I saw it last night. I think over all it was perhaps better than "The Force Awakens" and "Rouge One"(I loved those films), BUT I have more issues with this movie than the other two Disney Era films combined. Is that weird? Right before the movie started some fool dropped something that shattered like glass in the row behind us. A few minutes later it was clear that it had been either a bottle or glass of wine and we ended up smelling it the entire show. They must have snuck it then as this theater does not sell alcohol. Also right as the Lucasfilm logo came on some joker a few rows in front of us let out a loud belch which got a number of laughs. Otherwise the crowd wasn't too rowdy. Are we allowed to post spoilers if we use the spoiler tag? Use the spoiler thread.

Seeing itt in about an hour. Happy to have this as a new Christmas tradition.
Hope the cinema leaves the lights down during the end credits. Might need a moment if there is a Carrie Fisher dedication.

Overall, I loved it. A lot of the creative decisions were very unexpected- it's as if Disney/Lucasfilm heard the complaints about Force Awakens over the callbacks to the original trilogy, and Rian Johnson tried to steer hard in an opposite direction. I can see why some fans would be bothered by them, but they left me extremely interested and hyped for Episode IX.
But I thought the twists actually worked, and added to the character arcs mostly. Plus the action, pacing and performances are still light years ahead of the prequels.

Saw it at the Imax theater at the Franklin Institute Science Museum here in Philly, so no trailers for me. And watching it projected on a massive four story dome definitely gave me a bit of vertigo. But yeah, after first viewing, Empire has serious competition for me.
