The official Pay-Per-View begins with a video package. It seems to have sort of a Hollywood theme to it as we clips of the big matches of the night, set to “Keep on Keeping on” by Travie McCoy. There are shots of Roman Reigns punching the ground with Walk of Fame stars, Paige walking away from an exploding car and Daniel Bryan chanting “Yes” in front of the Hollywood sign. “The Cerebral Assassin vs. The Best in the World”, “The Divas vs. The Women”, “Hounds of Justice vs. The Eaters of Worlds” and “The Beast vs. The Franchise vs. The Beard” are all highlighted tags for some of the high profile matches tonight. Cutting to the arena, a pyro display goes off and Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome the viewers to the show. The camera pans over the sold out and rocking Staples Center in Los Angeles. They are hot for our opening contest.
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP – THE USOS (C) VS. BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON; The challengers arrive to the Evolution theme after the Usos are already in the game. “You see that John? The intimidation factor is evident as the challengers are making the champions watch their entrance and come out to legendary music” says Michael Cole. The Usos however, do their best to not show if they’re intimidated, as we get us some “FLYING USOS” right during Evolution’s entrance. The brawl ensues on the outside of the ring, with the two teams trading blows back and forth. Once things re-enter the ring, the match calms down into a more traditional tag team encounter. Due to their chemistry and experience as brothers, the Usos hold serve in the early goings. However, Batista and Randy Orton are former multi-time World Champions and don’t stay down for long. Jey gets worked over by the challengers, who cut the ring in half and pick him apart. Backbreakers, stomps and even a spear is used by Batista on him, though Jey is able to survive that. They continually cut off Jey’s attempts to tag in his brother until he’s able to lay out Orton with a superkick. “This is Jey’s chance” exclaims Jerry Lawler. Jey takes advantage of that chance, diving to tag in Jimmy. He comes in hot, hitting both Batista and Orton with big shots. Jey stays in to hit Batista with a double superkick. Jimmy covers but Orton is able to break up the pin at the very last split second! Jimmy goes right back on the offensive, trading blows with Orton in the corner. Jey charges at Batista on the other side, but is met with a huge spinebuster. He goes after Jimmy and Evolution looks for the Batista Bomb/RKO combo. Jimmy is able to slip free of the “Animal” and hit a superkick. Orton runs in but Jimmy nails a Samoan drop. The crowd comes to their feet as he climbs to the top for the big splash. He flies off, but Orton pops up and catches him in a huge RKO! He lays over Jimmy, covering to secure the victory and the gold. Batista and Randy Orton defeat The Usos to win the WWE Tag Team Championship in 12:01!The Staples Center boos loudly as Batista and Randy Orton have found a way to dethrone the Usos. Jimmy and Jey won those titles back on March 3rd, realizing a childhood dream, but that has ended tonight. Batista and Orton are given the titles and hold them high in the air, basking in the heat from the audience. They leave up the ramp while the camera catches the absolutely distraught faces of the former champions, who were unable to reach six months with the gold. As Batista and Orton hit the entrance, the music changes and Bad News Barrett comes out. He congratulates them, shakes their hands and continues for the next match.
WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – BAD NEWS BARRETT (C) VS. ALBERTO DEL RIO; “The night for the Authority is off to a good start and Mr. Money in the Bank is looking to continue that” says JBL. The reaction from the WWE Universe for the “Mexican Aristocrat” is the loudest it has been since he targeted the United States Championship. They lock up to start things, with Bad News Barrett using his power to shove Alberto Del Rio down. He does this two more times, his confidence clearly growing with each. He tries a fourth time, but Del Rio is ready, slipping to the side and applying a hammerlock. “Look at how Del Rio sets up his offense, Michael. Right to the arm” says JBL. Del Rio does exactly that, focusing on the arm at any open opportunity. Barrett does his best to prevent that but attacking Del Rio and keeping him on his toes. Del Rio tries for the Cross Armbreaker multiple times but Barrett always has it scouted. Barrett hooks Del Rio and plants him with the Wasteland but is only enough for a near fall. Barrett argues with the referee but notices an opening and turns his elbow pad inside out. He connects on a vicious Bull Hammer, but Del Rio rolls to the outside before Barrett can cover. “That’s a veteran move right there Maggle” says JBL. Barrett, pissed off, follows and rolls Del Rio inside. He pins but Del Rio is able to get a shoulder up due to the time he spent resting outside. Barrett calls for it one more Bull Hammer, but Del Rio catches it and rolls over into the Cross Armbreaker! Barrett clasps his hands together to prevent it from fully being latches on, but Del Rio clubs his hands to break his grip. Once that happens, Del Rio wrenches back and Barrett has no choice but to tap out. Alberto Del Rio defeats Bad News Barrett to win the WWE United States Championship in 7:57!Alberto Del Rio releases the hold and lays on his back while the WWE Universe cheers. He is handed the United States Title and gets to his feet, holding it high in the air. The night went from amazing for the Authority, to one of terror as Mr. Money in the Bank has now lost the US Title. Barrett holds his arm and holds his briefcase as he furiously exits while Del Rio celebrates.
