WWE Live Event: October 4th, 2014 – Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode IslandTheme Song: "Survival" by Eminem
This WWE Network exclusive presentation opens with the camera panning around the dimly lit Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Booker T and Rich Brennan are handling commentary duties tonight and they send things to the ring to Kickstart the action.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – CODY RHODES (6) VS. THE MIZ (0); The crowd is pretty lively for the arrival of the “Prince of Pro Wrestling”, who has captured the hearts of fans with his red hot start in this tournament. Miz tries three rollups from the start, trying desperately to get his first two points but Cody Rhodes continually kicks out. Cody takes control, hitting some of his signature moves, like a gorgeous moonsault that he only gets a near fall on. Cody sets for Cross Rhodes, but Miz counters into a snapmare. Cody elbows out of the Skull Crushing Finale, sending Miz back. He tries the Disaster Kick but Miz avoids it. He then school boys Cody with a handful of tights to steal a victory. The Miz defeats Cody Rhodes in 4:38!
The Miz quickly slides out of the ring and throws his hands in the air in celebration. He has now moved ahead of Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and Chris Jericho, who remain winless. Cody Rhodes sits up in the ring, looking absolutely disappointed in himself. He entered tonight’s event tied for first but has now suffered his first loss. Miz continues to enjoy his win as he heads to the back.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – BAD NEWS BARRETT (2) VS. SHEAMUS (0); The two Authority members and friends go up to each other and talk at the bell. It seems like the Intercontinental Champion is trying to get Mr. Money in the Bank to lay down for him. Sheamus puts up two fingers, saying that Barrett already has two points to his none. Barrett declines and nails a right hand. The two exchange some big blows, showing that they won’t be holding anything back despite their alliance. Barrett survives White Noise before hitting the Winds of Change. Barrett only gets two, so he stands up and turns the elbow pad inside out. He swings for the Bull Hammer but Sheamus ducks, runs off the ropes and hits the Brogue Kick. He covers, earning the 1-2-3. Sheamus defeats Bad News Barrett in 10:08!
There is a mixed reaction from the WWE Universe at the sound of the bell. Throughout the match they didn’t seem sure of who to cheer for, with the same being the case at the outcome. Sheamus snatches his Intercontinental Title and holds it high in the air before being handed his blood stained steel chair. He, like the Miz earlier, is finally on the board with two points.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – ROMAN REIGNS (6) VS. SAMI ZAYN (4); A highly anticipated match closes out the special tonight. Much like he did before his match with John Cena, Sami shows respect. Instead of a handshake, it’s more of a quick low five. Once things get going, it is the powerhouse/resilient underdog fight that one would expect. Roman Reigns is dominant at times, but something about Sami Zayn just shows that he never gives up. Sami, despite taking a beating, is able to hoist Reigns up for a Blue Thunder Bomb and one of the closest near falls in the entire tournament. Reigns gets up in the corner and Sami is across the ring. He runs in and connects with the Helluva Kick. The crowd goes nuts as he covers but Reigns gets his foot on the bottom rope. Sami is in disbelief. He goes back to the corner, trying it one more time. Reigns is ready, stepping forward with a huge Superman punch. Sami staggers back to the ropes, bounces off and is nailed with a spear. That is enough to keep him down. Roman Reigns defeats Sami Zayn in 15:14!
Cheers rain down from the Providence faithful who appreciate the performances by both men. A tired Roman Reigns gets to his feet and has his hand raised, earning his fourth straight win. With Cody Rhodes’ loss earlier, Reigns moves into sole possession of first place. Sami Zayn struggles to his feet, but Reigns helps him. He pats him on the back and offers a fist bump. Sami accepts and then raises Roman’s hand.
1. Roman Reigns (8 points) 2. John Cena (6 points) 2. Cody Rhodes (6 points) 3. Adrian Neville (4 points) 3. Dean Ambrose (4 points) 3. Sami Zayn (4 points) 3. Seth Rollins (4 points) 3. Sheamus (2 points) 4. Bad News Barrett (2 points) 4. The Miz (2 points) 5. Alberto Del Rio (0 points) 5. Chris Jericho (0 points)

Finally, a round robin tournament in WWE! It's looking more and more like it'll be Cena vs. Roman in the finals (with Roman likely getting the duke and that final push before facing Lesnar) but the tournament has got my interest.

WWE Live Event: October 5th, 2014 – PPL Center in Allentown, PennsylvaniaTheme Song: "Survival" by Eminem
Like all of these Survival Trial WWE Network specials, this kicks off with a shot of the arena. Tom Phillips and Renee Young bring the action to the fans, introducing the show. They recap the events from last night in Providence where Miz and Sheamus picked up their first wins, while Roman Reigns stayed unbeaten.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – ADRIAN NEVILLE (4) vs. SETH ROLLINS (4); So far, Adrian Neville has beaten Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose, but lost to Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins lost to Dean Ambrose before beating Miz and Sheamus. Both men have similar backgrounds, being highly touted independent wrestling prospects known for their aerial ability. That is exactly the skill that both men showcase during this bout. The back and forth is so quick that it’s hard to keep up. Seth scores with a springboard flying knee, only for Neville to answer with a springboard 450 splash for two. Seth attempts the Curb Stomp but Neville avoids it and sweeps his leg out. He climbs to the top though Seth is up and superplexes him down. Seth gets up first, hitting a superkick when Neville gets to his knees. Looking to finish this in the sky, Seth goes up top and nails a gorgeous Phoenix splash for two points. Seth Rollins defeats Adrian Neville in 12:02!
A wounded Seth Rollins gets to his feet and celebrates, now moving into a tie with Cody Rhodes and John Cena for six points and second place. Adrian Neville holds his ribs as he gets up and Seth exits through the crowd. Dean Ambrose comes out, ready for his upcoming match as he tries to tie Seth.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – CHRIS JERICHO (0) VS. DEAN AMBROSE (4); Chris Jericho is winless after losses to Cody Rhodes, Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn, while Dean Ambrose has bested Seth Rollins and Alberto Del Rio before losing to Neville. The other winless guys entering this weekend, Sheamus and Miz, both got on the board, and Jericho looks to join them. Ambrose comes out firing, hitting Jericho with some big offense early on. He comes close to a surprisingly quick win with a double arm DDT that Jericho barely gets a shoulder up on. A beautifully placed enziguri swings the momentum for Jericho though. Jericho uses that to trigger a great run that ends with him hitting the Codebreaker to earn his first win. Chris Jericho defeats Dean Ambrose in 6:40!
Chris Jericho basks in his victory, knowing that he’s finally on the scoreboard. He has his hand raised by the official and leaves. Dean Ambrose is clearly frustrated in the ring, having lost back to back matches after starting the tournament 2-0. He needs to right the ship soon if he wants to stay alive.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – ALBERTO DEL RIO (0) VS. JOHN CENA (6); These guys have had opposite tournaments. Alberto Del Rio has lost all three matches, against Bad News Barrett, Cody Rhodes and Dean Ambrose. John Cena has started 3-0, beating Miz, Sami Zayn and Sheamus. There is a history between these men, but Cena offers a handshake. Del Rio kind of just slaps it, clearly frustrated at his recent slump. Tom Phillips reminds us that Del Rio has a huge Untied States Title defense ahead of him in 24 hours on Raw against the Big Show. Del Rio seems to be looking past tonight a bit as Cena gets off to a really good start. Del Rio focuses up and gets two on a big superkick. He goes for the Cross Armbreaker, but Cena blocks it by holding onto the top rope. Del Rio tries another kick but Cena dodges it, hoists him up and plants him with the Attitude Adjustment before the official counts to three. John Cena defeats Alberto Del Rio in 13:11!
Alberto Del Rio remains the only winless Superstar in the Survival Trials, while John Cena scores his fourth straight win. Not only does this put Cena atop the standings, but he’s now tied with Roman Reigns. For those that may have missed the schedule, tomorrow night on Raw, Cena and Reigns meet for the very first time. Alberto Del Rio continues to struggle, being unable to apply the seemingly unbreakable Cross Armbreaker. The bigger though, is indeed the showdown tomorrow between Reigns and Cena.
1. Roman Reigns (8 points) 1. John Cena (8 points) 2. Cody Rhodes (6 points) 2. Seth Rollins (6 points) 3. Adrian Neville (4 points) 3. Dean Ambrose (4 points) 3. Sami Zayn (4 points) 4. Sheamus (2 points) 4. Bad News Barrett (2 points) 4. The Miz (2 points) 4. Chris Jericho (2 points) 6. Alberto Del Rio (0 points)

First time ever! The Survival Trials has been one of the most exciting tournaments in WWE history. After two weeks and four matches, only men stand undefeated. 14 time World Champion John Cena and the "juggernaut" of the Shield, Roman Reigns. These two have never met one on one in history, but that all changes tonight. Many people have claimed that Reigns is the next big star in the WWE, but can he overcome the current "face that runs the place?" The winner of this match will be the first man to ten points and reach a commanding 5-0 start. Also on tap is a battle between Bad News Barrett and Adrian Neville, as well as Seth Rollins taking on Sami Zayn for the very first time! Tune into Raw tonight at 8E/7C to catch all of this action!

Monday Night Raw: October 6th, 2014 – Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York
Before any opening video package can play, we are taken to a recap of last week’s main event between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton. Bryan won to earn a WWE Tag Team Title shot and the returning CM Punk appeared to help save him from the Authority. Also, clips are shown of the dual 4-0 starts by Roman Reigns and John Cena in the Survival Trials because they meet for the first time ever tonight. Also, Seth Rollins will face the newest sensation in the WWE, Sami Zayn!
“Cult of Personality” plays over the speakers as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan walk out to the stage to a huge roar from the WWE Universe. The “Best and the Beard” look like they’re walking with a purpose as Michael Cole reminds us that they have an upcoming WWE Tag Team Championship shot. When they enter the ring, Punk gets on the microphone and addresses the Authority. “Many of you probably thought that after beating Triple H at SummerSlam, I was done with the Authority. I thought that too, but then Stephanie McMahon didn’t learn her lesson.” Punk mentions that while he’s still not sold on Triple H’s change of attitude, Stephanie has been the thorn in the side of guys like himself and Daniel Bryan. “Last week, when Bryan had the idea to go after the Tag Team Titles, he gave me a call. With Raw being in Chicago, I was close by and decided to have his back. So when Bryan beat Randy Orton for, what, the hundredth time? It gave us a title shot. Now, we’ve spent the better part of the week trying to decide when was the best time to take down Randy Orton and Batista.” Daniel Bryan chimes in now, saying that at first, they were thinking of doing this tonight. The crowd cheers at that. “Unfortunately, when I got to the arena, I found out that I would be facing Sheamus instead. Now, I don’t have any issue with that, but we had to put our heads together once again.” Before Bryan can say anything else, the music of Randy Orton plays as the WWE Tag Team Champions step out onto the stage, with the rest of the Authority flanking them. Orton speaks first, saying that the words of Punk and Bryan are irrelevant. “You need to understand that facing us is a bad idea. You think you won something last week, but all you’ve guaranteed is a potential career ending situation.” Batista reminds Punk and Bryan of what happened to the Usos, Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston and the tandem of John Cena and Roman Reigns. Punk straight up tells Batista to shut up, which angers the “Animal.” Punk says that they are taking their title shot at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View. Batista says that’s fine with them. Bryan stops them before they leave and says he wants to up the ante. “Last year, Randy Orton got lucky and beat me in the Hell in a Cell because of Shawn Michaels. This year, let’s make history. Punk and I against the two of you inside the Hell in a Cell!” The crowd goes nuts as Jerry Lawler puts it over as the first ever tag team Hell in a Cell match. Orton and Batista talk it over, then Orton says something to Sheamus, who nods. Orton accepts the match and promises to finish what he started at last year’s Hell in a Cell. Punk and Bryan fist bump, knowing they got what they wanted.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – SAMI ZAYN (4) VS. SETH ROLLINS (6); Much like most of Sami Zayn’s Survival Trial matches so far, this one has a buzz about it. Possibly due to their past in Ring of Honor, the two men shake hands before the bell. They follow up with a high octane, fast paced match that wows the WWE Universe. They seem to be getting behind Sami more and more. He avoids a springboard knee from Rollins, bounces off the ropes and hits a big dropkick, followed by a gorgeous dive to the outside. He’s fired up as he rolls Seth inside. Seth struggles to get up but manages to dodge the Helluva Kick. Seth hits a bridging German for two and tries a superkick. Sami catches the foot and shoves him back into the corner. He charges in, nailing the Helluva Kick and picking up the win. Sami Zayn defeats Seth Rollins in 10:25!
