I'd almost guarantee they go with MARVEL'SSpider-Man to make sure everybody is very aware that this is done by Marvel and not Sony. Second one will likely be Spectacular

All's fair to you if you liked it, but I feel that honour is held by virtually anything with JMS' name on it. Even the bad stuff like Sins Past and The Other are superior to Superior. I long for the days when Spider-Man comics were written by professionals and not immature hacks with clichéd Saturday Morning tv ideas. Sorry, but Superior's popularity with people just baffles me. It was an insult to the franchise and every character in the book. Worse than OMD. Thankfully I'm glad to say my opinion is shared by many others. The guys over on the SM Crawlspace and Douglas Ernst in particular tear that arc a well deserved hole. I'm not going to go further into this as it'll just derail the thread. That's how passionate I feel about the state of the books now. Even the dailes are better than what we're currently getting. Bring back the Clone Saga, all is forgiven I get it, it's the passion of a fan speaking. I've never been a big Spiderman fan, because I just felt like he was never able to stop being this whiny little bitch, but if you're older than me and grew up with him, then he's your character and you wont see stuff the way I will. I suspect with Slott going on about how he's going to change the Silver Surfer forever I'm about to start hating him too! Yeah, I've read the book for about thirty or twenty nine years now and there's certainly been times where Peter wasn't a whiny buttmunch, but an assertive character who grew up and constantly got saddled with new everyman responsibilities to deal with. These days, while he still has different responsibilities, he still acts like a man-child so much that I find it impossible to care. Put it this way, when I was a kid, Peter was expecting one. When I was a kid, Peter let go of Aunt May and let her pass on, when I was a kid, death still meant something for certain characters like Harry Osborn. When I was a kid, MJ was an awesome, long-suffering but ultimately loyal wife who tolerated Peter's life and stood up for herself against all sorts of crummy types when needed. Annnd when I was a kid, Doc Ock got brought back via magic spells and Norman Osborn was Lex Luthor, but that's besides the point.... In my twenties, I followed JMS' run, which was distinctly adult and dealt with very strong existential questions about where his powers came from, Morlun was'nt a corny Power Rangers villain, and the book depicted the struggles it took to repair the marriage in the wake of the 1999-2001 run of the book. There was so much risk and change packed in those books. On top of that, you had Spider-Girl, a book dealing with Peter's daughter in an altered future which was a great old-school throwback book that delved into themes of having a legacy to live up to and making friends out of enemies, and on top of that it depicted Peter with a great family life and a courageous backbone as he would come out of retirement and risk his handicap sometimes to help his daughter out. It was a feelgood book and a great way to sort of have the characters grow up with you while you still enjoyed the youthful versions. Then it went off the rails with OMD, Spider-Girl was eventually cancelled, and we've been saddled with the man-child ever since. I don't blame some fans getting complacent with that and wanting something different...I just wish it took better stories to please them than fricking Superior...which brings me 'round to Slott's best work since Learning to Crawl with the character: Renew Your Vows, which not only portrayed Peter and MJ's relationship in a healthy manner, but demonstrated how parenthood made them even stronger together and that they as a whole, father, mother, and daughter, could take down the dictator of their region. No whining neccersary, no freaky friday mind-swaps to make someone more of a confidant badass, just the usual themes of power and even greater responsibility. Why that's the special case and not the norm for the regular books is just as baffling. These days, I just read the dailes, and despite it's goofy plots, Peter and MJ actually act like adults there, and there's barely any focus on Aunt May or Peter's usual rotten luck. All he is is sometimes just a bit useless in a fight.

They'll probably just go with "Marvel's Spider-Man", but "Spectacular" it's easily the best of the above. "Superior" would only work with that particular storyline, and "Ultimate" only reminds me I'll be waiting another 10-15 years for a Miles Morales movie, while we watch Peter Parker graduate high school for the third time in 15 years. If they were to go with "Sensational", and I didn't get that Future cameo, I'd be very disappointed.

Spider-Man: Sins Past: Perfect tonic for post-ASM II Gwen fans (diabolical laugh) According to this site, the film has the title of "Spider-Man: The New Avenger", which I think is an old title that got attached to it when news first broke of the movie. myentertainmentworld.com/feature-films/page/7/

Maybe the new Spider-Man will be a title with a colon. Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt; Maximum Carnage; Blue, etc.

Spider-Man: One More Day. Featuring a cameo from Tobey Maguire & Kirsten Dunst, Spidey makes a deal that erases his & MJ's marriage. Reality shimmers into a new existance & Pete now looks like Andrew Garfield who wants a world with Gwen alive in it, so he makes the same deal.
We cut to the new kid…