Going backstage, Tom Phillips introduces his guests at this time, Paige and Trish Stratus. They appear on screen to a massive pop from the fans and Tom asks them for their thoughts heading into tonight’s match, especially after the Bellas attacked Paige on Smackdown. Trish speaks first, saying that she is sorry that she wasn’t there for Paige on Friday, but she’s here tonight and they are going to show the Bellas what two women can do to two Divas. Paige chimes in, saying that she grew up with some of the toughest training in history, so it’s going to take more than a sneak attack from the Bella Twins to take her off her game. ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. CHRIS JERICHO; These two come face to face and Chris Jericho straight up slaps Alexander Rusev. “Whoa! Nobody has ever shown that level of disrespect to the undefeated Bulgarian” says JBL. Rusev takes obvious offense to this and begins to hammer on Jericho, backing him into the corner. Jericho is able to duck a big blow and hit an enziguri, taking Rusev off his feet and causing him to roll to the apron. When he gets up, Jericho greets him with a springboard dropkick, starting very hot and overwhelming Rusev. Jericho hypes the crowd as Lana talks things over with Rusev, giving him instructions. Once back inside, Rusev is able to gain the upper hand and focuses his assault on Jericho’s back. He goes for the Accolade after a few minutes, but Jericho slips out from under and trips him into a pinning combination for two. “My lord, how close were we to seeing Rusev’s first loss?” asks Michael Cole. They get up at the same time and Jericho again trips him up, going for the Walls of Jericho! He struggles to turn him over but finally does and the crowd erupts. He rears back but Rusev is able to overpower him and send him forward onto the second rope. With the referee not looking, Lana uses this opportunity to slap Jericho across the face. He turns around right into a big thrust kick from Rusev. Rusev signals for the end as Lana screams “CRUSH”! He applies the Accolade but Jericho is too close to the ropes and gets his foot on it. Rusev stalks Jericho and tries another thrust kick, but Jericho ducks and hits the Codebreaker. Jericho is too hurt to cover instantly, giving Rusev plenty of time to kick out. Jericho looks for the Lionsault but Rusev avoids it. Jericho lands on his feet and charges, but Rusev catches him in a big spinning slam. He then locks in the Accolade, this time in the center of the ring. Jericho submits. Alexander Rusev defeats Chris Jericho in 8:55!The crowd boos loudly as Lana enters the ring to give Alexander Rusev the signal to stop. He releases the submission and stands side by side with her, looking out at the negative response from the WWE Universe. He stands over Chris Jericho’s body and pumps his arms in the air, earning even more boos. If a legend like Chris Jericho couldn’t stop Rusev, who can?
