Monday Night Raw: June 23rd, 2014 – Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
After the WWE Signature flashes across the screen, we see the weekly opening video set to “Tonight is the Night”. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome us to the 1,100th episode in the history of Monday Night Raw! Before they can go any further though, the music of the Authority plays. Triple H steps out onto the stage to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe. He enters the ring and allows the negative response to wash over him. He then speaks, saying that he and Stephanie took some time off last week, and things didn’t go as they had hoped. “We put Kane in charge and, while he did an amicable job, some things went awry. The Shield beat Bad News Barrett, Sheamus and Randy Orton last week on Raw and Kane himself suffered a loss to Big E on Smackdown. This kind of thing cannot continue to happen. We are the Authority and we are supposed to be the most dominant force in all of the WWE. I have grown sick and damn tired of the Shield, Daniel Bryan, Big E, Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk and guys like them defying us. This has to end. At Money in the Bank, I guarantee you that Batista is going to beat Big E, Sheamus will not lose the Intercontinental Title to Roman Reigns and the winner of the actual Money in the Bank match will be from the Authority.” The crowd boos these proclamations, but those turn to cheers when the music of CM Punk hits. He walks down to the ring and stands across from Triple H. He says that he couldn’t help but overhear his name while in the back. “It seems like you feel that I defy authority. Well Hunter, you’re absolutely right. I told you weeks ago that one of my goals since coming back is to go after you, your little suit and the Authority.” Punk continues to run down Triple H, before saying that he’s going to win Money in the Bank, respectfully win the WWE Title from his friend Daniel Bryan and continue the trend of “B+ Players” as the top guys. Triple H chuckles at this, telling Punk that none of that will happen. “As I said Punk, I’m tired of ‘punks’ like you, pun intended, being disrespectful. You can think you’re going to win Money in the Bank all you want, but it’s not going to happen. You may not even make it to Sunday because of your match tonight.” Punk is now the one to give a slight smile before speaking, “Oh are we up to that part now? The part where you give me an opponent tonight to teach me a lesson.” Triple H says it is and announces that Punk will face Alberto Del Rio later tonight. Before he leaves, he adds “oh and if you lose…you’re out of the Money in the Bank match.” The crowd boos as Triple H exits and leaves Punk in an unpleasant mood.
KOFI KINGSTON W/ ROB VAN DAM VS. JIMMY USO W/ JEY USO; Two weeks ago on Raw and Main Event, these two teams met in opposite singles matches. The singles match veterans, Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston swept that from the Usos to gain momentum. It looks like we are headed down the same path as Kingston starts hot. However, Jimmy is able to roll him up with a school boy and pick up the upset. Jimmy Uso defeats Kofi Kingston in 1:44!Jimmy Uso quickly rolls out of the ring to hug his brother, while Kofi Kingston is stunned at this outcome. Rob Van Dam gets in the ring just as Jey Uso grabs a microphone. He says that they owe both Kofi and RVD, so he challenges RVD to a one on one match right now. RVD seems surprised but accepts as we go to commercial. JEY USO W/ JIMMY USO VS. ROB VAN DAM W/ KOFI KINGSTON; At the bell, Rob Van Dam charges quickly, but Jey dodges and rolls him up for a close near fall. RVD looks around, wondering how they nearly got swept in such short order. He busts out some of his trademark kicks and strikes that back Jey into the corner. RVD delivers some shoulder thrusts before back flipping and charging in for a final one. However, Jey greets him with a huge superkick before climbing up top and scoring the shocking pinfall. Jey Uso defeats Rob Van Dam in 2:47!Everyone is pretty stunned as Jey Uso defeats a former WWE Champion in under three minutes. “The Usos, not known for their skills in singles matches, have just evened the score with two successful singles stars” says Michael Cole. The Usos stand across from Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston, who are clearly frustrated. The two teams begin jawing, which is the first sign of any issues between four guys that mostly respect each other. Their exchange leads to the teams coming to blows as the crowd gets to their feet. RVD and Kofi send the Usos out of the ring, losing the matches but winning the battle here. Their match this Sunday seems like it will now have an added bit of aggression to it.
Backstage, we see the Authority’s office but only the Director of Operations Kane and Bad News Barrett. A knock is heard as the United States Champion Dolph Ziggler enters. He seems tentative about being summoned to the Authority’s office. Kane is glad he came over because he has an announcement for him. “You see, when you won that coveted US Title, you did defeat Christian. However, Bad News Barrett here was also involved in that match and never got pinned so I feel that he deserves a title shot.” Dolph says that’s fine with him actually, and Kane declares that match will take place tomorrow on the WWE Network. Barrett looks at Dolph over Kane’s shoulder, “Tomorrow, I take your US Title and this Sunday, I take Money in the Bank from you and seven others.” Dolph chuckles, shrugs and goes to leave, but Kane stops him. “Oh, and you have a match next against one of the Money in the Bank participants. The man who stood over all the other participants last week, Cesaro.”
Returning, we cut to a shot of Lana and Alexander Rusev standing in Washington D.C. by the Capitol Building. Rusev stands by her, looking imposing, while Lana cuts the promo. She claims that it sickens them to be in the nation’s capital today. “We have been traveling through the United States since coming to the WWE, but this might be the worst of the worst. There is so much American propaganda that I nearly vomited at the sight of it all. This seems like the perfect place to Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter to live.” She continues to run down the Real Americans and this country before saying that she wises Money in the Bank was in Washington D.C. so the most patriotic city in the world could witness the destruction when Rusev crushes Jack Swagger. NON-TITLE MATCH: DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. CESARO; In a match made moments ago by Kane, two of the biggest threats in Money in the Bank do battle. Cesaro, considered a dark horse for a while, put everyone on notice last Monday during the Cutting Edge before taking Randy Orton to the limit on Smackdown. Dolph Ziggler, despite only finding out about the match a few minutes ago, has a strategy planned. He is sure to avoid Cesaro’s grasps, knowing the power of the “Swiss Superman”. He eventually does get caught and throws around the ring for a bit. Cesaro does the big swing for 27 second, earning a standing ovation from the fans. He charges at Dolph with an uppercut, but the United States Champion is able to duck and hook him into a backslide to win from out of nowhere. Dolph Ziggler defeats Cesaro in 8:15!The fans applaud the efforts of both men, in what was a competitive contest. Cesaro is stunned that he lost on such a move, while Dolph Ziggler can barely celebrate as he’s still feeling the effects of the Cesaro Swing. When he’s able to shake the cobwebs, he comes face to face with Cesaro, who extends a hand. They shake hands in a show of respect before they go to war again on Sunday.
In the back, we see Big E warming up for his tag team match later tonight. His partner for tonight, Roman Reigns comes up to him and they have a staredown. The tension breaks when Reigns smirks and slaps him on the shoulder, asking if he’s ready for tonight. Big E says that when it comes to Batista and the Authority, he’s always ready. Reigns admits it will be weird teaming with someone besides Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, but is looking forward to beating on Sheamus.
A vignette airs for the soon to debut Adam Rose. He is again on a party busy with a strange array of characters, before telling the camera that the party is coming to Raw and Smackdown very soon. CODY RHODES W/ GOLDUST VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; Cody Rhodes’ quest to get his career back on track with some singles work begins here. Tyson Kidd has been making some serious waves in NXT, proving that he will be a tough challenge. Goldust cheers on his brother loudly as he goes back and forth with the last graduate of the Hart Dungeon. Kidd actually even attempts the Sharpshooter at one point, only for Rhodes to kick him off into the corner. He follows in and nails a picture perfect moonsault before springboarding off the second rope with the Beautiful Disaster to win. Cody Rhodes defeats Tyson Kidd in 4:00!As one would expect, Goldust quickly enters the ring to hug and congratulate his brother. They celebrate in the middle of the ring as Tyson Kidd rolls outside to be consoled by Natalya. He doesn’t seem very happy with the loss and kind of pushes Natalya away. The big story here though is the victory by Cody Rhodes.
The theme song of Stephanie McMahon, one of the principle owners of the WWE plays as she makes her way down to the ring. When she gets inside, she gets booed just as hard as her husband did earlier tonight. She seems to enjoy them even more than he did though, before beginning to speak about the WWE Women’s Championship. “You all saw how disrespectful Paige was to me a few weeks ago and I obviously didn’t take that too kindly. However, I am not a spiteful person. People seem to think that I am because I’ve had Paige defend her title on numerous occasions but I’m not doing that out of spite. I’m doing it because it will not only make her a better champion but title matches are best for business. Speaking of title matches, that is why I’m out here right now. I am here to inform Paige of who her opponent will be this Sunday at Money in the Bank.” Before she can continue and make the official announcement, we are joined by the champion herself, Paige. The “Anti-Diva” enters the ring and grabs a microphone herself. She says that it doesn’t matter who Stephanie puts in front of her because she will beat them. “I’ve beaten them all. From tough girls like Tamina to a friend like Emma to athletic girls like Naomi to the girl I respect more than any other in that locker room, AJ Lee. I will beat whoever you throw in front of me. Even if it’s you.” Stephanie laughs, saying that she won’t be Paige’s opponent. “But, I am picking a Diva that you actually have never faced or beaten before. Someone who defines exactly what I want in a Divas. Someone who knows a thing or two about being the underdog and persevering from her husband. The Diva I’m talking about is Brie Bella!” The crowd gives a pop for this but commentary is a bit confused since we haven’t seen Brie since the Wyatt Family threatened to throw her from the stage. Paige is a bit confused too, but responds by saying that she will prove again that whatever “diva” is thrown in front of her will get knocked down. “I am here to change the way everyone looks at women’s wrestling. I’ve been doing that since I got here and nobody, not you or Brie Bella or any other Diva will stand in my way.” Paige throws down the microphone and leaves, while Stephanie looks on with a sly smirk.
Returning, we see Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella come up to Stephanie McMahon. Brie seems to have mixed feelings on what just happened. “Look, I truly appreciate the opportunity at the Women’s Title, I really do, but I’m not ready to get back into the ring this Sunday. I still haven’t mentally recovered from what the Wyatt Family did to me.” Stephanie replies, “I understand your concern, but like your husband, I have complete faith that you can overcome adversity. In fact, to make sure that you’re ready for Sunday, you’re going to have a match right now. Good luck.” She heads off, as Brie looks helplessly at Bryan. BRIE BELLA VS. TAMINA SNUKA; When Brie Bella finds out that her opponent is the strongest Diva on the roster, the look on her face tells the story. Tamina Snuka relishes in facing someone that says she isn’t ready for the ring, and spends a good chunk of the match throwing the wife of Daniel Bryan around. She goes up top for the splash but Brie is able to roll out of the way and nail her with a running knee strike. Brie goes to the middle rope, shouts “Brie Mode” and scores with a missile dropkick, ending this. Brie Bella defeats Tamina Snuka in 3:57!After the match, it’s clear that Brie Bella is still not in good shape mentally, but it’s also clear by the win that she is a threat to the WWE Women’s Championship in six days. The cameras cut to the back where we see Paige watching the match on a monitor.
BATISTA AND SHEAMUS W/ BAD NEWS BARRETT AND RANDY ORTON VS. BIG E AND ROMAN REIGNS W/ DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS; Two of the biggest matches set for this Sunday collide in this tag team match. Sheamus and Big renew their recent rivalry as they start things off, beating on each other with stiff blows. Roman Reigns gets the tag and works some surprising double teams with his new partner. However, Batista and Sheamus are able to cut the ring in half to turn the tide. Big E is finally able to make the hot tag to Reigns, who comes in strong. He connects on some of his big power moves before stepping outside for the apron dropkick. As he charges he is laid out with a Bull Hammer from Bad News Barrett, causing the disqualification. Big E and Roman Reigns defeat Batista and Sheamus via disqualification in 9:56!Due to Bad News Barrett’s interference, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins run around the ring and start to brawl with him and Randy Orton. Big E gets involved and we have a massive war that multiple officials have to come out to try and fix. Things stop for a moment as the pyro of Kane hits the Director of Operations steps onto the stage. He wants order and decides that the best move for business is to have Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose team up right now to face two of the men they’ll compete against at Money in the Bank, Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton. BAD NEWS BARRETT AND RANDY ORTON VS. DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS; After the commercial break, we return to this match as it’s already in progress. Michael Cole tells us that Kane made sure that the participants of the previous bout were all told to go back. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have more obvious chemistry than Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton, which shows very quickly. They hold serve in the early goings until some of Orton’s veteran savvy changes things. They work over Rollins for a while, but end up jawing a bit. The obvious friction of both men wanting to hold the Money in the Bank briefcase seems to be causing some issues. This allows the tag to Ambrose, who enters like a lunatic. His hot run leads to the Dirty Deeds on Barrett to win. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeat Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton in 14:28!After the bell, Dean Ambrose assists Seth Rollins in getting back to his feet. They both look up at the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above the ring, look at each other and then put their fists together in a sign of unison. “They may be opponents come Sunday, but the Shield remains strong as a unit” says Michael Cole.
Renee Young is standing by with Goldust, who asked for this interview time. She gives him the floor and he starts by again stating how proud of his brother he is. “Cody went out tonight, did the entire Rhodes family proud. Let’s not forget though…Cody wasn’t the only one struggling. We were losing as a unit. So I’ve talked to the Authority and I’ve been granted a one on one match tonight to try and right the ship for myself. Whoever my opponent is; I promise that he will never forget the name of…Goldust.”
Much like the promo from Lana and Alexander Rusev in Washington D.C. earlier tonight, we now get one from Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. They are standing in nearly the same place that Rusev and Lana stood. Surprisingly, it is Jack Swagger who speaks first. He talks about how he’s always been a proud patriot. “From my time at Oklahoma to my run as World Champion a few years ago. But, it wasn’t until I paired up with this man right here, that I felt like I was in the right place.” Zeb now takes over, saying that the reason they work so well together is because they’re both real Americans. “Rusev and Laura are anti-American. That means then Anti-Zeb and Anti-Jack, which makes them our enemy. This Sunday, Jack not only fights for this great city behind us, but he also fights for the city we’ll be in, Boston. He’ll fight for every city across the country and he’ll fight for these United States of America.” Zeb leads Jack and the fans in a loud “We the People” to close things. BO DALLAS VS. GOLDUST W/ CODY RHODES; Goldust’s attempt in single competition has to go through the newest WWE Superstar, Bo Dallas. Bo suffered his first defeat last Monday to Christian, before snapping and attacking him. This is Bo’s first match since then and once the bell rings, he seems to kind of snap again. Goldust weathers the storm, hitting some of his trademark offense. Bo is able to slip free, hitting the Bodog and pinning Goldust. Bo Dallas defeats Goldust in 2:54!With the match over, Bo Dallas goes back to his happy go lucky self. He exits the ring and does his victory lap with a wide smile on his face. Cody Rhodes enters the ring to look after his brother who is clearly disappointed in his effort. Bo’s celebration is cut short by the theme of Christian. “Captain Charisma” walks out onto the stage with a microphone. He admits that he is pissed at Bo for what he did on Raw and Smackdown last week. “I’d like nothing more than to go down there and shut you up once and for all. But, I have another idea. You see, there’s a big show coming up this Sunday and neither one of us is going anything on that night so I say we fight. You and I, one more match.” Bo smiles in Christian’s direction and gives him a big thumbs up, solidifying the match.
ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. CM PUNK; As we found out earlier, if CM Punk loses this match, he is out of the Money in the Bank match this Sunday. These two had a series of battles in 2012, with both guys winning the WWE Championship from each other. Alberto Del Rio goes right after the arm, but Punk is wise to his tricks and fires back with some strikes. Del Rio manages to apply the Cross Armbreaker, but Punk clasps his hands together to prevent it. Del Rio releases it and tries an enziguri, but Punk ducks and hoists him up for the Go to Sleep. Del Rio slips out and rolls him up for two. They get up at the same time, with Punk connecting on a big kick to the side of the skull. He follows it up with the GTS and gets the 1-2-3. CM Punk defeats Alberto Del Rio in 11:29!CM Punk stands up as the crowd goes nuts, securing his spot in the upcoming Money in the Bank match, where he will look to become a three time winner. He steps outside of the ring, going to the commentary table and telling the booth, “that was for Triple H.” He leaves up the ramp as the fans continue to cheer.
“D.C…we’re here.” The Wyatt Family make their way out to ring, surrounded by a sea of cellphone lights. The lights in the arena stay dim when they get in the ring and Bray Wyatt takes a seat in the rocking chair. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan menacingly stand guard at his side while he speaks. He first is sure to bring up Brie Bella again, apologizing for what he did a few weeks ago. “I apologize because it’s not something we wanted to do. It’s something WE HAD TO DO! You all witnessed what I did to your false hero John Cena. If you all can reach to the back of your minds, you’ll remember what I did to Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble for falsely joining my family. I still have not forgiven you for that Daniel. What we have here is special, what we have here is a family and you don’t turn your back on that. I took the whole Cenation in my hands. They are believers, they follow the buzzards the way you never did Daniel. The only thing left for me to take is the WWE World Heavyweight Title. With that, I will truly have the whole world in my hands.” If Bray had more to say, we don’t get to hear it as the theme of our WWE World Heavyweight Champion plays and Daniel Bryan arrives on the stage. He has a microphone and tells Bray that he and Brie obviously do not accept their apology. “What you did to my wife is unforgivable. I made sure that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan got what was coming to them over the past few weeks and I’m going to do the same to you in six nights. I declined joining your family at the start of the year and that will never change. No matter how many Superstars you defeat or how many followers you convert. Not only will you never have me, but you’ll never have these titles.” The crowd cheers this as Bray just laughs in his direction. “You really believe that you can somehow stop me? I knew you were foolish Daniel but not this clueless. This is happening and I will carry those two titles and bring them to Sister Abigail’s feet. Once I do that, maybe Brie will want to follow the buzzards too.” The crowd reacts to that jab and so does Bryan as he charges the ring. This is a clear mistake as Harper and Rowan pounce on him quickly. He fights valiantly but the Wyatt Family outmuscle and outnumber him greatly. After they beat on him for a short while, Bray commands them to hold Bryan in place. He kisses his forehead and plants him with Sister Abigail. Bray caresses Daniel while he’s laid out on his lap. Harper and Rowan grab the titles from outside and lay them on Bray’s shoulders while he does this.

WWE Main Event: June 24th, 2014 – Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
After the weekly opening video, we cut straight to the loud crowd in Pittsburgh tonight as Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips introduce tonight’s show. They remind us of the big United States Title match between Dolph Ziggler and Bad News Barrett tonight before sending it to Renee Young in the ring.
Renee Young introduces her guest for this interview, Brie Bella. As she walks down to the ring, we are reminded that Stephanie McMahon handpicked Brie to be Paige’s challenger for the Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank this Sunday. This is a win/win situation for Stephanie as either Paige loses the title or Brie, a thorn in her side, suffers a huge defeat. Renee thanks Brie for showing up and gets right into the tough questions, asking about her state of mind after what the Wyatt Family did to her. She responds by saying that she still isn’t back to 100%. “Physically, I feel fine. But when you’re staring fifteen feet to the concrete and a gross, sweaty man in holding your safety in his hands, it does something to your psyche. But, Stephanie McMahon forgets just how strong I am. I can overcome this and win the Women’s Title. But, I do agree with Stephanie on one thing. I want the Divas Championship back. It’s the title I won and it’s special to me.” Brie is cut off by the arrival of Paige, with the Women’s Title clasped around her shoulder. She enters the ring, saying that she appreciates that Brie has been through something horrible, but no matter how strong she is, she isn’t taking the Women’s Title. “I said that I was here to change things and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing and what I will continue to do.” Renee Young now interrupts, saying that she just got word in her ear that Stephanie McMahon has made a decision. “Tonight, you two will be partners and the match starts now.” Paige and Brie look at each other as we cut to commercial before the bell. BRIE BELLA AND PAIGE VS. THE FUNKADACTYLS; While there are obvious differences between Paige and number one contender for her title, Brie, the Funkadactyls haven’t been working as the most well-oiled machine as of late. Cameron’s attitude has caused a slight rift between her and Naomi. Paige and Brie show problems first, miscommunicating and arguing. However, Cameron’s big ego causes issues on her end as she gets too cocky after hitting a backbreaker. Naomi shouts for her to pounce, but she’s too busy posing. This opening allows Brie to get up and hit the Bella Buster for the 1-2-3. Brie Bella and Paige defeat the Funkadactyls in 5:57!Brie Bella gets to her feet as Paige enters the ring beside her. Paige is handed her Women’s Title, while Brie stares her down. Paige raises the title high in the air as Brie looks up at it, hoping to capture it in five days. “At Money in the Bank, these two Divas, or should I say women, will do battle for that belt” says Byron Saxton.
In the back, Damien Sandow and Titus O’Neil cut a promo about what happened two weeks ago. They officially joined together and defeated R-Truth and Xavier Woods. Damien says that there are not many intellectuals in the WWE. “I have obviously shown all of your ignoramuses my level of intelligence, but what you may be unaware of, is just how brilliant this man next to me is. Not only is he a genius, but he is also one of the strongest men in all of the WWE. Together, we are the Age of Enlightenment and R-Truth will find out what we’re all around once again tonight.”
An advertisement is shown to promote the WWE Shop, set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. We see various Superstars, Divas and fan in authentic WWE gear. Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton direct us to a recap of what went down last night between Daniel Bryan and the Wyatt Family. We see the promo that Bray Wyatt cut before Bryan interrupted. He cannot forgive the Wyatt Family for what they did to Brie Bella and vowed revenge at Money in the Bank. Bray made one too many jabs at Bryan about Brie, leading to Bryan charging the ring. Unfortunately, the numbers game proved to be too much and he was left lying by the Wyatts. CHRISTIAN VS. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA; For anyone who missed it last night, Christian issued a challenge to Bo Dallas for Money in the Bank. It has been officially announced that the match will take place on the Kickoff show this Sunday. Here, Fandango, who has been on a bit of a losing streak lately, looks to thwart Christian just days prior to that match. Unfortunately for him, Christian strikes with the Killswitch to score the victory. Christian defeats Fandango in 2:34!Christian gets announced as the winner as the fans give him a nice hand. He looks to be ready for Bo Dallas and Money in the Bank, picking up another victory here. Layla looks on concerned for Fandango.
A video airs to highlight the WWE’s involvement in the Special Olympics. Some special Olympians are also in the front row tonight. R-TRUTH W/ XAVIER WOODS VS. TITUS O’NEIL W/ DAMIEN SANDOW; The Age of Enlightenment reminded everyone earlier of their formation during a match against R-Truth and Xavier Woods. Truth looks to gain a measure of revenge here, coming out aggressive against his larger opponent. Titus O’Neil is able connect on a big fallaway slam that changes everything. From there on, he just pummels Truth with a barrage of hard hitting offense that seems to please Damien Sandow. The Clash of the Titus connects and leads O’Neil to the win. Titus O’Neil defeats R-Truth in 3:11!Damien Sandow claps for Titus O’Neil as he enters the ring. He raises his partner’s hand before turning his attention to Xavier Woods, much like he did two weeks ago. He hands Woods a card before turning his attention back to Titus. Xavier looks over the card before staring up at the Age of Enlightenment.
The below graphic appears as Tom Phillips tells us that after the events of the tag team match last night, Roman Reigns wanted his hands on Bad News Barrett. Instead however, he will get the “Viper”. Roman Reigns goes one on one with Randy Orton this Friday night on Smackdown! WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. BAD NEWS BARRETT; During the early stages of this bout, the Director of Operations, Kane comes down to ringside for a closer look. He seems a bit worried as Dolph Ziggler gains an advantage over Bad News Barrett on the mat. Barrett changes the pace, slowing it down and using his size to take control. That size gets him extra leverage on some pins, but it isn’t enough. He connects on the Wasteland but again, Ziggler gets his shoulder up. Barrett clearly shows off the frustration on his face. He sets his elbow pad up for the Bull Hammer, but Dolph ducks and strikes with the Zig Zag. He covers, but Kane gets on the apron and distracts the official. Ziggler is pissed, as he gets to his feet and argues with Kane. He knocks him off the apron with a loud superkick. Unfortunately for him, he turns back around into the Bull Hammer, leading to the title change. Bad News Barrett defeats Dolph Ziggler to win the WWE United States Championship in 10:19!The WWE Universe in Pittsburgh boos loudly as Bad News Barrett is declared the winner. Kane gets up, holding his jaw, and snatches the United States Title from ringside. He enters the ring and hands it over to Barrett, as the fans continue to boo. Barrett hoists the belt high in the air, as commentary puts over how his association with the Authority has benefited him greatly tonight.

WWE NXT: June 26th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
To open the broadcast, we see the weekly NXT intro video. Cutting straight to the ring, Tom Phillips, Jason Albert and Renee Young are excited for our opening contest. JASON JORDAN AND TYE DILLINGER VS. THE VAUDEVILLAINS; Last week on NXT, we witnessed the in ring debut of the Vaudevillains. Aiden English and Simon Gotch work very well together, showcasing a natural chemistry. Their entrance has already become something that the NXT Universe looks forward to. Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger get in some offense, but unfortunately, the Vaudevillains prove to be too much for them. English nails a swanton bomb to pick up the victory. The Vaudevillains defeat Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger in 3:31!The fantastic theme music of the Vaudevillains hits as the fans give them a mixed reaction. Some fans love their characters while some find them to be the villains they claim to be. Either way, they are now 2-0, proving that last week’s win was no fluke.
We are taken to a recap of Sami Zayn’s return last week, where he announced that his new goal was going to be the NXT Tag Team Titles. As he said that’s where he’ll be setting his sights, he was attacked by the NXT Tag Team Champions, the Ascension. Commentary informs the viewers that Sami Zayn will be back next week to address the Ascension and the NXT Universe.
An ad airs for Money in the Bank, which is coming up this Sunday. Bray Wyatt takes a crack at having the WWE World Heavyweight Title in his hands, while eight of the top Superstars in the WWE compete for the Money in the Bank briefcase. SAWYER FULTON VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; Sawyer Fulton is a fair amount larger than Tyson Kidd, but is unproven. Kidd meanwhile, is on the cusp of an eventual NXT Championship match if he continues to succeed. Fulton overpowers Kidd, tossing him around for the beginning portions of the match. Kidd dropkicks the knee, putting himself in the driver’s seat for good. He slaps on the Sharpshooter and Fulton taps out. Tyson Kidd defeats Sawyer Fulton in 2:26!The referee raises Tyson Kidd’s hand as Natalya enters the ring. She hugs Tyson, who barely reciprocates it as he focuses on grabbing a microphone. He says that since TakeOver last month, nobody in NXT has outperformed him. “It doesn’t matter if it’s someone smaller than me, someone my size or someone like Sawyer Fulton. They all tap out eventually. Adrian Neville, whether or not JBL, my wife or these fans believe in me, my cats and I know that I’m going to be the next NXT Champion.” Natalya gives him a confused look at what he just said, but he ignores her.
A short commercial is shown to promote the new Batista DVD. See highlights of his life away from the WWE and his return to the ring earlier this year. TYLER BREEZE VS. XAVIER WOODS; Much like Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze has also staked his claim for a shot at the NXT Title. Xavier Woods, however, is a veteran in the business. He shows off how tough he is right from the bell, nailing a big clothesline. Breeze comes back, but at the same time, seems disgusted by Woods’ untamed mane. He tries his best to avoid touching it, which allows Xavier to get in some more offense. He picks up a near fall with the Honor Roll, but Breeze is back up with the Supermodel Kick. He follows that with the Beauty Shot to pick up the 1-2-3. Tyler Breeze defeats Xavier Woods in 4:11!There is a look of disgust on the face of Tyler Breeze as he looks down on Xavier Woods’ fallen body. He won’t even allow the referee to touch his arm, instead choosing to grab his cellphone and take a selfie with Woods laid out in the background.
An advertisement is shown to promote the WWE Shop. We see various Superstars, Divas and fans sporting authentic WWE gear set to the tune of “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. KALISTO VS. SOLOMON CROWE; While Solomon Crowe makes his way to the ring, our commentary team reminds us of his debut and attack on Adam Rose, followed by him hacking into the arena and costing Rose a match last week. Tonight, we see his first official match, coming against one of the hottest stars in NXT, Kalisto. Wisely, Crowe goes after the leg. This prevents some of Kalisto’s fast paced, high powered offense, while also setting up for the stretch muffler. Kalisto manages to slip free of his first attempt at it, before trying to springboard, only to crash and burn hard. Crowe looks down at him holding his knee in pain, smiling slightly before applying the stretch muffler. Kalisto struggles but submits. Solomon Crowe defeats Kalisto in 6:37!Solomon Crowe is not allowed to celebrate his victory as the music of our esteemed General Manager John “Bradshaw” Layfield plays. He steps out onto the stage with a microphone. He addresses Solomon Crowe, stating that he isn’t a fan of his tactics. “Your skills as a hacker are impressive but you cannot use those to target any of my Superstars. Now, for some reason you seem to have your sights set on Adam Rose. Normally, I’d punish you for what you did with a suspension or a fine but instead I’m going to let Adam Rose teach you a lesson. Next week you will go one on one with him the middle of that ring!” The fans cheer loudly as a big match has been made official for next week.
Returning, a short video package is shown to hype tonight’s main event. It shows clips of Charlotte’s upbringing, being the daughter of arguably the greatest Superstar in the history of pro wrestling. After showing her turn on Bayley last year to join the BFFs, we see her win the Women’s Title at TakeOver last month. The video shifts its focus to Bayley and how she grew up as a major fan of the business. She talks about how winning a title in the WWE has always been her dream and she plans to make that a reality tonight.
