I'm not even mad at this point. Wep, everyone was asking for it...and we got it. Oh boy, did we get it. Just read the Wiki synopsis, not having any interest in seeing this, and to be fair... {Spoiler} It comes off as Prime being brainwashed to believe that Earth is Unicron .

OK. As I don't really read current comics, I thought they were suggesting the Hydra thing was all a trap or red herring. So the answer is no, and Steve is a villain? And Optimus has NOT acted like a hero throughout this whole series. You have a problem with Batfleck's body count in BvS or the Super neck snap? See: Live Action Prime as a bloodthirsty murderer! I'm so glad that I got out after the first one. I was infuriated at that garbage, if I had watched Prime become this, I would have burned something down. One of the tenets of Prime's character is that he is, at the end of the day, a reluctant warrior. One who knows that he will likely be locked in a war for his entire life cycle, but one who yearns for peace, not just for himself, not just for his people, but for the universe. That's why "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" has resonated with fans since TF: The Movie. And now he's become this creature who's ok with destruction, and now is seeking it out just to restore Cybertron...it feels like a complete and total betrayal of what Prime is. And it doesn't seem like they're interested in taking any corrective action on that. It's sickening.

Midnight Review up... yeah they don't like it.
Also states the trailers completely misrepresent the movie. Trying to make it look "dark" when it's not at all.

The trailers made me interested. I always have hope for these movies, being a TF fan. Then.... I read a spoilerific run down of this movie. Nope. Michael Bay can't get away from this franchise fast enough for me. Spoiler for movie. {Spoiler}EARTH. IS. UNICRON!?

You've left me no choice" or something sappy like that first.

and Earth being Unicron doesn't do shit except A) give the bad guys a reason to try to destroy the Earth again, and B) setup Transformers 6

I usually find reboots to be cheap but man Transformers needs a reboot. Preferably an animated one Also [/quote] What in the name of sanity is happening in this picture?, It's like one of those Magic Eye pictures.

Prime isn't brainwashed into believing Earth is Unicron. Earth is in fact Unicron. Prime's just brainwashed into helping the heel
and Earth being Unicron doesn't do shit except A) give the bad guys a reason to try to destroy the Earth again, and B) setup Transformers 6 oh, don't worry. it could be worse. much, much worse. anybody remember the controversy that stirred up during filming over this: Michael Bay turning Winston Churchill's home into Nazi headquarters, decking it out in swastikas, and how some people in the UK were a bit miffed about the that? Bay defended it by stating: well... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}...Churchill ain't in the movie, except for maybe a brief shot of a picture of him along with other famous Knights of Witwicky like Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Tubman and Shia LeBeouf. and that scene added nothing to the plot of this movie whatsoever. the entire thing was, "Oh, by the by, Bumblebee was here helping the old boys defeat them nasty Nazi in WW II" (but Bumblebee acted like he had no memory of it). at first i though it was like Batman v Superman's Justice League cameos, with them just shoehorning it in to setup the Bumblebee spinoff because we gotta get the rest of the Transformers Cinematic Universe off the ground, but apparently no. that's no the case. according to an interview with one of the producers, the Bumblebee movie is going to be set in 1985, which makes the scene completely and utterly useless, and by extension, they created a controversy for absolutely no reason. at least the Unicron crap served somewhat of a purpose. oh, and remember the girl from the ads? the one they kept highlighting and showcasing? the one they solely dedicated this extremely godawful trailer on: she's only got about 15-20 minutes of total screentime. and during that time, her character adds nothing to the plot.

Big Transformers fan here, to the point I've gotten back into blowing money on figures (I'm 29 years young). But these Bay movies haven't ever done anything for me. Granted I've only seen the 4th one, which I only saw because it was the only movie showing at an Alamo Drafthouse, which I was more interested in experiencing than seeing the movie. The movie, which I might add was long and very boring. Regarding the spoiler most discussed in this thread about the Last Knight: {Spoiler}Playing devil's advocate, I will say Earth being Unicron isn't a terrible idea if it's explained properly. Transformers: Prime did the same story, which helped explain why Earth was so rich in dark energon and prominent in Cybertron lore.

One thing I have to laugh at is... {Spoiler}The whole thing about Optimus being a bad guy now? The one thing the film's entire marketing campaign is fixated on? He's only apparently bad for like five minutes or so.

I can't wait to hear Mark Kermode's review.
All his Bayformers reviews have been great so far

Transformers: Prime did the same story, which helped explain why Earth was so rich in dark energon and prominent in Cybertron lore. {Spoiler}Unicron isn't explained at all. the evil transformer creator lady tells Optimus the reason the Transformers are drawn to Earth is because its Unicron, and Optimus says "Unicron! Also What in the name of sanity is happening in this picture?, It's like one of those Magic Eye pictures. That's pretty much how I feel about these movies in general once two or more moving Transformers are on screen at the same time. Sometimes stationary ones too.

Hey, I'm just happy Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are consistently making big money from these things.
That's all I have to contribute and this and any other Transformers thread.
