Thursday Night Smackdown: February 12th, 2015 – Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio
A major episode of Smackdown kicked off with Triple H addressing the WWE Universe from his office. He reminded fans that though he’s in control of the WWE now, Hulk Hogan’s announcement from Monday stands. “Daniel Bryan indeed finally gets his rematch at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tonight in the main event against Seth Rollins. But I also wanted to address the elephant in the room that is Bray Wyatt. He challenged me to put my control of the WWE on the line. I’ve been mulling it over and still am. I can guarantee you that I’ll have an answer for Bray and everyone else on Raw this Monday.” The weekly intro video following the WWE signature. Mauro Ranallo, Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips introduced the show, plugging the big WWE World Heavyweight Title match. “That’s not all because we will also hear from Shane McMahon and the Miz has promised a special preview tonight,” explained Ranallo.
CODY RHODES DEF. ALBERTO DEL RIO IN 6:47; Since getting attacked by Sheamus, Cody Rhodes has found himself in Authority crosshairs even though the group is no longer in power. Tonight, he faced former United States Champion, Alberto Del Rio. After retiring Rey Mysterio, Del Rio has fallen on hard times and it continued here when he fell in surprisingly short order to the Cross Rhodes. Cody offered a handshake after the bell but Del Rio declined. A video package aired to highlight the next addition to the Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Joining “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Vader will be Diamond Dallas Page! Renee Young was now standing by with Shane McMahon. She asked him if he had any word on Triple H’s upcoming decision regarding Bray Wyatt’s challenge for power. Shane said he honestly doesn’t know. “Triple H hasn’t discussed it with me yet but we’re gonna talk over the weekend and I’ll be with him on Raw when he calls out the Wyatt Family. Yes, I left the WWE for a long time but this is still home and I’m gonna defend it as long as I can.”
EMMA DEF. JESSIE MCKAY IN 2:04; Jessie Mckay has recently been seen making sporadic appearances on NXT. She was no match for fellow Aussie and WWE Women’s Champion Emma. During Emma’s entrance, clips were shown of Paige’s passionate promo from Raw. Emma made Mckay tap to the Emma Lock.
A video recap from Raw was shown of Ryback’s return. After defeating WWE United States Champion Alexander Rusev via disqualification at the Royal Rumble, Ryback stepped away from WWE television. He returned and sent Rusev packing on Monday. Ryback returns to the ring on Raw next week.
We were now taken to the preview The Miz promised on Twitter. It opened like a typical film preview before a voiceover said, “In a world full of wannabe superstars, one A-Lister rises above them all.” Clips aired of the Miz beating up several Superstars. “He captivates audiences, conquered the main event of WrestleMania and puts on award winning performances in and out of the ring. Prepare yourselves because this year will be the greatest of his spectacular career.” Miz now appeared atop a mountain in the video, with Summer Rae kneeling beside him and grabbing his leg. He spoke, saying that in 2015 he would become WWE World Heavyweight Champion and win an Oscar.”
CESARO W/ NATALYA AND TYSON KIDD DEF. CHRISTIAN IN 8:22; With a WWE Intercontinental Title match on the horizon, Cesaro has been riding a wave of momentum. Christian fought hard but had the Killswitch countered into a popup uppercut, suffering the loss. A video package aired, set to “Set Me On Fire” by Flyleaf, showing highlights of both Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. The “brothers” didn’t turn on each other after Seth Rollins broke up the Shield but following the events of the Royal Rumble, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the main event of WrestleMania has come between them.
WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – SETH ROLLINS (C) DEF. DANIEL BRYAN W/ CM PUNK IN 32:38; This began as your standard match but turned into quite the marathon. Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan exchanged holds, strikes and offense with neither man gaining a clear upper hand. Finally Seth used a well-timed low blow to take over. He wore down Bryan for a while until CM Punk and the crowd helped start a rally. Bryan fired off his signature offense and applied the Yes Lock but Seth reached the ropes. Bryan called for the Busaiku Knee but Seth moved and the referee got hit instead. Seth scampered outside for a steel chair but Punk slid in and stopped him from using it. He snatched it away as Bryan got up. Punk looked at Bryan before rolling outside with the chair. Bryan and Seth traded blows. Bryan backed him into the corner, hitting a dropkick. He tried the Yes Lock again, but Seth rolled through and pulled Bryan into a pinning combination that got the three.
Seth Rollins was handed his title and laughed in the face of a disappointed Daniel Bryan. Bryan couldn’t believe he fought so hard and let this slip through his fingers. Seth exited when CM Punk entered to console his buddy. Punk helped Bryan up and pulled him into a hug, getting a round of applause from the WWE Universe. Then suddenly, Punk struck with a vicious kick to the skull! “What the hell?” asked Mauro Ranallo. The crowd booed loudly while Punk stood over his fallen partner. Not done yet, Punk picked up Bryan and nailed a Go to Sleep. “This is uncalled for,” shouted Byron Saxton. Punk brought the steel chair in, wrapping it around Bryan’s shoulder. He climbed to the middle rope and jumped off, crushing Bryan’s arm. “This is sickening,” said Tom Phillips. Officials came out to help Bryan, who rolled around in agony. Punk put his hood on and left up the ramp to boos.

Monday Night Raw: February 16th, 2015 – Amway Center in Orlando, Florida
The weekly Raw intro video played to open the broadcast. Before the commentary trio of Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield could welcome viewers to the show, “King of Kings” hit the speakers. Triple H and Shane McMahon walked down to the ring, ready to answer Bray Wyatt’s challenge from last week. Triple H spoke first, saying that he was here to get down to business. He reminded fans about Bray’s challenge and said that he has a vision for the future of the WWE. “That vision involves things I believe can improve the show on a weekly basis but one thing it doesn’t involve is someone like Bray Wyatt at the helm.” Before Triple H could continue, the Wyatt signature hit as Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan appeared on the stage. Bray told Triple H that his concern shouldn’t be about what he’d do if he was in charge. “You should only concern yourself with what we did to you, the prodigal son there and your father-in-law. Remember how angry it made you. Remember how badly you wanted to tag in against me at the Royal Rumble. That feeling is what drives you Hunter. It consumes you. You know you want to say yes. Do what Shane couldn’t. Face me and put an end to the madness.” Triple H declined again, saying he had nothing to prove. “Oh but I think you do Hunter. How well have your past times in control of the WWE gone? Didn’t the locker room walk out on you once? Didn’t you already incorrectly peg things that you thought were best for business? Give the power to me, Hunter. I am what these people need. IT’s why I did what I did to Shane, yourself and Vince. You know it’s true Hunter.” Triple H put his head down, thinking it over. Shane McMahon chimed in with his own microphone, accepting the match for his brother-in-law. Triple H’s head shot up, confused at Shane. Shane continued, “He accepts on one condition. After what the Wyatt Family has done to our family over the past few months, we aren’t quite done getting revenge. This is my proposal. At Fastlane this Sunday, Triple H and I team up and take on two Wyatt Family members. If your team wins, you get your match.” Triple H wasn’t happy but Bray quickly accepted. “Intriguing, intriguing. Brothers Erick and Luke will gladly take your challenge. I have complete faith that they’ll get me what I want,” said Bray. The signature hit and they disappeared, while Shane and Triple H continued to go back and forth in the ring.
Following the break, Shane and Triple H continued to talk backstage. HHH didn’t want to potentially give up his power. Shane responded, “Look, the Wyatt Family had us over a barrel for months until you showed up. You changed everything. We won at the Royal Rumble, I think we can win at Fastlane and in the event we don’t, I know you’ll beat Bray and keep control.” Triple H remained unsure, but picked his head up with an idea. “You’re right. Let’s take everything from these bastards. How’s this sound? At Fastlane, our match with Harper and Rowan is for the Tag Team Titles.” Shane liked the idea, saying now Triple H was getting it. HHH had one more idea, “You know what? I’m feeling up for a fight. Tonight, I’m stepping into that ring and I want Luke Harper’s ass!”
ROMAN REIGNS DEF. CHRIS JERICHO IN 10:37; Like last week, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose had separate singles matches. Before this began, Dean Ambrose came out to watch from ringside. Chris Jericho did his best to wear down Reigns but took the loss following a Spear. Ambrose smirked before leaving.
During the break, Chris Jericho threw a fit and tossed things around at ringside.
Michael Cole and company sent out a special thanks to Kendrick Lamar for “I”, one of the official theme songs for Fastlane.
Backstage, Renee Young stood by with WWE Women’s Champion Emma. She asked her for her thoughts about Paige’s promo last week and her competing for the first time since Emma cut her hair. Emma laughed it off, saying it didn’t matter. “You think I worry about anything Paige does? I took this title from her and no matter what she says, it won’t change the fact that I’m gonna beat her again at Fastlane. In fact, I don’t even care to see her tonight. I think I’m taking an early night. Good luck trying to put on a good show without me.”
A vignette aired showing highlights of the Undertaker’s illustrious career. This was considered part one, and showed clips from the Undertaker’s first run as the Deadman. In the back, Randy Orton and Batista stood in their locker room. Batista worked out while Orton walked around him and spoke about the Usos. “They ruined our chance to headline WrestleMania again. Are we just gonna let that go?” Batista shook his head “no” before turning to Randy and guaranteeing to hurt them again at Fastlane. THE NEW DAY W/ KOFI KINGSTON DEF. BIG SHOW AND BO DALLAS IN 3:01; The New Day avenged their only loss from a few weeks ago on Smackdown. Big Show proved tough as usual, but Big E hit the Big Ending on Bo Dallas for the win. The Ascension continued their issues with New Day by running out and jumping them post-match. They took out Xavier Woods with the Fall of Man, nearly splitting him in half.
Dean Ambrose was shown in his office when Renee Young walked up to him. She asked him about Roman Reigns’ victory earlier tonight. Dean chuckled and said he wasn’t too impressed. “Yea, he won but I beat Chris Jericho last week too. Anything Roman can do I can better. I also don’t want people to forget why Roman’s even in the position he’s in. He lost at the Royal Rumble and I gave him another chance because I’m crazy like that. I want him to think about that for the rest of the week.” DEAN AMBROSE DEF. ALBERTO DEL RIO IN 5:16; For this match, Roman Reigns sat at ringside like Ambrose did earlier. Similar to Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio continued to struggle and fell in relatively quick fashion to Dirty Deeds. Roman entered the ring to come face to face with Dean, but Dean didn’t even look at him, exiting and heading up the ramp.
He spoke, saying that in 2015 he would become WWE World Heavyweight Champion and win an Oscar.”A second vignette aired to promote the Undertaker’s return this Sunday at Fastlane. This one focused on the first half of his WrestleMania victories. Those included wins over the likes of Jimmy Snuka, Jake Roberts, Diesel, Kane and Ric Flair. PAIGE DEF. CAMERON IN 1:31; Commentary noted that Emma was scheduled to join them but she left the arena. Paige dominated this one, squashing Cameron in the process. She made her tap to the PTO with ease. Paige grabbed a microphone after the match, addressing Emma. She said she didn’t care that Emma left early or whatever Emma thinks of her because on Sunday, she’s taking her title back.
Michael Cole somberly led viewers to a video recap of the match between Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan on last week’s Smackdown. Seth retained the title but the real story came after. CM Punk brutally attacked his friend and partner, Daniel Bryan, sending him to the hospital. The WWE Universe gave CM Punk a mixed reaction but mostly boos, as he walked down to the ring. The boos rained down when he spoke, saying he was disgusted. “I say I’m coming out here to speak and the idiots making the graphics tell you all I’m coming out here to explain my actions on Smackdown. Are you kidding me? I don’t owe you, Daniel Bryan or anyone an explanation. I did what I did because I felt like it.” Punk continued, saying that it was a long time coming but he wasn’t going any further into it. “What I did come out here for is to let everyone know that the CM Punk who takes a backseat is gone. Remember the guy who held the WWE Title for 434 days? I liked that guy. But that guy had to take a backseat to the Rock, to the Undertaker, to Brock Lesnar. So I left and you know what? I was happy. I relaxed, I wrote a comic, I got married and life was good. I came back to become that guy at the top again but I didn’t. I beat Triple H at SummerSlam and what did that get me? I’m not the WWE Champion and I’m not main eventing. That’s all gonna change. I am the best in the world and I will be back at the top of this damn company.” Punk walked off to another mixed reaction. RYBACK DEF. DAMIEN SANDOW IN 2:45; After making a return last Monday, Ryback got back in the ring this week. Damien Sandow tried his best but fell to the Shell Shock. As Ryback celebrated, he chanted “FEED ME RUSEV.” Backstage, Alexander Rusev and Lana watched on a monitor and they did not look pleased.
