Apollo sorely needs some character development and promo time. It feels like he's been off TV for like, forever until he ran in to save Gargano last week. It kind of amuses me he was all "when I come back you're going to see a different Apollo Crews" and it's pretty much the same blank slate smiley happy to be here Apollo Crews. Corbin should just attack him anytime he shows up. No blow off match, just keeps getting attacked. Crews comes back in a few weeks all smiley happy to be here. Gets attacked again. Rinse and repeat. I'd enjoy it.

I'd enjoy it. In general, it seems like ever since Charlotte, Becky, and Sasha got called up, people in NXT (except Baron Corbin) don't get character development anymore. We've had debut after debut after debut, with commentary basically saying "You already know who this is!" and leaving it at that. In the process, hardly anybody is getting promo time except the Tag Teams now. Instead of trying to squeeze 5 squashes (or 4 squashes and 1 semi-competitive match) into every show, cut 1 out and use that 5-6 minutes either for more backstage interviews with Alex Reyes/Rich Brennan, or with hype-building video packages like Balor and American Alpha have got...

Okay...I think it is officially time to drop Elias Sampson's drifter character, or at least the singing part of it.
Absolutely horrible.
I really like the guy, but this character is NOT working.

While the TakeOver: Dallas card is pretty stacked, the build for the matches have all been mostly lackluster. Thank you. Let me preface this by saying that the main roster has questionable build but at least there's build. A story like Bayley vs Asuka, you can do a lot of things with that, but instead we get a kind of kayfabe-breaking short video package? Come on now. I want to see Asuka terrorize Bayley. I want... something. It seems like I'm complaining a bit here and there about NXT but that's because I love it. It seems like they're resting on the reputation they've built and their ability to sign anyone they wish.

Crews definitelt should've gotten a video package since his and Riley's match was one of the advertised matches and especially since we don't know what he has been eating for breakfast for the last two months. For what it's worth, I like Crews as he is. Nothing wrong with being a white bread babyface and guys like him are generally the kind of wrestlers I root for (big, jacked guys who can still be athletic).

Tucker Knight looks like the legit got in better shape version of Bull-Fit. With Bullfit, I thought they'd do something like, after vignettes, he has a match, and has a fit guy come down, wins the match, then at the end they switch out and Bull gets the pin, does jumping jacks and acts like it was him the whole time. Tucker Knight would have been perfect for this.