Michael Cole now sends us to a video package, set to “Wastelands” by Linkin Park. It starts by showing clips from the epic war that the Shield and the Wyatts waged at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, won by the Wyatt Family. They went at it once more on Raw a few weeks later, with the Wyatt Family again winning. The Shield shifted their focus to the Authority, winning against them on three straight PPVs before coming back around to the Wyatts. After a loss to Bray at Battleground, Roman Reigns was forced to join the Wyatt Family. It was the hardest few weeks of his life, but he preserved and had his brothers, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, win him his freedom, setting the stage for this battle. NO HOLDS BARRED: THE SHIELD VS. THE WYATT FAMILY; Tension is high in the Staples Center as these powerhouses stand across the ring from each other. The instant the bell rings, they charge and start to brawl. “This is the pier six brawl that we all expected” says Jerry Lawler. The fight spills outside, where Roman Reigns whips Erick Rowan into the guardrail. He seems to gear up for an early spear but Luke Harper stops him with a huge lariat. Seth Rollins is trading blows on the other side of the ring with Bray Wyatt. Bray backdrops him into the crowd, but turns right into Dean Ambrose attempting a suicide dive. Unfortunately for Dean, Bray catches him and goes right into a massive Sister Abigail into the guardrail. The crowd is roaring at this non-stop action. Harper and Rowan start to clear off the Spanish announce table, but Rollins leaps from the apron onto them, stopping their plans. Rollins does his best to beat on them, but they are too much for him to overcome. Reigns tries to interfere but Bray whacks him in the back with a steel chair. With Reigns and Ambrose incapacitated, the Wyatt Family now focus on Rollins. “This could certainly end badly for the Shield” says JBL. With the table cleared off, Rowan and Harper stand on one and hoist Seth up. They then double Chokeslam him through the other one, causing the fans to chant “holy sh*t”. Bray directs traffic, telling them to bring Reigns inside. He picks Reigns up and says something to him before kissing him on the forehead and setting up for Sister Abigail. Before he can nail it though, Ambrose is back in with a kendo stick and strikes Bray in the back. Rowan charges but he gets it in the ribs and Harper takes one in the middle of his skull. “The Lunatic Fringe is on the loose” exclaims Michael Cole. Reigns begins to stir and goes outside to get a table. Ambrose continues to randomly hit his opponents with the kendo stick while Reigns sets it up in the corner. Dean picks up Bray and stands him in front of the table while Reigns punches the mat, setting up for the spear. However, from out of nowhere, Bray reaches into his pocket for something, turns and a fireball shoots out at Ambrose. He falls to the mat and rolls outside. A stunned Reigns is easy pickings for Harper to lay out with a big boot. Bray shouts, “IT’S GOING TO END WITH YOU AND I ROMAN! IT HAS TO!” He holds him for Sister Abigail again but this time Seth Rollins, seemingly back from the dead, is up and springboards in with a knee strike to Bray. Ambrose is up, as the fireball seemed to have missed him and he plants Rowan with Dirty Deeds as Seth hits Harper with the Curb Stomp. Bray looks around, alone against the two Shield members. Ambrose brings a bag inside the ring and pours thumbtacks out onto the mat. Bray looks at them and shockingly laughs. With him by the table in the corner, Reigns starts to get up and runs in, spearing him through it! Rollins and Ambrose throw their hands up, signaling for the end. The three Shield members hoist Bray up and triple powerbomb him onto the thumbtacks! Reigns gets the three to finish this. The Shield defeat the Wyatt Family in 13:51!Cheers rain down from the crowd as the Shield stand tall over the Wyatt Family, finally avenging their losses at Elimination Chamber and Battleground. All three men are battered, but they are victorious. Roman Reigns, holding his ribs, sticks his fist out over Bray Wyatt. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins join him in a sign of unison. “The Shield have now officially beaten everyone. They are the greatest faction in the history of this business” says JBL.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – SHEAMUS (C) VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; Dolph Ziggler leans in for a collar and elbow tie-up, but Sheamus just pushes his head down and clubs him in the back a few times. He tosses Dolph onto the apron and begins to pound away with the Beats of Bodhran, causing Dolph to fall to the floor. Sheamus taunts the crowd while the referee starts to countout Dolph. “Sheamus has come out looking like a total monster” says Michael Cole. The referee reaches nine before Dolph is able to crawl back in, so Sheamus goes right back on the offensive, hammering away on Ziggler. He connects on some rough moves, like a backbreaker, White Noise and even locks in a cloverleaf. Sheamus is in firm control until Dolph counters him into a major jumping DDT for two. “Dolph Ziggler looks like he’s poised to make a comeback” says Jerry Lawler. However, Sheamus is prepared for everything and always has an answer, stopping him with powerful offense at every turn. When he nails the Irish Curse backbreaker, it looks like it’s going to be over but Ziggler gets his shoulder up. Sheamus gives a slight chuckle, finding it funny that Dolph wants to continue this. He stands back and beats his chest for the Brogue Kick. He goes for it and nails it. The crowd groans when he covers, but Dolph manages to put his foot on the bottom rope. Now, Sheamus is pissed. He picks up Dolph and tries another Brogue Kick, but Dolph dodges and leaps on his back into a sleeper hold. Sheamus tries to fight but clearly starts to fade. He backs into the corner, trying to break the hold. On his third attempt to back in, Dolph lets go and Sheamus hits the corner on his own. As he bounces out, Dolph superkicks him, sending him back into the corner. He comes out once again and Dolph hits the Zig Zag, scoring the 1-2-3. Dolph Ziggler defeats Sheamus to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 10:06!The fans in Los Angeles rise to their feet as Dolph Ziggler has successfully ended the reign of terror that Sheamus had with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Dolph isn’t even able to get to his feet, as he took a vicious beating throughout this match until the late flurry. The title is laid on his waist as Michael Cole shouts, “Dolph Ziggler has done what Big E, Cesaro and even Roman Reigns was unable to do and that’s win the belt from Sheamus. What a 2015 Dolph has had, from winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, to the US Title and now the Intercontinental Title!” Dolph finally gets up and clutches the title to his chest, capturing the gold that a lot of his idols held when he was a child.