The WWE Universe comes to their feet as Sami Zayn picks up another huge win on Raw. In the past three weeks he has beaten Sheamus, taken John Cena to the limit and now bested Seth Rollins. Sami celebrates another two points, putting him in a tie for second place behind Roman Reigns and John Cena, along with Rollins. Rollins doesn’t look happy, heading out through the crowd without looking back at Sami, clearly frustrated.
Renee Young is standing by backstage with the United States Champion, Alberto Del Rio. She asks him about his recent struggles, being the only man without a win in the Survival Trials. Del Rio admits that it has been a very rough patch but he’s not out of it yet. Renee then asks about his literally huge title defense against Big Show tonight. Del Rio responds by saying that something like tonight is what he needs to get back on track. “I know that this title is on the line. Not only that, but it was Big Show that I beat to become World Heavyweight Champion last year. I told everyone that if I slap on the Cross Armbreaker, my opponent will tap out. I will lock it on the Big Show tonight and keep my title. I will lock it on my upcoming opponents in the Survival Trials. If it comes down to it, I will lock it on Brock Lesnar and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.” THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS VS. RYBAXEL; While the Prime Time Players have had a pretty successful string of wins since reuniting, Rybaxel has been on the opposite trend. Tensions continue to run high with Curtis Axel refusing to tag out to Ryback throughout the match. This clearly pisses off the “Big Guy” and ends up being their downfall. Axel falls victim to the Clash of the Titus and Ryback just watches as he gets pinned. The Prime Time Players defeat Rybaxel in 2:50!The fans cheer the win by the Prime Time Players, who do their trademark “Millions of Dollars” dance before exiting the ring. Ryback steps inside, looking down at Curtis Axel. He does help Axel up, but just gets shoved away. Ryback seems upset, but tries again only to get shoved. The fans boo as Axel storms off and Ryback is left fuming.
The music of AJ Lee hits as the former WWE Divas Champion skips down to the ring. While she does, we are taken to a recap from the historic Divas Smackdown episode this past Friday night. AJ got a Women’s Title shot at Paige, only to have the match interrupted by the Bella Twins. Paige and AJ then came to blows and had to be separated by officials to close out the show. When the footage ends, she’s in the ring with a microphone. AJ is glad that video was shown because it’s the reason that she’s out here. “For 337 days, I was the single best woman in this company. I called myself the best Diva in the world and it was a fact that I proved night in and night out. I already admitted that things changed when Paige showed up but on Divas Smackdown, I know that I was going to win back my title until those damn Bella bitches came out and stuck their prissy little noses where it didn’t belong.” She continues by saying that nothing got resolved on Smackdown and that she’s still tied with Paige. This brings out the current WWE Women’s Champion, Paige, to a chorus of cheers. She has a microphone already, talking as she walks down to the ring. She says that she was going to come out here and say the same thing. “The Bella Twins don’t seem to grasp that this division isn’t about them. Tonight, they apparently off at some film premiere or some nonsense, but I say you and I put our differences aside for one night. This Friday on Smackdown, we take on the Bella Twins. What do you say?” The crowd pops as the women are face to face now. AJ accepts the offer but isn’t done. “You’re not stupid Paige, you have to know that I’m out here for more than revenge on the Bellas. I want that belt. I want to settle the score and prove once and for all, who the best really is. Let’s do this one final time, at Hell in a Cell.” More cheers from the audience as Paige seems to approve. She agrees but stops AJ before she leaves. “Wait a minute. Even if we teach the Bella Twins a little lesson on Smackdown, they never learn. They’ll try to get involved again. To keep them out, I have an idea. At Hell in a Cell, why don’t we take care of business IN the Hell in a Cell.” Michael Cole nearly has a heart attack, shouting that this is history in the making. AJ gives a wicked smile, nods and skips off. This past Friday they tried to tear each other apart, tonight they have mutual respect, this Friday they team up and at Hell in a Cell they become the first women to enter Satan’s Structure! “Oh my god” says Cole.
Returning, Renee Young is again backstage, but this time with the WWE Intercontinental Champion Sheamus. She asks him about facing Daniel Bryan tonight and the Survival Trials. Sheamus gives a small laugh and says that a guy like Daniel Bryan isn’t someone that he worries about. “Daniel Bryan is a lot like Dolph Ziggler. A small, scrawny little fella that doesn’t hold a candle to someone like me. I mean, you all remember what happened to Dolph Ziggler when he went up against me.” Sheamus holds up the blood stained steel chair and winks at says that he may add Bryan’s blood tonight. WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – ALBERTO DEL RIO (C) VS. BIG SHOW; Both guys are faces, but the fans seem more behind Alberto Del Rio. Big Show notices this as he delivers some loud chops and clubs, seemingly getting angrier as things go on. He lets it get to him a bit too much, opening the door for Del Rio to start getting in some kicks to the arm. Every attack is focused on that body part. Del Rio calls for the Cross Armbreaker, which he hasn’t been able to slap on in the Survival Trials. He gets it on here and wrenches deep, as Show taps out to end things. Alberto Del Rio defeats Big Show to retain the WWE United States Championship in 4:18!Brooklyn is full of excited fans who pop for the win by Alberto Del Rio. He is finally able to pick up a win since the start of the Survival Trials and remain the WWE United States Champion. The key now is to see if he can move that success over to the Survival Trials tournament. Del Rio asks for a microphone and instantly says that he’s back in business. “My focus is on the Survival Trials, but don’t think I forgot about you, Alexander Rusev. You want this title? You come and get it whenever you want perro, because I just showed the world that once I apply the Cross Armbreaker, everybody taps. Even if you’re undefeated.” Adrian Neville is shown warming up in the back for his match against Bad News Barrett. The Miz comes up to him, riding high after his first Survival Trial victory this past weekend, flanked by Summer Rae. Miz brags about that win, which came against the previously unbeaten Cody Rhodes. He reminds Neville that they are scheduled to meet at Hell in a Cell. “I just wanted to let you know that after I beat you, there are no hard feelings. In fact, I actually want to help you out. You have a lot of potential, but you got no personality.” Neville gives an annoyed look, trying to ignore Miz. Miz powers through, saying that he helped Daniel Bryan again personality when he showed up in the WWE and now he’s one of the brightest stars. Miz says that he can make Neville a massive Superstar that can get girls like Summer Rae. They leave, and Neville seems to be pondering it as he checks out Summer walking away.
We are taken to a short video package discussing the WWE’s partnership with Susan G. Coleman in their quest to raise money for breast cancer awareness month. NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. SHEAMUS; Both men are out alone, which is surprising in the case of Sheamus. He means business tonight, charging at Daniel Bryan from the bell and just wailing on him with huge shots. He nails the Beats of Bodhran and poses for the fans, who used to love that move, but now boo it mercilessly. Bryan starts getting in a bit of a rally, but makes a mistake when his suicide dive is avoided and he crashes near the announce table. Sheamus picks up his blood stained steel chair to the dismay of many. The referee tries to stop him but he holds it high in the air, looking to strike. Suddenly, Dolph Ziggler’s music plays as he charges out to a huge pop. Sheamus is surprised but swings the chair. Dolph ducks and tackles him to the ground, resulting in the disqualification. Sheamus defeats Daniel Bryan via disqualification in 5:12!As the crowd goes wild, Dolph Ziggler fires away with a flurry of right hands on the Intercontinental Champion. Dolph gets up and grabs the blood stained steel chair, holding it high in the air, bringing the fans even more to their feet. Randy Orton and Batista make their way down to the action, with Batista leveling Ziggler and preventing him from using the chair. This of course brings out CM Punk to even the odds. All five men brawl on the outside, while Daniel Bryan rolls in the ring. He sees this happening, runs off the ropes and takes out everyone with a suicide dive. The Authority retreats as Punk, Bryan and Ziggler get in the ring. The crowd is red hot as their heroes dare the Authority to get back in and fight them.
An ad airs to promote the upcoming Edge and Christian WWE Network special. This Friday is the 15th Anniversary of Smackdown and right after the show ends, Edge and Christian will celebrate the history of the show only on the WWE Network. In the back, the Shield is shown as Roman Reigns is preparing for his huge match tonight by doing some chin ups. He stops and tells Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins that he’s kind of glad they aren’t allowed at ringside. “Not because of anything personal, but because this is the biggest match of my life to this point and I want to prove to everyone that I can beat John Cena.” Ambrose pats him on the back and Seth says that he hopes Roman wins tonight. “Not only because you’re my brother, but because I’d like you to be undefeated when we meet at Hell in a Cell.” Roman gets in Seth’s face but no more words are exchanged as Ambrose steps in between them and keeps things cool. SURVIVAL TRIALS – ADRIAN NEVILLE (4) VS. BAD NEWS BARRETT (2); Both guys are coming off of losses this past weekend in the Survival Trials. Adrian Neville lost to Seth Rollins, while Bad News Barrett dropped a fall to his Authority partner Sheamus. Surprisingly, it is Neville that holds serves early and often here. He manages to avoid most of Mr. Money in the Bank’s big shots and connect on his high flying stuff. He is unable to keep Barrett down however. His high flying style costs him though, as he springboards right into the Bull Hammer, earning Barrett two points. Bad News Barrett defeats Adrian Neville in 6:38!Bad News Barrett gets up, knowing that he now has four points, and raises his arms in victory. He snatches his Money in the Bank briefcase from ringside and holds it high while leaving.
The inspirational music of Bo Dallas plays as he makes his way out to the ring. He gets in to a chorus of boos before speaking. He talks about the WWE United States Title match from earlier tonight. He says that he has told Big Show for months that he should be at his side. “Silly Big Show. If you would have just Bolieved, you would be the current United States Champion. Instead, you must now walk around the locker room with your held hanging in shame. One of the things that truly embodies a Boliever is the fact that we never give up. Tonight though, you gave up. The World’s Largest Athlete submitted to a man of much smaller stature. That’s gotta be embarrassing. So what I’m out here to do, is give you one more shot to join me.” Bo has a big smile, which starts to fade as the seconds tick away and Big Show doesn’t come out. Then, to the surprise of everyone, we hear “IF YA SMELLLL!” The Rock steps out onto the Raw stage to a thunderous ovation from the WWE Universe. Michael Cole and the rest of the commentary team is in complete disbelief. The Rock soaks in the warm reception and basks in it for an extended period of time before heading to the ring. The fans chant “Rocky” as he stands in front of a star struck Bo Dallas and begins to speak. “FINALLLLLY THE ROCK…HAS COME BACK…TO BROOKLYN!” The Rock talks about the history of his appearances in New York for the WWE. “The Rock has faced Triple H here. The Rock has faced John Cena here. The Rock has even faced Stone Cold Steve Austin here. But this is a first. This is the first time that the Rock shares a WWE ring with a Superstar that hasn’t gone through puberty.” The crowd laughs at this and Bo even gets a chuckle. Rocky continues to run down Bo, saying he’s never even had pie, to which Bo responds that he has, but Rock says he only thinks so and must have it confused with strudel. Bo interrupts him, earning himself a loud “KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!” Bo gets pissed now, demanding to know why the Rock is interrupting such a monumental moment. Rock laughs, saying that the only huge thing about a partnership between Bo and Big Show is Big Show’s ass. “The Rock is not out here to mess with your plans, he’s just out here to give the millions….and millions of the Rock’s fans a chance to see him. The Rock likes to give back to the WWE Universe and if the Rock is in town, then the Rock will be at Raw.” Bo gives a sly smirk and seems to have an idea. He asks the Rock what he was doing in town. The Rock goes to respond, but Bo jumps in with “IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU WERE DOING IN TOWN”. The fans laugh and the Rock himself seems to appreciate the rib. The Rock goes to respond but stops mid-sentence and plants Bo with a Rock Bottom! He adds the People’s Elbow for good measure before stepping outside and celebrating with the fans, who are more than appreciative of seeing the “most electrifying move in sports entertainment.”