Devin Taylor is standing by with the NXT Champion, Adrian Neville. She asks him about the multiple top contenders to his title. He responds in the similar fashion that he has in recent weeks. He admits that having a bunch of challengers can be tough, but it also keeps him on his toes. “Now, I have a match next week, but it’s not for the title. I’m going to have a talk with JBL and figure out who exactly will be my next challenger. Whether it’s Corey Graves, Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze or anyone else…I’ll be ready.” NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – CHARLOTTE (C) W/ THE BFFS VS. BAYLEY; While she has spent time with the likes of Alexa Bliss and Emma watching her back, Bayley is alone tonight. Sasha Banks and Summer Rae second Charlotte here. After an early exchange, Summer trips up Bayley, causing Charlotte to surprisingly yell at her to go to the back. They get into a bit of an argument, but she eventually leaves. Bayley and the fans seem surprised by this, but it leads to a better match. Bayley has the crowd in her corner, busting out a top rope hurricanrana yet it’s only enough to earn a near fall. She tightens her headband before charging at Charlotte, but is caught with a big spear. She gets the shoulder up though, now giving us moments where both girls are frustrated by their inability to put the other away. Bayley hits the Belly-to-Bayley but Charlotte gets her foot on the bottom rope. She is nearly in tears as she sets Charlotte up top, prepping for a top rope finisher but Charlotte knocks her down. She then connects on Natural Selection from the top as the referee counts the three. Charlotte defeats Bayley in 8:20 to retain the NXT Women’s Championship!Charlotte raises only to her knees, exhausted as the official hands her the NXT Women’s Title. Sasha Banks looks on from outside of the ring but doesn’t enter to congratulate her fellow BFF. Bayley gets to her feet, tears in her eyes after failing despite the valiant effort. Charlotte extenders her hand to Bayley, who responds with a big hug as the fans give them a standing ovation as the show comes to a close.

Friday Night Smackdown: June 27th, 2014 – Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
A video package kicks off tonight’s episode, showcasing each of the eight participants competing in the Money in the Bank match in two nights. The song playing in the background is “Champion” by Theo Chinara and Craig Hardy. We see each guy get highlighted before cutting to the arena. Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduce the show and quickly remind everyone that Bad News Barrett won the United States Title from Dolph Ziggler three nights ago on Main Event. “Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield.” The fans in Pittsburgh go berserk as the Shield enters through the stands and comes down to the ring. We already know that the top contender for the Intercontinental Title, Roman Reigns, will do battle with Randy Orton in our main event tonight. The three men enter the ring and Dean Ambrose speaks first, saying that this Sunday, they go into a situation they’ve never faced before. “If you remember, I was in Money in the Bank last year, but Seth here wasn’t. Seth and I are no strangers to ladder matches, but for the first time since the Royal Rumble, we’re opponents. While we know that we want the briefcase with the Shield, we do remember what happened at the Royal Rumble.” Dean directs us to the titantron, where we see the issues the Shield had during the Royal Rumble earlier this year, leading to an argument and Reigns eliminating his brothers. When the feed ends, Seth takes over, saying they’re having none of that this time around. “We know that we have to go in there and we’ll fight if we must, but don’t expect to see any cracks in the Shield. After beating Evolution, we are stronger than ever.” Before he can continue much longer, Kane interrupts and comes out to the stage. “I’m sorry to interrupt this little lovefest going on, but I’m here to inform you that you’ll all be in action tonight. Obviously we know that Roman Reigns is taking on Randy Orton, but you two will be in tag team action against two of your opponents at Money in the Bank and that will be next.” Ambrose and Rollins look at each other but seem more than ready for the challenge. The music of CM Punk hits as he arrives to a thunderous ovation, but stares down Kane the entire way down the ramp. As he reaches the bottom, we find out his partner, as sirens are heard and Cesaro shows up. We’re about to have one hell of a tag team opener! CESARO AND CM PUNK VS. DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS W/ ROMAN REIGNS; While these incredibly talented four individuals do battle, we are taken backstage where the Authority is shown watching on a monitor. One has to assume that Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett are happy to see their opponents this Sunday in such a tough battle now. There is obvious chemistry between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, allowing them to take control throughout. CM Punk and Cesaro are a resilient pair though, clawing their way back to make this a real struggle. Cesaro is surprisingly the guy to get the hot tag, coming in with some great showings of strength. That gets thwarted by a Pele kick from Rollins. Unfortunately, this is all cut short by the arrival of the Authority, as they enter the ring and attack. The match ends in a double disqualification in 10:20!Sheamus runs in from the crowd and whacks Roman Reigns in the back with a steel chair, evening it up as he, Bad News Barrett, Batista and Randy Orton pound away on the four Superstars who competed in the match. Despite the even odds, the fact that these men just had a grueling match gives the Authority the upper hand. That is, until the theme of Big E hits. He charges the ring, going straight for Batista. This results in the competitors from the match and Big E being able to cause the Authority to retreat. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins check on Roman Reigns, who is still feeling the effects of the chair shot.
Before our next match, a graphic appears to tell us that Season One of Total Divas is now available on the WWE Network! EVA MARIE VS. NIKKI BELLA; To promote the arrival of the first season of Total Divas on the WWE Network, two of the stars do battle here. Normally, Brie Bella would be at Nikki’s side, but she was on commentary here. She claimed that she’s ready for her match Sunday, despite what has happened to her lately. However, she doesn’t get to talk much as Nikki is able to polish off the inexperienced Diva with the Rack Attack quickly. Nikki Bella defeats Eva Marie in 1:26!The referee raises Nikki Bella’s hand as Brie enters the ring and applauds her. They hug as Eva Marie lays on the ground beside them. While Brie is ready for her title shot in two nights, it certainly looks like Nikki is ready for a potential future title shot.
In the back, we see Big E preparing for a match tonight when the Director of Operations shows up. Big E readies for a fight but Kane says he’s only here to inform him of something. He tells him that his match is next and it’s against a Money in the Bank participant in Alberto Del Rio! ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. BIG E; Both of these men are set for big matches in two nights, but are put to the test against one another. If you recall, shortly before Payback last month, these two met with Big E pulling out the win. Alberto Del Rio is wise enough to avoid the things that cost him that match, focusing on the arm of Big E. He maliciously goes after the arm, but Big E tries using his power to combat this. Unfortunately, without the use of his arm, that becomes a tougher task as the match goes on. Del Rio ends up on the apron, and Big E takes him out with a big spear through the ropes. With both men on the floor, Batista strolls down to ringside calmly. Both guys get up around the count of six, but Big E spots Batista and goes after him. Del Rio rolls in just before the official counts to ten. Alberto Del Rio defeats Big E via countout in 6:26!Big E hears the bell ring, turning towards the ring and realizing what just happened. Batista, up by the entrance now, laughs in his direction. Alberto Del Rio notices what happened and he raises his arms in victory. The fans boo while Big E looks on furiously after Batista exits.
Backstage, Byron Saxton is standing by with Cody Rhodes. He asks him about his singles victory this past Monday on Raw. Cody replies by saying that he knew that something like that would help him turn things around. He is looking forward to another singles match after Money in the Bank. Goldust enters the picture and admits that he is proud of Cody, but disappointed in his own performance. Cody tells him not to worry, but Goldust cuts him off, saying that he will make sure to make an impact tonight. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM VS. RYBAXEL; With a WWE Tag Team Title shot in two nights, Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston do their best to not overlook the tough team of Rybaxel. Curtis Axel uses his mat wrestling ability to wear down Kingston, before Ryback enters and does some damage with his power. Kingston continually gets cut off from making the tag, until he finally is able to do so. Van Dam comes in with a top rope kick, before hitting an enziguri. They knock Ryback off the apron before debuting their double team finisher. RVD hits Rolling Thunder just as Kofi strikes with the Boom Drop. That’s enough for the win. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam defeat Rybaxel in 5:31!Cheers are heard from the crowd as Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston pull out another win. Their new finishing move is going to prove to be incredibly tough for the Usos to combat, especially after they got into it this past Monday night. This might be the biggest test to the Tag Team Champions since they won the belts.
Renee Young is now standing by with Christian. She asks for his thoughts on his upcoming match this Sunday against Bo Dallas on the Money in the Bank Kickoff show. Christian claims that he’s already beaten Bo Dallas before, so that’s not a major concern of his. “What does concern me a bit is that mean streak that he showed after I beat him.” Christian admits that even with that, he will shut Bo up, once and for all on Sunday.
Returning to the ring, Lana and Alexander Rusev are standing in the middle of it. Lana cuts a short promo on Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. She says that their fight for the United States is futile because Mother Russia is the most powerful country in the world. “Tonight however, is not about either country. Tonight is about the Super Athlete Rusev, proving once again that he is the most dominant Superstar in the history of the WWE.” She issues the Open Invitational Challenge, which is answered by Goldust. ALEXANDER RUSEV OPEN INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. GOLDUST; Surprisingly, Goldust is here without Cody Rhodes. His brother does stroll out to the entrance about a minute into this match, but it doesn’t last much longer than that. Goldust starts hot but eventually falls victim to the Accolade like so many others before him. Alexander Rusev defeats Goldust in 2:46!Cody Rhodes charges the ring when Alexander Rusev refuses to break the hold, but once Lana gives the signal he does. Cody doesn’t attack, opting to check on his brother instead. The Bulgarian Brute looks down on them as Lana raises his hand. He looks more than ready for Jack Swagger in two nights.
A recap airs to promote the Daniel Bryan/Bray Wyatt match for this Sunday. We see it go all the way back to Bray threatening Brie Bella and Bryan’s retaliation on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. The last clips shown are from Monday night, when Bray took out Bryan and sat down with his head in his lap as Harper and Rowan laid the belts on his shoulders. They meet for the first time since the Royal Rumble in two nights. RANDY ORTON VS. ROMAN REIGNS; Despite what happened earlier tonight, neither guy brings any backup with him. That makes for one interesting battle as the two stars slug it out. Roman Reigns’ hot start gets cut short by Randy Orton moving to some wear down holds. After a commercial break, Reigns rallies out of a sleeper and hits the apron dropkick. He enters the ring, punching the mat to set up for the Superman Punch. He nails it and backs into the corner for the spear. As he charges in for it, Orton just blatantly kicks him in the groin, causing the official to call for the bell. Roman Reigns defeats Randy Orton via disqualification in 8:54!Randy Orton follows the low blow by stepping back and stalking Roman Reigns for the punt. However, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins run in from the stands to make the save. Obviously, this brings out Sheamus, Bad News Barrett and Batista. Again, this causes Dolph Ziggler, Big E and the Money in the Bank participants to run in. The show ends with a major brawl that brings the Money in the Bank match, Big E’s feud with Batista and the Intercontinental Title rivalry together.

6/28/14 Edition
- The WWE has discussed potentially breaking up the Shield sometime down the line. They realize that their face turn at the start of the year has given them new life and they are more popular than ever, so there's no need to make the move now. However, the WWE sees extremely high ceilings for all three members and would like to see what they do on their own. They're already trying it by giving Roman Reigns some singles matches on Pay-Per-View.
- There is talk of having the WWE Intercontinental Title headline a Pay-Per-View sometime this year. There is a ton of effort being put into making the mid card, tag team and women's titles very important. This is why you're seeing the Authority involved with the Women's, United States and Intercontinental Title pictures. More focus is set to be put on the Tag Team Titles heading into SummerSlam.
- Batista is set to take some time off to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. He will still be featured in major angles as he won't be written off. The plan is for the Authority to just admit that Batista is off being a huge star. Batista also recently landed a role as the newest villain in the next James Bond film. Casting is still going on for other roles and filming isn't expected to start until late this year or early next year, when Batista would have to take some legit time off.
- Shortly after the untimely passing of the Ultimate Warrior, the WWE Network aired a documentary of Superstars discussing him. Sting was included in that video but we haven't had any other word about him. We can officially tell you today that he has indeed signed a deal with the WWE. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether that includes actually appearing on television or wrestling a match. So far, it only includes appearing on the WWE Network and merchandise.

WWE Money in the Bank: June 29th, 2014 - TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts
The Kickoff Show begins with shots of the fans in Boson filing into the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. We cut to our esteemed Kickoff Show Panel of Renee Young, Booker T, the “Analyst” Alex Riley and Cody Rhodes. They run down tonight’s card, with Cody giving expert insights into multiple matches due to his history with some of the competitors. Cody is also asked about his brother’s state of mind after being crushed by Alexander Rusev on Smackdown. Cody responds, “My brother is at home resting, but you all have seen him throughout his 20 year career. You know he’s a fighter that won’t give up. He’s got my back as I continue to pursue some success on my own and he’s going to try for some of his own when he’s back at 100%.” Following that statement and some video packages to promote the main broadcast, Renee Young sends it over to commentary for our Kickoff match. BO DALLAS VS. CHRISTIAN; Since losing the United States Champion a few weeks ago, Christian has been a changed man. A big reason for that is his quest to shut up the eternally chipper Bo Dallas. “Bo Dallas was undefeated until he ran into Christian a few weeks ago on Raw” explains John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Bo Dallas came out aggressively after that loss, but here starts tentatively to avoid any mistakes against the veteran. Christian outsmarts him and is able to score with an early second rope sunset flip for two. He tries his signature corner kick but Bo is prepared and blocks it before shoving Christian to the outside. “It looks like the mean streak of Bo Dallas is coming out” says Jerry Lawler. Bo follows outside, wailing away on Christian before whipping him into the guardrail. They go back inside where Bo hits the Bodog for a near fall. The frustration is evident in his face, as he stares on in disbelief that it wasn’t enough to put down “Captain Charisma”. Bo sets for the Bo and Arrow, but Christian is able to slip out and cover Bo for a close two count. They get up at the same time, with Christian hitting a spear! He clutches his ribs instead of covering though. When he finally does try, Bo is able to roll over into the Bo and Arrow! Christian eventually has no choice but to ultimately submit. Bo Dallas defeats Christian in 6:12!The ultimate Boliever, Bo Dallas himself, leaps to his feet in victory. He rolls out of the ring and does a victory lap, enjoying his first ever win on a Pay-Per-View event. He continually shouts” I did it!” while Christian sits up in disappointment. Bo grabs a microphone and tells Christian that he would suggest he Bolieve, but he knows he won’t. “I’ve never given up on someone before, but I can’t continue on with you Christian. You have shown that you will never Bolieve and I just showed you how much of a shame that is.”
