The WWE are in the same situation WCW were in 1998, they have an embarrassment of riches, they have the best talent money can buy up and down the card and a wrestling school to create the stars of tomorrow, all of this is meaningless however, if they don't have the booking to get them to the main event level. With WCW, they had Hulk Hogan camped out in the main event scene with the final say on everyone else's booking, in the WWE they have the 3 assed giant of Stephanie, Vince and Dunn deciding who gets what spot and unless you're a veteran, your push can die at any point in time.

I've said this for a while on here and I don't think many agree with me but I'll reiterate it: The various NXT signings are not doing WWE any favors. In trying to make NXT some sort of alternative product to the main shows they have succeeded. But as a farm system for talents ready to succeed on the WWE roster? I don't think so. A lot of these guys are too small, too fat, or foreign, or too indie, or something that would see them jobbed out on the main roster. As someone who spent years watching OVW I can't help but watch NXT from this point of view, namely "Will this guy make it on the main roster?" Often times the answer is "No."

Unless RAW/SD plans on doing a major overhaul in how they book shows, commentary, etc - a lot of the NXT roster won't make the transition because the main roster environment is so geared towards an outdated idea of what a "WWE Superstar" should be.

They're building but it needs to be better than this.
- Reigns doesn't need to be pushed as The Guy right now, he still needs to be developed - Ambrose needs to be in the main event title picture as the main face or, if they wanna risk it, main heel - Wyatt needs to be a bigger deal and I don't just mean during WM season - Cody Rhodes should be main eventing now given all he's done for the company, he's your guy who can adapt to any angle - Midcarders like Neville and Breeze need to go for midcard belts like the US title - Guys who are talented who don't have any direction need to be made into a tag team to see if they work to help other teams out until they can try and improve as singles stars again
They just need to do a lot better.

I think a successful Roman will help. If he's a success on top, it might encourage them to give others a go. It's part of the reason I'm really rooting for Roman.

I disagree because even when they had an influx of talent these past 10 years they still kept with Cena. If Reigns is successful it's just more of an indication to keep pushing him rather than letting others carry the ball.

The problem is that a WWE is so focused on Roman that they won't even try with some guys and actively undermine some guys out of the fear that they'd outshine him, and for a lot of fans, that's stirring up resentment. I don't really care for Roman, but I'd be more receptive to his push if I knew other guys l liked were getting something substantial to do as well.