Randy Orton and Batista made their entrance for a tag team match. Suddenly, they were jumped from behind by the Usos. The crowd came alive as the Usos’ hunger for revenge continued. Jey traded blows with Orton, while Jimmy battled with Batista. Batista took advantage and looked to launch Jimmy off the stage. Jey cut him off with a shot from behind. Officials ran down to break things up but things continue to get more heated between these teams. Jey slipped free of the guards and leapt onto Batista and Orton. The brawling continued through the commercial break. Michael Cole informed viewers that John Cena would be appearing on the comedy show Parks and Recreation later this week! The ring was set up for a contract signing, hosted by Renee Young, who announced she would oversee this while Triple H prepared for his match tonight. She first introduced the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena. Cena came out to a mixed reaction and waited on one side of the table. Renee brought out the champ, Seth Rollins, who had a big smirk on his face. Once across from one another, Cena quickly signed the contract. Seth went to do the same but stopped and grabbed a microphone. He said he wasn’t just gonna let Cena off without saying something. “John, what’s happened to you? You’ve been ‘the man’ around here for years. Hell, at WrestleMania, it’ll be a decade since your first WWE Title win. But have you really been the man recently? I mean, in 2012 you didn’t hold any gold at all. You beat the Rock in 2013 but lost to somebody from generation, Daniel Bryan. And in 2014, you again didn’t hold any World Titles. You and everyone here knows that you don’t deserve this title shot at Fastlane.” Seth teased not signing the contract for that reason before saying he would. “I thought about it for the past week but this match is the best thing for me. Think about it. Daniel Bryan beat you for this title, yet I beat Bryan fair and square on Smackdown last week. I successfully cashed in Money in the Bank, which is another thing you failed to do. I even won my first WWE Title in quicker fashion than you did. Face it John, you were the man but that time has passed. I’m the man around here now. Everyone knows it and I can see it in your eyes, John. You know it more than anyone else.”
Seth signed on the dotted line and went to leave but Cena picked up the microphone, telling him to stop. Cena admitted that Seth was partially right. “I haven’t had the best years of my career recently. For a guy with as many World Titles as I have, I certainly haven’t won any in two of the past three years. You’re also right about beating Daniel Bryan, which I haven’t done. By the way Daniel, get well soon and I’m still waiting on a rematch, brother. Seth, you also did indeed win a World Title quicker than I did, but that’s mostly because you sold your soul to the Authority like a little bitch.” The crowd popped at that and it was clear Cena was getting serious. “You may very well be the man one day. That day could be sooner than I’d like but I guarantee one thing, son. That day ain’t today and it ain’t this Sunday. I’m still the measuring stick around these parts. There’s a lot more than just that prestigious title on the line at Fastlane. You need to show the world that you can back up your big mouth and I’m gonna show the world that my time isn’t up. This is gonna be the toughest match of your career. Because I’m John Cena, recognize.” Cena dropped the microphone and exited the ring, leaving Seth to clutch his title tightly. DOLPH ZIGGLER DEF. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA IN 8:16; In a rematch from the Royal Rumble, two of the best in-ring performers in the WWE did battle. The Intercontinental Title wasn’t on the line here, with Kidd just looking to soften up Ziggler for Cesaro. It worked to an extent, as Kidd targeted Dolph’s lower back. The champion still pulled out the win with a superkick from out of nowhere. Cesaro, who was absent at ringside during the match, ran out during the pinfall. He slid in the ring and clocked Ziggler in the lower back. Cesaro locked him in the Sharpshooter, furthering the damage to the back. Natalya checked on Tyson Kidd, while Cesaro wrenched back on the hold. He let go and high fived Kidd once he got up. Renee Young stood by for the final time tonight, with Roman Reigns. She asked him about Dean Ambrose ignoring him earlier tonight. Roman shrugged it off, saying it was fine. “When the Shield was together, I was the muscle, Seth was the architect and Dean was the wild card. Sometimes, that wild card tried getting in people’s heads. That’s what he tried to do tonight but it’s not gonna work. I’m in the right frame of mind and nothing’s gonna stop my focus on the main event of WrestleMania.”
A final vignette was shown to highlight the Undertaker. This one showed the back half of his hallowed streak with wins over Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Batista, Triple H and CM Punk. The original piano version of Undertaker’s theme played, showing the loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. We haven’t seen the Undertaker since, but that will change this Sunday.
SHEAMUS DEF. SIN CARA IN 2:57; Sheamus was quickly distracted by his opponent for Fastlane, Cody Rhodes, walking to ringside. It allowed Sin Cara to hit some springboard offense until he bounced right into a Brogue Kick. Sheamus stared down Cody as the referee counted three. Cody didn’t break eye contact either as the show went to commercial.
TRIPLE H W/ SHANE MCMAHON DEF. LUKE HARPER W/ THE WYATT FAMILY VIA DISQUALIFICATION IN 12:04; The WWE Universe was ecstatic at the in-ring return of Triple H. He hasn’t competed on Raw since last May. He and Luke Harper battled, trading strikes and offensive blows. HHH nailed a spinebuster but Harper countered a Pedigree with a back drop. He hit the discus lariat but HHH managed to get a shoulder up. He tried another but HHH ducked and this time nailed the Pedigree. Erick Rowan ran in and hit HHH, causing the disqualification.
Shane McMahon charged in and began firing punches at Erick Rowan. Rowan backed him into the corner but turned around into a spinebuster from Triple H. Bray Wyatt watched this all unfold from his rocking chair. Luke Harper was back up, but with Rowan down, he stood alone. Shane and Triple H dared him to fight but Bray got up and shouted for Harper to fall back. He rolled out of the ring and pulled Rowan with him, leaving Shane and Triple H ready for a fight but having to wait until Sunday.

WWE NXT: February 18th, 2015 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
A recap of TakeOver: Rival opened the show tonight. The highlights were Sasha Banks retaining the NXT Women’s Title against Becky Lynch, Finn Balor winning the Number One Contender’s Tournament, the debut of Bobby Roode and Austin Aries and Kevin Owens’ brutal beating of Sami Zayn as he captured the NXT Championship. Before heading to the ring, General Manager William Regal spoke from his office. He welcomed the viewers to the show but had bad news. “After the attacks he suffered at TakeOver, I regret to inform you that Sami Zayn will be out of action for a few weeks, maybe even months. We are monitoring him closely but when you get dropped on your head the way he did, we can’t be certain of how serious it could be.”
Following the weekly NXT intro video, Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Renee Young introduced tonight’s broadcast. Before they could go into detail, the music of the new NXT Champion, Kevin Owens, hit. He walked to the ring to a mixed reaction, the title draped over his shoulder. Once inside, Owens grabbed a microphone and waited for the crowd to quiet down. Owens said that he told everyone what would happen. “I warned you, I warned William Regal and I warned Sami Zayn. This title on my shoulder is exactly what I came here for. This means more money and food on the table for my wife and kids. That’s it. Sami Zayn was a casualty of that. You may not like it but collateral damage is acceptable to me. Our past friendship may have been the most important thing in Sami Zayn’s life but it does not trump my family.” Owens continued by saying the fact that Sami got injured is not his fault, it’s Sami’s. He got interrupted by the theme of Apollo Crews. Crews spoke on his way to the ring, saying that he can’t believe Owens. Crews said he’s been friends with Kevin Owens for a long time and he’s seen him do some dastardly things but this was too much. “You and Sami had issues before. You’ve probably wrestled each other nearly as many times as you’ve teamed up. But this is out of hand. You can tell us it’s about that title and that it’s just business but that’s a lie. You ruined Sami’s big celebration and you put him in the hospital. You clearly didn’t just want to win the NXT Title at TakeOver, you wanted to hurt your friend.” Owens responded by telling Apollo this wasn’t his concern. “Stay out of my business, or end up next to Sami.” Owens walked off and left the ring. Apollo turned and dared Owens to try it right now, challenging him to a match. Owens told Apollo he doesn’t make the terms. “I have no problem beating you tonight but I only wrestle if it’s in the main event and no, this title won’t be on the line.”
SHELTON BENJAMIN DEF. ELIAS SAMSON IN 3:28; The crowd came unglued at the shock of hearing “AIN’T NO STOPPING ME”. They popped hard for the surprise appearance of Shelton Benjamin, who also had a surprise run in the Royal Rumble. He got to showcase that he still has it and put away Samson with Paydirt.
Devin Taylor stood by with Hideo Itami, who defeated Tyler Breeze at TakeOver. She asked him for his upcoming plans now that Tyler Breeze is behind him. Itami said his goal has never changed. “I still want the NXT Title.”
An ad ran to promote Fastlane, which airs this Sunday on the WWE Network! CHARLOTTE DEF. NICOLE MATTHEWS IN 4:19; Independent wrestling standout Nicole Matthews was signed a while back. This was the first look at Charlotte since a loss to Sasha Banks last month. Matthews busted out some impressive moves and picked up some near falls. Charlotte proved to be too much, beating her with Natural Selection.
Charlotte’s theme music was cut off by a video package airing on the tron. It showed a fit blonde woman training and lifting weights. She was then shown in the ring, tossing other women around with relative ease. The words “THE TOTAL DIVA IS COMING” flashed across the screen before her name, “DANA BROOKE” appeared. Charlotte looked annoyed at the interrupted and unimpressed. Back to Devin Taylor, who introduced her guest, Corey Graves. She wanted to know how he felt about losing in the finals of the tournament at TakeOver. Corey said it was a dumb question, because it obviously sucked. “But the one positive to come from it is that I realized something. I’ve won the NXT Tag Team Titles, I’ve won the NXT Championship, I’ve headlined a TakeOver. I mean, I’ve honestly done it all here. Maybe it’s time for Corey Graves to find some new challenges.”
A recap was shown of one of the biggest news stories to come out of TakeOver, the arrival of Austin Aries and Bobby Roode. After Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady retained their NXT Tag Team Titles against Blake and Murphy, Aries and Roode arrived and put the tag team division on notice. “Next week, Aries and Roode will be here at the Full Sail Arena!” said Rich Brennan. Before the next segment, cameras caught Tye Dillinger walking through the crowd holing up a sign with the number “4” on it. They were confused by this but Tye continued to walk around into the next segment.
An advertisement aired to plug the WWE Shop. It was followed by a promo to hype the WrestleMania Reading Challenge coming to a school near you.
The All-American Real Americans were in the ring when the cameras returned. They did the “WE THE PEOPLE” hand gesture before Zeb spoke, saying there are injustices going on around NXT. “Austin Aries. Bobby Roode. That weird little guy and his tall, goofy friend being Tag Team Champions. Jack Swagger not getting a fair shot in the Number One Contender’s Tournament. These are travesties because the three men standing in the ring with me should hold all the gold in NXT. It seems to me that General Manager William Regal has a prejudice against the real Americans standing in the ring with me.” Zeb continued by saying it was time for the non-Americans around NXT to move over and give opportunities to the people who deserve them. “LU-CHA! LU-CHA! LU-CHA!” The crowd popped as Kalisto and Sin Cara walked out. Kalisto said he was offended by Zeb’s comments. Zeb retorted that people like the Lucha Dragons are exactly what’s in the way of greats like Chad Gable and Jason Jordan getting fair opportunities. Kalisto responded by saying they might get more opportunities if they didn’t waste their time whining. Angered, Zeb dared them to say it to his face. The Lucha Dragons responded by charging the ring. They held their own for a bit but the numbers game was too much. They ate stereo German suplexes from Gable and Jordan. The team went to leave, but Swagger slapped an ankle lock on Kalisto and refused to let go. Zeb egged it on, but Gable tapped him, trying to get him to stop. Zeb ignored him and Jack continued to wrench on it until Zeb finally gave in to Jordan and Gable, having him release it.
A commercial ran for WrestleMania 31, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy, featuring clips of the roster. BARON CORBIN DEF. ANGELO DAWKINS IN 0:34; After successfully avenging his loss during the Number One Contender’s Tournament to Evan Bourne, Baron Corbin continued his path of destruction. The End of Days quickly ended Dawkins.
For the final time tonight, Devin Taylor conducted an interview. She met up with Sasha Banks in the women’s locker room, asking about the match with Becky Lynch at TakeOver. Sasha admitted it was one of the toughest matches she’s ever competed it. “Becky Lynch showed me a side of her I didn’t know existed and I’ll admit, I respect her after that match. But she also showed one other thing. That she, like the rest of the women in this company, aren’t in the Boss’ league.” Sasha guaranteed to be Women’s Champion for a long time.