Our actual Pay-Per-View broadcast officially begins with a video package that focuses on the Money in the Bank match and the participants involved. We see clips of each of the eight participants getting the upper hand on his opponents for tonight. The song “Money” plays throughout this, but the video takes a darker turn after their highlights are done. The music changes to the song “Champion” by Theo Chinara and Craig Hardy as we focus on Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt. The video goes back to their rivalry at the end of 2013, all the way up to this past Monday. These two warriors lock horns for the richest prize in the game tonight. Cutting to the arena, pyro goes off as the raucous crowd in Boston is lively. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome everyone to the show and send it to the ring for the opening contest. WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – SHEAMUS (C) VS. ROMAN REIGNS; The crowd is absolutely loud for this contest as it features two of the toughest guys in the company. Before the bell rings, they come face to face in the center of the ring. You can feel the tension in the air as the guys trade trash talk that can’t be heard on camera. Once it officially starts, they go right into it, trading right hands in the center of the ring. “This is going to be a straight up slugfest!” exclaims JBL. Reigns backs the champion into the corner with shots, but the referee calls for a break. They do, but Sheamus gets in a cheap kick to the gut. He now jumps in the driver’s seat, wearing down Roman Reigns with some submissions, targeting the shoulder to take away the Spear. Reigns slips out of one and clotheslines him. Sheamus goes to use the apron dropkick but Sheamus moves and he crashes on the apron. “Never before have I seen that move dodged” says Michael Cole. Sheamus removes the turnbuckle pad before dragging Roman back in. He goes to whip him into it, but Reigns stops himself with his foot. He turns and lays out Sheamus with a huge Superman punch that gets the crowd to their feet. They can feel a title change in the air. Reigns sets up for the Spear but Sheamus is able to avoid it and send him shoulder first into the ring post. Sheamus doesn’t let up, choosing to whip Reigns into the exposed buckle, this time completing it. As Reigns falls out, Sheamus covers but can only get two. He is in shock at Reigns’ resilience. Sheamus goes for a third whip to the corner, but Reigns counters by pulling him into a big belly to belly suplex. Reigns is back up, firing off some very hard right hands in the corner, as Sheamus can’t handle the flurry. Reigns back out for the Spear but from out of nowhere, Sheamus nearly rips his head off with a vicious Brogue Kick! He covers and secures the win. Sheamus defeats Roman Reigns in 13:51 to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship! The TD Garden boos loudly as Sheamus has defeated the powerhouse of the Shield. The referee hands Sheamus the Intercontinental Title and he hoists it high in the air. Since his change of attitude, he’s been unstoppable, beating Big E for the title and retaining it successfully ever since. Roman Reigns holds his head on the floor as that was one sick Brogue Kick. The Authority’s night is off to a great start here.
Following the opener, a video airs similar to the one we see yearly for the Royal Rumble. It’s “Money in the Bank by the numbers”, telling us the number of participants in history, the percentage of successful cash-ins and things like that. WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP – THE USOS (C) VS. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM; Early on, this was a friendly rivalry, but recently on Raw, these two teams came to blows. That seems to be slightly forgotten as this match starts out with some chain wrestling between Jimmy Uso and Rob Van Dam. There are no punches or anything violent being thrown. Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso also go back and forth for a bit, showing that neither team has a clear advantage yet. “This has been a very even match so far John” says Michael Cole. That changes a bit when the Usos use their strong tag team chemistry to cut the ring in half on Kingston. They work quick tags and look very impressive. Kingston seems to be in serious trouble until he busts out the SOS on Jey for a near fall. Kingston slowly crawls to his corner and tags in RVD. The former ECW and WWE Champion comes in hot, hitting everything that moves. He takes out Jey with a top rope kick before nailing Jimmy with some corner shoulder thrusts. With Kofi on the apron near a downed Jey, RVD points at him. “Hey, I think they’re going for the Rolling Boom that we saw on Smackdown” shouts Jerry Lawler. They indeed try it and nail it, but Jimmy breaks up the pin to save the belts. Kofi goes for Trouble in Paradise but Jimmy ducks and knocks him outside with a superkick. RVD climbs to top for a Five Star Frog Splash but Jey avoids it as RVD crashes and burns. Jey tags in Jimmy officially, who comes off the top with a top rope splash onto the already hurting RVD for the 1-2-3. The Usos defeat Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam in 10:16 to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship!Jimmy Uso stumbles to his feet, when Jey jumps in the ring and hugs him. They have once again successfully defended their Tag Team Titles, continuing to live the dream they had since they were children. Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston get to their feet and stand across from the Usos. Tensions still seem a tad high, but hands are extended and the four men shake out of respect for their competitive title match.
We go backstage where Byron Saxton is standing by with the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige. He thanks her for the time and asks how she feels about defending her title tonight against Brie Bella. Paige mentions that she’s already defended the gold a bunch of times since winning it, but she’s already for the next challenge. “I’ve told Stephanie McMahon before, but she can throw any challenge at me and I will win. It doesn’t matter what Diva she sends my way, they can’t beat an ‘Anti-Diva’. They can’t beat a Women’s Champion. I’ll prove that again tonight.” BATISTA VS. BIG E; Since losing the Intercontinental Championship to Sheamus, Big E has been on a mission to right the ship. His new mission is to go after the Authority, but he’s run into a brick wall with Batista so far. Here, we have two of the strongest and toughest guys on the roster and they come out firing away. “These two brutes are just hammering away on each other” exclaims Michael Cole. With neither man gaining control from their stiff shots, it’s a rake to the eyes from Batista that turns things in his favor. He wears down Big E in the middle of the ring before sending him off the ropes for a spinebuster. He sets too early though and Big E wallops him with the E Train. Instead of using this opportunity to wear down Batista, he goes right into a slew of power moves. Some knee lifts, a splash and a picture perfect overhead belly to belly suplex. Big E takes down his straps and hoists up Batista for the Big Ending. The “Animal” is able to slip free, turn Big E around and plant him with a spinebuster. He covers but can only get a near fall. Batista looks to be pretty upset but focuses on attempting the Batista Bomb. Big E trips him up though and rolls him up for a close near fall. They get up at the same time and charge each other, colliding in the center of the ring. “Good lord that was like to trains crashing into each other” exclaims JBL. The referee counts and reaches eight before both men are up. Big E charges again but Batista ducks, kicks him in the gut and delivers the Batista Bomb for the win. Batista defeats Big E in 8:21!The crowd boos for the win by Batista, as the “Animal” is able to overcome the former Intercontinental Champion. Michael Cole puts over the valiant effort by Big E, but does mention that since meeting Sheamus at Extreme Rules, he’s been unable to succeed on the big stages. Batista exits to boos with his arms raised high in air, picking up his first Pay-Per-View victory since defeating Alberto Del Rio at Elimination Chamber in February.
Before our next match we are directed to the Kickoff Panel, which again consists of Renee Young, Alex Riley, Booker T and Cody Rhodes. They run down what we’ve seen so far, with special note going to how well the Authority has managed to do for themselves so far, going 2-0. “That is especially crucial considering there are two Authority members, Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett, competing in the actual Money in the Bank match later tonight” says Renee Young.
WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. BRIE BELLA W/ NIKKI BELLA; Over the past few weeks, Paige has been the definition of a fighting champion, taking on all challengers. Brie Bella has the support of her sister in her corner, but early on, it doesn’t seem to make a difference as Paige hits all of the offense. “Maybe Brie’s head is still not 100% in the game after what the Wyatts did to her” says Michael Cole. Paige nails some knee strikes on the apron, seemingly in full control. Brie is able to kick her in the knee, sending Paige to the mat. She rests on the bottom rope but Brie uses that opportunity to connect on a running knee. Brie goes to the second rope as Nikki cheers. Brie shouts “BRIE MODE” before coming off with a missile dropkick for two. She goes to pick the champion up, but Paige is able to push off and send both girls spilling to the outside. “Brie and Paige are showing everyone how much the Women’s Title means tonight” says Jerry Lawler. They get in the ring at the count of seven together, with Paige grabbing her for the Paige Turner. Brie fights out with some elbows and takes Paige arm, pulling her down into the Yes Lock! The crowd cheers this, but she’s unable to fully apply it as Paige gets out and turns it into the PTO! Brie struggles but is forced to tap out. Paige defeats Brie Bella in 6:57 to retain the WWE Women’s Championship!Cheers rain in from the TD Garden as Paige lets go of the submission and is declared the victor. She becomes the third champion to retain their gold tonight as the official hands her the title. Nikki Bella enters to check on her sister, who is still feeling the effects of the PTO. Paige looks at them before heading out with the title raised in the air.
Similar to what we see during the Royal Rumble, the participants in Money in the Bank each cut a promo in a dark room in the back. Alberto Del Rio goes first, reminding everyone that he won Money in the Bank back in 2011 and claims that he has the most to gain tonight as he wants to get back on the path to being WWE Champion again. Bad News Barrett promises that the briefcase will come home with the Authority, and if anyone thinks any differently, then he has some bad news for them. “I will be Mr. Money in the Bank and your United States Champion at the end of the night.” Next, Cesaro speaks, citing that there is nobody stronger than him in the match. He guarantees to swing someone on the road to the briefcase. CM Punk cuts his promo next, stating that he didn’t come back to lose. “I came back to be exactly what I was when I left, which is the best in the world. In order to be that, I need to be champion.” He reminds us that he’s the only two time winner in history. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins cut their promo together, stating that the Shield sticks together no matter what and the briefcase will belong to one of them, even if they have to fight for it. Dolph Ziggler sounds bitter, as he mentions that he is still pissed about losing the US Title and promises to come after Barrett, but his main focus is the briefcase. Lastly, Randy Orton guarantees that he will win Money in the Bank for the second straight year, and that he hopes to cash in on Daniel Bryan once again. MONEY IN THE BANK: ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. CESARO VS. CM PUNK VS. DEAN AMBROSE VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. RANDY ORTON VS. SETH ROLLINS; Right at the bell, Dolph Ziggler charges and tackles Bad News Barrett to the outside. That gets everyone going as everyone attacks one another. Dean Ambrose goes after Randy Orton, while CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio trade shots. The first ladder is brought into play as Ziggler slides in with one only to have Orton dropkick it into him. With everyone spilling outside, Seth sets up a ladder and runs up it before flipping out and taking out all of his opponents, including his Shield brother! Shortly after, Orton goes to climb but is instantly pulled down by the Shield members. They pound on him as Del Rio grabs a ladder outside, only for Punk to take him out with a suicide dive into it! “CM Punk is putting his body on the line for this briefcase” shouts Michael Cole. Since being taken out by Ziggler early, Barrett has wisely stayed away from the action outside. Inside, Seth looks for the Curb Stomp onto a ladder but Orton dodges and lays him out with an RKO before hip tossing Del Rio onto a ladder in the corner. Dean attacks him like a loose cannon, continuing to show their disdain for one another. Cesaro begins to climb the ladder, but Dean climbs up to stop him. They trade shots at the top until a massive uppercut knocks him off. Cesaro is unable to capitalize though as Barrett sneaks in with a low blow. He ascends but Punk is up and pulls him down right into a GTS! “There are broken bodies all over the place” says JBL. Dolph seems to be the only guy up as he sets up the ladder. He climbs, with the crowd behind him, and gets his finger tips on the briefcase. Unfortunately for him, Del Rio pulls him down and wipes him out with a loud superkick. Cesaro is quick to trip up Alberto and go for the swing. He swings him around nearly twenty times before letting go. He points up at the briefcase, as the crowd, already on their feet, are roaring. He climbs, getting his hand on the briefcase before Orton pulls him down into a massive RKO. It looks like Orton is all alone and headed back to the promised land, until Ambrose and Rollins get back on the offensive. They take him out with a rarely used double powerbomb. Soon after, the Shield picks apart nearly every competitor using their gang warfare mentality. They hit a double suplex on Ziggler and a double DDT on Del Rio, both onto ladders. “We are seeing once again why the Shield has dominated the WWE for the past year and a half” says Jerry Lawler. Both Seth and Dean climb the ladder, reaching the top at the same time. The crowd is on their feet as Dean and Seth look at each other before just battering one another with right hands, knowing that a shot at the WWE Title is on the line. They trade shots like we’ve never seen before, wearing each other out, causing both men to fall to the mat simultaneously. With all eight man down on the mat, the crowd comes to their feet in a show of appreciation. CM Punk is first to his feet as the fans continue to lose their minds. He climbs, struggling due to the physical nature of this mach. When he gets near the top, Bad News Barrett is able to turn his elbow pad inside out and climb up the opposite side. As he gets to the top, he knocks out Punk with a Bull Hammer. The fans boo as Barrett unhinges the briefcase and becomes Mr. Money in the Bank. Bad News Barrett wins Money in the Bank in 22:19!“What a car wreck we just witnessed! But at the end of it all, the Authority was right again as Bad News Barrett is now Mr. Money in the Bank” says Michael Cole. As the battered bodies roll out of the ring, Barrett stays atop the ladder, holding the briefcase high in the air. He lays his United States Title on his shoulder once he gets that as well, looking like an absolute winner while perched up there. Randy Orton, from a seated position in the corner, looks up with obvious mixed emotions. One thing is for sure, there is definitely some bad news in the future for whoever the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is.
We go backstage to Byron Saxton who is standing by with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan. First he asks for his opinion on what just happened in the Money in the Bank match. Bryan responds by saying that regardless of who walked away with that briefcase, they were going to be a serious threat to the title. “I’ve been there before and I know the damage that a cash in can do, especially when the person holding that briefcase is a member of the Authority.” Byron shifts gears to talk about Bray Wyatt, because Bryan may not be champion after tonight. Bryan understands that but brings up what happened to his wife. He has not forgotten and there is no way in hell that he lets Bray walk away from that. ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. JACK SWAGGER W/ ZEB COLTER; Both Alexander Rusev and Jack Swagger come to the ring with their respective flags, waving them frantically. When the bell rings, Rusev charges in with a superkick but Swagger avoids it and strikes with an impressive gutwrench suplex. Rusev backs away into the corner, stunned by this show of strength. “Jack Swagger is all business tonight in Boston” says JBL. He sets his sights on Rusev’s ankle, prepping it for the Patriot Lock. Rusev does his best to avoid it, but Swagger catches it and does damage. “King, we’ve never seen Rusev in this kind of trouble before” explains Michael Cole. Rusev limps around the ring but is able to catch Swagger with a big slam off the ropes to buy himself some time. When they get up, Rusev connects on a big superkick, but collapses instantly from the use of that injured foot. Lana shouts for him to crush but, for the first time, he is unable to follow through. He is up first, and he tries the Accolade. Swagger however, is able to slip out from under, trip him up and slap on the Patriot Lock. Judging by the look on his face, Rusev is in serious pain but doesn’t tap. He rolls forward, sending Swagger into the corner. He clubs away at Swagger’s back, getting him down into the Accolade. Swagger fights it but eventually taps out. Alexander Rusev defeats Jack Swagger in 7:02!Alexander Rusev struggles to get to his feet as Lana enters the ring to check on him. Zeb Colter looks devastated at the loss, while Lana points at Rusev when he is able to stand, basically on one foot. A bang is heard as a large Russian flag drops down behind Rusev and Lana. Not only do they win tonight, but they rub it in the face of the Boston fans.
Before our main event, we are taken to a commercial airing for next month’s Pay-Per-View spectacular, Battleground. Catch it live on PPV and the WWE Network on Sunday, July 20th, 2014 from Tampa, Florida!
