What is his current contract status now that he is no longer going to be wrestling? Is he completely finished with WWE? And if he is, could he conceivably turn up elsewhere after a no-compete clause? I am arguing with a guy in a Facebook group who doesn't buy Bryan's story and is convinced he is going to pull a Kurt Angle.
It was a great send-off and I'd like to think Bryan is very different than Kurt, but him wrestling elsewhere depends on whether he stays with WWE in a different capacity.

Isn't he still signed for like 2 or 2 and a half years?
Beyond that, his wife is still working in WWE. How hilariously stupid would he have to be? Even Punk didn't put AJ in as awkward a position as that.

He's still got some years left so I'm guessing they're allowing him to do some other stuff part-time along with being an ambassador for the company. Right now he's promoting his retirement and talking to people about some other stuff but needless to say, I'm sure he's still going to be with the company. When Edge retired the WWE helped him get on Haven. Surely they're helping Bryan do some other stuff.

What I read on Facebook previous to Monday was, he asked for his release in January, only to be denied, this was when the rumours of him being released were happening and that in the last week he had some other tests done and found out his brain wasn't what he thought it was. At least one of those turned out to be true.
He's shutting her down for his health and for his wife and family.

I buy that he was genuinely spooked enough by what he saw on that new test to drop the crusade of demanding to be let free to wrestle somewhere else. When he talked about how that test revealed that he "wasn't as healthy as he thought", the dude seemed genuinely kind of heartbroken. And then again later when he talked about how the next day, he would be starting a new life without wrestling. I don't think Bryan is a good enough actor to put on that great a showing just to lull WWE into a false sense of security.
It might be a few years before we see anything with him again. He's said he doesn't want to do non-wrestling roles, but that was before this news came, and especially in the time immediately after retirement, of course he'll just want to retire. He's lived nothing but wrestling for his entire adult life, and to now have to walk away from all of it at what should be the prime of his career, I imagine he really doesn't want to keep hanging around people still doing what he loves. But there's a chance that time will change things, and he'll be more willing to come back in some capacity, if they want him to. It's a lot like Edge's situation, in that regard; dude wanted to get away from wrestling because it had been his life, but a few years have passed, and since then he's been more open to coming back for one-offs, and now has that network show with Christian. Once Bryan has had some years to come to terms with this and start a family, we might see him come back into the fold somehow.

i'd love to see him in a coaching role at the performance centre. He looks like he'd make a good coach. That's where he can make the biggest contribution I suspect.

He admitted on Sports Centre that he'd hidden having seizures until he realised in the final scan that they were a major problem. There's no way he risks it anymore.

From his book I understood that he always enjoyed training people, so a life as a coach at the PC may be possible
Also a GM role for RAW or SD would fit him

Now that he's decided to hang up his in-ring career, I can't imagine why he'd want to leave the WWE, and why they'd want him to leave. In addition to being one hell of a goodwill ambassador and on-air personality, Bryan has years of experience he can pass along and also some experience in nutrition and clean living. I see Bryan being their head trainer at the PC in a few years if he wants it.

The only thing stupider than Bryan going back to wrestle would be any company that sends him out there.
He at least can blame brain damage for not thinking clearly.
So TNA will call him within a week guaranteed.

Bryan: "Ladies and gentlemen.....my name is Daniel Bryan....and I am the advocate....for AJ STYLES!" Funny you mention a manager role, because I'd actually love to see him with American Alpha. Chad Gable in particular I see a lot of Bryan in, in terms of natural ability and quirky charisma.

Retired guys like Bryan, Edge and Christian would make great managers.

I think he could be used for different Network content.
He could do....
- a weekly Make a Wish type show that highlights WWE's charity endeavors. He seemed to allude to wanting to help people in his ESPN interview. This could be an opportunity to do that while still within the WWE family.
-weekly show where he breaks down a wrestling match with a different guest every week. Like one week he could watch a Dynamite Kid match with Tyson Kidd and a week after watch a Eddie match with Sasha Banks, etc. They could analyze it and talk about the merit of each match. Bryan still clearly loves wrestling, and is a student of it, so why not embrace it?

They deserve to go out of business when you have someone who has major brain issues to go out an bang their brains up even more.