Before going to commercial, a Tale of the Tape is shown for the main event, sizing up the battle between John Cena and Roman Reigns. Physically, they are pretty evenly matched but the list of accomplishments absolutely favors the fourteen time World Champion, John Cena.
ALICIA FOX AND SUMMER RAE VS. EMMA AND NATALYA; On Divas Smackdown this past Friday, Natalya bested Summer Rae, while Emma spoke backstage and said that she’s tired of being overlooked. It shows here tonight as she doesn’t even really tag in Natalya. She does well against Summer Rae, but eats a big kick. Summer tags in Alicia, but she struggles with Emma. Emma hits a series of offensive moves, capping it with the Emma-Lock and making Alicia tap. Emma and Natalya defeat Alicia Fox and Summer Rae in 2:48!Natalya enters the ring with a disgruntled look on her face despite the win. Emma has her hand raised but Natalya is clearly put off by not being tagged in at any point. Emma does give her a hug, smoothing things over a bit, but there seems to be more going on here.
Backstage, John Cena is in his locker room warming up. Suddenly, Cody Rhodes enters the picture to a pop. Cena stands up and comes face to face with him. Cody says that he’s not here for any problems tonight. “I just wanted to wish you luck out there tonight. Miz stole one from me this weekend and if it wasn’t for that, I’d be tied with you and Roman Reigns. I want you to win tonight. Just like Seth Rollins told Roman Reigns earlier, I want you unbeaten when we meet at Hell in a Cell.” Cody says that since splitting from his brother, he plans on making 2015 his year and it starts in 2014 by winning the Survival Trials. Cena seems impressed before responding and telling Cody that he sees a lot of potential in him. “You have future World Champion written all over you. But like my theme song says, my time is now. If you think you’re just going to walk into Hell in a Cell and beat me when there’s a shot at Brock Lesnar and the WWE Title on the line, then you’ve got another thing coming. This is the big leagues now boy.” Cody backs out of the room, again wishing Cena good luck.
Commentary reminds everyone that today is the birthday of WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino. The man who sold out Madison Square Garden, the home of SummerSlam next year, turned 79 today. CODY RHODES VS. TYSON KIDD; This works as a bit of a warmup for Cody Rhodes, who is off from Survival Trials action tonight. Tyson Kidd is no slouch though, with an accomplished past as well as a recent string of success in NXT. He continues to show off a very arrogant side, while Cody gets the crowd very much behind him. Kidd gets in a fair amount of offense, but Cody finds a way to overcome it. He scores with the Disaster Kick and gets the three count. Cody Rhodes defeats Tyson Kidd in 4:00!The bell rings and the fans give a loud ovation. Cody Rhodes pumps his fist in victory. He has now regained some of his momentum after the tough loss to the Miz this past weekend. “You have to think that Cody Rhodes has never been more ready for a clash with John Cena at Hell in a Cell. However, he can’t look past this Friday, when he meets Dean Ambrose in a Survival Trials match” says Michael Cole.
We are now taken to a notice that tomorrow night, only on the WWE Network, the Survival Trials continues. The WWE Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus, goes one on one with the Miz!
We go backstage for the final time tonight, as Bad News Barrett is getting ready to leave. Renee Young catches up to him and says that she has some news for him. He sighs and says that whatever she has to say can wait because he’s riding high after winning tonight. He goes to leave but Renee says that Chris Jericho has requested that he be a guest on the Highlight Reel next Monday night. Barrett stops and turns around. He mulls it over before saying he accepts, but “I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS!” Barrett claims that it will be their last time being face to face before he destroys him at Hell in a Cell. SURVIVAL TRIALS – JOHN CENA (8) VS. ROMAN REIGNS (8); I can’t recall a Raw main event with a bigger fight feel in quite some time. The fans completely buy into this as a clash of the titans deal. They seem to be in the corner of Roman Reigns more than John Cena, cheering whenever Roman overpowers him or gets the upper hand. Cena plays into the fact that he’s the experienced veteran that has been to the top of the mountain. He realizes that Reigns has a speed advantage and is a bit jacked up, so he allows him to overplay his hand and make a mistake. Cena takes over, hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle. He connects with the Attitude Adjustment but Reigns gets a shoulder up. Cena is stunned and gets in the official’s face to discuss it. He turns around right into a Spear, but is able to put his foot on the bottom rope. Reigns is now the stunned one, but instead of talking to the referee, he looks to strike again. Cena avoids a second Spear and Reigns hits the post. Cena rolls him up for two and once Reigns is up, Cena hoists him for another AA. Reigns manages to land on his feet, hit the ropes and duck a clothesline. He comes off the other ropes and connects on a second Spear to end the match. Roman Reigns defeats John Cena in 12:16!The WWE Universe comes to their feet in approval of the great match that we just saw. Both men are tired but it is Roman Reigns that moves to 5-0 in the tournament and picks up the biggest victory of his young career. While Reigns celebrates, John Cena begins to stir and looks up at him. They come face to face and Cena extends his hand, which Reigns accepts. Cena raises Reigns’ arm in a show of respect.
1. Roman Reigns (5-0, 10 points) 2. John Cena (4-1, 8 points) 3. Cody Rhodes (3-1, 6 points) 3. Sami Zayn (3-2, 6 points) 3. Seth Rollins (3-2, 6 points) 4. Dean Ambrose (2-2, 4 points) 4. Adrian Neville (2-3, 4 points) 4. Bad News Barrett (2-3, 4 points) 5. Sheamus (1-3, 2 points) 5. Chris Jericho (1-3, 2 points) 5. The Miz (1-3, 2 points) 6. Alberto Del Rio (0-4, 0 points)

WWE Main Event: October 7th, 2014 – Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania SURVIVAL TRIALS – THE MIZ (2) VS. SHEAMUS (2); With both men starting the tournament 0-3 before picking up wins this past weekend, they are looking to continue the forward movement. Sheamus seems to be extra aggressive with the return of his arch rival Dolph Ziggler last night. He does his best to take out his frustrations on the Miz with some heavy handed blows. Miz nearly sneaks away with the win in similar fashion to how he bested Cody Rhodes over the weekend, but Sheamus kicks out of the rollup. Once they get up, Sheamus nearly takes his head off with a Brogue Kick. He covers the Miz to earn two more points. Sheamus defeats the Miz in 6:55!The loud, angry Irishman gets up and throws his arms in the air. Despite the return of Dolph Ziggler last night on Raw, Sheamus is able to hone in and pick up his second straight win the Survival Trials. He now has four points, while the Miz stays with two. Sheamus grabs his Intercontinental Title and steel chair, heading off with Ziggler in his sights.
1. Roman Reigns (5-0, 10 points) 2. John Cena (4-1, 8 points) 3. Cody Rhodes (3-1, 6 points) 3. Sami Zayn (3-2, 6 points) 3. Seth Rollins (3-2, 6 points) 4. Dean Ambrose (2-2, 4 points) 4. Adrian Neville (2-3, 4 points) 4. Bad News Barrett (2-3, 4 points) . Sheamus (2-3, 4 points) 5. Chris Jericho (1-3, 2 points) 5. The Miz (1-4, 2 points) 6. Alberto Del Rio (0-4, 0 points)

WWE NXT: October 9th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Opening things tonight, we go straight to the weekly opening video package. Cutting to the pumped Full Sail Arena, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Renee Young welcome everyone to the broadcast and promise a jam packed show. Tonight, we will see what happened on Divas Smackdown involving the NXT Women’s Championship, as well as see Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Tyler Breeze and more in action. EVAN BOURNE VS. TYLER BREEZE; Last week, these two men were on opposite sides of a tag team match involving their rivals, Solomon Crowe and Kalisto. Tonight, they meet one on one and the last time this happened, it was Tyler Breeze that came out on top. It looks like Evan Bourne is more than prepared here, coming out in a more aggressive manner than we’re used to. Breeze uses a well-placed Supermodel Kick to turn the tide and looks to be on the verge of a win. Bourne avoids the Beauty Shot and hits a big hurricanrana before climbing to the top. From there, he hits AirBourne and gets the win. Evan Bourne defeats Tyler Breeze in 5:19!The fans cheer for the victory as someone, at least for right now, is able to shut up the usually brash Tyler Breeze. With tonight’s big win and his victory last week in the tag team match, momentum is clearly on the side of Evan Bourne, who is bouncing back nicely from his loss at TakeOver. William Regal is shown in his office backstage. Suddenly, Sheamus barges into his office and demands a match with Sami Zayn tonight. Regal tells Sheamus to calm down and that he doesn’t come into his office demanding anything. “That’s not how things work around here. That being said, Sami Zayn has done a jam up job representing NXT in the Survival Trials, as you would know. I don’t think he’d mind a rematch with you tonight, but let’s make it interesting. Since Sami beat you a few weeks ago and since you want him so badly, you can have your match but you’ll have to put that Intercontinental Title on the line.” Sheamus is taken aback, mulls it over and agrees, saying that Sami won’t get lucky twice.
We are now taken to clips of Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady and Carmella training. It’s hilariously set to some Rocky like music. The continuing theme is that Cass can do plenty of impressive things, Carmella more than holds her own but Enzo continues to rung into roadblocks, tripping and failing to lift weights at certain points. Finally, after this happens a few times, Enzo looks at Carmella for motivation and starts doing better. He celebrates his successes like he just won the WWE Title. The three of them will be in action next week!
A recap airs from Divas Smackdown. Opening the show, Lita introduced two of the top women in NXT for a historic contest. Charlotte defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks in a Two out of Three Falls match. After a grueling back and forth battle, Sasha would emerge victorious and achieve her dream of being Women’s Champion. Next week, we will hear from Sasha for the first time since winning the title. BUDDY MURPHY AND WESLEY BLAKE VS. FINN BALOR AND HIDEO ITAMI; When he made his official debut at TakeOver: R-Evolution, it was clear that Finn Balor is good friends with Hideo Itami. They try and see how that translates to a tag team situation tonight. Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake do their best to show that they are a serious tag team threat, but the talent of their opponents is overwhelming. Itami and Balor hit stereo basement dropkicks, before Balor hits the Coup de Grace on Blake to earn the victory. Finn Balor and Hideo Itami defeat Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake in 3:51!Cheers are heard as the fans pop for the win by Finn Balor and Hideo Itami. Those cheers turn to screams and boos when Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel surprisingly hit the ring. They nail Balor and Itami from behind and continually put the boots to them. Gabriel and Kidd even mock the stereo basement dropkicks of their targets. The assault is ended when Kidd has Itami in a Sharpshooter, while Gabriel connects on the 450 Splash on Balor.
Backstage, NXT Champion Corey Graves enters William Regal’s office. He seems annoyed and wants to know why he was called in. Regal tells him to change his attitude and that he has an announcement to make. “It’s been clear to everyone around here that you have some issues with Sami Zayn being in the Survival Trials. One man in particular, Kevin Owens, has a problem with that. I’m always looking to give the people what’s best for business, so next week, right here on NXT, you’ll be going one on one with Kevin Owens.” Graves seems to like the idea and heads out with a smile.