A video package airs going back to the history between Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan. We see Bray trying to recruit Bryan to the Wyatt Family at the end of 2013. Bryan joined briefly but it was only to try and destroy them. These two gladiators met at the Royal Rumble, where Bray was victorious. They stayed away from each other until Bray targeted Bryan the night after Payback. He used Brie Bella to goad Bryan into giving him a title shot. That sent Bryan over the edge as he took it out on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, leading into tonight’s match. WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – DANIEL BRYAN (C) VS. BRAY WYATT W/ THE WYATT FAMILY; The look in Daniel Bryan’s eyes tell a story that shows the mind games played by Bray Wyatt over the past number of weeks has worked to some degree. Once the bell rings, Bryan comes out firing, delivering lefts, rights and kicks to Bray in the corner. The crowd is on their feet for this assault, but Bray stops it when he’s sent off the ropes and he comes back with a huge cross body. “For a guy his size, Bray Wyatt moves exceptionally quick” says JBL. Bray now takes control, clubbing away at Bryan and wearing him down. He nearly takes Bryan’s head off with a big short arm clothesline before getting him in the corner. Bray takes Bryan’s lifeless body and begins to dance with it. “How eerie is Bray Wyatt?” asks Lawler. Bryan is able to break free of this dance and kick Bray in the chest. He gets him down to his knees, spouting off multiple kicks in a row. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper make moves towards the ring, so Bryan takes them out with a big suicide dive. The fans in Boston get to their feet as Bryan climbs to the top and leaps off with a dropkick. He backs into the corner and calls for the Busaiku Knee, but thinks again. He looks at Bray, looks outside and heads out for a steel chair. “Don’t do it Bryan!” shouts Cole. Bryan goes to strike Bray with the chair but the referee pulls it away. Bryan seems to snap out of it, realizing that he’s letting his emotions get the best of him. He tries the knee again but Bray dodges and Bryan hits the turnbuckle. Bray picks him up and plants him with Sister Abigail, but that’s not enough to win the belt. Bray looks stunned at this, staring at Bryan in disbelief. Bray shouts “It’s mine!” at Bryan before backing into the corner himself. He turns over and begins to creepily crab walk over to him, but Bryan grabs his arm and turns him over into the Yes Lock! “Tap” chants ring out as the fans want to see Wyatt submit, but he doesn’t and is able to reach the ropes. Both men are clearly exhausted as they get to their feet. Bryan goes for another kick but Bray catches his foot and suplexes him over. He sets for Sister Abigail again, but Bryan counters and shoves him into the corner. Bray bounces out and is hit with the Busaiku Knee, which earns Bryan the victory. Daniel Bryan defeats Bray Wyatt to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 19:10!The WWE Universe in Boston, Massachusetts comes unglued as Daniel Bryan evens the score from Royal Rumble and gets his revenge on Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family. The official brings Daniel Bryan’s belts into the ring and he hoists them high in the air as the fans chant “Yes” in unison with him. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan pull Bray Wyatt out of the ring, but the focus is all on Bryan, who is triumphant as he continues his historic 2014 with another successful title defense.

Monday Night Raw: June 30th, 2014 – XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut
A series of images kicks off Raw, showing the highlights of Money in the Bank last night. We see stills of the chaotic Money in the Bank match, which was won by United States Champion Bad News Barrett. It then shows us some shots of the war between Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt, won by Daniel Bryan. Following the Raw opening video package, the music of the Authority hits as they make their way to the ring. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon walk arm in arm, flanked by the Intercontinental Champion Sheamus, the United States Champion and Money in the Bank holder Bad News Barrett, Randy Orton, Kane and Batista. They enter the ring to loud boos but Stephanie speaks first and says that she loves being in Hartford. She mentions that she was born in this city before saying that she and the Authority are out here to celebrate. Triple H takes over, saying that the first thing to celebrate is Sheamus retaining the Intercontinental Title. “He could have lost to Roman Reigns last night but he didn’t. Reigns and the Shield have been a thorn in our side for months but Sheamus shut him up last night. Another pest lately has been Big E. The man has made it his mission to go against us but he ran into a brick wall named the ‘Animal’. Then, Bad News Barrett climbed up and grabbed the brass ring that is the Money in the Bank briefcase, practically guaranteeing himself a future WWE World Heavyweight Title run.” Triple H moves over to Randy Orton but stops because Orton was unsuccessful in his match last night. Orton gives Triple H a look, but Stephanie chimes in to break the tension. She admits that Orton didn’t win but reminds everyone that he was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at the start of the year and is sure that he will be back on track as soon as possible. She goes back to discussing Barrett until she’s cut off. It’s the theme of Dolph Ziggler that stops the Billion Dollar Princess in her tracks as the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner steps onto the stage. Before he can talk, Stephanie angrily asks “Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you interrupt us?” Dolph explains who he is. “Me? I’m just the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, a former two time World Heavyweight Champion, two time United States Champion and the guy that should have won Money in the Bank last night.” The crowd pops for this as Dolph continues, stating that he admits a fair loss when it happens. “24 hours ago, Bad News Barrett over there won that briefcase on his own and I give him all of the props in the world for that. But that title wrapped around his waist is a whole different story. If it wasn’t for your seven foot sellout, I’d still be champion and I’m here to get my rematch.” Stephanie initially declines the rematch due to his attitude but Barrett says that it’s fine. “I am Mr. Money in the Bank, the United States Champion and your next WWE World Heavyweight Champion. I have no problem showing the world once again that I can beat you Dolph.” We go to commercial as Dolph begins to walk to the ring. WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – BAD NEWS BARRETT (C) W/ THE AUTHORITY VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; At first he was happy to get his rematch but Dolph Ziggler realizes that some of the Authority (Kane, Triple H and Stephanie) is staying at ringside and he becomes very cautious. They lock up in the middle of the ring and Barrett quickly overpowers him. Dolph can tell that he won’t win the power game, so he goes to the mat, utilizing his Kent State amateur wrestling background. They work through a commercial break, with Barrett in control after. Dolph pulls a superkick from out of nowhere to change the momentum. He hits the Fameasser and covers, but the referee gets distracted by the Authority. Dolph goes over and begins to yell at Triple H. Kane slides the Money in the Bank briefcase in, which Barrett picks up and uses to lay out Dolph which is enough to score the pinfall. Bad News Barrett defeats Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE United States Championship in 10:43!Bad News Barrett gets handed both his briefcase and his United States Title, which both get raised high in the air. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon clap for him outside, happy to see one of their chosen ones doing so well. The rest of the Authority look on, working as unit here tonight.
Backstage, Renee Young is standing by with the Shield. They all look to be in foul moods as Renee asks them about last night. Dean Ambrose responds first, saying that you don’t have to be a brain surgeon to see that last night was an unsuccessful one. “Neither Seth nor I walked away with that Money in the Bank briefcase and Roman here didn’t leave with the Intercontinental Title. Make no mistake, we have no excuses for that but understand that we are in a pissed off and foul mood.” Roman Reigns speaks, saying that they are going to take out their frustrations tonight. “Believe that.”
“Cult of Personality” blasts over the loud speakers as the fans rise to their feet for the arrival of CM Punk. He strolls to the ring, basking in the cheers. When he enters the ring, he also discusses Money in the Bank. He mentions how that one match changed his career twice in the past by winning it. “However, it may have changed it for a third time last night. You see, even though I didn’t grab the briefcase, coming so close reminded me of just how much I miss being the WWE Champion. If you all recall, I held that honor for a modern day record 434 days and since then, I’ve yet to do it again. So while I was unable to win the briefcase last night, another idea came to my head.” Punk points out that Daniel Bryan retained the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Bray Wyatt and that he and Bryan are old friends. He flat out lays down a challenge to Bryan for a title shot. The crowd roars for this but that turns to boos when Sheamus shows up. The Intercontinental Champion talks as he walks to the ring, claiming that Punk doesn’t deserve a WWE Title shot. “You said it best fella…you lost last night. You don’t deserve a shot at any title, whether it’s the WWE World Heavyweight Title or my Intercontinental Title.” Sheamus runs down Punk but once he enters the ring, Punk cuts him off and says that he has no problem taking the Intercontinental Title from him right now. Sheamus chuckles and again says that Punk doesn’t deserve a shot, but he’ll gladly kick his arse. NON-TITLE: SHEAMUS VS. CM PUNK; Our second straight match of the evening to feature the Authority is a lot more hard hitting than the opener. That is the usual Sheamus style, but CM Punk is firing away with stiff shots of his own as well. Much like the first match, these two go through a commercial break with Sheamus just starting to gain control. He works on Punk’s neck and back throughout. He shouts “are you not entertained?” to the fans, who boo him loudly. This act of arrogance costs him when Punk is able deliver a flurry of strikes that send Sheamus back into the corner. He hits a knee strike and a bulldog before applying the Anaconda Vise. Sheamus refuses to submit though and is able to counter. He goes for the Brogue Kick but Punk ducks and connects on the GTS to win. CM Punk defeats Sheamus in 12:05!CM Punk gets to his feet as the fans cheer loudly. Since capturing the Intercontinental Championship back at Extreme Rules, Sheamus has been nearly unstoppable but Punk was able to overcome him tonight. “If anyone still questions whether or not CM Punk is deserving of a title shot, he just answered those doubts” says Michael Cole.
We go to the back where Tom Phillips is with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. He asks Bryan for his thoughts on what CM Punk just said. Bryan says that Punk is indeed a good friend of his and he would like nothing more than to give him a one on one shot. “Honestly though, my bigger concern right now is tonight’s main event. It was tough enough to defeat Bray Wyatt last night but now I have to go in against Erick Rowan and Luke Harper at the same time.” He knows that it will be one of the toughest matches of his career, but he is ready to rid his life of the Wyatt Family.
Following some still images of the battle between Alexander Rusev and Jack Swagger last night at Money in the Bank, we cut to see Rusev and Lana standing in the ring awaiting his next challenger for the Open Invitational. The crowd comes alive when the music of Big E strikes. ALEXANDER RUSEV OPEN INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. BIG E; Coming off of a loss to Batista last night, Big E looks to rebound and become the first person to survive the five minutes of this challenge. Alexander Rusev tries to use his strength but quickly comes to the realization that Big E is stronger. The former weightlifting champion actually tosses Rusev around a bit, leaving Lana with a worried look on her face. A distraction from her however, is enough to allow Rusev to connect on a big superkick. With him now in the driver’s seat, he’s able to apply the Accolade. Big E fights and refuses to quit, but succumbs to the submission and passes out. Alexander Rusev defeats Big E in 4:06!You can feel the air get let out of the building as they hoped Big E would be the guy to end the Alexander Rusev Open Invitational but it was not to be. Lana raises Rusev’s hand as the pair celebrate yet another win. Who can stop this man?
Returning, Renee Young tries to catch up with Big E, who is walking away with his head down. She asks him for a word, so Big E looks at her. He says that for a while, he felt like he was going to have a huge career in the WWE. “I was the Intercontinental Champion and things looked up. But then I lost that. I lost my rematch, I lost to Batista and tonight, I couldn’t last five minutes with Alexander Rusev. Maybe it’s time I take a long look at myself in the mirror because something has to change if I’m going to be the next big thing.” He walks off with his head down as Renee looks on. CESARO VS. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA; Twenty-four hours ago, Cesaro came very close to winning the Money in the Bank briefcase. Fandango hits a jumping kick early on, trying to take the Swiss Superman off his game, but Cesaro is too good for that. He catches him off the ropes with an impressive tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. He sets up for the swing, but Fandango pulls him into an inside cradle for two. When Cesaro gets up, he brutalizes him with an uppercut. Cesaro drops him with the Neutralizer, covering for the three. Cesaro defeats Fandango in 2:00!Getting to his feet, Cesaro requests a microphone. He is handed one and keeps it short and sweet. He says that after coming close to victory last night, all he can think about is winning some gold. “I don’t care if it’s Bad News Barrett, I don’t care if it’s Sheamus, I’m coming for one of those titles because when I step into this ring, there is nobody that can do the things I do.” He slams the microphone down and poses for the fans.
3MB VS. THE SHIELD; There are some one sided matches and then there is this massacre. The Shield did not lie earlier tonight when they said they were pissed off and 3MB absolutely felt their wrath. The faux rockers don’t get in any offense as Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns just run through them. Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds on Jinder Mahal, Rollins plants Drew McIntyre with the Curb Stomp and Reigns shreds Heath Slater with a Spear. That scores them the win. The Shield defeats 3MB in 3:37!The Shield put their fists together in the ring to celebrate their victory. The only reason that took as long as it did was because it seemed like the Shield really enjoyed that. With Evolution and Money in the Bank behind the Shield, one has to wonder what’s next for the dominant trio.
Cutting backstage, we see Randy Orton pacing with a concerned look on his face when Batista comes up to him. He asks what’s up, and Orton responds by saying that what happened during the opening promo got to him. “You, Sheamus and Barrett all won last night and I came out looking like a loser. That’s not who I am at all. You know it, these people know it and Hunter knows it.” At this point, Triple H appears, agreeing that he knows it. He says that with Sheamus and Barrett currently holding titles, maybe it’s time for Batista and Orton to do the same. He wants them to go out tonight and win a tag team match, so he can see if they’re deserving of a Tag Team Title shot. He leaves as Orton and Batista ponder the idea of being Tag Team Champions.
The Titantron shows what looks to be a trailer for a new film but the screen cuts to the Miz’s titantron as he steps out onto the stage. Surprisingly, he is arm in arm with another returnee, Summer Rae. They strut down to the ring with new looks, as they have shades on and are acting like they’re above everyone else. When they get in the ring, the fans boo them but Miz has a microphone. “Did you miss us?” The fans chant “no” but it’s as if Miz can’t hear them because he just continues, saying that the WWE begged him to come back because they missed his star power as a multi-media superstar. “I’ve accomplished so much in the WWE and now I’m conquering Hollywood. But I’m not doing that alone. You all know this lovely lady as Summer Rae, but what you may not know is that she is my co-star in the Marine 4. Just like me, she is taking over Hollywood. First it was Total Divas and now it’s the Marine 4.” Miz continues by claiming that the WWE Universe has never clamored for a return like his. “Honestly, is there anyone in the entire history of the WWE that you’d rather see come back than myself and Summer Rae? The answer is no.” He goes to ramble some more but pyro explodes on the stage which cut him off. “BREAK THE WALLS DOWN” is heard and the fans go nuts as Chris Jericho appears on the stage! This is the first time we’ve seen Jericho in about a year. Jericho has a microphone, starting with a hearty “Would you please shut the hell up?” The crowd continues to cheer loudly. Jericho says that if the WWE Universe wanted a multi-media star they need to look no further than Y2J. When he enters the ring, Miz gets right in his face, demanding an apology for interrupting him but Jericho laughs it off. Miz shoves him, causing Jericho to lay him out with a Codebreaker. The fans are on their feet, while Summer Rae checks on him and yells at Jericho. Jericho poses for the fans, as the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla is back! ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. CODY RHODES W/ GOLDUST; The attempt at some singles success by Cody Rhodes continues here as he takes on a former four time World Champion in Alberto Del Rio. In typical Del Rio fashion, he goes after the arm of his opponent before trying for the Cross Armbreaker. Cody holds his hands together to prevent the hold from being applied correctly. He turns it over into a pin for two. Del Rio goes for a superkick but Cody ducks, springboards off the second rope and connects on the Disaster Kick. He runs to the corner but misses a gorgeous moonsault. Del Rio tries a superkick again, but Cody is able to duck it again. He gets behind Del Rio and ends him with the Cross Rhodes. Cody Rhodes defeats Alberto Del Rio in 8:01!
