Kevin Von Erich is making the trip from Hawaii to Dallas for WM, got to guess it is for a Freebird induction into the Hall of Fame. I found out earlier today from wrestlinginc that Kevin Von Erich posted that information on his official Twitter account on February 6th. For whatever reason, wrestlinginc didn't post an article about it until today. Kevin is certainly the perfect choice to induct the Fabulous Freebirds into the WWE Hall of Fame due to the Von Erich family's historic and still well-known 1980's feud with the Fabulous Freebirds down in World Class Championship Wrestling. I have no idea if WWE will be inducting just the original three Fabulous Freebirds (Michael P.S. Hayes, the late Terry Gordy and the late Buddy Roberts) or if WWE will be inducting all five members of the Fabulous Freebirds. Jimmy Garvin didn't officially become a Fabulous Freebird until June, 1989 and the late Brad Armstrong didn't become a Fabulous Freebird until May, 1991. The Fabulous Freebirds certainly had a truly great run from 1979-1994. I'd count Garvin but not Badstreet, Parsons or any of the offshoots. I think it should be Kevin Von Erich presenting it to Hayes/Roberts/Gordy/Garvin with Hayes & Garvin accepting. Maybe Ray Gordy and a family member representing Buddy as well.

My guess is, it's the original three. Like the Horsemen, they probably want the best-known lineup.
Figured Kevin would be the one inducting him; Hayes inducted the Von Erich family.

I think Hayes considers Garvin on of the Freebirds and I could also see them doing it so it looks like 2 of the 4 are alive instead of 1 of 3.

Yep. They'll induct Garvin as a Freebird.
Aside from the other rumored names, I'm wondering if Ray Stevens is being considered again. Sgt Slaughter mentioned him in a recent interview about who thinks should go in and I can't help but wonder how close that induction came last year. The thinking is that he was booted from last years class because Macho Man went in, but I think he was booted because Macho Man went in, Conor Michalek went in, and Vince found a way for Bruno Sammartino to be involved by inducting Zbyszko. So we'll see if Pat Patterson gets his wish soon.
Slaughter also brought up the Freebirds and Lord Alfred Hayes. Lord Alfred Hayes lived in Dallas at the end of his life and died there. He probably still has family in the area.

I try not to take the Hall of Fame as "DIS SERIOUS BIZNESS", but it does kind of bug me that Lord Alfred Hayes hasn't been inducted yet. If you grew up watching from the mid 80's to the early 90's, he was on almost literally every show either doing the Event Center reports or on commentary. His Lordship definitely deserves to be in.

So I've seen Jacqueline, The Godfather and Too Cool mentioned.
I thought this thread was about the Hall of Fame class, not an episode of Sunday Night Heat!

I don't want to slanderous, but there might be a good reason for that. What's the story here? I looked on his Wikipedia and found nothing He is probably referring to the unusually large weapon Lord Alfred would use when ribbing people. Piper felt it first hand in Bob Geigel's office. That said, WWE had Jim Ross call Lord Alfred part of the WWE family before introducing a video tribute when Alfred died. They even once used a soundbite of him for old school RAW. So I don't think that is being held against him. It was just part of the frat house mentality of locker rooms back then. They could be a disgusting bunch. While the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame inducted him 2 years ago, what's keeping him out of the WWE Hall of Fame is that he's dead and isn't necessarily a draw. But with Gordon Solie and Bullet Bob Armstrong having been inducted, it's entirely possible Lord Alfred Hayes will go in one day.

I wonder if Ray "The Crusher" Stevens last year didn't get in cause 2 "Crushers" would be confusing and might look like it was attempting to overshadow Conor.

Of course that is another can o' worms.

For the female inductee, I hope it's Leilani Kai. She had a pivotal role in the first Wrestlemania, and is sadly often overlooked.

The cocaine thing, as somebody mentioned, plus they don't seem to consider her that important. I can't remember the last time she was mentioned as anything other than a punchline.

She was there for Madusa's HOF stuff and they put her over as an influence on Paige what with the Scorpion Crosslock. I don't think she it the inductee this year, just they are not on bad terms.

Plus if Madusa is finally inducted, there's hope for anybody!