Fans were now taken to exclusive footage from after Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens last week. More medics and William Regal arrived on the scene to check on the former NXT Champion. Sami could be heard saying he couldn’t feel his fingers and that his legs were tingling. Sami had to be taken out of the arena on a stretcher. KEVIN OWENS DEF. APOLLO CREWS IN 8:40; Like we saw against Solomon Crowe, Apollo Crews brought an aggressive side to this match. He and Owens traded blows and big offensive moves from the start. Crews impressed with a gorilla press slam on the big man, but Owens got his knees up on the moonsault attempt. Owens chop blocked him, taking advantage of the leg work started by Solomon Crowe last week. A Popup Powerbomb later and Owens handed Crews his first loss. Not satisfied with the win, Kevin Owens pummeled Apollo Crews with right hands. The referee tried stopping him but Owens shoved him to the ground. Owens kicked Crews to the apron until he fell to the floor. Owens followed and put him in position for the apron powerbomb. “Oh no, not this again,” said Rich Brennan. Before Owens could do the damage, Finn Balor’s theme played to a huge pop. The number one contender for the NXT Title ran down the ramp and Owens let go of Crews. He rolled inside and dared Finn to come after him. Finn slid in, but Owens left on the opposite side, picking up his NXT Title and saying this wasn’t worth it. He stormed off with Finn glaring him down.

Thursday Night Smackdown: February 19th, 2015 – BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The final Smackdown before Fastlane opened with a video recap of Triple H and Bray Wyatt’s confrontation on Raw. Shane McMahon accepted Bray’s challenge on behalf of Triple H, but only if Erick Rowan and Luke Harper can beat them at Fastlane. Triple H went to war with Luke Harper in the main event, but things broke down into a fight to close the show. Following the Smackdown intro video, Mauro Ranallo, Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips introduced the show, promising a huge final show before Fastlane.
DEAN AMBROSE DEF. GOLDUST IN 4:04; The crowd roared at the arrival of Dean Ambrose, mere days before one of the biggest matches of his career. He won with Dirty Deeds, continuing to gain momentum, just like Roman Reigns.
A graphic appeared to announce that after beating Alexander Rusev via disqualification at the Royal Rumble, Ryback gets another shot at the United States Title on the Fastlane Kickoff Show! RYBACK DEF. BRODUS CLAY IN 2:40; With a match against the brute that is Alexander Rusev on the horizon, Ryback took out another big man tonight. He impressed by hoisting Clay up and winning with the Shell Shock.
An announcement was made that Vince McMahon appears on the cover of this month’s Muscle and Fitness magazine.
This was followed by a video recap of the intense contract signing between Seth Rollins and John Cena from this past Monday.
A short recap was shown of the recent feud between the two hottest new tag teams in the WWE, the Ascension and the New Day. THE NEW DAY W/ XAVIER WOODS DEF. THE ASCENSION IN 7:23; Meeting for the first time since ending the Ascension’s unbeaten streak a few weeks back, the New Day were confident. That confidence cost them early as their jokes saw the Ascension take over. Kofi Kingston was isolated and they picked him apart. The New Day didn’t recover until a tag was made to Big E, who came in hot. He ended up planting Viktor with the Big Ending, securing the win. The three man unit danced after the bell but Konnor grabbed Kofi and launched him shoulder first into the ring post. He and Viktor left the ring before any other fireworks went off. Xavier and Big E checked on Kofi, who held his shoulder in pain.
A vignette aired to hype the return of the Undertaker this Sunday at Fastlane! The man comes around for the first time since having his WrestleMania streak ended last year.
NIKKI BELLA DEF. EVA MARIE IN 2:13; Though the focus of the women’s division is on Paige and Emma right now, Nikki Bella continues to pick up steam. She handily bested Eva Marie with a brutal forearm strike. ROMAN REIGNS DEF. DAMIEN SANDOW IN 3:12; Like his Fastlane opponent earlier, Roman Reigns looked to gain another win. Dean Ambrose walked down during the match with a bag of popcorn, enjoying the match. Reigns hit the Spear for the win. Roman Reigns stepped outside to confront Dean Ambrose. Their words couldn’t be heard, but things quickly get heated. Roman was angry, but Dean nonchalantly shrugged him off. Roman slapped the bag of popcorn into the crowd. Dean took a deep breath, but again ignored it. Roman shoved him, triggering Ambrose. He responded with a right hand and the fight was on. The former brothers traded shots, reaching the timekeeper’s area. Reigns looked to spear Dean through the barricade but Dean stopped him with a kick. Dean tried for Dirty Deeds but Reigns slipped free and hit him with a big right hand. Security and officials rushed out at this point to get in between them. Dean got pulled away towards the ramp, while Roman slipped free. He slid in the ring and flew over the top rope to take out Dean and security. “This is out of control! These guys are friends!” shouted Phillips. Security got back together and managed to separate the stars. Things are heating up just before a massive match on Sunday. Footage aired of the intense rivalry between former friends Paige and Emma. It all comes to a head this Sunday at Fastlane.Renee Young stood by backstage with WWE Women’s Champion Emma. She asked if Emma ended up watching Paige’s match on Raw. Annoyed by the question, Emma sighed and said she didn’t. “I told you I don’t care what Paige says or does. I have this title, I beat AJ Lee, I beat Nikki Bella, I beat Paige. I’m all anyone needs to be focused on.” TYSON KIDD AND CESARO W/ NATALYA DEF. THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS IN 5:02; Though they’ve chased the Intercontinental Championship recently, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro reminded everyone of their tag team prowess here. Dolph Ziggler joined commentary for this, his back still in pain from Monday’s attack. Kidd and Cesaro won with a powerbomb/blockbuster combination and Cesaro signaled that he was coming for the title.
The Usos made their entrance for a tag team match with 3MB. Batista and Randy Orton attacked them from behind as a measure of revenge from Raw. This battle didn’t last long enough for security to break things up. Orton planted Jey with an RKO on the stage, while Batista launched Jimmy into the wall, messing up the Smackdown logo. They stood tall over their opponents for Fastlane, having taken them out again.
Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Shane McMahon about his first singles match on Smackdown in over a decade. Shane said he wasn’t nervous. “I faced bigger opponents than Erick Rowan and any chance I have to get my hands on the Wyatt Family is a chance I’ll take. Oh, and here’s the man of the hour now.” The fans popped as Triple H, not dressed as the COO but rather in a leather jacket, entered the picture. He would be at ringside with Shane in the main event.
CODY RHODES DEF. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA IN 3:23; Like most other Superstars tonight, Cody Rhodes used this to pick up steam leading into Fastlane. He bested Fandango with the Disaster Kick.
ERICK ROWAN W/ THE WYATT FAMILY DEF. SHANE MCMAHON W/ TRIPLE H IN 7:19; Unlike the Harper/HHH match on Raw, this did not feature much involvement from the ringside parties. Erick Rowan instead used his power to overwhelm Shane for the most part. Shane responded with jab after jab and climbed up top for the big elbow. He missed the big elbow drop and Rowan delivered a full nelson slam for the 1-2-3.
Triple H realized that with Shane McMahon incapacitated, he stood alone against the Wyatts. Triple H quickly reached under the ring and pulled out his trusty sledgehammer. However, the Wyatt Family had no interest in attacking him. He held the sledgehammer and watched as the Wyatts stared him down from the other side of the ring. Their signature hit and they disappeared, leaving Triple H alone with a fallen Shane.

WWE Fastlane: February 22nd, 2015 – FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee It’s the WWE Fastlane Kickoff Show presented by Mountain Dew Kickstart! Shots of FedEx Forum were shown as the fans filed in. Our host Renee Young welcomed the viewers at home and introduced the pane consisting of Hall of Famer Booker T, Mauro Ranallo and Jerry “The King” Lawler. Lawler got a massive ovation when announced to his hometown faithful. Their first discussion focused on the battle between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose with WrestleMania implications. Lawler felt that their time as teammates could make for an epic confrontation. They showed footage of them together as the Shield, as well as the build to this match. The panel split their predictions before moving to discuss the Intercontinental Title situation. “Dolph Ziggler keeps putting the title up against all comers. That schedule is gonna catch up to him. I thought it would against Tyson Kidd but I say tonight is the night,” said Booker. Cesaro won this prediction battle 3-1. The next discussion was about Cody Rhodes and Sheamus. Cody eliminated Sheamus from the Royal Rumble, pissing off the “Celtic Warrior.” He’s been attacked by Sheamus ever since. This was another split prediction. The final discussion before the Kickoff match was on the tag match between the Usos and Batista and Randy Orton. Clips were shown of their match at SummerSlam and how the Usos were put on the shelf by them, as well as how their Tag Team Title reign was ended by them. Renee sent things to ringside for the United States Title match.
WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – ALEXANDER RUSEV (C) W/ LANA VS. RYBACK; There was tension in the air considering their match last month. Ryback came out firing, walloping Alexander Rusev to the corner. Rusev was forced to roll outside and regroup. Ryback followed out with a plancha to the surprise of the crowd. “Whoa! Ryback is digging deep into his bag of tricks,” shouted Michael Cole. Ryback sent Rusev back inside and tried a splash off the middle rope. Rusev rolled away to avoid it. That put Rusev in the driver’s seat as he wore down Ryback and targeted his lower back. Rusev used a backbreaker, sidewalk slam and several forearms to the midsection. He attempted the Accolade but Ryback slipped out and bounced off the ropes only to eat a savate kick. Rusev continued the assault and went for the submission again. Ryback powered up before he fully locked it in and dropped him with a backpack stunner. “STUPID!” shouted Ryback. He went to the corner, setting up for the meat hook clothesline. He turned Rusev inside out with it to a pop. “Ryback is the only man who can manhandle Rusev like this,” said JBL. Ryback hoisted Rusev up for the Shell Shock but Rusev slipped free. He delivered three consecutive headbutts to the back of the head and followed with Samoan drop. Rusev locked in the Accolade, wrenching back harder than usual. To the surprise of many, Ryback tapped out. Alexander Rusev defeated Ryback to retain the WWE United States Championship in 6:06!
The WWE Universe booed loudly but some were in shock. Alexander Rusev broke the hold this time around, content with the fact that Ryback tapped out rather than passed out. Lana handed him the United States Title, which he raised high above his head. “Can anybody stop the Bulgarian Brute? It’s nearly been a year and nobody has managed to do it,” said Michael Cole.
Back to the Kickoff panel, who discussed the previous match. They turned their focus to the personal Women’s Championship match tonight. Former friends Paige and Emma meet for the first time since Survivor Series. Surprisingly, all four panel members predicted an Emma win. “I know Paige has been more aggressive since having her hair cut, but I think Emma is just in her head at this point,” said Ranallo. Following a video package that showcased the Wyatt Family/McMahon Family rivalry, the panel talked about their big match tonight. If Triple H and Shane McMahon win, they could become one of the unlikeliest Tag Team Champions ever, but if Luke Harper and Erick Rowan retain, Bray Wyatt gets a match with Triple H for control of the WWE. To close the Kickoff show, they threw to a video package set to “I” by Kendrick Lamar, highlighting Seth Rollins’ split from the Shield, Money in the Bank win and WWE Championship win. The actual Pay-Per-View opened with a video package that showcased the top matches tonight. It started with footage of the rivalry between Triple H and the Wyatt Family, which adds a chapter in a Tag Team Title match tonight. The video transitioned to show Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns both wanting to be in the main event of WrestleMania and the war of words they’ve exchanged in recent weeks. They came to blows this past Thursday on Smackdown. “Set Me on Fire” by Flyleaf continued to play while the video focused on Seth Rollins and John Cena. Cena is the franchise and the fourteen time World Champion, but Seth is the self-proclaimed present and future of the WWE.
Michael Cole, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Jerry Lawler, who left the Kickoff panel to join the booth, introduced the show following the video and pyro. “My hometown is in for a treat! Tonight, the picture for WrestleMania should become much clearer,” said Lawler. WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP SUMBISSIONS MATCH – EMMA (C) VS. PAIGE; For the first time in history, the Women’s Championship opened a WWE Pay-Per-View. Paige got a huge reaction as she made her way to the ring, while Emma was greeted with plenty of boos. As soon as the bell rang, Paige charged at Emma and slammed her down by her hair. Paige continued on the offensive, slamming Emma’s head into the mat over and over. “The vicious side of Paige continues to shine,” said Cole. She sent Emma into the corner and battered her with knee strikes. Paige went for a suplex but Emma blocked and suplexed her into the turnbuckles. Paige sat in the corner and was met with the Emmamite sandwich. Emma dumped Paige outside and sent her into the guardrail. She choked her with ringside cables, with on break in sight in a sumbissions match. Paige elbowed out. Back inside, Paige kicked Emma away into the corner. They came to the center of the ring and traded forearm strikes. “This is one of the hardest hitting women’s matches I’ve ever witnessed,” said JBL. The shots went back and forth until Paige backed Emma to the ropes. She ducked a shot and hit the Paige Turner. Paige hooked Emma’s arms for the PTO but Emma rolled through, sending Paige outside. She looked under the ring and pulled out a pair of scissors. “Oh my god, she’s gonna try and cut Paige’s hair again,” said Lawler. Paige saw her coming and blocked the scissors, holding them back. She kicked Emma in the stomach and picked them up herself. The crowd cheered as Paige raised the scissors, teasing giving Emma a taste of her own medicine. Emma slid inside to avoid it. Paige followed by Emma greeted her with kick and delivered a butterfly suplex that she transitioned into the Emma Lock. Paige struggled, grasping to reach the ropes. She finally did but Emma wasn't done. She stomped on the back of Paige's head and kept her in the ropes. She went back to the Emma Lock, using the bottom rope across Paige's throat to add pressure. Paige turned blue in the face but wouldn't submit, so the referee had to call for the bell. Emma defeated Paige to retain the WWE Women’s Championship in 8:55!