Before our next match, we are taken to a recap of Jason Jordan’s abrupt departure from his team with Tye Dillinger. He has now joined Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger as part of the All-American Real Americans. JACK SWAGGER W/ JASON JORDAN AND ZEB COLTER VS. TYE DILLINGER; Even though the bell rings, Tye Dillinger doesn’t focus on the match. He instead continues to try and reason with Jason Jordan at ringside. Jordan wants to hear none of this and ignores every word. Jack Swagger wisely attacks from behind. Due to that, he is in firm control throughout this match. Tye gets in a slight burst of offense but it isn’t much. Swagger is able to apply the Patriot Lock, scoring the win. Jack Swagger defeats Tye Dillinger in 2:11!Jack Swagger refuses to let go of the hold as Zeb Colter and Jason Jordan enter the ring. Tye Dillinger reaches out for Jordan, who just looks down at him. Swagger releases the hold and Tye tries to get up by climbing on Jordan. Jordan grabs him and plants him with a loud belly to belly suplex. The three All-American Real Americans stand together, place their hands over their chests and shout “WE THE PEOPLE!”
In the back, Devin Taylor is standing by with Sami Zayn, who is holding his NXT Tag Team Title. She asks him about his feelings towards the main event tonight. Sami admits that he has been incredibly lucky in the past few weeks. “I’ve been given the opportunity to compete in the Survival Trials, where I’m very much alive in the standings by the way, and now I’m getting a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.” Sami says that he’s going to make the most of this chance, just like he has done in the Survival Trials.
Since it is October, we get our usual video package of various Superstars and Divas talking about breast cancer awareness month. The WWE and their partnership with the Susan G. Komen Foundation is in full effect this month. BAYLEY VS. SUMMER RAE; As she makes her way to the ring, an insert promo from Bayley is shown. She speaks, saying that she saw the classic that Sasha Banks and Charlotte put on at Divas Smackdown. She admits to being somewhat jealous and wants to get in on the Women’s Title picture and realize her dream in the same way that Sasha Banks did. Summer Rae comes out aggressively, but Bayley seems more determined than usual. She finishes Summer off with the Bayley to Belly. Bayley defeats Summer Rae in 3:17!The fans cheer loudly as Bayley is announced to be the winner. She motions around her waist that she’s coming for the NXT Women’s Championship. She gives some hugs to the fans at ringside, showing that even when she’s serious in the ring, she still loves her fans.
A commercial is shown to promote the upcoming WWE 2K15 video game release. For the first time ever, a WWE game will be released on the current generation consoles. Going backstage, Devin Taylor is standing by again. This time, she’s with Becky Lynch. She says that Becky requested this time. Becky says that she was planning on speaking and declaring that she was looking for a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. “However, it seems like Bayley has beaten me to the punch. I happen to be good friends with Bayley, but just because she said it first, doesn’t mean that I am going to back down. Next week, I have a match and I will be winning it just like Bayley just did. I plan on being the next NXT Women’s Champion.”
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – SHEAMUS (C) VS. SAMI ZAYN; If Sheamus took Sami Zayn lightly during the Survival Trials, he makes sure not to do the same here. Sheamus clubs away at Zayn, just working him over with some huge shots. Each time that Zayn is able to get free and do a rollup, Sheamus kicks out aggressively and clutches the ropes tightly with worry in his face. He tries the Brogue Kick but Zayn ducks and busts out a German suplex with a bridge for two. When they get up and Sheamus is in the corner, Zayn charges forward with a Helluva Kick. Sheamus ducks and hits a massive powerbomb for two. He beats his chest, looking for the Brogue Kick. Sami ducks once move, bounces off the ropes but runs into another Brogue Kick for the 1-2-3. Sheamus defeats Sami Zayn to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 11:34!The NXT Universe boos loudly while Sheamus snatches the Intercontinental Title from the official and hoists it high in the air. Sheamus isn’t done yet though, putting it down and calling for another Brogue Kick as Sami Zayn starts to get up. The fans come alive when Kevin Owens runs out to the ring to make the save. He stands in between them and comes face to face with Sheamus. The crowd buzzes as these two brutes look like they’re about to explode. With Owens’ back to the entrance, NXT Champion Corey Graves sneaks out and whacks him with the belt in the back. Sheamus and Graves look at each other before Sheamus turns and Brogue Kicks Sami one more time. Graves smirks as Sheamus leaves the ring to close the show.

Friday Night Smackdown: October 10th, 2014 – Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This week’s Smackdown kicks off with a series of highlights from the history of Smackdown, since tonight is the 15th Anniversary of the premiere. We then go to a pyro display in the arena before Michael Cole, Tom Phillips and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduce the show. They promise a big night including the Bella Twins taking on Paige and AJ Lee, more from the Survival Trials and a special edition of MizTV featuring Dolph Ziggler!
The music of Stephanie McMahon plays as one of the principle owners of the WWE makes her way to the ring. Eden Stiles introduces her as the first ever General Manager in Smackdown history, which gets a bit of a pop. She enters the ring and puts over the 15th Anniversary of Smackdown, as well as her time as the General Manager. Stephanie brings up some of her past moments on Smackdown, including having the audacity to bring up the time she slapped her mother. She doesn’t get to speak for a long time though, as a familiar theme hits and another former General Manager, Teddy Long shows up. He thugs and bugs on his way to the ring, the crowd cheering for his return. He gets in the ring and Stephanie questions him being there. “Come on Stephanie. You know there’s no way I would miss Smackdown’s big birthday. I know these people in the WWE Universe are happy to see me. I don’t know if you saw Stephanie, but there was an online poll and the fans chose me as their favorite GM in Smackdown history!” The fans cheer and Stephanie gives a slight smirk. Before she can respond, another theme that we haven’t heard in years plays as John Laurinaitis comes out. He talks while walking to the ring, reminding us that even though Teddy was popular, he didn’t have the power behind him. “That’s right, I’m talking about People Power! Also Teddy, don’t forget that it was I who took you out of power as Smackdown GM for good.” Long responds by saying that Laurinaitis was also the shortest tenured Smackdown General Manager. They bicker for a moment until Stephanie interrupts them to shut both men up. She wants tonight to be a celebration. “WE’RE A THREE MAN BAND!” The three former GMs all seem to roll their eyes at once as Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal appear. Heath says that you can’t have a celebration without a band. When they get into the ring, Stephanie tries to stop them, but they just go on, insisting on auditioning to be tonight’s official band. They start to “perform” until a screeching Stephanie yell halts them. “How can you want to be tonight’s official band when that isn’t even a thing?” The fans laugh and Teddy interjects saying that, in honor of the even tonight, we should have a tag team match playa. John Laurinaitis decides they should combine their strengths at GMs. “We can have a six man tag match…playa as you put it, but we can also let the WWE Universe decide on the opponents for these three, using people power!” Stephanie likes it and tells the fans to vote on the WWE app for three opponents to face 3MB, next!
Returning, we are taken to a highlight of the first ever Smackdown main event. On that fateful night on August 26th, 1999, the Rock and Triple H did battle. Triple H won after help from special referee Shawn Michaels. 3MB VS. BIG E, CHRISTIAN AND RYBACK; When the winners of the fan vote are announced, Ryback comes out last. He seems to be enjoying it but Curtis Axel shows up behind him and argues with him about doing what the fans want. Ryback shrugs him off and heads to the ring. 3MB starts off with their crazy antics, but quickly fall victim to the powerful combination of Ryback and Big E. Christian gets in some shine as well, though the focus does seem to be on the other two. Ryback hits Mahal with Shell Shock and Big E finishes him off with a running splash. Big E, Christian and Ryback defeat 3MB in 2:33!
Before they can enjoy the victory, Curtis Axel is back out to complain to Ryback. Ryback again shrugs him off and chooses to celebrate the win with Big E and Christian. It’s clear that whatever issues Rybaxel has been having are far from resolved.
We are taken to another great moment in Smackdown history. This one is from 2002, when Kurt Angle’s challenge was answered by a young rookie with “ruthless aggression”. That man turned out to be none other than John Cena! SURVIVAL TRIALS – ALBERTO DEL RIO (0) VS. CHRIS JERICHO (2); This past Monday night, Alberto Del Rio retained the United States Championship against the Big Show and he hopes that officially righted his ship because he’s been in a huge funk, starting this tournament 0-4. Chris Jericho has not fared much better, going 1-3. These two men prove to be rather evenly matched. They have reversals set for each other with Jericho going for the Walls and Del Rio looking for the Cross Armbreaker. Jericho is first to apply his hold, but Del Rio powers up to counter it, sending Jericho to the mat. Jericho charges, but Del Rio is ready and catches his arm. He steps over and locks in the Cross Armbreaker! As Del Rio promised, Jericho can’t escape, ending this. Alberto Del Rio defeats Chris Jericho in 7:59!Alberto Del Rio gets to his feet and the crowd roars for his first win. He may have been the last guy to get on the board, but, with a really hot run, he could still be alive. “Even so, you always to rack up some wins. Momentum is good” says JBL. Del Rio’s happy moment is ruined by the arrival of Alexander Rusev. Del Rio doesn’t see him enter the ring and he gets clobbered. Rusev stomps away while Lana shouts instructions. Rusev lays Del Rio out with a running kick before picking up the United States Title and staring at it. Lana tells him that it will be his soon enough. Rusev places the belt on Del Rio’s fallen body before leaving.
As always with shows in October, Superstars and Divas talk about breast cancer awareness month. The WWE is proud to partner up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Renee Young now stands by with none other than the Bella Twins. She asks them about their big match coming up against Women’s Champion Paige and AJ Lee. The Bellas get offended when she brings up the fact that AJ and Paige beat them in singles matches at Night of Champions. Nikki claims that as twins, they obviously work better as a unit. “Do you really think that two girls who have worked as one for their entire lives are going to lose to two girls that are about to have a Hell in a Cell match? Please. This will be easy.”
KOFI KINGSTON VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; Looking at the men involved in this match, you would expect a fast paced match. That’s exactly what we get from the opening bell. Whenever Kidd gets the upper hand, he is incredibly quick to brag and showboat. Natalya seems to be shouting for him to focus but Tyson is too busy in his own world. It allows Kofi Kingston to hit the SOS for a near fall. Kofi misses the Boom Drop though, and Tyson gets up, scoring on a swinging fisherman suplex for the win. Tyson Kidd defeats Kofi Kingston in 4:06!The fans in Philadelphia boo loudly as Tyson Kidd jumps in the air, celebrating this as if it is the biggest win in his career. Natalya attempts to calm him down but Tyson is too excited. He asks for a microphone and addresses the WWE Universe. Tyson says that this is the beginning of a new era in the WWE. “The Tyson Kidd Era has begun. I am the start of Total Divas. Last Friday, I was the only male talent on Divas Smackdown. That tells you the level of Superstar that I am.” Tyson claim that nothing will get in the way of his success.
The camera shifts focus to the commentary booth. Michael Cole allows Tom Phillips to run us through a recap of some of the recent Survival Trials events. After recapping the weekend events, we are shown clips from the epic John Cena/Roman Reigns match this past Monday night. Reigns bested Cena to move to 5-0, giving him sole possession of first place. This Monday night, Reigns puts his unbeaten record on the line against the 4-1 Cody Rhodes, while Cena looks to rebound against Dean Ambrose! In fact, Cena and Reigns’ opponents for Monday square off in our main event tonight!
Another Smackdown highlight is shown. This one is from 2007, where Edge became the first man to not only cash in Money in the Bank twice, but he was also the first to cash in on Smackdown. AJ LEE AND PAIGE VS. THE BELLA TWINS; Considering the ladies involved, this is a pretty big time match. WrestleMania worthy even. The Bella Twins made good on their words from the earlier interview, working like a well-oiled machine. With the historic Hell in a Cell match looming, the issues between Paige and AJ Lee are clear. Arguments, self-tags and more cause issues. Paige takes a beating and makes the big tag to AJ. AJ comes at both Bellas with everything she has. The crowd roars as she’s close to victory. Suddenly though, AJ turns and lays out Paige with a huge kick to the skull. The cheers turn to boos as AJ gets on the apron, reaches over and touches Paige, initiating a tag. She then hops off the apron and leaves. Nikki Bella sees the opening, picks up Paige and drops her with the Rack Attack, beating the Women’s Champion. The Bella Twins defeat AJ Lee and Paige in 5:19!Brie Bella gets back in the ring to raise her sister’s hand in victory. The Bella Twins have finally gotten one over on Paige and AJ Lee, though it had a lot to do with AJ’s actions. She stands atop the stage looking down at the ring. Paige begins to move and crawls to the ropes, looking up at the stage. Her face shows a mixture of anger and confusion. Things just got a bit more interesting heading into Hell in a Cell.