The crowd cheers as Cody Rhodes racks up a pretty massive win here. Goldust runs in and hugs his brother, who is continuing to find some success after struggling as a unit over the past few months. Alberto Del Rio rolls out of the ring, disappointed in losing for the second straight night.
A vignette airs for the upcoming debut of Adam Rose. As usual, he’s on a party bus with some strange looking characters. BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON VS. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM; The two members of the Authority seem to not be in a very good mood, as they come out pretty aggressively. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam, less than a day removed from losing a Tag Team Title shot, are unable to get out of the blocks. They do make a rally towards the middle of the match, with Kingston hitting SOS for two. Batista is too powerful though, planting him with a spinebuster. He tags in Randy Orton, who comes in and strikes with an RKO. He covers and they are victorious. Batista and Randy Orton defeat Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam in 4:40!Things turn ugly as winning isn’t enough for Batista and Randy Orton. They want to make a statement, so they continue to beat down on Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam after the bell. Batista takes out RVD with a vicious Batista Bomb in the ring as Orton clears off the announce table. Batista and Orton take Kofi Kingston and destroy him with the powerbomb/RKO combination they used at WrestleMania XXX. “Batista and Randy Orton just annihilated the former number one contenders to the Tag Team Titles” shouts Michael Cole.
The below graphic is shown to hype an announcement just made for Main Event tomorrow. With Cesaro’s claim to come after the Intercontinental or United States Titles, both held by members of the Authority, he’s made himself an enemy. Tomorrow night on the WWE Network, he will go one on one with the Director of Operations, Kane!
Returning, we are joined by the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige. She comes to the ring to a huge ovation as she joins commentary, fresh off of retaining her title against Brie Bella last night. THE BELLA TWINS VS. THE FUNKADACTYLS; During the entrance of the Bella Twins, an insert promo airs. Brie says that she’s disappointed in her loss but Nikki interjects reminding Brie that they both held the Divas Title in the past. She says that the difference back then was that they worked together and weren’t worried about what the fans thought. Brie seems a bit put off by this but ponders it. The Funkadactyls still have communication issues, but it’s hair pulling and a handful of tights that win this for Nikki. The Bella Twins defeat The Funkadactyls in 2:10!Paige stands up from the commentary booth, looking on at the Bella Twins and even at Naomi as potential future contenders for her title. The Bellas raise each other’s hands as the fans give them a mixed reaction, with Brie still not looking sure about Nikki’s tactics.
The cameras go backstage to show Stephanie McMahon watching on the monitor with a smile. A knock is heard and in steps newly returned Summer Rae. She tells Stephanie that she’s watched her throw challengers at Paige for weeks, only for her to knock them down. “There is one girl that she hasn’t beaten…me. I don’t know if you remember, but in NXT, I was the first girl to pin Paige. I’ve always wanted to be a WWE Diva and when she got rid of the Divas Title, it bothered me just as much as you. Give me a chance to beat her.” She claims that with her new status as an A-List Hollywood star, Stephanie thinks about it, saying she’ll give Summer a chance to show what she’s capable of later this week. Summer leaves and is pleased. DANIEL BRYAN VS. ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER W/ BRAY WYATT; Daniel Bryan is wisely cautious throughout this match, doing his best to pick his spots. Even though Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are forced to tag in and out during this match, they still are able to control this with quick tags and double team maneuvers. Bryan is able to gain some traction by tripping Rowan up and applying the Yes Lock! Harper runs in to break it with some kicks. Bryan is able to one of the kicks and pull him down into another submission variation! However, this one is also broken, but by Bray Wyatt this time, resulting in the disqualification. Daniel Bryan defeats Erick Rowan and Luke Harper via disqualification in 9:41!Bray Wyatt stomps on Daniel Bryan, until Erick Rowan and Luke Harper get up and can join in. Things look very bleak for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion until the man who challenged him earlier tonight, CM Punk rushes out. He fights off the Wyatts as the crowd cheers, but he succumbs to the numbers game as well. Bray sets him up for Sister Abigail but is stopped by a sound. “Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield.” The fans in Hartford explode as the Shield makes their way to the ring. Bray drops Punk, who is laid out next to Bryan. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns surround the ring, as the Wyatts await them. These teams have met twice before in two wars. The Shield look at each other and nod as they get on the apron. The Wyatts attack and we have a pier six brawl around ringside. Reigns and Bray do battle outside, Ambrose takes it to Rowan and Harper pounds on Seth. The fight goes all over the place until the Shield are able to send the Wyatts retreating. Harper and Rowan try to go back and fight but Bray commands them to stop, realizing they should save the fight for another day. The crowd is still buzzing, as they always do when these two stables collide. The Shield stand tall in the ring while Punk and Bryan are still hurt.

WWE Main Event: July 1st, 2014 – Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey
Main Event opens with its weekly intro before cutting to the arena, which is the sold out Prudential Center. The arena is also known as the “Rock” and rocking is exactly what it’s doing tonight. Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton introduce the show tonight, reminding us of the main event between the Swiss Superman and the Director of Operations, while also announcing that the WWE Women’s Champion Paige will be in action!
The already hot fans come unglued as they hear the music of the Shield. As the dominant trio come through the stands, we are taken to a replay from Raw last night where the Shield came to the aid of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk as the Wyatt Family were attacking them. As they enter the ring, Seth Rollins takes a microphone and waits for the crowd to die down. He says that for the entire day, fans have been wondering what made them come out against the Wyatt Family last night. “It’s relatively simple actually. A little over a month ago, the three of us not only stood toe to toe with Evolution and beat them in the middle of this ring. Evolution consists of three of the most accomplished Superstars in the history of the WWE and they are one of the greatest factions in history. And we beat them.” The fans cheer that as Seth hand the microphone over to Dean Ambrose. He starts, saying that after beating Evolution, a lot of people wondered what would be next for them. “Some people even called us the greatest faction in history. While we appreciate that for sure, we cannot honestly believe it for one reason. There is one group that we’ve never beaten. The Wyatt Family. They beat us at Elimination Chamber and then again on Raw a few weeks later. We don’t like the taste that left in our mouths.” Roman Reigns, as usual, speaks last to end the promo. “Bray Wyatt. Erick Rowan. Luke Harper. We wanna do it again. Shield vs. Wyatts. The gauntlet has been thrown down, now it’s up to you to accept. Believe that.” Reigns throws the microphone down as the three men put their fists together, with the crowd buzzing at the challenge that was just made.
An advertisement airs to promote the brand new WWE 50 book. It chronicles the 50 year history of the WWE with exclusive photos and Superstar profiles, all in one amazing book. As we set up for our opening contest, a recap quickly airs of the formation of the “Age of Enlightenment” in recent weeks, before we also see how successful Cody Rhodes has been as a singles guy, while Goldust has struggled. GOLDUST W/ CODY RHODES VS. TITUS O’NEIL W/ DAMIEN SANDOW; Goldust has not had it easy when it comes to working as a solo act lately and Titus O’Neil is no slouch. He begins by tossing Goldust around the ring for a bit, but the veteran uses his savvy to drop down and hit an uppercut. Goldust goes into a series of offense that seems like it is going to get him the win. However, he tries a move from the second rope that misses, allowing Titus to take over. The big man sends Goldust off the ropes and finishes him with the Clash of the Titus. Titus O’Neil defeats Goldust in 4:59!As soon as the bell rings, Titus O’Neil gets to his feet and goes for his loud trademark barking, but Damien Sandow raises his hand and Titus stops. Sandow enters and raises Titus’ hand high in the air, while Cody Rhodes slides in to check on his fallen brother in the back.
A commercial runs to promote WWE Countdown. Tonight’s new episode, which airs immediately following Main Event, features a list of the top ten most thunderous returns in the history of the WWE! NON-TITLE: PAIGE VS. CAMERON W/ NAOMI; Last night on Raw, Paige realized that she may have some new challengers. Both of the Bella Twins seem focused on the gold, while Summer Rae also looked for a shot. Here, Cameron looks to knock a chink in the armor of the Women’s Champion. Her attitude continues to be a problem though, as she blatantly disrespects Paige with a slap. The Women’s Champion doesn’t take kindly to that and strikes with some vicious knees. She is able to apply the PTO and Cameron has to tap out. Paige defeats Cameron in 2:34!Paige is handed the WWE Women’s Championship and hoists it in the air. Naomi looks on at Cameron and shakes her head at her overconfident partner. Regardless of whether it’s a Bella Twin or Summer Rae, Paige looks to be ready for the challenge.
Backstage, Renee Young is standing by with the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus. She asks him for his thoughts on tonight’s main event between Cesaro and Kane. Sheamus says that Cesaro is a brash guy. “It takes a fair amount of guts to say that you’re coming for the Intercontinental or United States Titles considering the two guys holding them right now. But I’ve proven myself to be a fighting champion haven’t I Renee? If Cesaro can somehow beat Kane tonight, I’ll consider giving him a shot. I’ll make sure he realizes what a horrible mistake he’s made.
An ad airs for the WWE Shop, set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. We see various Superstars, Divas and fans sporting official merchandise from WWE Shop. BO DALLAS VS. JUSTIN GABRIEL; Fresh off the biggest victory of his career so far at Money in the Bank, Bo Dallas looks to continue riding that momentum. The WWE’s resident daredevil, Justin Gabriel looks to stand in the way of that. He flies around the ring, overwhelming the chipper Bo Dallas. He makes a crucial mistake when a springboard attempt ends with a misfire. That allows Bo to go to work on his lower back, setting up for his finisher. Bo is able to slap on the Bo and Arrow, and Gabriel taps out relatively quickly. Bo Dallas defeats Justin Gabriel in 3:38!Bo Dallas leaps up with a goofy smile on his face. He rolls outside and does a victory lap around the ring before grabbing a microphone. He reminds everyone that he defeated Christian at Money in the Bank, and made him a Boliever. “Tonight, I made Justin Gabriel one too.” He enters and pats Gabriel on the back, telling him that he’ll do better next time.
Tom Phillips informs us that while the Wyatt Family didn’t answer the Shield earlier tonight, a huge match has been set up for this Friday night’s Smackdown. The patriarch of the Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, will go one on one with the “Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose! CESARO VS. KANE; Our main event tonight pits the “Swiss Superman” against Kane in a hard hitting battle. Kane looks motivated to prove that he can still go with the best young guns in the company. He starts strong, nailing a big boot and side slam before slowing things down. Cesaro rallies behind the fans and busts out some of his now routine feats of strength. He calls for the Cesaro Swing, but Kane is able to kick him away. Kane attempts a chokeslam but Cesaro breaks his grip and scores with a vicious uppercut. He follows that with the Neutralizer to get the 1-2-3. Cesaro defeats Kane in 7:01!
The bell sounds and the crowd cheers as Cesaro has defeated the Director of Operations tonight. Considering what Sheamus had to say earlier tonight, one has to imagine that Cesaro may be on the road to a shot at the Intercontinental Title in the very near future!

WWE NXT: July 3rd, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Things open tonight with the weekly NXT intro video, before cutting straight to the arena. Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Alex Riley welcome the viewers to the show before we go right to the ring for our opening contest. ENZO AMORE AND COLIN CASSADY VS. THE LEGIONNAIRES; The fans at Full Sail University sure do love the charismatic duo of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, leaping to their feet for their arrival. They do their usual talking stuff, before the Legionnaires interrupt them. The tag team division in NXT continues to heat up with both of these duos looking to do like Sami Zayn and get into title contention. Enzo takes a bit of a beating but when he tags in Big Cass, things turn around. The big man from Queens comes in hot, and hits Marcus Louis with a big boot, resulting in the finish. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeat The Legionnaires in 3:01!“A big win for Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady tonight as they move one step closer to earning another shot at the Ascension and the NXT Tag Team Titles” says Rich Brennan. Enzo gets back in the ring and leaps up to high five Big Cass, whiles Sylvester Lefort asks Marcus Louis what happened in there.
Going backstage, Devin Taylor is standing by with Tyler Breeze. She tells him that General Manager John “Bradshaw” Layfield is set to make an announcement regarding the NXT Championship. She wants his thoughts on that. Tyler gives her a disgusted look before asking, “How can I have an opinion on it if we don’t even know what the news is?” Devin gives a confused look before Tyler continues saying that the announcement better be that he’s getting a title shot because the title belongs around his gorgeous waist.
A commercial runs to promote the release of Batista’s new “Unleashing the Animal” DVD, which chronicles his time in Hollywood as well as his return to the WWE. BECKY LYNCH VS. SASHA BANKS W/ THE BFFS; Becky Lynch is making her debut here in NXT. She seems to be a bit of a fan of punk music as she whips her hair around like she’s at a rock concert or something. Once the bell rings though, she proves to be a very accomplished wrestler, targeting Sasha Banks’ arm. The BFF member gets pissed that a new girl is getting in so much and blatantly slaps her. Summer Rae and Charlotte both don’t seem very impressed with Sasha, and actually end up arguing about Charlotte hugging Bayley last week. This distracts Sasha and allows Becky to roll her up for two. She follows with a series of leg drops before a big exploder suplex for the upset win. Becky Lynch defeats Sasha Banks in 6:03!A great reaction comes from the crowd as they are happy and shocked at the result we just witnessed. Becky Lynch, from out of nowhere in her first match, has defeated Sasha Banks. The other BFFs enter the ring, so Becky quickly scurries as Sasha Banks is livid and beside herself in the ring. She gets to her feet and begins to shout at Charlotte and Summer, blaming them for the loss.
Devin Taylor once again is standing by with Tyson Kidd to ask him the same question that she asked Tyler Breeze. Tyson claims that what Tyler said is half right. “JBL better make sure that I’m the number one contender. I’ve sent Nattie to go and tell him about my accomplishments but she’s never done it right. I’m a former WWE Tag Team Champion. Fact. I’m the father of the greatest cats in the world. Fact. I’ve had a WrestleMania moment. Fact. Please point me in the direction of anyone else in NXT with all of those accomplishments. I’ll wait.” When Devin can’t mention anyone Tyson smiles and walks away.
An ad airs for WWE Countdown. The newest episode premiered this past Tuesday night, showcasing the WWE Universe’s picks for the ten most thunderous returns in history. John “Bradshaw” Layfield is now shown in his office and he addresses the camera. “The NXT Universe has seen multiple Superstars stake their claim to be the next top contender for the NXT Championship. Adrian Neville has proven to be more than a fighting champion and he’s ready for his next challenge. We will find out who that is next week when Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze and Corey Graves do battle in a Triple Threat match to determine the number one contender!” MASON RYAN VS. STEVE CUTLER; For those who forgot, Mason Ryan is a former member of the Nexus and one of the most powerful men in the WWE. He now has longer hair but hasn’t been seen in a pretty long time. Steve Cutler doesn’t get an entrance and pretty much has no chance. He gets in a few strikes, but the fans rejoice after Ryan puts him down with a backbreaker rack turned into a neckbreaker. Mason Ryan defeats Steve Cutler in 0:46!
