Please. No more redemption of mass murderers in the SW universe. I agree with not wanting that. Unfortunately, you can tell they are going to go this route. That's why they had Han and Leia talking about good still being in him. If he was just an evil sumbitch, they probably would have talked about how he's too far gone now instead. I'm getting sick and tired of SW trying to balance horrific crimes with "there's some good left in him". As if the 1% of good counters the 99% of sociopathic assholery. Compare that with Trek and how they treated Dukat. Yes he was charming and occasionally kind, but they never let the audience forget this guy was a psychopath who got a brutal comeuppance of eternal torment and punishment in what was basically Bajoran hell.

Just curious...was Leia's kid redeemed in the expanded universe? (not Kylo, I forgot his name, I recall he went full Sith)

His sister Jaina killed him in combat while he was fill Sith (Darth Caedus) but he reached out with the Force in his final moments to save her from being killed in a giant explosion or something. Sorta like Vader's redemption but much briefer - hell, she ran him thru the heart with a lightsaber so he was pretty far gone and, if anything, his redemption was a literal sliver of hope.

Some think that a teaser could be out on Friday There won't be a full trailer until Celebration in Orlando. Kathleen Kennedy said spring and I don't know if they want it to overshadow the current Rebels season.

was on twitter
It's probably not true. If it was MSW would be the first to have something about it like he did with TFA

I kinda like the theory that Snoke is the Jedi being referred to in the title

I hate Force users, so I'm hoping the Jedi, Snoke and the Knights of Ren are all destroyed.

I hate Force users, so I'm hoping the Jedi, Snoke and the Knights of Ren are all destroyed. Mandolorians, smugglers, and pilots unite. I wouldn't say I hate force users but I definitely enjoy guys like Wedge Antilles more. Probably why the Wraith Squadron series was my favorite book series for the longest time.

I just rewatched Force Awakens the other day since the hype train for TLJ has started.
Good, fun movie I thought. I hated Starkiller Base though. For a planet sized death gun that destroys other planets and eats stars it's really lame. The movie would have been better without it, the conclusion could be similar... just have Finn and Han rescuing Rey from a First Order prison and Poe been badass escorting them. Plus even though it destroyed like 6 planets, there was no emotional impact because none of the characters had ties to the planets and we didn't know the planets. They should have wiped out Tattooine, Coruscant or Kashyk. That would have made an impact.

Killing off a familiar planet would have definitely gotten fans in the feels. It also makes me wonder...where do they go from here? I'm assuming TLJ will be more of an intimate film but I can't see Episode 9 not having some sort of Uber Space Destroyer thing. Also, DOPE to see Poe get some love on the toy packaging. Trips me out we almost lost him in TFA.

It also took out what remained of the fleet of the new Republic.
The Resistance is now the only military left to fight the First Order and, they're not much. Losing Starkiller sucked for them but, it's pretty clear Snoke wasn't nearly as upset about losing it as Palpatine was about losing the first Death Star. They pretty much control the entire outer rim and unknown territories judging by the Aftermath and Bloodline novels. I have a feeling the First Order is much bigger than TFA let on.
I'm just so excited to see what Luke found in his travels and what he learned. The Doctor Aphra comics have done an amazing job of exploring some Jedi history but, I hope we get a comprehensive, new canon origin of the Jedi in TLJ. That would be mad. I just want this movie to be lore-heavy.

Until I read later that the planet was actually Hosnian Prime, I really thought Coruscant had been destroyed. And it shook me QUITE a bit. So I'll presume I wasn't the only one who got hit in the feels.

For the record, here's the official title of the movie in Portuguese: "Os Últimos Jedi", instead of "O Último Jedi". So, the "Last" in the original title seems to be a plural.

Whether it's plural or not, I think the Jedi are coming to an end. Whether by death or change of mentality and philosophy. Kind of a controversial take, but a lot of the new trilogy seems to be focused on the "grey median" between the lightside and the dark.