We are now taken back to this past Monday, when the Rock made a special surprise appearance on Raw. He interrupted Bo Dallas, threw verbal jabs at him and then laid him out following a Rock Bottom. This is followed by a highlight reel of clips from the Rock’s days on the show he named, Smackdown. Cody Rhodes is shown warming up in the back. He has a huge match tonight. He could tie John Cena for second place but he has a tough task ahead of him in the form of Dean Ambrose.
ADAM ROSE W/ SANTINO MARELLA AND THE EXOTIC EXPRESS VS. BIG SHOW; Adam Rose and Santino Marella are all about party time but the Big Show was in no mood for that. He came up short of taking the United States Championship from Alberto Del Rio on Raw and is still pretty pissed. He clobbers Rose with everything he’s got, annihilating him. Show scores the win with the WMD. Big Show defeats Adam Rose in 2:15!Santino Marella and the Exotic Express look on in horror as their friend was just destroyed. Big Show is one pissed off giant. Bo Dallas’ music plays as he steps out onto the stage with a grin. He has a microphone and he tells Big Show that he understands where he’s coming from. “I’ve had some struggles in the past, but if you just Bolieve, you can truly be as successful as I am.” Bo gives a thumbs up as Big Show walks up the ramp. Michael Cole expects Big Show to knock him out, but Show instead offers his hand. Bo gives a huge smile and shakes it, seemingly finding himself a massive partner in crime.
More Smackdown history highlights come as we focus on the infamous supermarket brawl between Steve Austin and Booker T back in 2001. “Price check on Jackass.” Returning to the arena, the ring is set up for MizTV. The Miz is in the ring, with his co-host Summer Rae. Miz says that he’s doing this tonight because he doesn’t want to think about the Survival Trials much. “I know that it hasn’t gone my way so far but that will change when I beat my old nemesis Chris Jericho next week. As for tonight, my guest is someone that I’ve known for a long time.” Miz gets cut off by the theme of Dolph Ziggler, who makes a beeline for the ring. He gets in and Miz is rather upset by the interruption, so he shouts at Dolph. Dolph just turns and superkicks him to a huge pop. Summer is appalled and checks on her man while Dolph picks up the microphone. “I’m not out here to play any of Miz’s games. I’m not out here to have a fun little interview. I’m out here for one reason. Sheamus. What you did to me at Night of Champions was beyond anything that has ever happened to me. You crossed a line. It’s one thing to take my Intercontinental Title, but it’s another to go after my livelihood.” Dolph begins to pound on his head where he was cut open at Night of Champions. “You went too damn far. I’m getting my title back, but don’t you dare think that I’m not coming to end your career too.” Dolph slams the microphone down and storms off.
Our final 15th anniversary special video airs. This one covers the emotional 9/11 special episode that was the first social gathering after the traumatic terror attacks in 2001. SURVIVAL TRIALS – CODY RHODES (6) VS. DEAN AMBROSE (4); These two men found themselves on opposite ends more than a few times last year when the Brotherhood went to war with the Shield. Despite that, this is their first one on one encounter. Dean Ambrose shows off a pretty vicious style, which forces Cody Rhodes to dig deep into bag of tricks. He takes to the air more than usual, looking to take the big risks. He hits the Disaster Kick, which sends Dean stumbling back to the ropes, where he does the rebound lariat and nearly gains the two points. Ambrose looks for Dirty Deeds, but Cody spins out and counters with Cross Rhodes, earning the three count. Cody Rhodes defeats Dean Ambrose in 14:42!Cody Rhodes gets to his feet and lets out a yell that the fans reciprocate. Not only does he move to a 4-1 record and a second place tie with John Cena, but he just defeated a member of the Shield in what could be considered his biggest win of the tournament. This Monday, he faces the seemingly unstoppable 5-0 Roman Reigns in a battle for first place. As Cody celebrates on the second rope, the commentators question if Cody can continue this strong run and pull off the unthinkable on Monday.
1. Roman Reigns (5-0, 10 points) 2. John Cena (4-1, 8 points) 2. Cody Rhodes (4-1, 8 points) 3. Sami Zayn (3-2, 6 points) 3. Seth Rollins (3-2, 6 points) 4. Adrian Neville (2-3, 4 points) 4. Dean Ambrose (2-3, 4 points) 4. Sheamus (2-3, 4 points) 4. Bad News Barrett (2-3, 4 points) 5. Alberto Del Rio (1-4, 2 points) 5. Chris Jericho (1-4, 2 points) 5. The Miz (1-4, 2 points)

Monday Night Raw: October 13th, 2014 – Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia
Before the usual weekly Raw intro video, we are taken to a recap from last Monday’s show. We got to witness three Survival Trials matches. Sami Zayn defeated Seth Rollins, Bad News Barrett overcame the challenge of Adrian Neville and then, in the biggest match of the tournament so far, Roman Reigns beat John Cena to become the only undefeated man remaining. Dolph Ziggler steps through the curtain to a roar of cheers. As he walks to the ring, we are reminded that Ziggler returned last week and went after the Intercontinental Champion Sheamus. Dolph enters the ring and snatches a microphone, instantly ripping into Sheamus. He says similar things to what he mentioned on MizTV this past Friday on Smackdown. “Taking my title is one thing, but you tried to take my career from me. I’ve worked my ass off, for my entire life, to get to this place.” He demands that Sheamus come out here right now. After a few seconds, the music of the Intercontinental Champion hits and Sheamus makes it to the stage. He seems peeved, but does have his blood stained chair with him. Sheamus tells Ziggler that he doesn’t demand anything from him. “The only reason I’m out here is because I was planning on calling you out myself. Last week, you stuck your nose where it didn’t belong. Do you not remember Night of Champions? This thing between us is over. I kicked your arse like nobody before you has ever done. You should give up, there’s no need for you to even be around here anymore.” Ziggler claims that he’s back for one reason. “My rematch.” The crowd pops at this announcement but Dolph takes it one step further. “I don’t want just any rematch either Sheamus, because I don’t just want my title back. I want to do to you what you tried to do to me. I want to end your career. So let’s do this inside the Hell in a Cell.” Gasps are heard from the fans and even Sheamus is surprised. He mulls it over and accepts, saying that Dolph must have a death wish. “This chair is going to get a lot more bloody come Hell in a Cell. In fact, I’m gonna add to it right now.” Sheamus starts walking towards the ring. Ziggler doesn’t shy away, taking off his jacket and preparing. Once Sheamus enters, they instantly trade right hands. This quickly dies down because the WWE Tag Team Champions Batista and Randy Orton show up to assist Sheamus. They all stomp on Ziggler until CM Punk and Daniel Bryan show up and the crowd erupts. The six men get into a massive brawl, with Bryan, Punk and Ziggler sending the Authority members packing. They dare them to get back in, but the Authority backs up, choosing to regroup. The voice of Triple H is heard, to a mixed reaction. He comes out and stands atop the stage, shouting for all of this to stop. “Tonight, we are going to resolve this one way or the other!” Triple H announces that tonight, these six will compete in a six man tag team match! Raw is off to a very wild start.
SURVIVAL TRIALS – ALBERTO DEL RIO (2) VS. SETH ROLLINS (6); After the roughest start of the tournament, Alberto Del Rio finally picked up his first win on Smackdown by beating Chris Jericho. Tonight, he runs into Seth Rollins, who has had a pretty good start. Right from the bell, Del Rio targets Rollins’ arm. While it sets up his finisher well, Rollins is still free to do his signature high flying offense. He springboards into the ring at one point, but Del Rio catches him by the arm and pulls him into an armbar. It isn’t the Cross Armbreaker though and Rollins reaches the ropes. Del Rio pounces though, striking with a vicious superkick as Seth gets to his knees, scoring the win. Alberto Del Rio defeats Seth Rollins in 12:08!
The WWE Universe cheers, even though they really like both Superstars. Alberto Del Rio is handed his United States Title and he has now picked up two straight wins after starting 0-4. Seth Rollins rolls out of the ring, but slams the mat in frustration before doing so. He has certainly taken his losses in this tournament pretty hard so far. He needs some momentum before his huge battle with Roman Reigns at Hell in a Cell.
During the break, exclusively on the WWE App, Alberto Del Rio exited the ring and made it to the top of the ramp. He posed for the fans but was assaulted from behind by Alexander Rusev. Rusev ended up locking him in the Accolade, while Lana picked up the United States Title and held it high. Officials had to rush out to break this up.
A recap airs from Smackdown this past Friday. AJ Lee and Paige took on the Bella Twins in tag team action. AJ attacked her own partner and walked off, leaving Paige alone to get beaten by Nikki Bella. Because of that result, Nikki has asked Stephanie McMahon and has been granted a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship. WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. NIKKI BELLA W/ BRIE BELLA; Just before the opening bell, AJ Lee’s music plays as the woman set to meet Paige inside the Hell in a Cell in a few weeks skips down to the ring. Paige and Nikki met at Night of Champions last month, with Paige obviously retaining. Commentary says that if Nikki is successful here, Paige and AJ will still meet in the Cell, but the title won’t be involved and AJ will meet Nikki the following night on Raw. AJ at ringside causes Paige some distraction issues throughout the match. However, she nails the Ram-Paige to claim the win. Paige defeats Nikki Bella to retain the WWE Women’s Championship in 5:17!The celebration is cut short because once Paige wins, AJ Lee hops into the ring. Paige is ready and meets her, coming face to face with her rival. The two women lock eyes and stare at each other for a few seconds, while Brie helps Nikki out of the ring. AJ grabbed the Women’s Championship on her way in. She hands it over to Paige, who is reluctant. AJ gives her those big puppy dog eyes and Paige quickly snatches the belt. AJ skips around Paige before leaving the ring. Paige is left looking confused at AJ’s mind games.
Backstage, Stephanie McMahon is shown watching on a monitor. Triple H enters the picture and they seem to be back on relatively good terms as they hug. Stephanie admits to liking the six man tag that Triple H put together earlier. He responds by saying that he’s happy she booked a Women’s Title match. “See Steph? Even if we disagree about certain things, we can still run this show like a well-oiled machine.” Stephanie agrees but of course, has to add that she still isn’t happy with the fact that he doesn’t want to do what’s best for business anymore. Triple H gets annoyed and says that he’s not going to have this fight again. He leaves, showing that there is still some friction in the McMahon household.
Cutting away, Renee Young introduces her guest at this time, John Cena. He steps into the screen with a smile and Renee asks him about his match with Dena Ambrose coming up next. Cena first reminds the viewers that he lost a tough battle last Monday against Roman Reigns. “I was undefeated and I’ll be the first to admit that Reigns beat me, fair and square. You deserve a tip of my cap. But you better believe that I’m looking for my rematch in the Finals. If you remain unbeaten, you better believe that I’m not losing another match. That starts tonight with your ‘brother’, Dean Ambrose. It’s been far too long since I’ve been WWE Champion and that’s going to change at Survivor Series.”
