I'm actually kind of curios about the possibility, in light of some recent events. My understanding has been that she was largely intended to be an NXT exclusive and that there were no plans at all for her to be moved up to RAW or Smackdown. However, that is also what I had heard about Rhyno, and as we know, he has now put in several appearances on RAW, even if he is not full time. The same had also been said about Samoa Joe, but now there is buzz of him being moved up as well, probably in no small part because of the acquisition of AJ. So, I find myself wondering if this raises the possibility that Asuka's arrangement might not end up being changed so she could also get called up. Granted if it were to happen, it should not be anytime soon-the booking of the women on the main shows is still laughable, and her star power is very much needed in NXT still. But still, all manner of fun possibilities do come to mind.

I think she'll actually become the main female figure in NXT for the next year or so as they call up Bayley to the main roster after WM.

Give her another year in NXT to be the top of the Women's Division and continue working on her English.

Curious where the OP got the idea that she's never intended to be called up, like that was the plan from the start. Never heard that.
I do think the plan has probably been (from the start) to keep her in NXT until she can better master English to cut better promos, and in that regard she's more of a long-term project.

If they were never going to bring her up to the main roster, they wouldn't have renamed her.

Doesn't matter as long as she gets nxt TV time. She deserves to be the main woman on the main roster but if nxt means more ring time then happy days. She is amazing.

Probably eventually.
But I think she's going to be the new top woman in NXT after Bayley.

I wouldn't be surprised if they brought her to the main roster when it came time to bring Nakamura up and run an angle of some sort.

No, this popular figure will never get moved from NXT. She'll just be released. *SMACK*

I think what people forget is the original deal with Joe wasn't that he'd be exclusive to NXT. He was hired to be on NXT but then was free to work other Independents. When RoH got national TV they quickly signed him to a full deal. (undoubtedly helped by his shirt sales.)

I don't see her moving up in the near future, not because of her lack of talent by any means, but because I see them moving Bayley to the main roster soon and they need Asuka as the big babyface champion.

Am i the only one who thinks the idea of an nxt exclusive superstar is stupid? i get that nxt is great but its still a developmental territory shouldn't everyone whos capable move up to the main roster? Yup and as great NXT is, it's the goal of every member on the roster to move up to the main roster to make main roster pay. James Storm left NXT to TNA simply because TNA was offering more money and realized he may never get promoted to the main roster or it would be a long road ahead. Or AJ Styles didn't sign with WWE until it was guaranteed he would debut on the main roster and make that big money right away. I'm sure Asuka didn't leave her home country of Japan where she was making some sweet dough I'm sure to stay home sick making the same amount of money before if there was no possibility of her making it to the main roster. With Joe it was originally that Joe can work in the indies still since he is one of the top earners of the independents, but when Vince saw how fast his shirt sold out, he pushed HHH to sign him to an exclusive WWE contract matching his max payout. If Vince already took notice of Samoa Joe I'm sure he'll get him on the main roster after Wrestlemania

Isn't she like 34? I'd imagine she'll take Bayley's place at top of the women's division for about a year and then move to the main roster and let Emma or Athena take over.

Personally, I think Emma needs to get called back up. The heel side of the women's roster could use a bit of a boost with Banks shifting into a tweener role and The Bella Twins being face and out of the division entirely respectively. Really, beyond Charlotte, it's kinda slim pickings.

I feel she will get lost in the shuffle with the other divas, maybe she will have a Victoria/Natalya role as the diva veteran, but I think they see more in pretty much every other girl in NXT as they have more of a plan for them long term and are more marketable/can talk.
I could even see them making her like a female version of Goldust or Boogeyman, where her freaking people out in segments is more known than her ring work.

She has lost one match, TV or house show, since being signed. And that match was a battle royal where she was basically eliminating everyone. She's being pushed as a believable monster despite being relatively small and not being allowed to speak. If she's the company's "put rookies over" person, they've already horribly botched it.

I predict Bayley will be this years Raw after WM debut, leaving Asuka as the face of NXT.
