Yeesh, and people are telling Sheamus to kill himself on Twitter already. So f***ing stupid, considering they're buddies IRL. Telling Sheamus to kill himself is cruel and douchebaggy, but people are understandably upset. One of the best wrestlers in the world didn't get to have the rightful run on top that he deserved because WWE was too set in their ways and too focused on the guys that they wanted to get over. I'm upset about that as well. Honestly, it wouldn't have happened even if he got the title earlier, his neck was already falling apart by the time he got to Mania 30. He only gutted it out because he knew it was going to end with the ME at Mania and the title run.

I put a shortened version of this on Twitter but considering the frustration of NXT Season 1, the firing, 18 seconds, 'Goat face', Wyatt Family Member and the injuries it shows just how damn amazing Daniel Bryan is that not only did his popularity survive through all that but it actually thrived.

Damn.
f*** it, the diving headbutt needs to be banned from wrestling. Harley Race said that he regretted it doing it, looked at how Dynamite Kid ended up. No more f***ing diving headbutts

Part of me wants it to be a work, part of me wants it to be legit purely to protect him from himself. I'm still really convinced that we'll get a Kurt Angle situation once WWE and him officially sever ties. Unless they kind find a Corey Gravesesque role for him that will work...

He should respectfully shut up until Bryan himself says whatever he wants and needs to. Why? This thread itself is a vessel to talk about Bryan before he himself says what he wants to. Because we don't know anything, if he has all the inside info then great but I think he should let Bryan say himself what is happening in his own words and THEN he can give the backstory. Just let the guy have his moment y'know?

I can only refer to the quote from Star Wars that I've referred to so many times in regards to Bryan... "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."

Popped up on the app as well so i'm taking it as everything is official no swerve or other nonsense. Good on him tho for coming to accept it. He's still young and has a whole life ahead of him. Maybe if he kicks back he can have an HBK type come back but i'm happy he's finding peace.

A heckuva loss for anyone who loves wrestling, but considering how he's acted all his career he'll be forever free of the pain & agony that others have sadly experienced. He can have a long and healthy life now - I'd happily see him retire if that is a guarantee. WWE had better keep him on as an ambassador or some sort of active alumnus, it's just common sense PR. It would be incredibly crass if it was. Mark Henry pulled it off. Mark Henry didn't have a rather public issue re: concussions known to the fanbase, he was just a ring vet suddenly retiring, and it turned into a incredible life promo and immediate swerve. Going back to that creative well again would be more crass than the actual swerve.

Just let the guy have his moment y'know? Because as a journalist it's his job to report on major news stories. This kind of thing is very common in "real" sports. The press often announces it before it happens. I remember the news of Michael Jordan's first retirement came during Game 1 of the 1993 ALCS because Jordan said something to someone at Comiskey Park and it ended up getting to the CBS TV booth.

I don't think there's been a main event face so overwhelmingly loved since maybe Austin? Cena is 50/50 obviously, Punk had his detractors, Reigns has his, as popular as he is Ambrose has a small percentage who can't stand him (or the WACKYLINE! at least). I don't think there's anyone who doesn't love Daniel Bryan.
Being in a bar at 4am as he wins the World Title and 100 or so fans including wrestlers like Kris Travis all celebrating like England had won the World Cup was just an amazing experience.

And another reason people are trying to talk shit to Sheamus is that they still believe the (completely incorrect) notion that Sheamus injured Bryan. Bryan had to come out himself and say that his last injury was in a match that Sheamus wasn't even involved in and people are STILL blaming it on the guy. There's no understanding behavior like this. They're openly attacking one of Bryan's best friends. These people are stupid and they're assholes.

All said, I'm upset. But this closure was necessary. Regardless of what happens, it's time for Bryan (and us as fans of Bryan) to step back, appreciate what he accomplished. Clinging to what should have and could have been with him is just needlessly upsetting at this point.

Going to be a tough watch tonight on Raw seeing him say goodbye.
Especially if we get the usual incredible WWE montage video that they put together. The story of his rise to the top, the fans refusing to give up on him and forcing the stubborn out of touch WWE to actually listen to them, honestly it was like something out of a Hollywood Movie.
It's a sad end now but we'll always have Mania 30 to look back on.

I'm sure Sheamus would have never wanted this to be the end result, and I really don't think Bryan would have that animosity towards him. Of course, I don't know either guy, but it's still incredibly immature to tell someone to kill themselves.

It's a sad day, but it's better than him trying to fight through it and becone Kurt Angle.
My heart goes out to him.
