For most of us who follow sports, most teams have rivals. Which are the rivals that are not as known but really heated? This can even include cities/regions as well.
Some examples that would not fit this description: Lakers-Celtics Yankees-Red Sox Packers-Bears Michigan-Ohio St.
One rivalry that genuinely shocked me was Falcons-Saints (and really Atlanta-New Orleans). That shocked me. It took me going to both of these cities and seeing the hatred flow through them (and both cities hated me football wise because I am a 49ers fan).
I want to hear about international rivalries as well.

49ers and Cowboys. The boys vs giants, eagles and skins is widely known but people forget the history of awesome games between the two.
San Antonio vs LA Lakers. This one has seen some great playoff series and its mutual respect
A&M and Auburn. The two had played once prior to A&M joining the SEC. Neither has won a game while defending their home stadium vs the other. Usually very good games. Two blowouts A&M in Jerdan Hare in 12 and Auburn at Kyle in 15

Pacers-Heat still go at each other heard in the Post-Big 3 era.

For a while there in the mid- to late-1990s, few teams truly hated one another like the Miami Heat and New York Knicks. Their rivalry was a comet. It flashed, drew all of our eyes and attention, and was gone before you knew it. But that felt like one of the true rivalries in the NBA. Now with the AAU culture and the players all being chummy with one another because they want to form superteams, you don't have that passionate hatred anymore and probably won't ever see it again.

Sioux Falls Storm vs. Sioux City Bandits. The War on I-29. Bandits fans thought the Storm always cheated, Storm fans thought the Bandits fans were a bunch of crybaby assholes. First United Bowl back in 2005 was won by the 8-8 Storm over the 13-2 Bandits, 40-38. Hell, Sioux Falls lost to them 3 times in the regular season, by 7, 6, and 4. Granted the Storm has beaten them 19 games in a row since then, and they're in different leagues now, but still a heated rivalry.
Sioux Falls Storm vs. Billings Outlaws. This was always a war. Very heated rivalry.

Once upon a time, the Steelers and Jaguars hated each other.
I don't remember what started it exactly, but I think a Jag called up crazy Greg Lloyd and threatened him or his kid or something. But for a while, Steelers and Jaguars games were intense. And the home team always won for a long time.

The Rams/Seahawks game has been an interesting rivalry since Seattle joined the NFC West. Granted my hatred for the Seahawks today is nowhere near what it was even 5 years ago, they've had great matches including:
1.The Rams comeback against Seattle in Seattle in 2004. Trailed 27-10 in the 4th and won 33-27 in overtime.
2.The Rams became the first 8-8 team to win a playoff game beating the Seahawks in the 2005 Wild Card Game 27-20. Seattle won the NFC West that year but we swept them 3-0.
3.Seattle winning on a luck field goal by Josh Brown (54 yards) in 2006, 30-28. We were both 4-1 going into the game. Seattle went on to finish 9-7 winning the NFC West and narrowly losing to the Bears in the NFC Divisional Round. We went on to go 8-8 and missed the playoffs because of that loss.
4.Seattle beating the Rams in Week 17 of the 2010 season to win the NFC West 16-6.
5.The Monday Night Football game in St. Louis in 2013 where the Rams maybe had 30 people in attendance. Everyone thought we were going to get blown out because Bradford had just went down 2 weeks earlier and we started Kellen Clemons. We sacked Russell Wilson 7 times, rushed for 200 yards and held Marshawn Lynch to 8 carries for 23 yards, only to fall short 14-9 at the goal line off an incompletion.
6.The trick plays game in 2014. A fake punt and a fake return helped the Rams win.
7.Our last win as the St. Louis Rams was against the Seahawks in Seattle last season 23-17.
Seattle leads 19-10 since the series began in 2002 but 15 of the 29 games have been decided by a TD or less. Every game is intense and its been a physical battle every game.
A side note, not teams, but coaches. Jim Harbaugh vs Pete Carroll. From 2007 til 2014, they had a war. From the 2007 Stanford/USC game to the NFC Title Game in 2014.
2007: Stanford 24 USC 23 - Major upset. Stanford was a 40 point underdog.
2008: USC 45 Stanford 23 - Harbaugh went for a TD late when the game was over causing a collision post game with him and Pete.
2009: Stanford 55 USC 21 - USC gets buried at home and Harbaugh went for 2 up 48-21. Carroll asked him after the game, "What's your deal?"
2012: Seahawks 42 49ers 13 - Carroll gets his first win against Harbaugh in the NFL after losing the first 3 games and snaps his 5 game losing streak against him.
2014: Seahawks 23 49ers 17 - Seattle beats San Fran to advance to the Super Bowl, which they win 2 weeks later.
The series ended in a 6-6 tie.

Giants/49ers. You hear all about Big Blue's NFC East battles, but these two teams had epic showdowns and so many big games that have stretched parts of FOUR decades.

But for a while, Steelers and Jaguars games were intense. And the home team always won for a long time. Which reminds me, wasn't there a year or so in the late-2000s in which the Steelers and Titans were blood rivals? I remember a game in 2008 in which a few Titans players stomped on a Terrible Towel and Steelers fans went insane, like they had just burned the American flag or something. It was such a passionate hatred that the Titans and Steelers met in the 2009 Kickoff Game despite the fact that Tennessee wasn't all that good or much of a national draw.

Clippers vs Warriors has become the best rivalry in the NBA currently. It's just 2 young teams that hate each other, and will always give each other their best shots.

The past few seasons come playoff time, The Montreal Canadians vs. Ottawa Senators had a couple of very nasty playoff series against each other. Also from 2009-2014 the Blackhawks and Canucks had a pretty nasty rivarly going on

Hasn't been strong lately because both teams have been trash, but there is a traditionally healthy dislike between the Leafs and Flyers.

There use to be some serious heat between the Royals and the Yankees back in the day. Of course this rivalry faded into obscurity due to the Royals continuously wallowing in the lower ranks of the MLB.

Yes, those were must-watch, just to see at least one Donnybrook a game, especially if one team started running away with it. For quite a while in the '90s, the Blackhawks and Kings would always be at each other's throats. The only hockey game I ever attended has such a fight. 'Hawks up 3-1, Stu Grimson (of all people) taking the faceoff, didn't even bother gaining possession. Dude just backhanded the butt of his stick right in the other guy's jaw, knocking his opponent on his ass.