SURVIVAL TRIALS – DEAN AMBROSE (4) VS. JOHN CENA (8); Dean Ambrose began the Survival Trials with two straight wins, but he’s dropped three consecutive matches since then. John Cena is looking to get back on track after suffering a loss to Roman Reigns last week. This proves to be one of the most competitive matches of the entire tournament so far. Ambrose fights like a man possessed, scratching and clawing to find a way to gain two points. He even rakes Cena’s eyes, as well as tries rollups with a handful of tights. Cena locks in the STF and Ambrose looks to be on the verge of tapping out, but he’s able to reach the ropes. Cena stalks him, waiting for the Attitude Adjustment. Dean slips out and tries Dirty Deeds but Cena trips him up and applies the STF again. Once again though, Dean is able to grab the ropes. When they get up, Cena levels him, sending Dean to the ropes. Dean tries for the rebound lariat but Cena ducks and hits the AA, earning the three count. John Cena defeats Dean Ambrose in 15:12!John Cena gets to his feet and pumps his fist. He knows that if Cody Rhodes can beat Roman Reigns later tonight, he’ll be back in a tie for first place. “You’ve got to commend the effort of Dean Ambrose. Despite his string of losses, he put up one hell of a fight and came oh so close to beating Cena tonight” says Michael Cole. Cena looks at Ambrose getting up and offers his hand. Ambrose, unlike Reigns last week, decides against it and instead rolls out of the ring and up through the crowd. CHRISTIAN VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; As we saw on Smackdown and for a while on NXT, Tyson Kidd has become one brash son of a bitch. He has taken to Twitter and constantly pointed out that he was the only Superstar to make it to Divas Smackdown and even takes credit for the success of that show. Christian looks to teach him a lesson here, but not long after things begin, Kidd schoolboys Christian and scores the pinfall. Tyson Kidd defeats Christian in 3:46!Tyson Kidd quickly slides out of the ring and throws his arms in the air. Christian looks stressed that he allowed that match to slip through his fingers. Natalya goes to high five her husband, but Tyson leaves her hanging to enjoy the win by himself.
In anticipation of the last Survival Trials match of the evening, coming up next, Renee Young interviews Cody Rhodes. She asks him for his thoughts heading into this very tough match tonight. Cody says that he realizes what’s at stake tonight. “Nobody has beaten Roman Reigns in this tournament so far. Not even the fourteen time World Champion John Cena. But I’m gonna beat him tonight. I’m gonna take first place and then I’m gonna beat John Cena at Hell in a Cell. This tournament is mine and I plan on being the man to defeat Brock Lesnar.” Cutting away from that, Tom Phillips is with Roman Reigns in his locker room. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins can be seen in the back licking their wounds from earlier tonight. Reigns watched Cody’s interview and is asked about it. He says that he likes the confidence that Cody is showing. “The guy has some balls. He needs to realize something though. He needs to look at my record. I haven’t lost and I’m not going to lose. I’m going to beat him tonight, I’m going to beat the rest of my opponents and I’m going to beat Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Believe that.” He walks off, but his remarks about beating the rest of his opponents seems to have rubbed Seth and Dean the wrong way, since they are still on his schedule. SURVIVAL TRIALS – CODY RHODES (8) VS. ROMAN REIGNS (10); Even though he currently stands at 5-0, Roman Reigns comes out of the blocks firing as if he was desperate for a win. He holds a clear power advantage over Cody Rhodes and uses it wisely. Cody has to fight from behind, trying to get flash pins and using his aerial ability. He hits a gorgeous moonsault, only scoring two. Cody knows to stay on the offensive since Reigns is one hard man to put away. Cody looks for Cross Rhodes, but Reigns counters with some right hands. It backs Cody to the ropes where he springboards off for the Disaster Kick. Reigns is ready, greeting him with a huge midair Superman punch! He covers…1…2…and Cody somehow gets his foot on the bottom rope! Reigns backs up and pounds the floor, setting for the Spear. He charges but Cody avoids it and he crashes shoulder first into the corner. As he staggers out, Cody hits the Cross Rhodes. For good measure, he picks him back up and hits it a second time, handing Reigns his first loss of the tournament. Cody Rhodes defeats Roman Reigns in 14:20!The Phillips Arena goes crazy as Cody Rhodes has done the unthinkable. Even Cody seems somewhat surprised as the referee raises his hand. “Not only has Cody Rhodes handed Roman Reigns his first loss of the Survival Trials, but he has moved into first place via tiebreaker” says JBL. The three men with the best records, John Cena, Reigns and Rhodes are tied, but Reigns beat Cena and now Rhodes has beaten Reigns. If the tournament ended today, Cody would be in first place! Reigns sits up and puts his head in his hands, disappointed in himself. Cameras also catch Seth Rollins standing in the stands, watching from afar. The focus remains on Cody Rhodes and his celebration though. ADAM ROSE AND SANTINO MARELLA VS. BIG SHOW AND BO DALLAS; A recap airs from this past Friday on Smackdown when the Big Show officially joined forces with Bo Dallas. Bo cut a promo on the way to the ring, saying that Show was now a Boliever. Show was even wearing a BOLIEVE shirt, but it was skin tight and ripping. Bo explained that the shirts weren’t available in Show’s size yet. They prove to be a formidable team and Show knocks out Santino for the 1-2-3. Big Show and Bo Dallas defeat Adam Rose and Santino Marella in 2:24!When the bell rings, the Exotic Express stops dancing and Adam Rose looks on in horror. Bo Dallas does victory laps around Big Show before stopping in front of him and throwing his arms in the air. He high fives Show, which seems to really hurt his hand. It looks like Bo has found the Boliever he’s been looking for.
Renee Young is now standing by with “the Best and the Beard”, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. She asks them about their main event match tonight, as well as the upcoming bout at Hell in a Cell. Bryan speaks first, saying that tonight, they’re looking forward to getting a piece of Batista and Randy Orton early. He does bring up the fact that Dolph Ziggler isn’t in the best mental state right now, so they’ll need to make sure he keeps his cool. Punk speaks for the second question, saying that he’s been in more than a few Hell in a Cell matches. “I was in the first Triple Threat Cell and now I’ll be in the first ever Tag Team Championship Cell match. And you know what? This is going to be the first time that Batista and Orton get humbled. We’re not just going to take the belts from them, we are going to prove to them and the Authority, beyond a shadow of a doubt, who the best in the world really is.”
Returning to the ring, it is set up for the Highlight Reel. Chris Jericho arrives to a roar from the crowd. Commentary reminds us of his recent struggles, being only 1-4 in the Survival Trials so far. He enters the ring showing know negative emotions from his rough start. Jericho introduces the show to the crowd before putting over the obesely expensive JeriTron 5000. “My guest tonight is definitely someone special. He is going to be my opponent at Hell in a Cell and he’s Mr. Money in the Bank.” Before he can finish the introduction, Bad News Barrett’s music hits and he shows up with a cocky look on his face. Barrett talks as he walks to the Highlight Reel, saying that he knows tonight is an important edition of the show, but he has some BAD NEWS! “Your Highlight Reel will not only be taken over by yours truly, but come Hell in a Cell, you will lose to me and be statistically eliminated from the Survival Trials. I will then go on to win the tournament and beat Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. And, in the event that fails, I still have this little briefcase here. Speaking of Money in the Bank, isn’t it funny that you came up with this entire concept, but you’ve never held this.” Jericho chuckles at that before firing back by saying that Barrett talks like a champion but he’s never been WWE Champion. They come face to face and Jericho tells him that he wanted to conduct an interview but it looks like Barrett has other plans. They continue the stare down before Jericho looks down at the briefcase. “You know Barrett, if you’re so confident that you’re gonna beat me at Hell in a Cell, why don’t we raise the stakes? Let’s put that briefcase on the line.” The crowd pops but Barrett scoffs, saying that he’s already earned the briefcase. Jericho continues to goad him, calling him a coward and even saying that the real bad news is that he got lucky at Money in the Bank. A pissed off Wade is about to explode before he blurts out that Jericho is on! As soon as he says it, he seems to regret. Jericho has a huge smile before saying “Well there you have it. History made on the Highlight Reel. Goodnight everyone!” Jericho exits the ring, leaving Barrett speechless at what he just did. BIG E VS. CURTIS AXEL W/ RYBACK; The tension continues to build between the members of Rybaxel. They’re already in the ring when returning from break and seem to argue during Big E’s entrance. The fans have rallied behind Big E since his return and he looks fired up here. Curtis Axel more than holds his own though, to the surprise of many. Axel even hits his dad’s Perfectplex, but doesn’t do it as well since Big E kicks out. Big E weathers the storm, putting him down with the Big Ending. Big E defeats Curtis Axel in 4:28!Big E isn’t satisfied, demanding a five count from the referee. The official doesn’t want to give it, but he eventually does as Big E continues to shout “FIVE”! Once he gets the count, Big E asks for a microphone. He says that before his injury, he held something. “I was the Intercontinental Champion and, I’ll admit it, Sheamus beat me. After Alberto Del Rio messed up my arm, all I had was time to think. While doing that, I realized that I felt empty without the belt. So I want Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus to listen closely…I’m coming back for my title.” Big E slams the microphone down and leaves the ring.
We go backstage to Renee Young for one final interview tonight. She brings her guest, Sami Zayn, into the picture. He’s wearing his NXT Tag Team Title around his waist. She asks him about his grueling match with Sheamus on NXT last week. Sami admits that it was tough and that Sheamus was the better man. “All losses are hard to swallow, but I do get some solace in the fact that I beat him in the Survival Trials. You know, a lot of people saw me as a dark horse, but last time I checked, I’m right behind Cody Rhodes, John Cena and Roman Reigns for second place. I’ve beaten…” Sami trails off as Dean Ambrose steps into the picture. He says that Sami seems pretty confident, but seems to forget that they’re scheduled to face at Hell in a Cell. “You can sit up on your high horse all you want but come October 26th, you’re going to face someone completely unlike anything else you’ve ever seen before. And just so we’re clear…I’m in a pissed off mood, so watch out.”
Speaking of Sami Zayn, he'll be in action against Bad News Barrett tomorrow night on Main Event! Catch it only on the WWE Network at 8E/7C! BATISTA, RANDY ORTON AND SHEAMUS VS. CM PUNK, DANIEL BRYAN AND DOLPH ZIGGLER; A huge six man tag team match closes out Raw this week, giving us a preview of two of the historic Hell in a Cell matches coming in just under two weeks. This is given a lot of time and everyone gets an opportunity to shine. When it breaks down, the Authority combine their focus and isolate Dolph Ziggler. They are not shy about hitting him in the head, targeting his recent injury. He eventually makes the hot tag to Bryan, who cleans house, hitting everything in sight. Even Punk sneaks in to dive outside and take out Randy Orton. Bryan starts to “Yes”, looking for the Busaiku Knee. Sheamus tosses Ziggler into the announce table, slides in and cuts off Bryan’s attempt with a vicious Brogue Kick. Punk tries to get back in but is knocked off the apron by Sheamus. Batista plants Bryan with the Batista Bomb and gets the victory. Batista, Randy Orton and Sheamus defeat CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler in 18:22!The destructive trio of Randy Orton, Batista and Sheamus have prevailed over their opponents for Hell in a Cell. Orton lays out CM Punk outside with the RKO, before getting all three titles. He hands Sheamus his Intercontinental Title and gives Batista the other Tag Team Title. They pose in the center of the ring with their belts, looking as dominant as ever. Suddenly, Dolph Ziggler is back up and rocks Batista with a superkick. It proves to not be the wisest move since Orton and Sheamus pound on him. Batista gets up, holding his jaw and looking pissed. Orton and Sheamus hold him so Batista charges and lays him out with a spear. The Authority once again take their titles, leaving Punk, Bryan and Ziggler all out cold to close the show.
1. Cody Rhodes (5-1, 10 points) 2. Roman Reigns (5-1, 10 points) 3. John Cena (5-1, 10 points) 4. Sami Zayn (3-2, 6 points) 5. Seth Rollins (3-3, 6 points) 6. Adrian Neville (2-3, 4 points) 7. WWE Main Event: October 14th, 2014 – Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama SURVIVAL TRIALS – BAD NEWS BARRETT (4) VS. SAMI ZAYN (6); The WWE Universe has really taken a liking to Sami Zayn since his arrival in the Survival Trials. Bad News Barrett seems a bit flustered and commentary reminds us that he was goaded into putting his precious Money in the Bank briefcase on the line at Hell in a Cell. That allows Sami to get on the offensive side for a while. Barrett manages to hit the Winds of Change from out of nowhere, turning the tide. He parlays that momentum into a flurry of offense before finishing off Sami with the Bull Hammer. Bad News Barrett defeats Sami Zayn in 8:53!