A video package now airs, showing some of Trish Stratus’ greatest moments, including her record seven reigns with the WWE Women’s Championship. We then see her retire, and the focus shifts to the Bella Twins and the Divas Championship. The Bella Twins talk about being Divas and their history as models is shown. Enter Paige, who is different than anything we’ve ever seen. Her title victory is shown before she brings back the Women’s Title because she’s the “Anti-Diva”. The video concludes with footage of the battles that these women have waged over the past number of weeks and Trish saying that even though she had a history as a model like the Bella Twins, she worked her ass off to be respected as a competitor in that ring and that Paige is someone in the division currently that she respects. Before the next match starts, shots of the celebrities in attendance are shown. We see Bill Simmons and Michelle Beadle of ESPN, Adam Sandler and Ronda Rousey. During Paige and Trish’s entrance, Paige flashes the “Four Horsewomen” hand signal to Ronda, who returns it. THE BELLA TWINS VS. PAIGE AND TRISH STRATUS; The “women” get a rather special entrance, with Paige and Trish wearing matching hoodies. With Trish paying homage to Paige, the Women’s Champion returns the favor, doing Trish’s trademark point and having confetti shoot from the aisle, similar to WrestleMania XIX. Once in the ring, Brie Bella locks up with Paige and tries to work the arm for a bit, but Paige outworks her and takes her to the mat. Brie gets Paige on the bottom rope and charges with a knee, but Paige dodges, gets on the apron and lays into Brie with multiple knees. She lets out a scream as Brie scurries to the corner and tags in Nikki. Nikki points to Trish, daring her to come in. “This is what the fans have been waiting for” says JBL. Trish tags in and Nikki charges, only for Trish to do her Matrix move to avoid it. Trish then hits her MaTrish Revolutions headscissors before connecting on a Thez press. The crowd is buzzing for Trish’s offense and she sends Nikki into the corner. She goes for the handstand hurricanrana in the corner, but Brie runs over and nails her to stop it. This allows the Bella Twins to work on Paige, using frequent tags and even some double team moves. After a few minutes of that, Trish is able to nail the Chick Kick but falls and is too hurt to pin. “Trish needs to make that tag” says Michael Cole. She reaches and is able to tag in Paige, who comes in hot, hitting both Bellas with shots. Paige ends her rally by locking Brie in the PTO! Nikki comes in to try and break it up but Trish is back and lays her out with another Chick Kick! Brie sees that there is no hope and taps. Paige and Trish Stratus defeat the Bella Twins in 7:29!A roar comes from the crowd as the Bella Twins have been shut up by the duo of Paige and Trish Stratus. Brie and Nikki roll out of the ring, licking their wounds, while Paige and Trish stay inside to celebrate. Trish asks for the title from ringside and tells Paige to turn around. She puts the title around Paige’s waist and raises her arm, signaling that she approves of Paige as the next face of the women’s division. Paige, overcome by tears, hugs Trish in response.
A commercial airs to promote Night of Champions, the next WWE Pay-Per-View spectacular, which can also be seen on the WWE Network for just $9.99. It comes your way September 21st, 2014 from Nashville, Tennessee!
