 attacks.

It was 2007, the first and only show of the Impact Wrestling Alliance. The main event was David Young (from TNA's Diamonds in the Rough) vs. Gangrel. The Young Bucks were there, though they weren't really a known commodity at that time. Also Li'l Cholo, who some of you may now recognize as Lucha Underground's Mr. Cisco.

A show headlined by the Honky Tonk Man and the company's champion against two masked fat dudes. Adam Pearce wrestled on the card, the company is still running to this day. Their big holiday card this year was headlined by the promoter vs.....Abyss in a Monster's Ball match.
A main event in any major arena!

My first indie show was right down the street from where I lived at the time, at Olney Central College.
It was just some no-name indie (literally, I don't think it had a name) promoted by a guy named Bud who also trained guys in a little place that doubled as a nightclub for people under 18. He wrestled as the Red Baron, and he looked a fair bit like Tod Gordon, except shorter. His "claim to fame" was that he helped train the Undertaker, although I have never seen or found any evidence of that being even remotely true.
There was another guy named Johnny something who also wrestled there, and also owned the teen nightclub thing. He wore zebra tights and those big puffy volleyball kneepads you get from Wal-Mart.
I honestly don't remember if any of the matches were good. I was just excited to see live pro wrestling for the first time. I do remember that at that first show, they brought in the Bushwhackers, thus making them the first semi-famous wrestlers I ever met. I also remember that they never had any champions.
I went to several of their shows over the next couple of years. They brought in a few old school guys here and there, Dutch Mantel being the most vivid memory to me because he was a complete asshole. They also used this dude called the California Kid who was trying REALLY hard to be Billy Gunn. He was also an asshole, as was his skanked out valet/girlfriend.

I went to an HWA in say...2005 or 2006. Before I realized ROH was around fairly often.
Only person I remember was a baby faced Jon Moxley closing out the show and thinking he wasn't very good. And he proved me wrong for sure as time went on.

It was Glory By Honor 3 on Sept 11 2004, it had Mick Foley's ROH debut, Joe vs Doug Williams and Aries vs Punk as two of the feature bouts.
It also had a segment with Punk, Corino and Homicide where he wished everyone was in the twin towers during the 9/11 attacks, the segment did not make the DVD. It was a fun show and I was hooked on ROH for the next few years after that.

Excluding PWG or Lucha Underground, my first "official" indie show will be this Saturday. PCW (Pacific Coast Wrestling) is holding their first show and I thought "what the hell"
The card:
PCW Release the Kraken - Graves vs Rik Luxury - Chris Evans vs Johnny Saovi - The Classic Connection (Buddy Royal & Levi Shapiro) vs The Keepers of the Faith (Dom Vitalli & Gabriel Gallo) - Dylan Drake vs JR Kratos - Scorpio Sky vs TJ Perkins - Unsanctioned No DQ match: The Almighty Sheik vs MVP
Sunday, I'm planning on going to Championship Wrestling from Ventura Hollywood, so I'll get a card for that. All I know is that Jervis Cottonbelly (Among others) is advertised and I must get a gentlemanly handshake
