At this point I'm rooting for a Purple Joe win just to put a cherry on top of this thing. I really don't it's been a bad season, had some great tribals. Just a poor final stretch, that started with a female alliance which always creates boredom

I think the editing is much better this season. Outside of Purple Joe no one in the cast really was invisible whereas last season Spencer's unseen father and Jeremy's pregnant wife got more storyline then several people in the game.

I like Tai as a person but hate his gameplay. Aubry makes me nauseous, Joe is invisible, Michelle is good for sound bytes and not much else, and I don't really mind Cydney that much. From a TV stand point it's been good, but for my enjoyment, it's been all downhill since the Debbie boot. Plus I want a Purple winner.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jason return.
He was a good villain.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jason return. He was a good villain. He was a tweener Scot was more of a villain. Hell Tai of all people is more of a villain

Multiple people these season are tweeners. This is one of the most complex casts ever. One minute Aubrey is a Boss then this episode she is a crying mess and Joe and Cydney are the one's dictating the boot. Tai is both beloved fan favorite and a huge backstabber,Jason is both a really nice likeable guy and a petulant sore loser and a bully, Joe is both a badass who doesn't take **it from anybody and also an invisible coatail rider. Debbie is simultaneously a more self aware version of Coach but also crazier then him. Then you have Julia who was incredibly transparent to everyone with her strategy but was absolutely the correct strategy as she probably makes f3 if Tai didn't flip on the brawn guys. A more socially aware older version of herself who understands social cues probably dominates the game.

We wouldn't be having this mess if Jenny was still in the game, that's all.

Super ridiculously unpopular opinion, but I think this season is better than last season. While Second Chances was consistently entertaining, it lacked soul and opted to play out like this weird Survivor RPG. The events were unpredictable, yes, but everything unique about the characters was mostly stripped away and replaced with generic Survivor strategy speak. The stories that did attempt some character development like Jeremy's family situation and Spencer trying to be less of a strategy bot were so watered down and repeated ad nauseam that they nearly verged on parody.
Here, the characters are fleshed out so much more, and not exactly just to further the game for strategic purposes. It feels more in tune with the original spirit of the show.

I don't know about that. The voting block way of play rather then traditional alliances/numbers has Second chances in high regard. This isn't a horrible season, and I like better then both of last years seasons (SJDS and World's Apart.) but the remaining few are a bit uninteresting sans Tai, but he isn't the smartest player

I can't put this is the same league as last season (which may be a top fiver for me when the dust settles) but I will say it has done a good job of following up a legendarily good game. At the beginning of the season I was concerned but the cast settled in and this got really strong really quickly.

I'm swinging the other way and saying I much prefer this to Second Chances, if only because the editing seems a lot more balanced (I can remember the pre-mergers from this season better than any of last season's with the exception of Varner), and the characters are much more interesting. Plus, the overuse of idols got grating last season, so this is a great change.

should have taken Michelle there. Always take someone who thinks they're on the bottom when numbers are tight

I'm beginning to fear that too, especially since it's the time of the episode that we would be doing the Immunity Challenge by now...

Medivac would really explain Joe's barely visible edit despite how likeable and entertaining he is when he gets airtime

Maybe episode ends with no elimination and a cliffhanger resolved at the beginning of the finale? I mean it has happened once, a Final 4 finale episode but that had a Final 3 final TC. I forget which one, it was 1-2 seasons before Cagayan I think. Speaking of Cagayan, it's on DVD now. But they forgot to put Morgan on the cover.

Maybe episode ends with no elimination and a cliffhanger resolved at the beginning of the finale? People have been speculating about a final two. This'll probably be what sets it in motion.

I wonder if this means shying away from casting older people (60 and above) from now on.