A lengthy video package is now shown, dating back to CM Punk’s infamous “pipe bomb” promo, where he called Triple H Vince McMahon’s doofus son-in-law. We then see Triple H’s best friend, Kevin Nash, attack Punk at SummerSlam that year before Triple H would beat Punk at Night of Champions. Fast forward to clips of Triple H letting his power run mad and CM Punk walking out after the Royal Rumble. Punk would return at Payback in Chicago, setting his sights on the WWE Title and the Authority. When he was unable to beat Daniel Bryan for the belt at Battleground, he turned his full focus to the Authority and Triple H. Triple H was happy to accept, promising to bring the “Cerebral Assasin” tonight and not the COO. CM PUNK VS. TRIPLE H; After CM Punk makes his entrance, he is forced to wait in the ring, while Triple H gets an elaborate entrance, similar to what you would see at WrestleMania. Triple H is decked out in full Conan the Barbarian like gear. Once he enters the ring though, CM Punk wants to fight and goes right after him with right hands. Triple H fights right back though, dishing it out as well as he’s taking it. Punk manages to send HHH outside with a clothesline and looks for a suicide dive. HHH is ready for it though, avoiding it and Punk crashes into the guardrail in ugly fashion. “Oh my god, CM Punk could be seriously injured” says Jerry Lawler. HHH looks at Punk like he has him right where he wants him. He slides him inside the ring and begins to pick apart the “Best in the World”. He applies the Indian deathlock but Punk survives. Punk looks like he’s in trouble, until he rolls outside. Triple H follows and Punk backdrops him into the crowd. The brawl spills in there where Punk starts a rally. He reels off a series of shots that sends Triple H back over the guardrail to ringside. When they actually get back in the ring, Punk charges in with his knee strike/bulldog combination. He climbs to the top only to miss the big Macho Man elbow. HHH goes after Punk, but misses and wipes out the referee. Punk hits HHH with a uranage and locks in the Anaconda Vice! “Triple H is tapping” shouts Michael Cole. When Punk notices the official is down, he lets go and tries to wake him up. HHH sneaks behind him and hits a low blow. He then steps outside and pulls out the sledgehammer! He waits for Punk to get up and goes to strike but Punk ducks it and just hits HHH with a bunch of strikes of his own, including kicks and slaps. HHH drops the sledgehammer and Punk grabs it as the crowd rises but HHH kicks him in the stomach, snatches it back and hits Punk in the gut. He follows that with a Pedigree! He covers, as the official slowly crawls over and counts but Punk somehow kicks out. Triple H yanks the referee up and grabs him by the collar, livid at what just happened. He turns back to Punk and goes for a second Pedigree, but Punk spins out and gets him up for the GTS which is enough for the victory. CM Punk defeats Triple H in 16:14!CM Punk barely gets to his feet but raises his arms in the air, finally beating Triple H and, at least for one night, the Authority. Punk looks down at the sledgehammer while holding his ribs and points to it, as the fans cheer louder. Triple H starts to stir, getting to his feet and Punk is waiting for him. He levels him with the sledgehammer, laying out the COO of the company with a taste of his own medicine. Punk holds the sledgehammer up and shouts “BEST IN THE WORLD”.
Our final video package of the night comes on, starting with Extreme Rules 2012, where Brock Lesnar destroyed John Cena, only for Cena to overcome the odds and defeat him. Brock would continue to be a beast, and did the unthinkable at WrestleMania XXX, ending the Undertaker’s undefeated streak. Another person who did the unthinkable at WrestleMania XXX was Daniel Bryan, who defeated Batista, Randy Orton and Triple H in one night to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title. The focus then shifts to showing what has gone down between these three warriors over the past few weeks ever since Bryan handpicked Cena as his opponent for tonight only for the Authority to throw Brock into the mix as well. WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – DANIEL BRYAN (C) VS. BROCK LESNAR W/ PAUL HEYMAN VS. JOHN CENA; The three men stare across the ring at each other, the tension building in the arena. Knowing the kind of animal that Brock Lesnar is, Daniel Bryan and John Cena seem to try and corner him. Brock actually laughs and goes after both guys, hitting them with big shots. Eventually, the fact that two of the very best in the business are working him over, sends Brock to his knees. Cena would punch him and Bryan would kick him in the chest, successively. Bryan winds up for a big one, but Brock ducks, leaps up and hits a major Germans suplex on him. Cena comes at him too but also eats one. “This is reminiscent of this past Monday night when Brock suplexed John Cena into oblivion” says JBL. Brock continues this barrage, hitting both guys with two more Germans each and then does his signature jumping around, showing that he is in control. Brock goes for another, but this time Cena