WWF Superstars was an hour and got about 5 or 6 angles pushed a show. ECW used to put 10 different personalities out there in 3 minutes with their old "Miserlou" closing promos. You can do a LOT in an hour if you actually plan your shows well. Hardcore TV was great. NXT could stand to get a little more experimental with the weekly shows like that.

Only if they take the hour from Raw.

No no no. A big appeal of NXT to me is that it's an hour long and you don't see everybody every week. The show flies by. If it's not broke, don't try to fix it. This. I like that appearances by the champs are infrequent enough to make them special, and you kind of have a rotating cast all the time (on top of people generally maxing it out at a couple of years in the organization, it seems). Almost gives me more time to appreciate when people like Apollo, Nia, Tomasso or Rich Swann do show up. And The Drifter isn't packed down my throat each week too, bonus! I almost feel like the show itself is indeed a bonus, and it's worked out well for them; one of the few things I wouldn t like them to change at the moment. It's a way for them to test TV-readiness for someone who's pretty advanced, sure, but everyone else can train in the Performance Center or on house shows. Worst case scenario, we have a raw (no pun intended) act whose first real match is on TV instead of a house show. I mean...I don't want them to shoehorn ZZ's first match or something cause we now have 2 hours. That's what I'm afraid of with a 2 hour show from developmental.

Only if the extra hour is subtracted from Raw.

The bigger problem with NXT is that both the "people worried about a two-hour show killing what makes NXT great" and the "people who think NXT needs two hours to give more talent some time to develop" ignore the fact that we have seen this whole act before.
Everyone was excited for Raw going to three hours that WWE would give more time to lowercarders, promote more NXT talent, and give more people time to get over and be more than jokes...and then, the WWE just filled that hour with more recaps of what went on earlier in the show and MAYBE one or two more promos, with the same stars who were in rotation beforehand.
If NXT went to two hours again, it won't lead to more Performance Center graduates getting time to shine (outside maybe some vignettes or promos here and there, and MAYBE one extra squash a week). You'll get the same good matches you get each week on NXT, but they'd just be longer and get close to Takeover-length and quality each week, with maybe slightly more rotation going in if they change it from three shows a taping to two shows a taping.

No that's one of the worst ideas I've ever heard, in fact it may be second to making RAW three hours.

At most it could be an hour and a half.

No. The weeks of squash matches mean the show still drags sometimes. The good episodes leave you wanting more. It's perfect how it is.

If they can't handle a three hour show what makes you think they can do two

No. WWE already has too many hours of programming each week. If RAW gets cut down to three hours, or of/when Total Divas or Smackdown get cancelled, then you can talk about maybe expanding NXT.

2 hours no? Just for the fact that some weeks the show really ain't even ok and the fact that it's only an hour long helps cover that
As others have said maybe an extra 15-30 mins but only if they used that time exclusively for character development. Promos/vignettes etc because I do agree with you 100% on the Vaudevillians as an example

Maybe an extra half an hour, hard to say.
Now that they've got to a point where the TV shows are filled 80-90% with Squash Matches every week, wanting to save all the "name-vs-name" matches for Takeover, it wouldn't help much to add extra time, certainly not an extra hour.
30 minutes could work if you're using it specifically for talents to help get their character over.

Absolutely. Then we could get a 20 minute promo every week to kick things off. And some bad comedy. And an over-pushed babyface that no one likes. Hell. Make it 3 hours.

Maybe not a second hour, but it might be time for another title belt. Especially with all of the recent and potential signings coming up. I agree with this, an NXT TV title would be perfect for the show. Especially since title defenses on the show are fairly rare. But no to going over an hour. Since Takeovers are only about every 3-4 months, the hour long shows help them drag things out.

An hour is perfect. They get to showcase their talent without overexposing them. It's good that Finn, Bayley, Asuka, Nakamura, etc. will get a week or two away from TV. It makes you excited to see them. Plus, it allows for everyone to shine. A few weeks ago, American Alpha and the Vaudevillains got to main event, which wouldn't happen if it was two hours and all of the top stars were on every week.
