Hell, the big goof is a liability in the ring with actual wrestlers expecting to fight him, never mind on an unsuspecting 70 year old man.

Plus, he did grab from behind. Vince probably briefly thought "f***, a shareholder finally found me".

And that's another thing. It's not like this was some big angle. It was a retirement ceremony where all kayfabe bullshit got dropped and heels & faces alike were standing on the stage in support of Daniel Bryan. Even Steph and HHH were out there. If this was meant to be an important storyline development, ok. But, it was a real moment and Titus decided to f*** around a little bit like he probably does all the time backstage since he felt things were much more relaxed than when he's usually on TV. He may not have even known the cameras were still on him.
Again, I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished because at the end of the day, that's a dumb move to grab your boss like that when he's in a crowd full of people and it wasn't too long ago where fans were jumping the rail seemingly every other week. I can't really fault Titus though.

That's pretty much it. All 'Crazy Vince' stories about Kofi fighting him or whatever, those happened backstage and could be sometimes seen as hearsay (Except Kofi's considering he said it on Jericho's podcast but still). This happened in front of a paying audience on live TV. Completely different. Is it really though when it's in a big crowd full of people and a lot of folks couldn't even really tell what happened until they watched the tape back? I'm not even trying to argue that he shouldn't be punished for it but the logic of a guy that's willing to fight one of his employees yet suspends somebody else for grabbing him seems really odd to me. Then again, who knows how Vince's mind works? From a logical, human perspective, sure. But from the other, weird business perspective, they know that at least one person would see it and if nothing happened, then something more could come from it. As much as I talk about how WWE shouldn't actually care about bad PR because nobody's really going to care about the wrestling business to any sort of degree, they don't want someone who has been a good PR magnet for the company to be seen 'assaulting' the boss of the company he works for.

If true a suspension is dumb, a severe bollocking at best.
and a tweet saying "I/he thought it was a fan attacking him, so I/he panicked" would cover all ground

If I worked there, I wouldn't even sneeze next to Vince.
No wonder nobody tries anything out of the norm...and this will only make it worse.
...and Vince will keep wondering why those "lazy millenials won't grab that brass ring".

I'm sure he's suspended because this made air. "Ok, here is the plan. You see, I'm going to play the most evil boss imaginable on TV. Every time you see me, I'm despicable. I'm going to be so so good at it, people will praise me for being such an evil boss. I will hate fans and pass off things that actually *are* good for business and for the fans as absolute trash. But here's the thing, I'm going to carry that persona with me in my actual decision-making concerning certain aspects of the product. Now, I have a major opportunity to continue this string of tyranny. But you see, I've got a guy that's retiring that I never wanted to put over in the first place. At least only if it were on my terms. Anyway, I can get national news with it if I hype it up as a big deal, so here is what we are going to do. I'm going to break character like mad. Nevermind that the guy isn't dying. I understand it's the retirement of a guy that wasn't around as long as several of the boys who consistently visited the opposite end of my office hole in the wall for years upon years. But I couldn't make money or headlines with those jobbers, so here is what we are going to do. We are going to hype this thing out the wazoo. By the way, loving our ESPN contract right about now. I'll come across as the sentimental type and lead the locker room out to wish him a fond farewell. I'll put lots of heels up front too. It'll be great. They're not believable anyway. Yeah, we could heel it up big time and send him off in a storyline that puts someone or someone(s) over in a major way like has worked so many times in the past. And I guess I could maintain a sense of consistency. Hmm... Anyway, we will all be there and accessible to the crowd. Real people. Real people who care. Even the Dudleyz who just turned heel will show we are actually good people who love what we do for the fans. We are real, and we love each other and this industry, and most importantly, we take care of our own." *less than 12 hours later* "We cannot have the consistency and continuity we have worked so hard for ruined by a jobber!!! That was on air!!! I mean, all of the other clear violations of what it is we stand for were exposed and violated as well, but I'm a god! I make the rules, no matter how far from actual rules with a measure of degree and guidelines they actually are. It was a retirement ceremony! Yes, we broke every character rule in the book, but chumming it up like we were pretending to do was only for those who I wrote into script to be that way. It was over-the-top publicity for a guy who is retiring and will never be seen again! By the way, see you next month, Bryan, when we need a cheap pop when the product is in a lull for some cosmically confusing reason."

I dont get why people are saying that Vince was a scumbag, the arm grab seemed odd, not in a playful way, specially since everyone around them looked shocked.
The plane and kofi incidents at least where people challenging the other one before the actual fight, and not in front of the camera when a wrestler did a grateful speech announcing his retirement
Ay least I cant wait until the newz says that Titus tríed to SHOOT Vince for the bounty hunt that he made for anyone that retired Bryan for good

This just seems so oddly fitting for Black History Month in 2016 WWE.
Funny enough, I enjoyed that little moment between Titus and Vince. Boy, was I wrong for humanizing Vince.

A lot of people were talking about it yesterday. I honestly thought nothing would come of it.
I even thought Vince liked him considering he has a ridiculous win record and is constantly highlighted as a talent.