Emma quickly exited the ring and snatched her title from the referee. Paige dropped her lifeless, unconscious arm and didn't move, while Emma bragged to everyone in the front row. "Congratulations to Emma but the real story here is the health of Paige. She's not moving," said Cole. Officials continued to check on Paige, angering Emma who wants the focus on her. She stormed to the back.
An advertisement ran, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy, to promote WrestleMania! It’s just 35 days away!
In the back, Triple H was shown pulling on his knee pad. Shane McMahon entered the office, greeting his brother-in-law. Triple H said he was ready for tonight but Shane had a surprise. In stepped Vince McMahon to a huge pop. He hugged his son-in-law. “I hope you two repeat the Royal Rumble and kick the Wyatt Family’s asses!”
BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON VS. THE USOS; Like the opening contest, this was a heated battle. The two teams have attacked each other in recent weeks and the Usos were injured at the hands of Randy Orton and Batista last year. The teams brawled around the ring in the early stages, with the referee having trouble keeping it together. Batista launched Jey into the announce table before they sent Jimmy inside. The match calmed down as Batista and Orton took turns beating on Jimmy Uso. “This is a brilliant strategy by Batista and Randy Orton,” said Cole. Orton hit his signature backbreaker and Batista scored with a spinebuster. Each time Jey attempted to get up and help his brother, a member of the opposite team cut him off and hurt him again. Finally, as Jimmy was set up for the Batista Bomb, Jey countered Orton and threw him into the steel steps. He slid in the ring and stopped the Batista Bomb with a superkick that got the crowd fired up. Jey went to the apron as the fans went wild and reached out for the tag. Jimmy crawled, inch by inch, to the corner and made the tag to his brother. Jey entered and fired off rights and lefts on both opponents. He and Orton went at it and he hit the corner hip attack that their uncle Umaga was famous for. “This is what the crowd’s been waiting for,” said Lawler. Before he could capitalize though, Batista took him out with a spear. Batista knocked Jimmy off the apron and did his thumbs down taunt. He grabbed Jey for the Batista Bomb as Orton set up for the neckbreaker combo. Again though, Jey managed to wriggle free and shove Batista forward, into Orton, squashing him in the corner. Jey superkicked Batista out of the ring as Jimmy got back on the apron. He tagged Jimmy and caught Orton with a huge popup Samoan drop. Jey dove over the top onto Batista. “WE GOT US SOME FLYING USOS MAGGLE!” shouted JBL. Jimmy climbed up top and hit a splash, picking up a huge pin on Orton. The Usos defeated Batista and Randy Orton in 11:01!
“What a massive victory for the Usos,” exclaimed Michael Cole. Jey slid back in the ring and hugged his brother, succeeding in gaining a measure of revenge on the team that put them on the shelf. They left the ring to continued applause from the Memphis faithful. Batista got up and gave a pissed look at Randy Orton, who was just getting up. Instead of joining him in the ring, Batista walked off on his own.
In the back, Dean Ambrose was shown preparing for his big match later, shadow boxing and pacing. The cameras cut to Roman Reigns taping his fists in preparation. Tonight is the biggest singles match in either man’s careers.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. CESARO W/ NATALYA AND TYSON KIDD; In a change of pace, this match got off to a slower start. It wasn’t about vengeance and saw both men trying to gain the advantage on the mat. Dolph Ziggler used his quickness and amateur background, but Cesaro got himself out of trouble by simply using his power to break free. Ziggler tried an early superkick but Cesaro dodged it and caught him with a gutwrench suplex. Impressively, Cesaro held on, following up with two more suplexes for the first near fall. “Dolph Ziggler’s title reign might be in the most jeopardy it’s ever been in,” said Lawler. Ziggler reached up and pulled Cesaro into a roll up for two. They rolled around the ring with each man getting closer to the three count in several pinning combinations. They got up together and Dolph sent Cesaro into the corner, hitting the stinger splash. Cesaro caught a dropkick attempt and signaled for the swing. Dolph again pulled him into a small package for two. This time when they stand, Cesaro attacked, sending Dolph back with brutal uppercuts. Looking to slow down Dolph, Cesaro slapped on a modified cobra clutch. Dolph faded and you could see his struggle slowing. “I think he’s out,” said JBL. Dolph gave it one last hurrah, moving towards the corner and pushing off the turnbuckle into a pin for two. Dolph ran forward and planted Cesaro with a big DDT. Dolph wanted the Zig Zag, but Cesaro reached back and caught him, pulling him into a sidewalk slam for two. Ziggler rolled to the apron, where Cesaro grabbed him. Cesaro stood on the middle rope, dead lifting Ziggler into a huge superplex. The Cesaro swing followed to a pop from the audience. He grabbed Ziggler for the Neutralizer but it was reversed into a jackknife pin for a close near fall. Cesaro caught Ziggler with a popup uppercut but Ziggler rolled outside before he could cover. A frustrated Cesaro followed out with encouraging words from Kidd and Natalya. He sent Dolph in and followed, but Dolph met him with the Fameasser. Cesaro got up as quickly as he could but was struck with a superkick, sending him to the ropes. He bounced off and Dolph hit the Zig Zag, retaining the gold. Dolph Ziggler defeated Cesaro to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 13:34!
Tyson Kidd dropped to his knees in fury as his partner failed just like he did at the Royal Rumble. Dolph Ziggler hugged his Intercontinental Title, which he’s held since October. Cesaro rolled outside and was helped up the aisle by Kidd and Natalya. Ziggler celebrated with the fans, while Michael Cole reminded viewers that Dolph has possibly run of out challengers at this point.
An advertisement was shown to plug the latest WWE Film, teaming WWE Superstars with the Flintstones!
A video package set to “Set Me On Fire” by Flyleaf was shown. It featured highlights of the teamwork between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose during their days as the Shield. It then focused on Ambrose winning the Royal Rumble after Reigns was unjustly eliminated. Dean accepted Roman’s challenge to put his WrestleMania title shot on the line and the past few weeks have seen them trying to one up each other. It boiled over on Smackdown, when they came to blows and had to be separated by officials.
DEAN AMBROSE VS. ROMAN REIGNS; There was a big fight feel in the air as the former Shield members came face to face. The crowd chanted “LET’S GO AMBROSE” and “LET’S GO ROMAN” but the Dean chants were louder. That led to Dean cracking a smile as they locked up. Roman shoved him to the mat and flexed, reminding Ambrose of his huge power advantage. They went to lock up again, but Dean sidestepped Roman and tripped him. Dean pointed to his head, showing Roman that he has the brains in the match. “The mind games have already begun,” said JBL. That angered Roman, who hit Ambrose with a right hand. Dean fired back and they traded blows in front of the raucous crowd. Roman won out, backing Dean into the corner. Before he could do anything though, Dean turned it around and nailed a suplex. He waited for Roman to get up and charged but was hit with an early Superman punch. “It could be over right now,” exclaimed Lawler. Roman covered but Dean got his shoulder up. He had a smile on his face at that, before signaling for the spear. Dean avoided it, sending Roman into the ring post. Roman rolled outside and Dean met him with a suicide dive. They continued brawling outside as Dean sent Roman into the barricade. Back inside, Dean hit a single arm DDT and worked an armbar. “I’LL BREAK YOUR ARM BROTHER,” shouted Dean while wrenching away. Roman used his strength to fight out with a powerbomb for two. Reigns sat Dean up top and hit some right hands. He followed up where Dean fought him off and nailed a sunset flip bomb for a near fall of his own. Dean went up on his own and hit the lunatic elbow before hooking Roman for Dirty Deeds. Roman blocked it, sending Dean to the ropes and hitting the Superman punch again. Dean fell back but responded with the rebound lariat! “Both warriors are down and Memphis is on their feet,” said Cole. They got to their knees and traded shots, with the crowd alternating between “yay” and “boo” chants. This took them to their feet where Roman attempted another spear but Dean spun around him and rolled him up for two. Back up, Roman delivered a strike and Dean tried the rebound lariat again, only for Roman to hit the spear! Before he could capitalize though, Seth Rollins ran to the ring and shoved the official. He planted Reigns on his way up with a Curb Stomp before immediately stomping away on Dean. The referee called for the bell from his seat. Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns ended in a no contest at 17:05!
The official announcement from the announcer got a chorus of boos, while Seth Rollins continued the assault. He grabbed a steel chair from ringside and drilled Dean Ambrose in the back as he started to get to his feet. Roman Reigns started stirring from the Curb Stomp, so Rollins hit him with the chair too. The WWE World Champion raised his arms in the air, basking in his heinous actions. “What the hell does this mean for WrestleMania?” asked Cole.
A commercial ran to plug all the upcoming events on the WWE Network, including WrestleMania!
The iconic gong rang through the arena and the fans erupted as The Undertaker was set for his first appearance in nearly a year. The “Deadman” made his slow entrance to the ring while the commentary team sat in silence. The crowd glued their eyes to his entrance. Undertaker entered the ring, removed his hat and rolled his eyes to the back of his head. The fans chanted “welcome back” before Undertaker could even say anything. He raised the microphone to his lips but was cut off by the sound of Bo Dallas’ theme. The crowd let out an “ooh”, knowing Bo made a huge mistake. He walked out with a microphone, flanked by Big Show, who seemed to be advising him against this. Bo addressed the Undertaker, telling him it was okay. “I know you were bummed when Brock Lesnar beat you last year. I understand. You were heartbroken, beaten and dare I say, you looked mortal. But I’m telling you, it’s okay. You can pick up the pieces and save your career. All you have to do is Bolieve.” Bo, now standing across from Undertaker, gave a thumbs up. Undertaker reached out and grabbed the thumb, wrenching on nit as Bo let out a yelp. He pulled Bo into a chokeslam, while Big Show watched from ringside. Undertaker did the throat cut signal before planting Bo with a tombstone. He prepared for a fight with Show, who got on the apron. Show thought better of it, dropping down and pulling Bo’s lifeless body out of the ring. As he carried Bo off, Undertaker dropped to one knee and taunted as the lights dimmed and the crowd roared. “We didn’t what he had to say but one thing’s for sure, the Undertaker is back,” said Michael Cole.
Backstage, Triple H walked backstage, ready for the upcoming match. He stopped at the medical room, entering to see Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns licking their wounds. They both stood at his arrival but Triple H reminded them that things aren’t the way they used to be. “I’m not here for a fight, I’ve got one of my own coming up. I’m here as the COO. I agree that what Seth Rollins did tonight was despicable and I understand that you both want your hands on him. That being said, I’m gonna have to have you guys escorted from the arena.” Dean and Roman protested, but Triple H said it was for the best. “Seth already ruined one marquee match tonight, I can’t have you two ruining the main event. I promise you though, tomorrow night on Raw, you two are free to confront Seth.” That didn’t make the former Shield guys happy but they weren’t as mad a few moments earlier.
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS – ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER (C) W/ BRAY WYATT VS. SHANE MCMAHON AND TRIPLE H; The intensity picked back up for this one as the two teams immediately kicked this off with a slugfest. The four men traded blows while Bray Wyatt watched from his rocking chair. Erick Rowan tossed Shane McMahon outside, while Triple H worked over Luke Harper with right hands in the corner. “They’ve paired off just like they did on Raw and Smackdown this week,” said Cole. HHH saw Shane in trouble as Rowan clobbered him by Bray, who laughed. HHH followed out and hit a running knee to take out Rowan. Triple H crotch chopped Bray but turned right into a suicide dive from Harper. He shot an imaginary arrow at HHH before sending him inside. They traded blows until HHH snapped off a DDT and tagged Shane. The boy wonder reeled off rights and lefts, sending Harper back. He made a mistake by going up top, as his cross body was caught and Harper dropped him with a huge slam. He tagged in Rowan, leading to the champions cutting the ring in half and isolating Shane. Cameras caught a nervous Vince watching on a monitor as his son took a beating. Shane finally got free with a dropkick and made a diving tag to his brother-in-law. Triple H came in hot, delivering big offense and nailing both champions with spinebusters. He attempted the Pedigree on Rowan, but Harper was up and wiped him out with the discus lariat. “The champions look phenomenal tonight,” said JBL. Harper sent HHH to the corner and ran in with a clothesline, but Shane blind tagged in. He called for a powerbomb but Shane springboarded in with another dropkick. With Harper down, Shane went up for the big elbow. Rowan shoved him off, right into HHH who was just getting up. HHH fell outside, opening the door for Harper to deliver a running powerbomb for the win. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeated Shane McMahon and Triple H to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships in 10:33!
