Inspired by the thread about Brock vs Rusev at a house show. Personally I'd far prefer this as Brock's WM match to Brock vs Strowman as we have heard rumored. And I'm only assuming Brock would probably be the face in such a program based on the way things are currently going. And while I don't believe everyone Rusev works with would have to be a Sgt Slaughter style, made in the USA type of character, I actually can see ways that some elements of it could be incorporated into Brock for such a feud. Brock is, after all, a former NCAA champion, and a bit if a country boy at heart. He's held the top pro wrestling and MMA titles in North America. So while I couldn't picture Brock lugging an American flag to the ring, I could see him proclaiming himself the best representative to defend the USA's honor against Rusev. But I do prefer him as a heel.

Rusev resorting to anti American goon would be totally beneath him at this point, and Heyman trying his best to be some flag waving patriot would be as insincere as it would be comical.
Nope.

I'd rather tease Lesnar vs. Rusev under this pretense and then have a surprise Kurt Angle return.

Brock's too much of a monster for it to work. The patriotism gimmick works well when you are either the scrappy underdog driven by their patriotism, or a grand, heroic figure who fits an ideal. The overwhelming in vast quantities because even if the underdog is a good narrative place to come from, the idealism of patriotic superman remains wrestling's most iconic figure. But Brock is a big, selfish asskicker who just wants to hurt people for money. And people cheer him because he rocks in that capacity. He looks like a freak of nature and has a slimeball do all of his talking for him so that he can focus on just destroying everything in his path. Slap a flag on his trunks or act like he's doing this for the glory of his nation and not because he's basically a prize fighter who enjoys the fighting more than the prize, and it strains credibility. It's why Hogan, tended to have his biggest feuds in the '80s with guys his size or bigger. Lesnar is so much bigger than Rusev that it immediately shatters this proposed story into pieces.
Besides, Rusev's mystique is down to zero now; he's just a guy, and he loses to people regularly enough that nobody is going to buy him being treated like a force of nature again without some serious long-term rehabbing of his entire presentation.

No.
WWE is an international company.
I'm sure the patriotic stuff and evil foreogners plays well to Americans (in fact I know it does based on the crowd reactions). But to the rest of the world it comes off as incredibly cheesy, cheap and desperate.

I'd rather have Brock in a new version of the American Males.
Serious answer, I don't think it fits him, and the "all-American boy versus foreign stereotype" angle gets increasingly cringeworthy every time the company dredges it up again. It's 2016, the world's more connected via the mysterious magic of the interwebs and a far greater percentage of the audience is put off by the jingoism. We don't need to throw fuel on that dying fire any more.

The only acceptable "All American" gimmick is Jack Swagger and His Soaring Eagle.

The only acceptable "All American" gimmick is Jack Swagger and His Soaring Eagle. this. and even then it was over the top and corny. I get enough rah rah "murica" stuff as is. I can't imagine what it's like to be a fan not from this country and have to see the outdated silliness of it.

This would be a weird fit for a guy who currently resides in the middle of Saskatchewan.

You this is weird because a few days back I had a dream that as his video package response to hype up the Wrestlemania match, instead of the sitting down talking about urine thing he's been doing I imagined that instead what happened was the screen faded into the video with everybody expecting that, but then suddely what happens is instead we get Brock in a pastel suit holding a red Fender Strat walking up and down a beach singing Girls In Cars off of The Wrestling Album 2: Piledriver and is really over the top smiling and really getting into it and doing all the dance moves among these shots of girls in bikinis up and down the beach and Porsche cars driving up and around Miami like in the original video, with absolutely no showing of the old Brock or anything.
I imagined him introducing that to Ambrose or Reigns or HHH or whoever else he's going to face for the title presented without comment. Like he doesn't even have to be there, just have Chimel or somebody say here's his response to the challenge and then leave it at that for three weeks then just show up to Wrestlemania.
So I am behind this idea of the OP very much. Lets do this. American Positive Style.

Let's have him ride around in the Suplex Express after slamming Rusev. Then celebrate with all the boys in the ring after he beats Rusev by count out.

This would be a weird fit for a guy who currently resides in the middle of Saskatchewan. Tyson Kidd returns as a "Real Canadian" who calls Brock a Dirty American immigrant sneaking across the border.

nah. An All-American face, while having to look strong...also needs to show enough vulnerability. Hogan did this well...Lesnar doesn't. He looks flat out like a jakked up bully and killer and that's how he should remain,