The match ends as commentary mentions that there is a new force to be reckoned with in NXT and his name is Mason Ryan. He wins in very impressive fashion, looking like a guy that will be incredibly tough to stop.
Returning, Renee Young is on the stage where she introduces someone for an interview. “Please welcome my guest at this time, the returning Evan Bourne!” The fans come to their feet for this surprise as Evan Bourne steps out onto the stage, throwing up the peace sign at the fans. He looks very happy to be here as Renee welcomes him back and he admits that it feels good to be back. She asks, “Evan, you’ve found success on the main roster in the past, so what made you want to return here to NXT?” Evan responds by saying that he’s always made it a point to be part of cutting edge wrestling. “Whether it was my time traveling the world before coming to the WWE or even my time in ECW a few years back, I want to be with the groundbreaking guys and girls, and right now, that is in NXT.” The fans pop for this so Renee asks him about his goals in NXT. He says that first, he wants to shake off the ring rust before going for the NXT Championship that is so coveted.
We go backstage to Devin Taylor one final time tonight as she is standing by with Sami Zayn. A recap is shown from a few weeks ago, when Sami said that he wants to go after the Tag Team Titles, only to be assaulted by the Ascension. Devin asks Sami about his condition. He says that he’s good enough to compete and just because the Ascension attacked him doesn’t mean he’s going to change his mind. “I’m still coming for the titles boys and you just made it personal. The only thing I have to do now is find the right partner, but when I do, you need to watch out.” ADAM ROSE VS. SOLOMON CROWE; Ever since his debut about a month ago, Solomon Crowe has targeted Adam Rose. After using the Stretch Muffler on him more than once, Rose has a messed up knee now and it shows here. Crowe is like a shark smelling blood, attacking it relentlessly. Rose’s Exotic Express goes from partying to looking very concerned. He does manage to rally with a big clothesline and even hits the Party Foul, but is too banged up to cover immediately. When he finally does, Crowe is able to get the shoulder up. He tries another clothesline but Crowe ducks and trips him up before slapping on the Stretch Muffler. Rose nearly gets the ropes, but Crowe pulls harder and he taps out. Solomon Crowe defeats Adam Rose in 9:10!
Solomon Crowe celebrates the biggest win of his career so far, as he puts down someone who has had success in NXT so far. Some of the Exotic Express come in to check on Rose, but the focus is on Crowe, who continues to look incredibly vicious.

Friday Night Smackdown: July 4th, 2014 – Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey
Smackdown opens with a video package showing various shots of American flags, soldiers and bald eagles as we are reminded that today is Independence Day. Following that, we move to a recap of the events from this past Monday. We see the Wyatt Family attack Daniel Bryan before CM Punk attempted to make the save. When that failed, the Shield showed up and cleaned house. This is intercut with the promo that the Shield cut on Main Event, declaring that they wanted their hands on the Wyatt Family. Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduce the show as the camera pans over the crowd in Newark. Before they can send us to any opening contest, pyro explodes and Chris Jericho’s theme blares over the loudspeakers. The fans come to their feet as the surefire future Hall of Famer steps onto the Smackdown stage for the first time in over a year. As he walks to the ring, a quick replay shows of his return this past Monday when he interrupted the Miz and laid him out with a Codebreaker. Jericho waits for the applause to die down before speaking about how good it is to be back in the WWE. “You all know me, I’ve kind of become the king of returns around here as well as the king of the world baby. I’ve been planning on coming back for a long time now, but this past Monday made the most sense. I heard that Miz was coming back and proclaiming to be some sort of multi-media mega star which is an absolute joke.” Jericho throws some verbal jabs at Miz, calling him names and running him down until Miz himself comes out to the stage, with Summer Rae next to him. Miz says that what Jericho did on Monday was an absolute travesty. “How dare you hit me with a Codebreaker? Do you not realize who I am? I am an A-List celebrity and you attacked the money maker. This face is my ticket and how dare you target it?” Jericho smirks and says that if Miz’s face is his money maker, then he must be flat broke. The fans laugh as Miz is irate and Summer Rae consoles him, telling him that is not the case. Miz says he’s not going to take this from Jericho and challenges him. Jericho accepts and holds the ropes open for Miz to enter. Miz decides against it though. “I am the Superstar here Chris. I do things on my own terms. We will fight, but it will be when I say so.” Miz and Summer Rae head off leaving Jericho with an annoyed look on his face.
Michael Cole informs everyone that starting tomorrow night, every episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event from the 1980’s will be available on demand on the WWE Network! DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; It’s been a rough week for Dolph Ziggler as he lost his United States Title, Money in the Bank and the subsequent US Title rematch to Bad News Barrett. He looks to get back on track against one of the hottest Superstars in NXT, Tyson Kidd. Kidd is smart, going after the leg of Ziggler. He attacks it relentlessly, but Dolph is able to use his other leg for a superkick that turns things around. Kidd eventually tries the Sharpshooter, but Dolph kicks him off into the corner. He charges back only to get caught in a reverse powerslam by Ziggler. Dolph waits for him to get up, before hitting the Zig Zag for the win. Dolph Ziggler defeats Tyson Kidd in 8:23!Dolph Ziggler rolls out of the ring and has his hand raised by the official. While he has struggled as of late, this was a good win to get him back on the right track. One has to imagine that he isn’t done with the Authority, especially considering he’s made some comments towards the Director of Operations on Twitter recently.
Bad News Barrett and Sheamus are watching on a monitor in the Authority’s office before they turn their focus to Cesaro. Sheamus says that Cesaro saying he was coming for one of their titles and then beating Kane on Main Event makes him a threat. Barrett shrugs him off, saying that he’s feeling in the Independence Day spirit. “I think that I should defend my United States Title tonight. I’ll even give the shot to Cesaro. I’ll show him that challenging one of us is a mistake he’ll quickly regret.” Sheamus smirks and pats Barrett on the back as it looks like we’ll have a US Title match on the 4th of July.
We go to Byron Saxton, who is standing by with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. He asks Zeb what’s next after Jack was unable to best Alexander Rusev. Zeb gives him a dirty look for the question, but admits that Byron is right. “We were unable to beat Rusev but the strong suit of the Real Americans has always been as a unit. Cesaro went off on his own and we’re over that, but I think we need to go find a new real American to get back to the level of success we used to have.” He ends thing with a hearty WE THE PEOPLE, getting ready to search for a new real American. NON-TITLE: THE USOS VS. LOS MATADORES W/ EL TORITO; While the tag team division has been heating up as of late, Los Matadores is one team that hasn’t found much success. They bust out some rather impressive double team moves here, but the Usos are able to quickly right the ship and take control. Diego tries to springboard in, but does so right into a superkick from Jimmy. He tags Jey, who hits a splash off the top that ends this match. The Usos defeat Los Matadores in 2:49!The WWE Tag Team Champions are handed their belts as the fans cheer them on. Those cheers turn to boos as the theme of Batista hits. He and Randy Orton walk out onto the stage, staring down the Usos. Batista has a microphone and says that when Triple H suggested he and Orton go after the Tag Team Titles on Monday, they were skeptical. “After beating Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam though, we kind of like teaming up. I think we like it so much that we want a title shot.” The Usos don’t seem to mind as Randy Orton takes over on the microphone. He says that they will talk to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to set a time and date, but he directs us to a video of what they did on Raw to RVD and Kingston. “That will be your fate very soon boys.” The Usos look a bit worried at that, with a very big threat looming for their titles. WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – BAD NEWS BARRETT (C) VS. CESARO; With his declaration on Monday night, Cesaro made himself an enemy in the Authority, which isn’t something you really want to do. He comes out of the bocks hitting hard, trading some big blows with Bad News Barrett. Barrett uses a thumb to the eye to stop him in his tracks and take control. Cesaro comes back with a big time popup uppercut but Barrett is able to get his foot on the bottom rope. Cesaro calls for the swing, but Barrett pulls him into a small package for two. They get up at the same time and Barrett goes for the Bull Hammer, only for Cesaro to duck and strike with a vicious uppercut. The crowd comes alive as he goes for the Neutralizer, but Sheamus runs down to the rind and nearly takes his head off with a Brogue Kick. Cesaro defeats Bad News Barrett via disqualification in 8:21; Barrett retains the United States Championship! The WWE Universe boos as Sheamus and Bad News Barrett put the boots to Cesaro. “The Swiss Superman was within a hair of capturing the United States Title, but is now just getting mugged” says Michael Cole. Barrett holds Cesaro in position so Sheamus can hit a second Brogue Kick that knocks Cesaro out cold. The two Authority members stand over Cesaro’s body holding their titles, and Barrett’s briefcase high in the air.
We are now taken to a recap of the WWE World Heavyweight Title picture on Raw. First, Daniel Bryan retaining the belt against Bray Wyatt is quickly shown. Then we see CM Punk come out on Raw and ask Daniel Bryan for a title shot. Instead of getting Bryan, he was greeted by Sheamus. Later on in the evening, Punk came to Bryan’s aid against the Wyatt Family. Following the video, Michael Cole informs us that Daniel Bryan will have an answer for CM Punk this Monday night on Raw.
The fans leap to their feet as the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige, makes her way to the ring. As she comes out, we see a recap from Raw, where Summer Rae begged Stephanie McMahon to give her a crack at the Women’s Title. Paige joins commentary for this match. EMMA W/ SANTINO MARELLA VS. SUMMER RAE W/ THE MIZ; These are two girls that found moderate success in NXT, but have struggled a bit on the main roster. Emma is her usual carefree self, but there seems to be a newfound viciousness to Summer Rae. She mixes it with an arrogance that Paige is sure to make note of on commentary. Summer is able to use her long legs to her advantage and hit the summer crush to get the win. Summer Rae defeats Emma in 3:04!Summer Rae gets to her feet as Miz enters the ring and applauds her. Paige stands up from commentary, watching as another contender for her title emerges. She now has the Bella Twins and Summer Rae all vying for shots. Summer wipes her feet on the mat and onto Emma, in a clear show of disrespect. This new, more arrogant attitude seems to suit her well.
Returning, the “Ravishing Russian” Lana is introduced as she walks out onto the stage, allowing the crowd to take in her looks. She seems to relish in the chance to show off before speaking in Russian. When she finally translates to English, she brings out the “Super Athlete”, Alexander Rusev. He walks side by side with her as they enter the ring. She speaks, first discussing Jack Swagger. “While Rusev and I share no love for America, Jack Swagger made it about this country. That is not what Rusev is out here to do. Rusev is here to prove to each and every single one of you that he is the most dominant athlete in the history of the WWE. That’s what the Alexander Rusev Open Invitational is all about. It seems like the puny athletes who take a shot at this don’t want the $5000 badly enough. Even more, they must not want the prestige that comes with surviving five minutes against Rusev.” She issues the challenge for tonight, when some patriotic music plays. Out steps a man in a mask that is introduced as the Patriot, though it’s clearly not the same guy who donned the mask in 1997. ALEXANDER RUSEV OPEN INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. THE PATRIOT; On this Independence Day, the Patriot returns to try and overcome Alexander Rusev. The $5000 could not have been further from him though as he runs right into a superkick. Rusev plants him with a big swinging slam before applying the Accolade. The Patriot submits in quick fashion. Alexander Rusev defeats The Patriot in 0:57!Lana seems to enjoy this as she enters the ring laughing and doesn’t immediately tell Alexander Rusev to let go of the Accolade like she usually does. He holds it for a bit longer, with the referee trying to pry him off. He does so once Lana gives the signal. Just who can last five minutes with the “Bulgarian Brute”? BRAY WYATT W/ THE WYATT FAMILY VS. DEAN AMBROSE W/ THE SHIELD; The Shield officially threw down the gauntlet on Main Event, demanding a match against the Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt has refused to respond to the challenge, but is more than ready for Dean Ambrose tonight. It’s an interesting matchup here, as neither guy can be considered the most stable of minds. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan try to get involved after Ambrose scores with a big rebound lariat, but Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns stare them down to prevent this from happening. Ambrose goes up top but misses an elbow drop. Wyatt is quickly up and hits an impactful cross body. He stares out at the Shield with a big grin as he kisses Ambrose on the forehead before hitting Sister Abigail, which is enough to put Dean down. Bray Wyatt defeats Dean Ambrose in 9:46!Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins quickly enter the ring, as Bray Wyatt backs away to his corner, where Erick Rowan and Luke Harper have entered. The crowd buzzes as it looks like these guys may go to war right now, despite the Wyatts having a numbers advantage. Instead, the Wyatt signature hits and when the lights come back on, they are gone, leaving the Shield alone in the ring.

7/5/14 Edition
- Currently, there is talk of having a record three Hell in a Cell matches at this year's Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View. No word quite yet on who exactly will be involved but it said that at least two championships will be defended in these matches.
- Since her debut on the main roster, Paige has quickly become the most popular active Diva. The only Diva who outsells her in merchandise since then is AJ Lee. With that rise in popularity and prominence, officials are considering dedicating a show to the girls. Not a weekly show, but a special edition of Smackdown or Main Event that would be an all-Divas episode.
- A fair amount of past legends and Hall of Famers are in line to host Raw and get involved in major storylines this Summer and Fall. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Trish Stratus, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho and a few others are all rumored to be appearing within the next few weeks. Some may even be training to get back into the ring for a match or two.
- Despite only working two matches so far this year, Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled to have at least three more before the year's up. That would make it the most he's had since returning in 2012. His contract is set to expire by WrestleMania next year and the WWE is working vigorously to sign him to a new deal in hopes that he doesn't return to the UFC.

Monday Night Raw: July 7th, 2014 – Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Before the weekly Raw intro video, we see a video package that recaps the events of last Monday night between the Shield and the Wyatt Family. Once the show actually begins, we don’t get pyro or introductions, just the theme music of the Shield as the fans in Montreal leap to their feet. They come in through the crowd, clearly meaning business once they enter the ring. Roman Reigns surprisingly grabs the microphone first, keeping it short and to the point as always. “We told you what we wanted on Main Event last week. Wyatt Family…get your asses out here now!” The fans cheer, though it’s a few seconds before the Wyatt Family appears on the titantron. “Montreal…we’re here.” The Wyatts come out to the stage, where Erick Rowan places the rocking chair for Bray Wyatt to sit down, while Luke Harper flanks them. Bray has a microphone and begins by saying that he heard the Shied loud and clear on Main Event. “You boys want us again, but did you not learn from experience? You simply cannot defeat us. This is a losing battle, just like the one Dean Ambrose fought on Smackdown.” Ambrose takes a step forward but Reigns and Seth Rollins hold him back. Bray continues by claiming that there is no reason for the Wyatts to face them again. “I am an evolved mind, I don’t look back and neither does my family. Why would we step into a war with the three of you again? There is no point, there is no purpose.” Rollins speaks, being the calmest of the three Shield members. He repeats most of what was said on Main Event, about how the Wyatt Family is the only team the Shield has never defeated and that the three of them will do whatever it takes to get another match. Bray ponders this and begins to laugh. He says that he has an idea. “You see this mind of mine doesn’t work in the same way that the mind of a normal person works. We will give you your match, on one condition. Roman, you have to beat me at Battleground.” Roman quickly takes the microphone and agrees, but Bray isn’t done. “Oh Roman, you see I’m not going to do this without getting something in return. So here’s my proposal. If you win, you get your match. But if I win…oh yes, if I win, then you must become a member of our family.” Roman thinks it over, as Ambrose and Rollins discuss it with him. While they are huddled up, the camera catches Bray Wyatt smiling from ear to ear. The Shield turn back and Roman agrees to the stipulation. Bray starts to laugh again as we cut to commercial with our first match for Battleground set.