Triple H got up in time to see Erick Rowan and Luke Harper declared as the winners. “Oh my god. Triple H now has to put up control of the WWE in a match against Bray Wyatt,” said Michael Cole. Bray Wyatt stood and stared a hole through Triple H. He had a huge grin on his face and pointed at the WrestleMania sign to a pop from the WWE Universe. The usually tough Triple H had concern all over his face.
Things were sent to the Kickoff panel, who discussed what just went down. Renee Young implied that the Undertaker will address his unfinished business soon since he was interrupted tonight. Meanwhile, Booker T worried about the future of this company if Bray Wyatt managed to take control.
CODY RHODES VS. SHEAMUS; These are two men who had strong 2015s. Sheamus tried for the Brogue Kick almost instantly, but Cody Rhodes avoided it and went for the Disaster Kick. Sheamus dodged it and they stared at one another after missing critical big blows. Sheamus took control, clubbing away at Cody and wearing him down. “This is just physical abuse,” said JBL. He beat on Cody with double axe handles, knee lifts and a powerslam. Sheamus taunted towards the audience, but his confidence cost him when Cody chop blocked him. He started focusing his offense on the leg of his larger opponent and slapped on a modified figure four. Sheamus was too long and latched onto the bottom rope, breaking the hold. Shortly after, Cody swung at Sheamus, who ducked and got him on his back for White Noise, scoring a near fall. He called for the Brogue Kick but Cody ducked and hit the Disaster Kick. Somehow, Sheamus got his shoulder up. They continued to exchange offense until Sheamus sent Cody into the corner. Cody ran up the turnbuckle and tried a moonsault, but Sheamus caught him and powerslammed him into the corner, then to the mat. Sheamus beat on his chest, signaling for the Brogue Kick. He connected on it but his cover failed when Cody got his foot on the ropes. Fuming, Sheamus set Cody for the Celtic Cross, which he hasn’t used in a long time. Cody slipped free and delivered the Disaster Kick. Sheamus didn’t fall but stumbled, so Cody hooked him and hit Cross Rhodes, getting the win. Cody Rhodes defeated Sheamus in 8:34!
A hurt Cody Rhodes got to his feet to celebrate with the WWE Universe. “Considering his performances in the Survival Trials and the Royal Rumble, as well as his wins over former World Champions Chris Jericho and Sheamus, one has to project Cody Rhodes is in for one hell of a 2015,” said Michael Cole.
The WrestleMania “35 days away” advertisement ran again, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy.
This was followed by a video package set to “I” by Kendrick Lamar. It began by showing Seth Rollins turn on the Shield at the Survivor Series and side with the Authority. He used that advantage to win the Money in the Bank briefcase at TLC before cashing in at the Royal Rumble, completing one of the fastest rises of a Superstar in history. Since then, the Authority has lost power but Seth has remained the champion. Enter John Cena as the music drifted to the background. Cena, the man Seth pinned to become WWE Champion, is the measuring stick of the WWE. In Cena’s own words on Monday, Seth needs to beat him to prove that he deserves to be champion. Cena has to win to capture his first World Title in over a year.
WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – SETH ROLLINS (C) VS. JOHN CENA; The fans gave split chants of “Let’s go Cena/Let’s go Rollins.” John Cena pointed to the crowd, telling Seth Rollins to prepare for that all night. They exchanged holds for the first few minutes, with Seth seemingly one step ahead of Cena. His smirk grew as he continued to outmaneuver Cena. “If we were scoring this on points, I’d have Seth ahead right now,” said JBL. Seth dropped Cena with a neckbreaker and went up top. He came off with a cross body but Cena rolled through, showing his power and went for the AA. Seth wriggled free and slid outside to regroup. Cena taunted him, saying he was “this close” to hitting his finisher. Back inside, Seth took a more cautious approach but Cena’s power came into play. He hit a fisherman suplex and sitout hip toss before going up top. Cena came off with a leg drop bulldog for a near fall. He hit the modified back suplex after shoulder blocks and called for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Seth quickly got up and caught a charging Cena with the slingblade for two. Not wanting to be outmatched in the power department, Seth set Cena on the top turnbuckle. Cena fought off a superplex attempt but Seth hit several right hands in a row. He delivered the superplex, rolling right thorough into a falcon arrow. “He did the deal!” exclaimed JBL. Cena got his shoulder up, but Seth was relentless. He followed with a buckle bomb but Cena again kicked out. This clearly frustrated Seth, who tore at his hair. He went for the Curb Stomp only for Cena to counter into a huge powerbomb, scoring a near fall. Cena came off the ropes and Seth set for a back body drop. Cena hopped on him and busted out a sunset flip powerbomb. “Whoa! I’ve never seen John Cena do that,” said Lawler. Seth kicked out and Cena went right into hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle. He awaited Seth getting to his feet and tried for the AA again. Seth landed on his feet to counter and delivered the Pele kick. As Cena stood up, Seth dropped him back down with the Curb Stomp. He covered but Cena still managed to kick out. Seth couldn’t believe it. “Seth just threw his best shot at John Cena and it didn’t work. Was Cena right on Monday?” asked Cole. Seth set up for another but Cena ducked and delivered the Attitude Adjustment! He covered, the fans believed it was over but this time it was Seth who survived. It was Cena’s turn to dig deep, putting Seth on his shoulders and climbing to the second rope, looking for the super AA. Seth elbowed his way free and they fell hard to the mat. Seth got to his feet first, while Cena made it to his knees. Seth hit Avada Kedavra and followed with a small package driver that finally got the three count. Seth Rollins defeated John Cena to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 19:10!
A mixed reaction came over the FedEx Forum. Seth Rollins snatched his title from the referee and hoisted it high in the air. “Seth Rollins just proved to everyone that he is THE MAN!” shouted JBL. Seth’s happiness went away as the crowd popped louder. He looked around and saw Roman Reigns coming down through the stands like the old Shield days. Seth turned the other way but the cameras caught Dean Ambrose coming down on that side. Seth ran up the aisle and to the back before anything could happen but the message was clear. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns are coming for Seth Rollins.

Raw: February 23rd, 2015 – Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee
With less than five weeks remaining before WrestleMania, Raw kicked off with a video package set to “I” by Kendrick Lamar. It was the same video from last night, but had additional footage of Seth Rollins retaining his WWE Title against John Cena in the main event. The Raw intro video played, followed by pyro and the commentary trio of Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcoming viewers to the broadcast. They couldn’t get too much in before Seth Rollins’ theme played and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion came down to the ring. He sported a wide grin despite the boos from the WWE Universe. Once in the ring, Seth said he told everyone. He proved everything he had to last night. “I beat John Cena fair and square in the middle of this ring. He put it all on the line last week when he said we were both out to prove something. Well guess what? I proved that I belong where I am. I proved that this title belongs around my waist and I proved that John Cena is finished.” Seth continued to put down Cena before turning his attention to WrestleMania. “Last night, there was a possibility of me facing Dean Ambrose or Roman Reigns for this title at the biggest show of the year. Unlike me, my former Shield partners were both losers last night. Normally, I’d say that means I’d have the night off at WrestleMania.” The crowd booed at this, but Seth continued, saying he wouldn’t miss his first WrestleMania as champion. “I think a more suitable challenger should be selected. Let’s give someone new a shot. Someone get El Torito. Or Alex Riley, what’s he up to? How about Hornswoggle?” Seth cackled at these suggestions but his face fell when Dean Ambrose’s music hit. He made it halfway down the ramp when Roman Reigns’ theme played. Seth hopped the guardrail and headed up the stands as his former brothers entered the ring, daring him to come down. Dean got on the microphone, calling Seth down for screwing them. “We were at each other’s throats last night but tonight, Roman and I are gonna work together to kick your teeth down your throat.” Before anything could happen, Triple H arrived on the scene, stepping to the stage to an ovation. He told everyone to calm down because he had an announcement. “Seth, you were right about a few things. You did beat John Cena last night and you did prove yourself in the eyes of many. But you were wrong about something specific. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns weren’t losers last night. The match ended in a no contest, which means they didn’t win or lose.” The crowd cheered, sensing what was coming. Triple H said he came to a decision. “Seth Rollins, at WrestleMania you will be defending your WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It won’t be against Hornswoggle and it won’t be against El Torito. At WrestleMania, it will be Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns in a triple threat match!” The WWE Universe erupted. Dean and Roman were happy with the news, while Seth threw a major tantrum in the audience. “Oh my god. At WrestleMania, the Shield collide in a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title!” exclaimed Michael Cole.
THE USOS DEF. BIG SHOW AND BO DALLAS IN 3:08; Less than 24 hours removed from a huge win over Batista and Randy Orton, the Usos continued their momentum. Bo Dallas was Tombstoned by the Undertaker last night and Big Show was annoyed by him. They were on better terms here but it didn’t matter. The Usos were on a mission and beat Dallas with a splash.
In the back, Triple H was shown in his office. Renee Young entered for an interview, but first said the WrestleMania main event sounded great. She asked him about the loss to Erick Rowan and Luke Harper last night and having to face Bray Wyatt for control of the WWE. Triple H said that the match is official for WrestleMania and while it isn’t ideal, he’s ready for it. “At WrestleMania, Bray Wyatt will get ‘The Game.’ As for tonight though, I think Erick Rowan and Luke Harper should defend their titles. They’re gonna defend them against the top two contenders for the WWE Title, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.”
He spoke, saying that in 2015 he would become WWE World Heavyweight Champion and win an Oscar.”. The video ended with the words “The Miz Returns Next Week!”
CODY RHODES DEF. JUSTIN GABRIEL IN 2:46; Justin Gabriel hasn’t done much lately and was next to no match for the red hot Cody Rhodes, who bested him with the Cross Rhodes.
Footage aired of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the Oscars this past weekend. John Cena made his way to the ring to his usual mixed reaction. He looked very disappointed as he entered the ring. Cena let the crowd quiet down a bit before speaking, apologizing to the people he let down. “I told you all that I would beat Seth Rollins but I didn’t. I hate to do it but I gotta give credit where it’s due. The man is a scumbag but he beat me. For one night at least, Seth Rollins was the better man.” That got a mixed reaction before Cena continued by looking at the WrestleMania sign in the rafters. He said he’s made a career out of WrestleMania moments. “I had a rap battle with a cardboard cutout of Jay-Z and Fabolous at my first WrestleMania. You’d think a career that started that way would’ve went down the drain right? No, I fought my way to win my first title a year later and two years after, I won my first WWE Championship. Since then I’ve sent back the challenges of the likes of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Batista and the Rock. But now, I stand here five weeks away from WrestleMania with no plan in sight.” Before Cena could continue, he was cut off by the sound of Alexander Rusev’s music. He and Lana walked down to the ring and entered. Lana went to speak but Rusev stopped her and took the mic. He told Cena to leave his ring. Cena gave him a confused look, saying he must not know who he’s talking to. “Look young buck, I know you’re hot right now but this ain’t your ring.” Rusev was not amused and told him to leave again. “This ring is for winners and I’ve never been beaten. Now excuse me, I have a match.” Rusev turned to his side away from Cena’s gaze. Cena still responded, saying the show will go on but Rusev better watch who he talks to. Cena left but Rusev continued to ignore him and stared straight ahead.
ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA DEF. SANTINO MARELLA W/ ADAM ROSE IN 1:10; This was just complete domination. Alexander Rusev got in nearly the offense and won with the Accolade.
A commercial ran to promote the WWE Network’s “WrestleMania Dreaming” Series. Over the next four Sundays, every WrestleMania that took place in California will be replayed with new commentary from WWE Superstars. First up is WrestleMania VII, from Los Angeles, California!
Renee Young stood by with Randy Orton, asking him about Batista leaving him in the ring last night. Orton he’s been in this business long enough to know that these things happen. “I have an ego, Batista has an ego. These things happen. He’s back in Hollywood now but there no hard feelings. That being said, we’re done as a team for the time being. I’m going to focus on me. This time last year I was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and I haven’t held gold since October. That’s gonna change sooner than you think.”
