The little things that happen or are said that are hidden from the casual fan.
Gobbledy Gooker! There, that joke is dead.
So I mean things like how Ventura would always slam Joey Marella while doing commentary with Gorilla.
Or how at Survivor Series 90 the Ultimate Warrior teamed with "The Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich and the Road Warriors to form the Warriors and while the other 3 were never acknowledge as Warriors, it was for people who knew better.
What are some other, legit, Easter Eggs that have been thrown in throughout the years, that weren't part of storyline like the Machines or Mr. America?

Sasha Banks' attire for her Iron Man match against Bayley was a callback to her original indy attire's colour scheme. Made for a nice illustration of the journey up from the indies to being the first women's match to main event a WWE PPV.

Savage would wear colors that foreshadowed his match outcomes. Wm7 he wore white showing he was turning good. Wm8 he wore gold...

Puppet H saying "Yeah you better run, before I go all Marty Garner on you!"
In fact, Are You Serious was filled with in-jokes like that.

Savage would wear colors that foreshadowed his match outcomes. Wm7 he wore white showing he was turning good. Wm8 he wore gold... As well as WHAT BAR he was going to have backstage. Wrestlemania 8 he was enjoying a nice Pittsburgh Steeler's Bar With some lovely Ferrero Rocher Whereas at 7 he stuck to some Hershey's Kisses

The numbers on Dean Ambrose's "Ambrose Asylum" t shirt, 060214, reference June 2, 2014, the night Seth Rollins turned his back on his fellow Shield members.

The Rock considered Pat Patterson something of a mentor, apparently, and that is why he sometimes referred to his "pinebuster" instead of spinebuster in promos. Patterson, being French Canadian, has questionable English even after decades in the US, and this was an in-joke to that.
Foley would do the same from time to time, like saying someone was going to "go BANANA!" without using an S at the end, as Patterson routinely f***ed up pluralization, including for that expression.

Puppet H saying "Yeah you better run, before I go all Marty Garner on you!" In fact, Are You Serious was filled with in-jokes like that. Like after they showed Arachniman, Road Dogg said... sorry Brad. Since Arachniman was portrayed by Brad Armstrong, Road Dogg's brother.

During a segment about Gerald Brisco's mechanics shop, they said that Pat Patterson worked there part time, and he specialized in "rear end work."

Heenan's call of Hogan turning at Bash at the Beach. Heenan ALWAYS hated Hogan, regardless of alignments. Yeah. I never got how people say that Heenan screwed up the moment. If anything he added to it. The asshole weasel after all this time was right.

Curt Hawkings' cane was named Glen (Kane/Glen Jacobs reference) DiBiase's manservant was named Virgil as a shot at Dusty Rhodes (real name: Virgil Rhodes), to which Rhodes got revenge a decade later in WCW by naming him Vincent. Every single Halloween edition of Raw (to the best of my knowledge, I always listen for it and catch it), Jerry Lawler finds some way to work in the words "Wimp Buster," a super esoteric call-back to a Halloween edition of Memphis wrestling where Lawler sang his own version of the "Ghostbusters" theme titled "Wimp Busters" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f6w2bkeKvwHeenan's call of Hogan turning at Bash at the Beach. Heenan ALWAYS hated Hogan, regardless of alignments. Yeah. I never got how people say that Heenan screwed up the moment. If anything he added to it. The asshole weasel after all this time was right. Anyone who objects in anyway to Heenan's call is an internet contrarian who was neither watching at the time nor has any frame of context for the moment. There's absolutely no way Heenan wouldn't have such suspicions about Hogan, and him behaving in absolutely any other way would have blown the moment.

During a segment about Gerald Brisco's mechanics shop, they said that Pat Patterson worked there part time, and he specialized in "rear end work." There was also for a more similar Easter Egg, Gorilla Monsoon and the "Terry Garvin School of Self-Defense" (which may have been a dual-level Easter Egg.)

Bonus: The Choreographer "Anita Mann" in the credits from this IS an actual person, and not a lame Vince joke.

WCW would credit Dusty Rhodes for his job as booker man by referring to him in the closing credits for pay per views and Clash of The Champions broadcasts as Senior Producer Virgil Runnels.

On an episode of Raw, The Acolytes won Howard Finkle in a card game. Later on in the show when The Acolytes came out to the ring for their match, Howard Finkle was with them wearing a Hell's Henchman shirt, the original name of the team.

Daniel Bryan and John Cena's SummerSlam match had many of the same sequences as their Velocity match some 10 years prior.