NON-TITLE MATCH: THE USOS VS. ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER; Following the commercial break, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are in the ring, awaiting their opponents. When the Usos are announced, the fans pop knowing that this will be an intriguing matchup. Harper and Rowan use their power to take some control, isolating Jey Uso. They work through a commercial break before the hot tag comes to Jimmy Uso. He comes in hitting the powerful duo with everything he has. At this point, Randy Orton and Batista begin to stroll to the ring. Jimmy delivers a loud superkick to Rowan before climbing to the top. Before he leaps, he notices Batista and Orton. This slight distraction allows Rowan to hit the ropes, knocking Jimmy down. Harper comes in with a huge discus lariat and picks up the win. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeat the Usos in 15:40!The WWE Universe boos loudly as Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are announced as the winners. Batista and Randy Orton smirk, knowing that they just caused the Usos to lose. However, they seem to realize that a win for Harper and Rowan may have moved them ahead in the tag team ranks. “King, you’ve got to imagine that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are in line for a future Tag Team Title shot” says Michael Cole.
ADAM ROSE VS. HEATH SLATER w/ 3MB; To those that have never seen Adam Rose’s entrance, it was quite the spectacle here. The Exotic Express was rather huge, leaving Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal rather surprised and appalled. Once the match starts though, Rose proves to the main roster audience that he’s not one to be overlooked. He reels off some impressive offense before putting away Slater using the Party Foul. Adam Rose defeats Heath Slater in 2:22!
The party starts back up as the Exotic Express dance around the ring. Adam Rose crowd surfs into them and they carry him up the stage, leaving 3MB looking on in disgust. It’s a successful debut for Adam Rose, as he begins his WWE career 1-0.
Returning, Alexander Rusev and Lana are standing in the middle of the ring as the crowd boos loudly. Lana says some of the same things that she said on Smackdown last week, claiming that Alexander Rusev is the “Super Athlete” and is unstoppable. “None of these puny pretenders have been able to last five minutes with the Bulgarian Brute. That is embarrassing and the entire WWE roster should be ashamed of themselves. Everyone from has-beens like Jim Duggan and the Patriot to a legend like Booker T to strong men like Mark Henry. They all try and they all fall to Rusev. Who wants to be next to fail so miserably?” There is silence for a bit until the lights suddenly dim and a relatively unfamiliar theme hits. Out onto the stage steps the NXT Champion Adrian Neville. A good chunk of the crowd come to their feet as he walks down to the ring with the title draped on his shoulder. When he enters, Lana gives a laugh and asks if he’s really out here to fail. He responds saying that he’s out here because he’s the NXT Champion which means he’s one of the best in the world. “So I’m not here to fail, I’m out here to take your $5000 and survive 5 minutes with you.” The crowd pops as he points to Rusev. Rusev seems enraged by this as Lana exits so the match can begin. ALEXANDER RUSEV OPEN INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. ADRIAN NEVILLE; There is a buzz in the air as the fans are hoping Adrian Neville can be the one to shut up Alexander Rusev and Lana for once. Rusev clubs away on him, proving that he can be incredibly scary when he’s angry. Neville uses a back spin kick to wind him, following it with a few different strikes. He wows the audience with a standing shooting star press for two. He looks up at the clock before showing off another huge feat by dead lifting Rusev from the mat with a huge German suplex for two again. Lana looks extremely worried at ringside. Neville climbs to the top for the Red Arrow, but misses. With the clock ticking towards five minutes, Rusev stands over Neville as Lana screams “CRUSH!” He sets for the Accolade, only for Neville to slip out from under and dropkick him, sending him outside. With Rusev outside, the clock ticks down to the five minute mark and the bell rings. Adrian Neville wins the Alexander Rusev Open Invitational in 5:00!
Montreal erupts as someone has finally successfully won the Alexander Rusev Open Invitational. Adrian Neville makes a stunning debut here as the referee raises his hand. Lana is beside herself at ringside, trying to snatch back the $5000 from the timekeeper, but it’s to no avail. Neville is handed the money and celebrates by giving some of it away to the fans. Rusev is livid when he realizes what happened, but Neville is already up the ramp and nearly gone by then.
An ad is shown to remind everyone that every episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event from the 1980’s is now available on demand on the WWE Network! CESARO AND DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. KANE AND SHEAMUS; Two of the bigger new feuds in the company come together in a tag team match. Kane has been a thorn in Dolph Ziggler’s side since costing him the United States Championship, meanwhile Cesaro wants nothing more than to win the Intercontinental Title from Sheamus. The Authority members isolate the smaller Ziggler throughout, but once he makes the big tag to the “Swiss Superman”, all hell breaks loose. He comes in firing on all cylinders, hitting both Kane and Sheamus with big uppercuts. He goes for the Neutralizer on Sheamus, but the IC Champion gets free and tags in Kane. Kane goes for a Chokeslam, but Cesaro counters and hits the Neutralizer on him for the three. Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler defeat Kane and Sheamus in 10:51!The team of Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler have their hands raised in victory, picking up some momentum and a pretty big win over the Authority. Sheamus looks on from outside, enraged as Cesaro points to him and signals around his waist.
Backstage, Renee Young is standing by with the man that just did the unthinkable, Adrian Neville. She takes us to a recap of him lasting the five minutes of the Alexander Rusev Open Invitational and asks him for his thoughts right now. Neville responds, “I would say that this is unbelievable but that’s not the case. Renee, I’ve been working my ass off for years to get to where I am, and Rusev’s challenge gave me the opportunity I needed. Not only am I the reigning NXT Champion, but I’m here on Raw to stay. Prepare to take flight everyone, the Man That Gravity Forgot has arrived.” CODY RHODES W/ GOLDUST VS. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA; In the past few weeks, Cody Rhodes has reinvigorated his career by winning a series of singles matches. Tonight, he steps into the ring against someone who has been on the opposite track as of late. Fandango knows of his struggles, opting for some quick flash pins that aren’t enough to score the win. Fandango tries a spinning heel kick, but Cody is able to sidestep it. He follows with an uppercut similar to his brother’s, before hitting the Disaster Kick to win. Cody Rhodes defeats Fandango in 3:34!As Goldust enters the ring to congratulate his brother, Layla looks on with a saddened look on her face. Cody Rhodes runs to the second rope and poses, picking up even more steam. “It really seems like Cody Rhodes has turned a corner. We’ll see if Goldust can pick up a singles win later tonight, as he tries to get on track as well” says JBL.
We cut to see Bad News Barrett in the back, and he cuts a promo into the camera. He says that now that he’s Mr. Money in the Bank, everyone knows that he’s going to be a future WWE World Heavyweight Champion. “However, I don’t want people to forget that I am still your United States Champion. To remind you of how great I am, the Authority has given me permission on their day off to make an announcement. Tomorrow night on the WWE Network’s Main Event, there will be a Battle Royal. The winner gets a shot at this title at Battleground. It is open to everyone and normally, the winner would be a happy man. BUT I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS! You see, whoever wins will run right into a Bull Hammer and I will still be your United States Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank.”
Returning, the Bella Twins are shown preparing for their match later. Summer Rae enters and tells them that they need to let her handle the heavy lifting tonight because she is the star of the team and the one who will take the Women’s Title from Paige. She flips her hair and walks off, as Brie Bella gets up to confront her. Nikki stops her, telling her to chill. “Yes, Summer is rude and kind of a bitch, but you know what? She’s in line to get the next Women’s Title shot. We need to get back to worrying about the Bellas and not focusing on what these people want.” Brie goes to protest but Nikki cuts her off and just says that Brie knows she’s right.
As always, when the music of Daniel Bryan hits, the crowd comes to life. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion walks to the ring, shouting “Yes” at the top of his lungs along with the fans. He enters the ring and grabs a microphone, waiting for the crowd to die down. He thanks them for their continued love and reciprocates it, telling them that he does what he does for them. “Last week, someone issued a challenge to me. I wasn’t able to respond them, but I’d like to do so right now. So please, will you join me Punk?” After a few seconds of silence, “Cult of Personality” hits and CM Punk arrives to a major reaction from the crowd. He enters the ring and stands across from Bryan. Bryan speaks, saying that he heard his challenge loud and clear last week, but Sheamus beat him to responding. “I’m going to cut straight to the point. I accept your challenge and will gladly put my WWE World Heavyweight Title on the line against you at Battleground.” The crowd roars for this as Punk says that he knew Bryan would accept. “That’s one of the reason why we’ve been friends for so long. I know that you love competition, which is my addiction.” Punk offers a handshake that Bryan accepts, only to hear someone shouting “hey”. They look around and see Kane on the titantron. The Director of Operations is still holding his neck after his match earlier but addresses the two men anyway. “The both of you have been thorns in the side of the Authority, but I think that a title match between you is indeed, best for business. Hell, maybe the two of you will just destroy each other and we’ll be rid of you. However, we need a main event for tonight so I’ve come up with one while Triple H and Stephanie are away. Tonight, you two will team up and face the team that put Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston on the shelf last week, Batista and Randy Orton.” Punk and Bryan look at each other, knowing that they will team tonight but be opponents at Battleground.
CHRIS JERICHO VS. THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; During the entrances, a recap airs of the return of both men last week, which ended with Chris Jericho drilling Miz with a Codebreaker. Miz yells at Jericho before the bell, shouting something about not messing with the “money maker”. Jericho looks at the fans before turning to Miz and slapping him across the face. This leads to the actual match, where Jericho is in firm control until Miz pokes him in the eye. Minutes later, Miz tries the Skull Crushing Finale, but Jericho slips free and trips him up. He tries the Walls, but Miz kicks him off. They fight in the corner, but from out of nowhere, Miz kicks Jericho low, causing the DQ. Chris Jericho defeats the Miz via disqualification in 5:34!The Miz doesn’t let up though, following the low blow with some vicious clubs to the back. Summer Rae eggs on the attack from the outside as Miz pounds away on Chris Jericho. He lifts him up and plants him with the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz stands over Jericho as Summer caresses his chest. He shouts down that he’s the real mega star around the WWE. THE BELLA TWINS AND SUMMER RAE VS. PAIGE, EMMA AND NATALYA; Despite having two teammates, the focus in the match is on Paige. The Bella Twins and Summer Rae have all made it known that they want to take the Women’s Title from her and bring back the Divas Title. Emma and Natalya get short in ring time, but Paige does the bulk of the work. She takes a bit of a beating from her opponents before tagging in Natalya, who hits some power offense. She runs into a big kick from Summer Rae, who then hits the Summer Crush. She hooks the leg and picks up the victory. The Bella Twins and Summer Rae defeat Paige, Emma and Natalya in 4:12!
The bell rings and the crowd boos as Summer Rae impresses with another win. The Bella Twins don’t really celebrate with her though as Nikki is instead talking to Brie in the corner. Summer blows a kiss at Paige, who responds by snatching a microphone from ringside. “You think you’re a big shot don’t you? You think that because you were handpicked to star in a movie, you deserve to hold this title? Go ahead and give it your best shot. You and me at Battleground. Do you accept?” Summer nods her head as the Bellas look on in a sour mood. ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. GOLDUST W/ CODY RHODES; As we saw earlier tonight, Cody Rhodes has been finding success running on his own. Goldust has had the opposite luck. This match takes on new meaning when Michael Cole informs us that both Alberto Del Rio and Goldust, along with Cody, will be in the number one contender’s battle royal tomorrow night on Main Event. Goldust starts hot but runs into trouble when Del Rio targets the arm. He is able to ride that arm work to victory when he forces Goldust to tap out to the Cross Armbreaker. Alberto Del Rio defeats Goldust in 4:38!As the bell rings, Alberto Del Rio doesn’t let the move go. He wrenches back even further, causing Goldust to scream loudly. Cody Rhodes slides into make the save, but Del Rio sees and breaks the hold, slipping out of the ring just out of Cody’s grasp. He stares Alberto down before turning to check on his brother. “I haven’t this vicious side of Alberto Del Rio before. That was completely uncalled for” exclaims Michael Cole.
Following an advertisement for the upcoming WWE Network this Saturday in Osaka, Japan, we are taken to Michael Cole. He reminds us of what Batista and Randy Orton did to Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam last week, showing footage. “Folks, we have now been informed that Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam will return live in Osaka, Japan this Saturday morning and they will be taking on Orton and Batista once again!”
At this moment, the music of Bo Dallas plays as the inspirational Superstars jogs out to the stage. A spotlight comes down on him as he stays up there, allowing the fans to boo. He starts by saying that he appreciates them “bo-ing” instead of booing. “You all just saw that footage of what happened to Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam last week. It was indeed a sad day in history of this business. Those are two great, hardworking Superstars and for that to happen to them…well it’s gotta be a pain in the neck.” He gets a chuckle out of the crowd for that remark, but they go back to booing when he declares their careers finished and asks for a moment of silence for them. He gets down on one knee, “Tebowing”, as we get about 20 seconds of attempted silence. You can clearly some fans during this, which upsets Bo. He angrily looks at them before telling them that what they did was disrespectful. “You people really stink, you know that?” Bo throws down his microphone and storms to the back. BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON VS. CM PUNK AND DANIEL BRYAN; Talk about your blockbuster main event matches. Considering the status of the four Superstars involved, this is one of the more star studded matches possible. Commentary mentions that with a WWE Championship match around the corner, there could be some tension between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. That actually happens to not be the case at all because their friendship comes into play and they work very well together. Batista and Randy Orton work just as well and have Bryan in trouble. The Champion is able to tag in Punk who comes in hot. He seems to be on the verge on the victory when he nails Orton with the GTS. Batista runs in, bringing Bryan in. A miscommunication leads to Punk and Bryan bumping into each other. Batista clotheslines Bryan out, while Orton shakes off the cobwebs and this Punk with an RKO to end the match. Batista and Randy Orton defeat CM Punk and Daniel Bryan in 11:03!
Batista and Randy Orton stand tall, raising their arms in the air after picking up another win as a tag team. Not only do they look ready for Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam in Japan, but they are looking more and more like the top threats to the Usos and Tag Team Titles. Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan looks on disappointed. CM Punk rolls outside and stares at him, seemingly in disbelief at their loss. “Despite working well as a unit for most of the match, one hiccup has put CM Punk and Daniel Bryan in a position they aren’t used to…losing” says JBL.