A recap was shown of several highlights form Fastlane.
The crowd rose to their feet for the arrival of the Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler. Still images were shown of his victory over Cesaro at Fastlane last night. Once in the ring, Ziggler grabbed a microphone and said it was time to bring something back. “It’s been a little while since I’ve had one of these but I think it’s time for an open challenge!” The fans roared and the pop grew a bit when the New Day showed up to answer. The crowd was confused but it became clear when Xavier Woods was the only one to slide in the ring.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) DEF. XAVIER WOODS W/ THE NEW DAY IN 10:29; In Xavier Woods’ first ever shot at the Intercontinental Title, he started hot. Dolph Ziggler showed just why he’s been such a great champion with some trademark offense that overwhelmed Woods. Kofi Kingston and Big E both got involved behind the referee’s back, allowing Woods to rack up some near falls. He went for the rolling clothesline but Dolph stopped him with a huge superkick, scoring the win.
In the back, Renee Young interviewed WWE Women’s Champion Emma. She asked her how it felt to beat Paige in a submissions match last night. Emma responded by saying it felt great because she’s done it all. “There’s nothing left. I beat Paige, I beat AJ Lee and I’ve held this title for over three months now. With WrestleMania on the horizon there’s no challenger worthy of being in that ring with me.” Emma then announced that she has something special planned for Smackdown. “Get ready to witness the Emmalution of the women’s division.”
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP – ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER (C) DEF. DEAN AMBROSE AND ROMAN REIGNS VIA COUNTOUT IN 13:06; There was tension in the air for this one. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns worked well together, bringing memories of their Shield days. As the match progressed though, Dean and Roman grew weary of one another and started to argue. Dean tagged himself in as Roman went for the spear. This angered Roman who leveled Dean. Dean responded and they fell outside with the brawl. The referee counted while they traded strikes outside until reaching the count of ten. Seth Rollins was shown watching and laughing on a monitor backstage, while his WrestleMania opponents tore one another apart.
An advertisement ran to promote WrestleMania, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy.
A recap was shown of the Undertaker’s return to the WWE last night. He was interrupted by Big Show and Bo Dallas. Undertaker took out Bo and Show chose to walk away. The Undertaker will get the chance to finish his announcement later tonight.
NIKKI BELLA DEF. NATALYA IN 3:02; Though Emma claims to have run through the women’s division, Nikki Bella continues to rack up victories. She put down the veteran Natalya with a vicious forearm.
Michael Cole directed viewers to a special video to announce the next Hall of Fame inductee. Joining Randy Savage, Vader and Diamond Dallas Page will be one of the greatest tag teams in history, the Steiner Brothers! The video package featured the University of Michigan’s fight song.
CM PUNK DEF. ALBERTO DEL RIO IN 9:13; For the first time since brutally turning his back on Daniel Bryan a few weeks ago, CM Punk was in action. Alberto Del Rio has struggled as of late, but proved to be a tough opponent. He slapped on the Cross Armbreaker but Punk reached the ropes. He tried again, only for Punk to hold the ropes and block it. Del Rio got up right into the Go to Sleep. The crowd booed Punk’s victory as he did his own “Yes” chant to celebrate. The sound of the ominous gong meant only one thing. The Undertaker was here. In his first appearance on Raw in nearly a year, the Undertaker made his slow walk to the ring, while the crowd went wild. Entering the ring, Undertaker whipped his trench coat back and removed his hat. His eyes rolled to the back of his head and the sound of thunder filled the arena. Tonight, the Undertaker got to speak, saying that WrestleMania XXX looked like the end for him. “Brock Lesnar beat me at WrestleMania and I’m not a man who makes excuses. I lost but I am not finished. You cannot kill what is already dead. But, this WrestleMania will be my last.” The fans booed loudly at this shocking news. “But before I go, I’m taking one more soul to the grave with me.” That one got a pop, which turned to confusion when the lights went out. The sound of a crow was heard and the old WCW theme of Sting played to a thunderous ovation. “Can it be?” asked Michael Cole. The icon himself stepped through the curtain, carrying his signature bat. The fans continued to roar as he entered the ring and stood face to face with the Undertaker. The WWE Universe chanted “this is awesome” as the two icons locked eyes. “The franchise of WCW and the franchise of the WWE are sharing a ring for the first time ever,” explained Cole. Sting lifted the bat and pointed it into Undertaker’s chest, drawing “oohs” from the audience. He then moved it over Undertaker’s shoulder, pointing at the WrestleMania sign to an enormous pop. The Undertaker looked back over his shoulder at the sign too. He turned back to Sting and did the throat cut signal while his eyes rolled back to a thunderous ovation. The two men didn’t break eye contact as the fans chanted “Yes!” and the show came to a close.

NXT: February 25th, 2015 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
After the WWE signature and NXT intro were completed, the commentary trio of Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Renee Young welcomed the NXT Universe to the show. They promised a big night featuring an update on the condition of Sami Zayn, words from Finn Balor and much more! HIDEO ITAMI DEF. MARCUS LOUIS W/ SYLVESTER LEFORT IN 2:44; Fresh off a victory over Tyler Breeze at TakeOver two weeks ago, Hideo Itami continued to move a step closer towards an NXT Title shot with a quick win over Marcus Louis. He got the pin after the shotgun dropkick. An ad ran to plug the upcoming Destruction of the Shield DVD. Watch the rise and fall of the most dominant faction in WWE history.
This was followed by a vignette for the debut of the “Total Diva”, Dana Brooke. She arrives next week.
AMERICAN ALPHA W/ ZEB COLTER DEF. THE LUCHA DRAGONS IN 4:26; This match stemmed from the altercation the teams had last week. The fans were split between the teams despite American Alpha using some underhanded tactics. Sin Cara made a miscue, falling on a springboard attempt and getting pinned after their assisted back suplex finisher.
Backstage, Finn Balor was interviewed about saving Apollo Crews from Kevin Owens last week. Balor said it was the right thing to do. “Kevin Owens has bullied his way through NXT so far and I’m not gonna be next.” Finn was interrupted by the arrival of Tyler Breeze. He said he sat at home since getting robbed at TakeOver and decided to move on from Hideo Itami. “But I’m still against the recent influx of uggos in NXT, including you. So next week, I make my big return to NXT and I think I’m gonna take you out before you title match. Tyler out.” He walked off before Balor could respond, but the number one contender just gave a slight smile and left too.
A commercial was shown to hype this week’s new episode of Total Divas!
This was followed by a WrestleMania XXXI ad set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy.
BARON CORBIN DEF. BULL DEMPSEY IN 0:20; The dominance of the “Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin raged on. He easily dispatched Bull Dempsey with an impressive End of Days.
Devin Taylor stood by with Shelton Benjamin and asked why he returned to NXT. Shelton said that he always intended on coming back to the WWE. “When I got that small taste during the Royal Rumble, I knew I had to scratch that itch.” Devin asked why NXT. Shelton smiled and called NXT the hottest brand in the business. “I’m here to test myself against the future of the industry and they better watch out because there ain’t no stopping me.”
Back to the arena, Tye Dillinger was once again shown walking through the crowd. He held up a sign with the number “2” on it.
COREY GRAVES DEF. MOJO RAWLEY IN 3:33; In his first match since a tough loss to Finn Balor at TakeOver, Corey Graves looked motivated. He started hot but then was overwhelmed by Mojo’s energy. He withstood it and made Mojo submit to Lucky 13.
Commentary took viewers to a recap of Kevin Owens’ brutal attack on Sami Zayn at TakeOver. When that was over, Rich Brennan informed viewers that Sami suffered several internal injuries and would miss a few more weeks. Sami did send a message that when he returns, he’s coming for Owens.
Speaking of Kevin Owens, he was interviewed by Devin Taylor next. She asked for his thoughts on the Sami Zayn update. Owens said he didn’t care. “You know Debra, you should be asking questions about me and my NXT Title. Sami Zayn is irrelevant now.” Devin turned the focus to Finn Balor. Owens said he’s watched Finn for years and knows he’s good. “But Sami Zayn was good too. Soon, Finn will be just as irrelevant.”
A commercial was shown to promote the WrestleMania Reading Challenge being doing around schools over the next few weeks.
BAYLEY DEF. ALEXA BLISS W/ BLAKE AND MURPHY IN 6:03; The huggable Bayley took on the vengeful Alexa Bliss in the main event. Bliss raked Bayley’s eyes early and took control. She took every advantage from Blake and Murphy distractions. Bayley found an opening with a corner suplex. She followed with a back elbow and the Bayley to Belly for the win.
“GLORIOUS!” The theme from most watched WWE YouTube video in the past weeks played as Austin Aries and Bobby Roode made their extravagant entrance. After the music died down, Aries spoke first, saying they were here to save NXT. “Like we said at TakeOver, for too long the tag team division in NXT has been filled with the riff raff of this roster. I mean, seriously, the longest reigning Tag Team Champions were the Ascension. Two misfits who look cosplay as the piss poor love children of the Legion of Doom and Demolition.” Roode continued, bringing up Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. “Come on, we all saw how that ended.” They moved onto Enzo Amore and Big Cass, with Aries calling them a spastic rat and the blandest seven-footer since Giant Gonzalez. This brought out the Enzo and Cass, along with Carmella. Enzo spoke first, “What do we got over here? A cuppa haters? A cuppa haters?” The fans liked it but Cass interrupted. “My bad ‘Zo but I’m not here to play games. These two talk a lot of smack, so let’s see if they can back it up. Why don’t have a match right now and shut you two up?” The crowd cheered and Cass’ challenge got a chuckle from Aries and Roode. Roode responded by saying that wasn’t gonna happen. “You don’t understand any of this do you? It’s like, you were blessed with all that height and yet you were cursed with such a tiny brain. Austin Aries and Bobby Roode don’t do things on your terms and we sure as hell don’t compete unless it’s for those titles.” Enzo was the one to laugh now, saying Roode and Austin can’t just waltz into NXT, not earn anything and get a title shot. Aries responded by saying, “If you want to get in this ring with us, then you’re gonna put those titles on the line. We don’t do non-title matches. We are stars and we act like it. We are the most glorious men that ever lived.” Enzo said, “More like the most glorious jackasses that ever lived. Hey Cass, you thinking what I’m thinking?” Cass nodded and they walked towards the ring. After sliding in, Roode and Austin backed out of the ring, with Aries reminding Enzo and Cass that things get done on their terms.

Smackdown: February 26th, 2015 – Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia
The final Smackdown of February kicked off with the weekly intro video. Mauro Ranallo, Tom Phillips and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduced the show and hyped the road to WrestleMania. They promised a major night of action and a recap of the historic close to Raw.
To open things, WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler made his way down to the ring to a hearty pop. He brought up his open challenge on Raw and said that with WrestleMania on the horizon, he wanted to do something special. “I think that the Intercontinental Title should be defend in a special way but to get there and do that, I need to be champion going into WrestleMania. Now, I could take the easy way out and not offer any more open challenge, but I’m not that kind of guy.” Dolph called out anyone from the back. After a few moments of silence, Cody Rhodes’ music played to a big pop. Dolph looked impressed and Cody applauded him as he entered the ring. Cody brought up the Intercontinental Title, reminding people who brought that specific title back. “I brought it back because I wanted to return it to the glory days of the guys we grew up watching and I respect the hell out of you for wanting the same.” The fans gave both men a round of applause as Cody continued by saying he went into WrestleMania with the title once and would lzike to do it again. Dolph took off the title and got ready for a match but Cody stopped him. “Hold on. I do want to take you up on the challenge but I have an idea. That title deserves to be a top draw. So how about you and I main event Smackdown tonight for the Intercontinental Title?” The WWE Universe cheered again as Dolph agreed and the two men shook hands. NON-TITLE MATCH SETH ROLLINS DEF. ZACK RYDER IN 2:03; During Seth Rollins’ entrance, a short recap aired of Triple H’s announcement on Monday. Seth will defend his title against Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Tonight though, the champion looked dominant and ran through Zack Ryder in short order, besting him with the Curb Stomp.
In the back, Renee Young stood by with CM Punk to a chorus of boos. She asked if he had any new information about Daniel Bryan. This angered Punk, who said Bryan didn’t matter. “I took him out weeks ago and where has he been since? Daniel Bryan is irrelevant, so you should be asking questions about me.” Before she could, Punk snatched the microphone and made her leave. He addressed the camera, saying he has moved on from Bryan and wants to get the WWE World Heavyweight Title back. “I’m the best in the world and it’s about time this place starts realizing that again.”
