If Ichiro was a rookie in MLB, don't see why Styles can't be a rookie in WWE.

If Ichiro was a rookie in MLB, don't see why Styles can't be a rookie in WWE. This thread is making me feel better. (I actually came in hoping to be wrong). I think maybe I am just nervous that his run will not amount to much that I am picking out everything. Like I said in the beginning, I'm extremely happy with the product right now. Wait..is someone starting a thread and appreciating being proved wrong a new thing?

Meh, Rookie to WWE. Makes him not seem as old considering that he's a 38 year old guy just now starting his WWE career.

I think it's aping the Miz line to give him a machine to rage against. He get to prove he's no Raw rookie, so to speak, by going over.
Looks to me like they're pushing him in a very deliberate and steady way to help familiarize him to the casuals and give him a storyline to seem very much like a very big deal.

Its not too big a deal, unless AJ never address it in a promo.
If he says, "Everyone says I'm a rookie, but rookies don't beat WWE Superstar after Superstar in their first month. Rookies don't have worldwide acclaim. Rookies don't get signed to one of the most lucrative deals in WWE history and rookies don't beat Chris Jericho twice in a row like I'm going to on Sunday."
Something like that where he basically asserts that people can call him a rookie all they want, but when he's holding all the gold, people will be calling him something different and that's "PHENOMENAL"

I'd not worry about the "rookie" part but the "redneck" part. The rookie stuff is just is just making WWE seem more important and get the heels some heat. Redneck, I can't think of anyone other than Austin to use that label and succeed.

So op is upset because a heel said a heelish thing? Mission accomplished No, it was Saxton, I believe. And is JBL heel? JBL definitely said "redneck rookie" last night whoever came up with it. Anyway yeah it's no big deal. Makes him appear younger than he is and he IS a 'WWE rookie'. They portray themselves as the big leagues so it makes sense.

You can't list all indie and Japanese accomplishments and hype him as a hot free agent if he's also a rookie. It's a contradiction.
As for a redneck, that should never be mentioned. It doesn't fit into the character he needs to play of being a world-traveled, international star.

I'm from the south, but just being from the south doesn't make you a redneck.

I'm ok with Miz saying it because Miz is a dick. The fans know better and when AJ gets to shove his accomplishments in Miz' face it'll all be ok.

Isn't that the Miz's schtick? Wasn't he the one calling Daniel Bryan a rookie?
