UGH YOU GUYS BATISTA'S NEVER GONNA BE SUCCESSFUL WITH THOSE TATS. MARK JINDRAK SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN EVOLUTION. HE'S GOT THE LOOK. If it were today, the IWC would be up in arms about how Batista is too old to be in Evolution. I actually seem to recall his DOB not being common knowledge (and maybe wrong in a few places) until around the time of his big push leading up to WrestleMania 21 when and people were shocked to learn he was the same age as Triple H. Always found people's assumptions about Bat's age interesting, he always looked about as old as my dad to me (my dad is now 65+). I would joke he looked like he could be one of my friends' dads. Also, I'm confused about A.J. Styles not being good looking? I've got odd taste from time to time, but never expected to be that odd for thinking he was

Considering all the stories we hear about Batista, it doesn't seem like he was thought of as unattractive... DAVE AIN'T GOT THE LOOK Why are you posting pictures of a young Kane wearing an oversized blazer?

Can't believe the OP actually thinks AJ Styles pf all people is ugly. he's not wrong. Yes, he's super wrong. Just because he'd rather f*** other wrasslers instead of that wrassler who he thinks can't be a successful star wrassler just because he doesn't want to f*** that wrassler doesn't mean that wrassler isn't a good looking wrassler.

All this thread tells me is that we have no moral high ground anymore when it comes to calling out WWE for pushing people based on their look.

All this thread tells me is that we have no moral high ground anymore when it comes to calling out WWE for pushing people based on their look. Not really. Looks are part of the package when it comes to wrestling. It can be an major part of a marketable and distinctive gimmick. The criticism of WWE comes from pushing people based on an overemphasis on their look, regardless of actual talent.

Having 'the look' and being attractive are not the same thing.
Also people didn't think Batista had the look and/or was unatractive? Lol.

The look don't mean much in wrestling no matter how hard the WWF/E have tried to say it is, nearly ever big name they've had has had some flaw in the looks department.
- Hulk Hogan: Not a handsome man, even ignoring his hairline, he was an orange monstrosity with a crazy grandad face who rapidly deflated when people accused him of taking steroids but he had charisma out the wazoo and so he made money. - Randy Savage: Again, caveman looks, big ol' baldspot for the second half of his career, charisma and ringwork made everyone ignore that. - Dusty Rhodes: Gave me nightmares growing up, but he put bums in seats. - Ric Flair: He may have played and lived the jetsetter life, but he sure wasn't the best looking guy on the roster, sometimes he wasn't even the best looking guy in the Horsemen. - Edge: He looks like he should have spent the 90s and 2000s delivering monologues on NBC, given his Leno chin and all. - Triple H: When first got his main event push they had to remove the first row of seats from around the ring to make sure that nose of his didn't accidentally poke anyone's eye out in the crowd. - Kevin Nash/Diesel: Adonis from the waist up, ostrich from the waist down. - Brock Lesnar: looks lifted straight out of the Flintstones, which isn't surprising given how he spends his time away from the ring. - Shawn Michaels: His looks faded rapidly in the 2000s, he used to tag with Marty Jannetty, given how his eyes were he would have been more at home tagging with Marty Feldman. - Bret Hart: Actually grew into his looks from the Hart Foundation days, unfortunately get him away from the ring and he looked like a socially awkward divorcee dad trying to look cool. 'I'm hip! I like the AOLs! Do you love me yet, son?' - Mr. Perfect: People rag on how Curtis Axel looks, but his father wasn't better, it's the exact same face with Dolph Ziggler's head ramen where his hair should be. - DDP: 'Why did they make that one Muppet out of leather?' And so on.
If you have 'it' and you're entertaining in the ring, the fanbase don't care how you look because it's a non issue unless you're being marketed as a heartthrob/sex symbol.

