Disclaimer: The vast majority, myself included, don't want him returning to the ring. We all know this. Let's not make this the focal point of the thread.
Anyway, for those that don't know the rumor is DB wants out of his WWE contract and an additional rumor is DB may be interested in returning to the ring possibly with NJPW.

New Japan won't even think about letting him step foot in a ring, Gedo's not Ditzy Carter.
The only thing they'd do is let him be a trainer for the Young Lions at The Dojo.

Weren't there rumors that the post concussion syndrome was so bad that he had convulsions?
A healthy Bryan is an asset no doubt, he basically relearned how to work in the la njpw dojo. He can do strong style if required. Hell a Tanahashi vs Danielson would be the biggest nerd boner in recent history.
I'm sad that just as he hit the "millionaires" club (a term jr and Cornette used for the main eventers), he had to retire. Hope that he at least can get mainstream media opportunities. The guy is pop culture, casual people know him, he had a Super Bowl commercial, Cena never got that.
I can see him getting a podcast, those pay really well, Brendan Schaub apparently makes more money with "the fighter and the kid" than fighting in the ufc.

Does anyone know how New Japan is about wrestlers' health issues like injuries, drug testing, etc.? This thread makes me curious.

Does anyone know how New Japan is about wrestlers' health issues like injuries, drug testing, etc.? This thread makes me curious. Some guys just ignore their injuries, like Ishii and Tanahashi, and are allowed to because they're needed. But Ibushi missed the entire 2014 G1 because he had a concussion, and Makabe vacated his title last year because...he had the flu. I think they're probably a bit lax compared to WWE but no one wants another Misawa on their hands so they're pretty good about things.

Yeah, you'd think Misawa would've shaken up things in Japanese wrestling in general with how high profile his death was. But then I see how rough Tanahashi looks sometime and I'm not sure.

Wwe are in a rock and hard place here just say they care about Daniel and keep him under contract people will say doing it to keep him and make money. If they released him imagine the worst happened and was paralysed in the ring or worse what's the first thing the media would bring up njpw/roh/tna/ajpw or wwe I can understand wwe not letting him go same reason they wont touch angle

They first would need to get way more English friendly with their website and network.
ROH would benefit far more.

It's really kind of impossible not to, though. I mean, it is the major flaw in any company allowing him to wrestle again. People will always be wondering if he should really be in the ring if they watch him wrestle again. It's going to make people uneasy. Perhaps a bit scared for him. That's not fun to watch.