TYSON KIDD AND CESARO W/ NATALYA DEF. ADAM ROSE AND SANTINO MARELLA IN 2:10; After failing to capture the Intercontinental Title at both the Royal Rumble and Fastlane, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro took back to the tag team ranks. They made quick work of Adam Rose and Santino Marella, winning after a powerbomb/blockbuster combo on Rose.
The ring was set up with a red carpet and three separate items were under a cover. The music of the WWE Women’s Champion hit as Emma made her way to the ring. A quick recap was shown of her retaining the title against Paige at Fastlane. Once in the ring, Emma said that there was nothing left to prove. “Not only am I your WWE Women’s Champion but there’s nothing left for me to conquer.” Emma continued and walked to the first item. She removed the cover, revealing a portrait of AJ Lee holding the Divas Championship. “The Emmalution of the Women’s Division begins here. In 2013, AJ Lee won the Divas Title and sparked a new course for the women of the WWE. Gone were the days of champions being nothing more than models who could do the bare minimum in the ring. AJ Lee was important, she was a big deal and by association, so was the title.” Emma moved to the second item and revealed a portrait of Paige holding the WWE Women’s Title. Emma spoke about Paige being the one to dethrone AJ and bringing back the Women’s Title. “With Paige, the era of the ‘diva’ was over and she wanted to prove that we deserved to be respected. But her reign wouldn’t last long.” Emma revealed the final portrait, showing her with the Women’s Title, standing over Paige. Emma bragged that though the division needed AJ and Paige, they were merely setting things up for her. “This is my division now. The Emmalution is complete.” Emma stood with her arms out, basking in the crowd reaction when Nikki Bella came to the stage, interrupting her. Nikki said that Emma is full of herself. “I may not like AJ Lee and Paige, but I respect them and what they did for us. They were pivotal in making people look at us as legitimate athletes and not just eye candy. You as champion on the other hand? You’ve just been a self-serving, paranoid, egotistical bitch.” The crowd oohed at that remark, which set Emma off. “How dare you? Don’t you realize you’re talking to your champion?” Nikki responded, “I Know you’re THE champion but you’re not MY champion.” She then challenged Emma to a title match right now. Emma declined, citing a lack of gear tonight. “But you want a shot at the crown? Fine. I back down from nobody. This Monday, I get you a hospital bed next to your dear sister.”
ADRIAN NEVILLE DEF. SHEAMUS IN 7:06; Both men have hovered around the Intercontinental Title scene for the past few months. They could both be up for a Showoff Invitational title shot down the line. Sheamus was as brutal as ever, but he made one crucial mistake. He missed the Brogue Kick and crotched himself on the top rope. Neville delivered a series of kicks and a reverse rana to score the win.
Fans were now taken to a sit down interview that Michael Cole conducted with John Cena. They first discussed Cena’s crushing loss to Seth Rollins at Fastlane. Cena congratulated Seth to start. “He showed me that night that he’s the real deal. But as for me, it was devastating. I’ve built a career, a legacy if you will, on being the man. The face that runs the place. And yet here I sit with nothing. I haven’t held a championship since the end of 2013. I failed to unify the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles at TLC that year. I failed in the Elimination Chamber and I couldn’t get past Bray Wyatt’s mind games. So I went home. I took time off and came back ready to turn things around. I even won the Survival Trials. Things finally felt like they were going my way. Then Brock Lesnar kicked my ass at Survivor Series. Here I sit after more failures at TLC, the Royal Rumble and Fastlane. What am I supposed to do next?” At a loss for a response, Cole got stuck but regrouped by bringing up Alexander Rusev’s confrontation with Cena on Raw. Cena stared at Cole and said, “Rusev is an ass, but he’s also an undefeated monster. If I can’t get my career back on track, what makes you think I can do it against the likes of him?” Cena got up and walked off.
A video package aired to highlight the next additions to the Hall of Fame Class of 2015. The Steiner Brothers will be joining Randy Savage, Vader and Diamond Dallas Page. Renee Young stood by with Dean Ambrose. She asked him about the performance by Seth Rollins earlier tonight. Dean said it didn’t worry him. “Nothing that little weasel ever does will put fear or worry in my heart. I’m not Zack Ryder. I dare him to try that stuff on me at WrestleMania. And you know what? I dare Roman Reigns to try too.”
THE USOS DEF. 3MB W/ JINDER MAHAL IN 2:47; After defeating Randy Orton and Batista at Fastlane, the Usos picked up another win on Monday. That trend continued here, as they handily beat WWE’s resident “rock stars.” After the bell, the Usos motioned around their waists for the Tag Team Titles.
The Miz return preview aired. He spoke, saying that in 2015 he would become WWE World Heavyweight Champion and win an Oscar.”. The video ended with the words “The Miz Returns on Monday!"
Tom Phillips directed viewers to a recap of the epic confrontation at the close of Raw. The Undertaker announced that he was having his final match at WrestleMania this year. Then, for the first time ever, Sting appeared on WWE television and the two legendary icons stood face to face. Sting pointed his bat at the WrestleMania logo and the match was officially made for the granddaddy of them all.
\ ALBERTO DEL RIO DEF. DAMIEN SANDOW IN 3:54; Finally, Alberto Del Rio managed to turn some things around. He had been in the midst of a lengthy slump but made Damien Sandow tap to the cross armbreaker.
In a dark room somewhere, Bray Wyatt stood and addressed the camera. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper flanked him. He spoke to Triple H directly, telling him that the end is near. “WrestleMania is on the horizon, Hunter. Enjoy your time at the top. You see, to be perfectly honest, I don’t hate the way you captain this ship. But the times, they are a changing. I’m the leader that the WWE Universe wants, no, I am the one they need. After WrestleMania, this will be mine. All of it. The whole world will be in my hands.”
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) DEF. CODY RHODES IN 10:25; The two men shook hands before things began. They went on to put on a worthy main event with some great back and forth action. Cody Rhodes came close to winning on several occasions before missing the Disaster Kick and getting planted with the Zig Zag.
Dolph Ziggler was handed his title and clutched it tightly after another successful title defense. He stayed in the ring while Cody Rhodes got helped by the official. Suddenly, Randy Orton ran down to the ring and dropped Ziggler with an RKO. The crowd gave a mixed reaction as Orton stood over Ziggler. Cody got to his feet, so Orton also nailed him with an RKO. “I’m not sure what his intentions are, but Randy Orton has made a statement to close Smackdown tonight,” said Byron Saxton.

Raw: March 2nd, 2015 – Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey
The weekly intro played, signaling the start of Monday Night Raw. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcomed fans to the broadcast and promised a huge night in Newark, New Jersey. “Tonight, we will get a special look at the man who made a historic debut last Monday, Sting. Plus, we have two massive title matches. Emma puts the WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Nikki Bella and Dolph Ziggler defends his gold against Randy Orton! In a shocking way to kick off Raw, Daniel Bryan’s theme hit the speakers to a thunderous ovation. The crowd chanted “Yes” loudly but those quickly became boos when CM Punk stepped through the curtain. He did the “Yes” chant down the ramp before sliding into the ring with a smile. He laughed at the fans, calling them stupid for believing Daniel Bryan would be here tonight. “Did you not see what I did to him? He’s over and done with.” Punk continued on, reiterating that he’s glad to be rid of the “dead weight” that is Bryan. “With him gone, my focus is on the WWE World Heavyweight Title and yet, apparently that’s already set for WrestleMania. That begs the question…what am I to do? Three years ago, I retained that title against Chris Jericho and two years ago, I came within a hair of ending the Undertaker’s streak. By the way, who do you think softened up the Undertaker and set the blueprint for how to beat him? You’re welcome Brock.” Punk said he missed last year’s Mania because he’s the guy who should headline the biggest show of the year. “Now, here I sit a few weeks away from WrestleMania and I’ve got nothing to do. Should I pluck some past WWE star from obscurity and give him the rub of facing me at WrestleMania? Maybe I’ll go find ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at some bar and show him the error of his ways.” The crowd went nuts at that mention. “John Cena has nothing to do at WrestleMania either, maybe I’ll reignite our old rivalry.” Before Punk could continue, Bryan’s music played again to a pop. “Okay, guys. The joke’s over, I already did this.” The real Daniel Bryan appeared to a thunderous ovation. CM Punk looked like he was seeing a ghost. Bryan stared at him from atop the stage before charging down. Punk greeted him with right hands and they traded blows while the fans went wild. Bryan won out, backing Punk to the ropes and clotheslining him over and out. Punk quickly retreated up the ramp, with Bryan standing tall in the ring. The fans chanted “yes” as Bryan triumphantly stood in the middle of the ring.
A vignette aired showing some highlights from Sting’s career. His time-limit draw with Ric Flair at the first Clash of the Champions is the main focus, with Flair, Ricky Steamboat and others discussing Sting’s rise to the top of WCW.
THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE DEF. ALBERTO DEL RIO IN 6:37; After weeks of hype in the form of film previews, The Miz finally returned and made his presence felt. Alberto Del Rio finally got back on the winning track on Smackdown, but fell again to the Skull Crushing Finale here.
Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Roman Reigns. She asked him about Seth Rollins’ match against Ryback tonight. Roman said he sees Seth competing in this match to help prepare for himself. “Ryback is the Big Guy and I’m THE Guy. But Seth needs to understand one thing. There’s nobody like me. He can’t prepare for what’s gonna happen at WrestleMania. As for tonight, I think I’ll get a front row seat for the main event.”
Michael Cole directed viewers to a recap of the special interview with John Cena last week. Cena looked defeated at his recent struggles. “Regardless of what John Cena feels, he has a chance to turn things around because he’s in action later tonight!” said Cole. THE USOS DEF. THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS IN 4:39; On Smackdown, The Usos picked up a win and motioned around their waists for titles. Here, they had a respectful match with the Prime Time Players that saw them win after Jimmy splashed Darren Young. “Since their return, the Usos are the hottest team in the WWE!” said JBL.
A second vignette ran highlighting Sting’s transformation into his darker black and white persona. Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and other WCW stars spoke about the impact Sting had in that era. He was the savior of WCW in their fight against the nWo.
For the first time since getting attacked by Brock Lesnar, Stephanie McMahon made her way to the ring. She wore a neck brace and walked gingerly. She was helped by an official into the ring. The fans chanted “you deserve it” as she held her neck. She called the crowd disgusting for that but was going to ignore them the rest of the night. “I’m here for one thing and that’s to speak to Brock Lesnar, face to face.” After a few moments, Brock Lesnar’s music hit as he came to the ring, flanked by Paul Heyman. Brock stood across from Stephanie, but Heyman got in between them. Stephanie spoke, saying Brock deserved the suspension she gave him. “Hell, you deserve to be suspended for the rest of the year.” Brock stepped forward and Stephanie moved back before saying the suspension has been lifted. Brock smirked but Stephanie continued. “I didn’t end the suspension for your sake though Brock. I did it for two reasons. One, as much as I may not like you, the name Lesnar still puts butts in those seats and as a businesswoman, I couldn’t have you miss WrestleMania. The other reason is revenge.” Heyman laughed this time and addressed Stephanie. “Revenge? I’m sorry but you must not be fully healed yet. You do realize what you’re saying right? You think you can get revenge on Brock Lesnar? The former NCAA Champion. The former UFC Champion. The former WWE Champion. The 1 in 21-1. This is the man, neigh, the beast who destroyed John Cena at Survivor Series. He would still be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion if it wasn’t for Seth Rollins and a briefcase.” Paul continued, wondering what Stephanie could possibly do for revenge. “You certainly aren’t about to step in the ring with Brock Lesnar. Brock would rip your father and your brother in half. Your husband is pretty busy at WrestleMania and even so, he doesn’t seem interested in defending you at this time.” Stephanie cut him off, saying she’s a powerful woman with powerful friends. “Paul, I’ve got someone willing to back me up who is just as much of a beast as Brock Lesnar. Actually, I wouldn’t say he’s a beast. He’s more of an animal!” The fans popped for the arrival of Batista. “Oh my god,” exclaimed Michael Cole. Batista entered the ring, coming face to face with Brock Lesnar. Stephanie shouted that Batista would take Brock out at WrestleMania. “I have a contract drawn up if you’re man enough to sign it, Paul.” Before Heyman could respond, Batista snatched the microphone from him, bringing Brock even closer to his face. Batista got another pop for saying he’s not doing this for Stephanie. Stephanie responded, “WHAT?” Batista said he doesn’t care what happens to Stephanie. “I just needed you to get the contract ready. I’m here for you Brock. For too long you’ve been the ‘beast’ and for too long everyone has walked on eggshells around you. Not me. I’m not afraid of any beast. People seem to forget just who the hell I am. Get your little manservant to look over the contract and face me at WrestleMania. If you got the balls.” Batista dropped the microphone and exited, while Brock stared him down.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) DEF. RANDY ORTON IN 15:32; On Smackdown, Dolph Ziggler retained his title against Cody Rhodes, only to be planted with an RKO. Cody joined commentary for this, saying that Orton messed with the wrong man. Orton picked Ziggler apart, but the champion showed the resiliency that has defined his title reign so far. Instead of an RKO out of nowhere, this finished with a Zig Zag out of nowhere. Dolph Ziggler slid out, clutching his Intercontinental Title and left up the ramp. Cody Rhodes stood from the booth and got on the apron. Randy Orton got to his feet, seeing Cody and shoving his face, knocking him off the apron. Cody slid in and tackled Orton to the ground. He laid in shot after shot until Orton shoved him off and escaped the ring, holding his neck.
