I use a separate web browser only for Facebook. I don't go to any other websites using that browser. From what I understand, if you stay logged-in to facebook (meaning you don't click sign-off every time you leave), facebook is able to track much of your browsing. Maybe I am wrong, but this would explain why some of the ads seem so tailored to you. That's targeted ads, yeah, it does track you for them. That's a bit different than trending topics though. They use every facet of your Facebook, but only your Facebook, for trends. I see.

Outside of a couple of RIPs (and I literally mean a couple, three max), I don't discuss wrestling (or much anything else) on my Facebook and it has popped up in trending several times. Same email registered to FB and here? That'll do it too. Or if you've logged into any (even slightly) wrestling related site/mobile game/whatever using Facebook for your authorization.

If you want to stay logged into FB you have to let them put their deliciously evil, tracking cookie-type thing on your comp. It's pretty standard actually (and unfortunately).

Most people, I'd assume, don't want to log on and off from Facebook every time. They just want to go there and be logged-in. That's why I only use Facebook on Firefox and I don't do any other thing on Firefox. I also never click on links on Facebook. If I absolutely must read further about something posted, I will just search for it on another browser or copy the link. I realize I'm probably going to more extremes than I need to, but whatever.

I also don't think that this is a pr disaster either. Its completely overblown by these boards. It was trending on facebook So what? That isn't a pr disaster, its not Hulk Hogan saying the n word. Its some curtain jerker who was being dimwitted. Its not Benoit murdering his family and getting a tribute show. Those are f***ing pr disasters.

It's still trending, i.e. more than just this board was talking about it. It's trending for you because YOU are talking about it. Welcome my son, welcome to the machine. Where have you been? Edit: It's alright. We know where you've been. I've only talked about it here, not anywhere else. and most of my friends are not wrestling fans.. From facebook.. So his suspension WAS popular. It was in my news feed because I like wrestling.

If 100,000 conversations each were going on about Beyonce, a snowstorm, Twilight and Kanye, and 200 conversations about Titus (when there's normally 2)... it would show you the Titus one. Because the trends are literally tailor-made for you!

My original post was a comment to someone who said that it was only a big deal to people on this board. Enough people cared about it on facebook for facebook to consider it a trending topic. Is it as big as Beyonce? No. But it's bigger than just this board. My whole point

So this thread is now surviving because two people are talking about how Facebook cookies work? Cool.

Imagine if Titus bought a ticket and was front row at RAW tonight. That would set facebook a buzz.

The main thing I take away from all of this is Joey Mercury has reappeared. Yeah and he apparently has enough pull with Vince to save someone from being fired. Who knew. Titus doesn't have much pull with Vince, though. #TugsAndHugs #FightForTite #AppealForTitusOneil

Yeah the Facebook thing is a little misleading at first given that it's really just reflecting what YOU'RE talking about a lot of the time. Outside of a couple of RIPs (and I literally mean a couple, three max), I don't discuss wrestling (or much anything else) on my Facebook and it has popped up in trending several times. If you've clicked the link to the trend, or any link related to wrestling even one time, that's added to the algorithm that decides what topics it will put on your specific feed.

I am simply saying there is a slightly significant audience outside of this board that posted about Titus O'Neil's suspension. It doesn't mean the world is talking about it, but does mean there were a a bunch of people talking about it on facebook...

To combo-breaker this Facebook back and forth, there's a story via Uproxx on Yahoo Sports talking about how Vince wanted to fire Titus but had to get talked down. It went up today.
Yeah, I know. Yahoo who cares. But proof this is a story that still going on.

Last explanation..
facebook has a algorithm that picks up on trending topics.
They then curate the topics to the people they think will like them.
So there were enough people talking about it to be considered trending by facebook, which then was curated to me
My only point is that Titus's suspension was popular enough for facebook to considar it trending. It's not because I talked about it. It's not because my friends were talking about it. It's because enough people posted about it for facebook to pick it up.

I think the only update on that particular story was that it was Triple H and Joey Mercury instead of just Triple H.