Here's my problem with looks on the roster. Some of these I personally don't care about, but I know the WWE do. Some of them are my own judgements.
Adam Rose - None. I think he's got a great body/look. AJ Styles - I like his hair. I think he definitely looks less plain than his previous hairstyle. Obviously for WWE height is the issue. Alberto Del Rio - just a terrific look. Big E - His issue is height, nothing else wrong. Big Show - his age. Bo Dallas - one of the worst looks on the roster. Just abysmal. Flabby body, no real size, his hair is terrible. Braun - No problems. Bray - his hair fits, his problem is he doesn't look a threat. Just an overwieght small guy. He's cast as a legit force, but his gang are clearly the physically threatening ones, not him. Definitely one of the reasons he hasn't gotten over to the point he should be given he's fought Cena-Taker and now maybe Brock at Mania!!! Brock - Elite Bubba - I think once people have seen him as Bully Ray it is a little demeaning ro see him going back to the Dudley character. Cesaro - amazing Jericho - uggh. The hair is off, could do with going shorter. His over the hill body and tats aren't the best either. And I can't bear to look at that crevice in his sternum. Axel - Really like his look. D-Von - same as Bubba really. Sandow - Like his look. Hair/beard need to be tweaked based on gimmick. what a waste from the WWE not doing more with him after how over the stunt double was. Bryan - beard's a bit out of control now, obviously WWE hate his size. Ambrose - ring gear is far too generic. He's obviously balding, so in a few years he might have a comb-over situation going on which will be bad. Ziggler - the hair is just off the scale terrible. Everything else is excellent. Rowan - Great. Fandango - Great. Slater - love the sleazeball look. His obvious problem is he doesn't look big enough to be a physical threat, but to be fair he loses all the time anyway. Swagger - Would love him to try the shaven head. The blonde fringe is a bit dated now. Usos - typical flabby Samoan bodies. Ring gear is a bit childish. Cena - his outfits are one of the major reasons he can't get over as a face. Kalisto - great look for a little lucha. Kane - old. Kevin Owens - I personally love the look because it's clear dude is a physical threat in reality. Obviously WWE may feel he's too fat. Barrett - Great look. Kingston - like Slater, only problem is he's too skinny to be a threat. Konnor - ridiculous 1980s ring gear Harper - just so great. Henry - old. Miz - We know his problem - combination of face, size and body makes people look at him and think "I could take him." Only works as a cowardly heel. Neville - the guy is probably the ugliest on the roster, but he doesn't help himself with that hair. The hair is off the scale abysmal. Body is great. Truth - Great look, showing his age a little, but black don't crack. Randy Orton - "If you built a sports-ennertainer from the ground up it would look like Randy Orton Maggle!" - too true. Awesome. Reigns - one of the few wrestler that long hair, which in 2016 generally looks dated, still works for. Obviously his problem is that he's Samoan so clearly has a flabby body. Rusev - I'm undecided on the pony tail. Other than that, fantastic. Ryback - incredible decision to change to Goldberg, I'm glad he's ditched the Cena-like crazy 1980s colour attire, but unless he's gonna get squashed by Goldberg at Mania I don't know why they would change him to look like him. Seth - Love it. Great ring gear, and the hair works. Good decision to get rid of the abysmal half blonde half black hair though. Sheamus - I like it, the 'stupid' chants attract the heel heat. Stardust - poor dude is like the Miz, nobody sees him as a threat. Ridiculous to think he could win physical fights. Titus - Great Tyler Breeze - gimmick is jaded and the look is limited to that. Taker - Very old. Viktor - cut that hair off you idiot. Xavier - great look for the wimpy dude that always loses.

Does anyone remember WWE photoshopping Shawn Michaels bald spots? Or photoshopping washboard abs on HHH at several times in his career when he got a lil pudgy. But to the once and future Kings credit, he got chiseled for WrestleMania 25.

I'm glad you mentioned Adam Rose. I've seen him described as too small and in bad shape before. The guy's in his mid-late 30s and ripped to shreds. Look at those arm veins. Yeah, he's not as big and puffy as he was in 2013, but still. I'd have to disagree with you on Owens. He's GENEROUSLY billed at 6'0'' and has smaller arms than a guy of 250+ lbs should have. For a short, fat guy in gym shorts, he makes even the guys like Heath, Cody, and Miz look more intimidating.* (*I'm not hating: I'm a fan of Owens' ring and mic work and own two of his shirts... but his look is objectively bad)