A wide smile appears on the face of Bad News Barrett, happy that he now has six points. Barrett regains some momentum and confidence, which is greatly needed heading into Hell in a Cell. Sami Zayn was able to beat Barrett’s Authority buddy Sheamus on the first night, but lost to him at NXT and now has taken another loss. He needs to pick up steam with a bout against Dean Ambrose on the horizon.
1. Cody Rhodes (5-1, 10 points) 2. Roman Reigns (5-1, 10 points) 3. John Cena (5-1, 10 points) 4. Bad News Barrett (3-3, 6 points) 5. Sami Zayn (3-3, 6 points) 6. Seth Rollins (3-3, 6 points) 7. WWE NXT: October 16th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
The WWE Signature flashes across the screen and the intro video plays, signaling the start of another week of NXT. Alex Riley, Rich Brennan and the lovely Renee Young are on commentary tonight and welcome the viewers at home to the rowdy Full Sail University. They promise a great show, headlined by NXT Champion Corey Graves taking on one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens! KALISTO AND SIN CARA VS. JUSTIN GABRIEL AND TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; In an effort to irritate Tyson Kidd, the fans chant “Nattie’s husband” at him. It works, causing Sin Cara and Kalisto to take it to him. The masked duo is teaming up for the first time, but show off some impressive chemistry. Justin Gabriel gets in a cheap shot to the back of Sin Cara and it turns the tables for his team. He hits Sin Cara with the 450 splash and knocks Kalisto off the apron while Kidd puts Cara in the Sharpshooter. He taps out. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd defeat Kalisto and Sin Cara in 4:18!Tyson Kidd’s music plays as he and Justin Gabriel celebrate the win. Natalya enters the ring but mostly gets ignored. Tyson eventually hugs her, but it’s a quick one. Kidd and Gabriel seem much more into themselves than anything else.
“Sky’s the Limit” plays and the crowd gives a mixed reaction as the brand new NXT Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks steps through the curtain. She has the title around her waist for the first time at Full Sail University. Sasha enters the ring, is handed a microphone and tells the fans to be quiet. She holds up the title and simply says “Told you so.” Sasha continues to discuss the fact that nobody believed she would make it to the top, but here she stands with the title. “I heard the shouts and even the whispers. People said Summer Rae was the leader of the BFFs. They saw Charlotte and her legacy in this business and pegged her as the standout from the BFFs. And honestly, when she won the NXT Women’s Title at TakeOver and then beat me at R-Evolution, a small part of me wondered if that was true. I just needed one more chance to show that I am the baddest female in NXT and I got it. At Divas Smackdown, in front of the largest audience to ever witness an NXT Women’s Title match, I beat Charlotte. Not once, but twice. I’ve known it all along, but this belt makes it official. I am the best female to ever step foot in a WWE ring.” Sasha’s boasts are interrupted by the former champion, Charlotte. The daughter of Ric Flair walks down to the ring, clapping. When she gets in front of Sasha, she speaks, congratulating her on the win. “I have no excuses for Divas Smackdown. You beat me, fair and square. But I’m out here for my rematch.” The crowd cheers and chants “one more time”. Sasha declines, stating that she’s not prepared and doesn’t have her ring gear. The music of William Regal hits as he steps out onto the stage. “I actually think you not having your gear tonight is a good thing. Now, I can promote the match. Next week, right here on NXT, Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the NXT Women’s Championship!” The crowd cheers and Charlotte smiles at the news. Sasha looks a bit worried.
We now go to a wwe.com video from just after last week’s tag team victory by Hideo Itami and Finn Balor. Out interviewers caught up with them to discuss the attack by Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd. Both guys are licking their wounds and Finn Balor handles most of the promo. He says that it’s clear the issue between the four of them is unsettled. “Someday soon, we will get our revenge on ‘Nattie’s husband’ and his friend. And when we do, there’s gonna be hell to pay.” Itami closes things out, only saying something about intending to “kick, kick, kick” Kidd and Gabriel.
A commercial airs to hype Hell in a Cell. For the first time in over three years, we will see three Hell in a Cell matches. The WWE Intercontinental, Women’s and Tag Team Championships will all be defended inside the structure for the first time in history, plus more from the Survival Trials! MASON RYAN VS. STEVE CUTLER; As is the case with pretty much every Mason Ryan match since his return to NXT, he makes quick work of his opponent. Steve Cutler never had a chance and Ryan beat him with a backbreaker rack. Mason Ryan defeats Steve Cutler in 0:33!The NXT Universe gives a round of applause to Mason Ryan as he continues to impress, week in and week out. You have to wonder if someone will be able to even be considered competition for him at some point.
A video package airs of various WWE Superstars and Divas talking about breast cancer and the dangers that come with it. The WWE has once again partnered up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the month of October.
A recap airs of Bayley’s victory last week over Summer Rae. After her win, she declared she was coming after the NXT Women’s Championship. Becky Lynch, not to be outdone, was interviewed later on and made the same declaration. ALEXA BLISS VS. BECKY LYNCH; Although she hasn’t staked her claim for the NXT Women’s Championship just yet, NXT’s resident fairy princess is not one to be overlooked. She reels off some impressively acrobatic moves including a backflip knee drop. She goes up top for what Alex Riley calls the Sparkle Splash, but Becky Lynch moves out of the way. She focuses on the arm throughout the match and it really pays off in the end. Becky locks Alexa in the Disarm-Her, forcing Alexa to tap out. Becky Lynch defeats Alexa Bliss in 3:40!Becky Lynch stands up to a roar from the crowd. She has done a good job of getting the NXT Universe to rally behind her. While she celebrates, the cameras cut backstage to see Bayley watching on a monitor. She seems impressed with Becky’s performance.
A commercial is shown for the latest WWE film, See No Evil 2. Kane returns as Jacob Goodnight! The commercial ends up getting intercut by NXT’s resident hacker, Solomon Crowe. He speaks to the camera, saying that there’s a reason he hasn’t been around. “I’m biding my time. I see that Evan Bourne has picked up a few wins lately but don’t any of you forget that I beat him at TakeOver. I told you all that I am the future of NXT. Not Evan Bourne, not Tyler Breeze, not Kalisto, not Sami Zayn, not Finn Balor and not even the current champion, Corey Graves. When I want to make an impact, I’ll do it and just like this message, not a single person can stop me.” BRODUS CLAY, CURT HAWKINS AND SUMMER RAE VS. COLIN CASSADY, ENZO AMORE AND CARMELLA; The trio that has had some time on the main roster cut an insert promo discussing the fact that they are tired of the new people showing up in the WWE and NXT and thinking they run this place. Colin Cassady, Enzo Amore and Carmella have quickly developed some great chemistry and play off of each other very well. In the end, Big Cass rocker launches Enzo onto Curt Hawkins for the 1-2-3. Colin Cassady, Enzo Amore and Carmella defeat Brodus Clay, Curt Hawkins and Summer Rae in 3:21!The trio from Queens and Staten Island have their hands raised in victory. Brodus Clay and Summer Rae look on in disappointment. Enzo Amore makes a motion around his waist, signaling that he and Cass may be looking for another shot at the NXT Tag Team Titles.
Rich Brennan now walks us through a recap of the wild week of Survival Trials action. One week after Roman Reigns bested John Cena in a classic match to take sole possession of first place, Cody Rhodes became the man of the hour. He beat Dean Ambrose on Smackdown before doing the unthinkable and ending Reigns’ unbeaten streak to take over first place. BARON CORBIN VS. JOSH WOODS; If you thought that Mason Ryan won in impressive fashion earlier, this was on an even higher level. Baron Corbin caught a charging Josh Woods in the End of Days and won like it was nothing. Baron Corbin defeats Josh Woods in 0:19!“Oh my goodness, that was incredible” says Alex Riley. Baron Corbin doesn’t even wait to have his hand raised by the referee. He just exits the ring and leaves on his own, not looking back at the ring or fans at all.
Devin Taylor is now standing by backstage with Tyler Breeze. She asks him about his loss to Evan Bourne last week, which clearly irritates him. “Why would you even ask such dumb questions? How are you even employed? Look, obviously last week’s loss was a fluke. Evan Bourne isn’t better than me in any conceivable way.” Breeze says that he can’t concentrate due to how many ugly people are around NXT these days. He needs to fix that problem before he can get to succeeding. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are shown in their locker room. Sami tells Kevin that he needs to be cautious out there against Corey Graves. “He made me submit a few months ago and is one of the toughest men I’ve ever faced in the ring.” Owens cuts him off, saying that he isn’t Sami. “I know what I’m doing out there. Corey Graves didn’t just call you out, he called me out too. Tonight, I’m going to show him and the rest of the world that I should be holding the NXT Championship along with these belts, I should be in the Survival Trials and I should be the top guy in NXT.” Owens heads off while Sami stares back at him a bit befuddled.
A commercial is shown hyping WWE 2K15. For the first time ever, you can play as your favorite WWE Superstars and Divas on current generation platforms! NON-TITLE MATCH: COREY GRAVES VS. KEVIN OWENS; Two of the heaviest hitters in NXT collide here. Corey Graves has taken out Kevin Owens’ partner, Sami Zayn, in the past. He makes reference to it while working Owens over. Kevin Owens is not one to be outshined though, fighting back with some great smack talk of his own in between shots. Owens looks for the popup powerbomb but Graves comes down punching him to avoid it. Graves applies the Lucky 13 submission, but Owens is quick to the ropes. Graves charges but Owens moves and runs at him with a big clothesline that sends both men over and to the outside. This fight continues, with both guys more focused on trading blows rather than getting back into the ring, resulting in a double countout. The match ends in a double countout at 8:29!Corey Graves and Kevin Owens continue to trade right hands on the outside while the bell continues to ring. Officials try to keep them apart but ultimately fail. Sami Zayn rushes down to the ring to get in between them and is more successful than the referees. Graves sees an opening and kicks Zayn in the back of the leg. Owens is held back by multiple officials as Graves grabs a chair and drives it into the knee of Zayn. Owens finally breaks through, but Graves exits through the crowd, pleased with his work.

10/17/14 Edition
- There has been a shift in popularity for the NXT brand in recent weeks. The live specials have been well received and the arrivals of well known guys like Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and Hideo Itami have only boosted the views on the WWE Network. There are talks of bringing NXT on the road outside of Florida for the first time in 2015.
- The planned Hell in a Cell match between Paige and AJ Lee is scheduled to be their last meeting for a long time. Both girls are set to move into different things after. While the match is currently being booked to be one of the more violent women's matches in WWE history, it is not going to go overboard. Paige and AJ reportedly fought hard backstage for some leeway but weren't given everything they wanted.
- As noted by his great record in the Survival Trials so far, Cody Rhodes is set for a big push. The idea is for him to do well in this tournament and continue building him up for a pretty big singles match at WrestleMania 31. The WWE have their Mania plans set in stone, barring any major injuries, and believe six or seven of the matches could main event most PPVs.
- Since losing at SummerSlam to the Shield, we have not seen the Wyatt Family. As previously reported, they are off as part of the WWE's new scheduling plan to keep guys fresh. However, the entire stable is set to return within the coming weeks. The group is set for major things for the coming year. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are scheduled to be in the Tag Team Title picture, while Bray moves into the biggest program of his career.

Friday Night Smackdown: October 17th, 2014 – Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama
We start things this week with a video package showcasing the events from Raw involving the Authority, Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. The team of Batista, Randy Orton and Sheamus picked up the win, but didn’t stop there. They also beat down their opponents and Batista ran through Ziggler with a vicious spear. Michael Cole, Tom Phillips and JBL introduce the show but are quickly cut off by the arrival of one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions.