Fans were now taken to another special interview conducted by Michael Cole. This time, he spoke with the COO of the company, Triple H. After the greetings, Cole asked about Triple H’s plan against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. Triple H said he wouldn’t give away his plan but promised he had one. “People keep wondering how I’m going to combat Bray Wyatt because of his mind games but they forget who the hell I am. Just because I cut my hair and put on this suit, don’t forget who the original Cerebral Assassin is. I played mind games before Bray Wyatt even had a single follower.” Cole continued by asking Triple H what happens if he loses. Triple H didn’t like the question, but responded by saying the week after WrestleMania is when Bray would officially take over. “We need some time to sort things out and get the paperwork done.” Triple H spoke about his vision for the WWE and how he wants to make it a better place. “It started with NXT. I think some of the ideas and talent we’ve implemented there has made it a red-hot brand. I want to make Raw and Smackdown just as hot. I think we’ve done a good job recently and with the Authority, which I do take responsibility for, no longer around, things have become fair around here. I never liked the guy but when CM Punk beat me at SummerSlam, he opened my eyes to everything that was wrong around here. I’m aiming to fix that. If Bray Wyatt takes over though, it’s going to be chaos. I can’t have that happen when I just got in position to make a difference. If Bray Wyatt wins at WrestleMania, may God help us all.”
An advertisement ran to plug WrestleMania 31, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy.
Already in the ring where the WWE United States Champion Alexander Rusev and Lana. The crowd booed them as Lana began to speak, so she told them to “shut up.” She said that WrestleMania is on the horizon and nobody has stepped up to challenge her super athlete. “The Big Show. Booker T. Adrian Neville. Chris Jericho. Rob Van Dam. Dolph Ziggler. Ryback. One by one they met my Rusev and one by one they fell at his feet.” Lana continued, stating that since it’s WrestleMania, she feels Rusev should be in one of the main events. She made suggestions about people who could come out of retirement and give him a worthy match. “Hulk Hogan? Steve Austin? The Rock? Rusev would CRUSH them all.” Lana was interrupted by the music of John Cena to his usual mixed reaction. He charged the ring and came face to face with Rusev. Cena told Rusev that he didn’t appreciate the disrespect he showed last week. “I think someone needs to teach you and your mail order bride some respect. You want a big money match at WrestleMania? You don’t look far Jack.” Rusev turned to Lana and they both burst out laughing. It was Rusev who spoke this time, “Ahaha. Seriously? You think you’re worthy of facing me at WrestleMania? When was the last time you won a big match? You lost at WrestleMania last year, you lost as SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and Fastlane. That doesn’t belong in the same ring as someone who has never lost.” Cena admitted to a rough year but guaranteed that he’s the man to take the title from Rusev. Rusev laughed again, telling him that if he can prove himself, maybe he’ll give him a title shot. “I gotta warn you though John. If someone who wins consistently challenges me, I’ll take up their fight before yours.” Rusev and Lana left Cena to his upcoming match.
JOHN CENA DER. CURTIS AXEL IN 2:54; It’s a strange sight to see John Cena trying to prove himself to someone. He was determined here and easily bested Axel with the STF.
A final vignette aired to promote the upcoming Sting/Undertaker match. Stars from both the WWE and WCW spoke about both Superstars. Guys that competed in both companies, like Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan, addressed their loyalty. “Sting and the Undertaker are the most loyal people I’ve ever met. So often during the late 90’s did we see people jump back and forth. There’s no way in hell that Sting would’ve ever gone to the WWE and the same goes for the Undertaker and the WCW. Whichever ship sank, they were going down fighting with it. I think that’s what you’re gonna get at WrestleMania. Two men who aren’t going to quit and whichever one loses is gonna go down swinging with all his might,” said Hogan.
A video package aired to showcase the next addition to the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class. Already announced are Randy Savage, Vader, Diamond Dallas Page and the Steiner Brothers. Joining them will be former WWE Women’s Champion, Molly Holly!
WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – EMMA (C) VS. NIKKI BELLA ENDED IN A DOUBLE COUNTOUT IN 6:20; This one had been building for quite some time as Emma put Nikki’s sister Brie on the shelf with a brutal attack. Nikki brought fire, leveling Emma with everything she had. She got her up for the Rack Attack but Emma raked her eyes to get free. Nikki reached the ropes to break the Emma Lock, frustrating the champion. She went for the Michinoku Driver but Nikki slipped out and hit the big forearm. Emma rolled outside to avoid a pin. Nikki followed and they brawled until both were counted out.
Emma threw Nikki into the steel steps, taking over. She grabbed a steel chair from ringside and slid it in the ring. “This is uncalled for! Is there no limit to what Emma will do?” asked Michael Cole. She set Nikki up for what looked to be a Michinoku Driver onto the chair. Suddenly, Newark erupted as AJ Lee’s music hit the speakers. The former Divas Champion charged the ring for the first time in over a month. She ducked a right hand from Emma and delivered forearms of her own. She followed with the shining wizard, sending Emma packing. Nikki stirred, grabbing AJ’s side in an attempt to get up. AJ helped her to her feet, only to drop her with a spinning heel kick! The crowd continued to pop as AJ Lee picked up the Women’s Title and stared at it. Emma threw a fit outside, demanding her title back. “AJ Lee is back and she’s made her intentions clear,” exclaimed JBL.
Backstage, Renee Young stood by with Dean Ambrose. She asked him if he plans on watching Seth Rollins in the main event tonight. Dean said he wasn’t just going to watch, but he was going to be ringside. Dean walked off as his theme played, heading to the ring.
SETH ROLLINS DEF. RYBACK IN 9:20; Though he came up short in capturing the United States Title recently, Ryback gave Seth Rollins all he could handle here. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns both sat in on commentary, with some playful bickering. Rollins chopped Ryback down to size before winning with the Curb Stomp.
After the match, Seth Rollins took his WWE Title and celebrated with it in Roman Reigns’ face. Reigns smirked and Seth went to do the same to Dean, but was greeted with a right hand. The crowd came alive as Dean backed Seth to the apron with shots. Seth kicked him and slid inside, where Roman Reigns followed. Seth ducked a Superman punch but Reigns kept moving forward, drilling Ambrose, who just entered the ring, with a spear. Seth quickly exited the ring, clutching his title. “So much for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose being friendly heading into WrestleMania. There was clear intent behind that spear. If Roman’s willing to do that to his brother, imagine what he has in store for Seth Rollins,” said Michael Cole.

NXT: March 4th, 2015 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
The first NXT in the month of March opened with a video package which showcased Finn Balor’s run through the Number One Contender’s Tournament. He defeated Corey Graves in the finals and now has a shot at Kevin Owens and the NXT Championship. But first, he must get through Tyler Breeze tonight.
The cameras cut backstage to William Regal’s office. NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks entered. She said that after beating everyone in the division, she dares Regal to find her some completion. Regal congratulated her on her recent success. “But never forget that things can change at any moment. Why just tonight we’ll have the debut of a new female Superstar, Bayley and Charlotte have recent wins, Becky Lynch will be back tonight and there are still the likes of Carmella and Alexa Bliss, who you’ve yet to finish. Trust me Sasha, the competition is right under your nose.” Sasha scoffed, saying there is nobody on her level. “Roar of the Crowd” played over the weekly intro video, finally signaling the official start of the show. Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Renee Young introduced the show and hyped the main event pitting Finn Balor against Tyler Breeze. SOLOMON CROWE DEF. ADAM ROSE IN 2:31; Adam Rose got a pop for returning to NXT for a night. Unfortunately, he ran into a pissed off Solomon Crowe. Crowe made him tap in short order to the Stretch Muffler. A recap aired of the words we got from the new tag team of Austin Aries and Bobby Roode last week. This led to a backstage interview with NXT Tag Team Champions Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, as well as Carmella. They were asked about Roode and Aries’ words and how they avoided confrontation last week. Enzo called them fugazi, saying they talked tough but don’t back it up. “See, when I talk the talk, I walk the walk. Howyoudoing?” Cass chimed in, saying they’ll fight Aries and Roode anywhere and anytime, but they need to understand that they don’t show up in NXT and run things.
An ad ran to promote the latest WWE Film, which sees WWE Superstars team up with the Flintstones!
This was followed by another ad, which plugged the new WWE mobile game called “Immortals.”
Devin Taylor introduced her guest at this time, Becky Lynch. She asked where Becky’s head was following the loss at TakeOver. Becky looked disappointed as she recounted the match. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t crushed. But it’s not a place I’m unfamiliar with. I’ve been down before. I always pick myself back up though. I did it when I couldn’t get my career going nearly a decade ago, I did it when it looked like there was no way I could make it to the WWE and I’ll do it again now. My arm is mostly healed and if Sasha Banks wants competition, I’ll be happy to give it to her.”
DANA BROOKE DEF. DEONNA PURRAZZO IN 2:38; After weeks of hype, the debut of the “Total Diva” Dana Brooke had arrived. She showed off some impressive power based offense and bested Purrazzo with a Samoan driver.
After the match, Dana Brooke grabbed a microphone and said she wasn’t here to beat nobodies. “I’m the breaker of Barbies and there’s a certain tall blonde near the top of the food chain around here. So right now, I’m issuing a challenge to Charlotte for next week.” The crowd “oohed” at that challenge, knowing Dana might be biting off more than she can chew.
The All-American Real Americans were shown working out in the back. Zeb Colter encouraged Jason Jordan and Chad Gable in a push-up contest, when Jack Swagger entered. He informed them that next week, he’ll be debuting an open challenge to anyone. Gable stood up and responded, “That’s great man. We were actually thinking of doing the same thing. Let’s show the NXT Universe that the All-American Real Americans dominate the tag and singles scenes around here.” Swagger agreed but got irritated when Chad closed with, “Our opponents might be ready and willing, but they certainly won’t be Gable.”
A commercial aired for WrestleMania 31, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy.
A video package aired showing career highlights of Shelton Benjamin. The “Gold Standard” made his return to NXT two weeks ago and will be back in action next week.
BLAKE AND MURPHY W/ ALEXA BLISS DEF. THE VAUDEVILLAINS IN 5:03; The fans were unsure how to react here, since both teams have been rather villainous in their careers. The Vaudevillains were the more sympathetic duo thanks to interference from Alexa Bliss. If that wasn’t enough, they had to deal with Murphy pulling Gotch’s tights to steal a victory.
Following the match, Tye Dillinger was shown in the crowd once again. This week, he held another “4” sign up.
In a self-shot video from his cellphone, Sami Zayn addressed the NXT crowd from his hometown of Montreal. Sami stated that everything that has happened with Kevin Owens caused him to rethink things. “Kevin hurt me. Physically, mentally and emotionally. He got what he wanted. He took my title and put my career on halt. I wanted to make this video so you all can see that I’m not laid up in some hospital bed somewhere, but I do need to take time to myself and figure things out before I can come back and face Owens again.” Sami said it wasn’t goodbye, but see you later.
BARON CORBIN DEF. SAWYER FULTON IN 0:44; The dominant run of Baron Corbin continued. It took slightly longer than usual but he beat Fulton with the End of Days.
An ad ran for the “Destruction of the Shield” DVD, which is being released just in time for the huge Triple Threat main event of WrestleMania.
FINN BALOR DEF. TYLER BREEZE IN 10:59; The NXT Champion Kevin Owens joined commentary for a closer look at the number one contender for his title. Tyler Breeze raked at Finn Balor’s face and did everything he could to make him uglier. Finn returned the favor, which freaked out Breeze and caused him to regroup. Things progressed to Breeze going after Finn’s legs. It worked against Hideo Itami and takes out the Coup de Grace. Finn survived it and, knowing he couldn’t hit the double stomp, busted out Bloody Sunday for the win.
Finn Balor stood on the top turnbuckle in celebration, staring down NXT Champion Kevin Owens at the booth. Owens sat with his arms folded, unimpressed.