“I Walk Alone” plays and Batista steps through the curtain to loud boos. He seems to bask in them as he walks down to the ring, in street clothes with the WWE Tag Team Title draped over his shoulder. Batista grabs a microphone and begins to talk about Hell in a Cell. He says that at first, he didn’t want to compete inside the Cell. “Calm down idiots, it’s not because I don’t like violence. Remember this, I’m not only a WWE Superstar. I am a movie star. Guardians of the Galaxy is shattering records everywhere. If something were to happen to this face, it could hurt my other career. Then I really got to thinking about it and I realized that I have nothing to worry because Randy Orton and I are going to demolish CM Punk and Daniel Bryan inside the Hell in a Cell.” Batista then starts to describe the things they plan on doing to their challengers and just as it gets gruesome, Dolph Ziggler’s theme hits and he walks out onto the stage to a pop. Dolph tells Batista that everybody just wants him to shut up. “You come out here and talk about Hell in the Cell but there’s something more pressing right now. It’s bad enough that you and your little buddies won on Monday but then you went and speared me afterwards. I am not someone to just sit back and take that, so I’m out here to challenge you to a match tonight!” The fans cheer but Batista surprisingly laughs. According to him, Ziggler is not a threat. “I accept your little challenge so that Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and all of these people can see what happens when you piss me off.” Batista drops the microphone and holds his title high while Dolph Ziggler stares a hole through him. We’ve got a main event set! SURVIVAL TRIALS – CHRIS JERICHO (2) VS. THE MIZ (2); Both of these men have struggled so far, deadlocked for last place in the tournament so far. This past Monday though, Chris Jericho goaded Bad News Barrett into putting his coveted Money in the Bank briefcase on the line in their Survival Trials match at Hell in a Cell. Desperate to gain momentum heading into that, Jericho seems like a different person throughout this contest. He is especially aggressive at times, throwing the Miz off of his own game. Jericho trips up a frustrated Miz and locks him in the Walls of Jericho, making him tap out. Chris Jericho defeats the Miz in 6:07!A much needed win for Chris Jericho and it shows by his celebration. Jericho seems extra motivated with the possibility that he could become the new Money in the Bank holder after Hell in a Cell. Speaking of Mr. Money in the Bank, the music of Bad News Barrett hits. For the first time in months, he rises from near the stage on his podium and has his gavel. “Chris Jericho, you have just earned yourself two points, moved out of last place and picked up a victory…BUT I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS! I also won my match on Main Event and have even more momentum than you do heading into Hell in a Cell, where you will ultimately lose to me. That loss will cripple your confidence, sending you down a hole of consecutive losses in the Survival Trials, ending with you going back to your mediocre rock and roll career.” Barrett lets out a hearty laugh, bangs his gavel and the podium lowers while Jericho looks on, furious. BRIE BELLA W/ NIKKI BELLA VS. EMMA; The Bella Twins have certainly had an up and down year so far in 2014. They have beaten legendary Divas like Victoria and Molly Holly, but have also earned multiple Women’s Title shots. Unfortunately, they have been unsuccessful in dethroning Paige. Emma is Paige’s best friend, and recently spoke out about getting more opportunities, while also taking more of a serious approach. She looks the part here, picking up the win after making Brie submit to the Emma Lock. Emma defeats Brie Bella in 3:38!Emma quickly rolls out of the ring as Nikki Bella enters and doesn’t look happy. Emma cut back on the dancing and antics tonight and was able to score one of the bigger wins of her career so far. The Bellas look on in disgust at Emma reaches the top of the ramp. AJ Lee rushes out behind her and throws her off the stage and onto the floor below! “Oh my god! What the hell did AJ do that for?” asks Michael Cole. AJ Lee looks down at Emma’s fallen body with a crazed look in her eyes. Officials show up to check up on her and seem to be calling for EMTs. The WWE Women’s Champion, and Emma’s best friend, Paige makes her way out to check on her friend, brushing right past AJ. After Paige talks to the EMT for a moment, she stands up and points at AJ. The crowd comes alive as Paige climbs up and gets in AJ’s face, demanding to know why this happened. “What the hell is your problem? Your issue is with me, not Emma!” AJ just stares at her for a few moment, breaks into a wicked smile, and then skips away and to the back, leaving Paige flabbergasted. The medics continue to try and carry Emma out of the arena.
Returning, we see Paige storming around backstage looking for AJ Lee. She’s shouting through the halls in search of her opponent at Hell in a Cell. She is stopped by Triple H, who tries to calm her down. She wants to hear none of it, citing that AJ Lee can’t get away with what she just did. Triple H is the voice of reason for the woman he gave an opportunity to in NXT, telling her that AJ shouldn’t be her concern right now. “You need to be with Emma. She is being taken to the hospital and your best friend needs you. You will get your crack at AJ at Hell in a Cell. Hell, you’ll be locked in with her and you won’t need to find her. Get your head right and see your friend for now.” Paige seems to calm down a bit and walks off.
Tom Phillips, in a tone fitting the mood after AJ Lee’s actions, leads us into a recap of the Survival Trials this week. Bad News Barrett beat Sami Zayn on Main Event to pick up two points and Chris Jericho gained his third and fourth points earlier tonight. On Raw, John Cena rebounded by beating Dean Ambrose, while Alberto Del Rio continued his winning ways against Seth Rollins. In the biggest news of the tournament so far though, Cody Rhodes did the unthinkable and handed Roman Reigns his first loss to take over first place! Renee Young is standing by with the man of the hour, Cody Rhodes. She congratulates him on beating Roman Reigns and asks for his thoughts regarding the rest of the tournament. Cody thanks her but says the job is far from done. “Beating Roman Reigns is just one thing. There are still five matches left including the one at Hell in a Cell with John Cena. I’m not trying to be boastful but when I call myself the ‘Prince of Pro Wrestling’, it isn’t just some moniker. I was born with this business in my blood and something like the Survival Trials is what I’ve waited for my entire career. I don’t need to worry about waiting for an opportunity; I can just take it.” SURVIVAL TRIALS – ADRIAN NEVILLE (4) VS. WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION SHEAMUS (4); Our first hour main event brings us the final Survival Trials match of the evening. Despite being on the winning side of a six man tag on Monday, Sheamus may still have Dolph Ziggler and Hell in a Cell on his mind because Adrian Neville has a clear upper hand from the start. He uses his quickness to outmaneuver the Intercontinental Champion but once Sheamus catches him, the tide begins to turn. Sheamus signals for the Brogue Kick, but Neville ducks it, runs up the ropes and leaps off with a huge moonsault. He bridges it, holding Sheamus’ legs and the referee counts three. Adrian Neville defeats Sheamus in 12:47!Just like the 1-2-3 Kid infamously did to Razor Ramon back in 1993, Adrian Neville has upset the “Celtic Warrior”. Sheamus is livid as Neville slides out of the ring and throws his hands in the air. The Intercontinental Champion is nearly pulling his hair out over this and screams, but Neville continues to celebrate on the ramp.
The fans come to their feet for the arrival of the Shield. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns make their way down to the ring through the stands and seem to be here to address the WWE Universe. Ambrose gets on the microphone first, saying that he’s getting a little sick and tired of what’s been happening during the Survival Trials. “I started this damn thing 2-0 but what the hell happened? Suddenly, I can’t buy a win and I’M SICK AND DAMN TIRED OF IT!” Seth interjects, calming Dean down and telling him not to overreact. “There is still a lot of time left to turn things around. The real focus of us coming out here tonight is the rumors. You all know what rumors I’m talking about. The ones that say there is dissension within the Shield because of these Survival Trials.” The fans boo the idea as Seth continues, saying that he admits things have been a bit rocky but that’s to be expected with competition like this. “Yea, I was mad as hell when Dean beat me on the first night, but have you seen me attack him? Just like at the start of this year, people wanted to believe there were cracks in this Shield but there aren’t.” Roman Reigns speaks next, saying that they are as strong as ever as a unit. “We’ve beaten the New Age Outlaws, Evolution and the Wyatt Family. We’ve overcome me having to join the Wyatts and wars with the Authority. Nothing comes between us. At Hell in a Cell, Seth and I are going to step into this, we’re gonna do battle and one of us is going to win. The other one is gonna be pissed and he has every right to be. But the next night, we’re gonna be just as strong, if not stronger. That’s what brothers do. We fight each other and then we fight together.” Reigns puts his fist out and Seth gives it a second before putting his in too. A frustrated Ambrose thinks about it and the fans chant “Yes” before he finally does it. “Believe that…and believe in the Shield” says Reigns before their theme hits and they exit.
ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. CHRISTIAN; Recently, rumors have been flying around that Christian is nearing retirement. It didn’t look like it here, as he comes out with fire. Christian may be trying to prove a point. He has the crowd in the palm of his hand when he scores with a sunset flip and gets a near fall that even rattles Lana. Alexander Rusev groups following a vicious sounding shuffle side kick, earning the win. Alexander Rusev defeats Christian in 2:39!Lana climbs the steps to enter the ring while Alexander Rusev enjoys the win. Lana has a microphone and states that she has some news for the WWE Universe. “Earlier today, I had a word with the great Stephanie McMahon. I told her what you all see. My ‘Super Athlete’ Rusev has been dominating the WWE since WrestleMania. He has never been pinned, nor has he submitted. Yet Rusev was left out of the Survival Trials. No matter because Rusev set his sights on something else. Alberto Del Rio and the WWE United States Title. Stephanie McMahon has granted Rusev his rightful shot and, at Hell in a Cell, Rusev will CRUSH Alberto Del Rio and reign over this entire country!” Rusev screams at the top of his lungs. Could he be our next United States Champion?
Backstage, Renee Young is standing by with former WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan. She says that Bryan is not scheduled to compete tonight, but he is here. She wants to know why. Bryan says that it’s simple. “With the Authority, it’s almost never a one on one fight. I fully expect Randy Orton or any number of other Authority members to be lurking around the main event next and I’m going to do my best to have Dolph Ziggler’s back.”
Cutting to the back, Bo Dallas and the Big Show are shown in their locker room. Bo has a huge grin as he tells Big Show that it’s finally come in for him. “For the first time ever, the famous Bolieve shirt is now available in 5x. You can finally proudly show that you’re a Boliever. Surprisingly. Big Show seems much more into this than expected. He pulls the shirt over his head but it’s still too small. Show gives Bo an annoyed look but Bo is undeterred. “Come on Show, you can make it fit. Just Bolieve hard enough and it will fit!” Show tries once more, getting it over, but it rips open when he nearly gets it done. Bo is somehow stunned by all of this but blames it on Show’s lack of Bolieveing, saying they need to work on that. BATISTA VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; Soon after the match begins, we indeed see the arrival of Randy Orton, as he strolls to ringside with his half of the Tag Team Titles. Just as he stated in the interview earlier, Daniel Bryan comes out to try and even the odds. Batista overpowers Dolph Ziggler from the start, but the former Intercontinental Champion comes back with a loud superkick. He covers but Batista kicks out. Ziggler charges only for Batista to catch him with a spinebuster. He starts to shakes the ropes and goes for the Batista Bomb. Ziggler punches away to break it up and as he falls, he comes down with a Zig Zag! Orton slides into the ring and starts pummeling Ziggler. Dolph Ziggler defeats Batista via disqualification in 10:55!Daniel Bryan doesn’t allow this to stand, entering the ring and taking it to Randy Orton with a series of strikes and kicks. He lays into Orton in the corner but Batista is up and levels him from behind. Dolph Ziggler begins to stir, but Sheamus runs down to the ring and immediately Brogue Kicks him down! Ziggler never had a chance to defend himself. This leaves Bryan all alone with the Tag Team Champions, who flatten him with the Batista Bomb/RKO combination. For the second straight tie this week, the Authority have left Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler unconscious.

Contract signing set!For the first time ever, the WWE Intercontinental Championship will be defended inside of the Hell in a Cell in six nights when Sheamus goes up against his rival, Dolph Ziggler. If you recall, Ziggler ended Sheamus' reign of terror at SummerSlam, only for Sheamus to take the gold back at Night of Champions. Not only did Sheamus dethrone Ziggler, but he tried to end his career with vicious chair shots. Sheamus still carries the blood stained chair to the ring with him. Ziggler returned and his rematch is set for this Sunday's Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View. Tonight though, they will share the ring when they officially sign the contract for this historic match. Can they keep their cool or will they come to blows just days before their showdown?