elbows his way out of it as Bryan gets up. The champ runs in and goes for the Busaiku Knee, Cena ducking and Bryan hitting Brock with it. Brock doesn’t even fall, but staggers into the corner. Bryan charges in for another but Brock catches him and belly to belly suplexes him to the outside of the ring. “Oh my god! Daniel Bryan could be seriously injured” says Michael Cole. The crowd looks nervous for Bryan as he hit the mat hard. Brock looks at his handiwork before turning to Cena, who trips him up and applies the STF! Brock struggles to get to the ropes, but Cena pulls him back. He goes for it again but Brock elbows out and manages to break the hold. Cena comes at Brock, who just lifts him up and plants him with a thunderous F5. He covers, but Bryan somehow manages to get in and make the save. He clearly doesn’t look well but manages to take the already horizontal Brock and put him in the Yes Lock! Brock seems close to tapping, but Cena breaks this hold. Cena and Bryan now trade blows, spilling to the outside. Cena puts Bryan on his shoulder for an AA outside, but Brock takes him out with a huge clothesline. Brock looks down at Bryan, smiling, before picking him up and giving him an F5 through the only remaining announce table! Bryan looks to be completely out cold and Brock turns his attention to Cena, rolling him in the ring. Brock gets close and Cena picks him up for an AA. Brock elbows out and then just hammers Cena with some stiff blows before hoisting him up and nailing a second F5! He covers and it keeps Cena down for the count. Brock Lesnar defeats Daniel Bryan and John Cena to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 16:32!It’s clear by the faces of the fans in the attendance, that this was their least favorite possible outcome. Paul Heyman snatches the two titles from ringside and brings them in the ring for his client. Brock Lesnar stands as Heyman gives them to him and he raises them in the air. Daniel Bryan is still not moving on the remnants of the announce table, while some officials have come out to check on him. John Cena is left lying in the middle of the ring as Brock and Heyman leave up the ramp. Brock has both titles on his shoulders as he looks back at the ring, smiling once more, before leaving.

The Beast is crowned!Less than 24 hours ago, Brock Lesnar bested John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan to win the belt. The "Beast" added to what many consider the most dominant year in WWE history after destroying Big Show at the Royal Rumble and ending the Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania. Tonight, both Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman will be in the arena and on hand for a special ceremony to present Brock Lesnar with a new championship belt. We also have word that Daniel Bryan was rushed to a local hospital and it is unsure if he'll be making it to Raw. The only way to find out is to tune into Raw tonight at 9PM!

Monday Night Raw: August 18th, 2014 – Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada After the WWE signature flashes across the screen, we see a video recap of SummerSlam, set to the Hollywood style theme that SummerSlam also opened with. This then moves into the “Tonight is the Night” weekly video package before Michael Cole, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Jerry Lawler introduce the episode. They promise to bring us the fallout and results of last night’s explosive SummerSlam Pay-Per-View spectacular and remind us that Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are here tonight.
The fans boo loudly as Stephanie McMahon steps through the curtain to kick off tonight’s episode of Raw. She comes to the ring alone and steps inside, grabbing a microphone and waiting for the boos to die down. She then speaks, hyping up how great she thought SummerSlam was, mainly focusing on the fact that Daniel Bryan is no longer the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and that Batista and Randy Orton are your new WWE Tag Team Champions. “Granted, there were some hiccups last night. Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler both got lucky in their wins over Authority members Sheamus and Bad News Barrett, but they will both undoubtedly be using their rematch clauses soon. The biggest issue coming out of last night was that CM Punk somehow found a way to beat my husband, Triple H. Not only that, but he chose to attack him after the match with a sledgehammer. Now, Triple H only signed on to be a competitor from bell to bell. Everything that happened during that time, was fair game. Once that closing bell rang however, he was no longer an active competitor and was again the COO, so you can bet your ass there will be some repercussions for CM Punk.” Stephanie then goes to leave, but stops and brings up the Divas match from last night, where the Bella Twins lost to Paige and Trish Stratus. “Now, I’ve made my feelings clear towards Paige and what she did to my Divas Championship, so I was more than disappointed last night. The fact that Paige had to go get one of the greatest Divas in history to help her, just goes to show the kind of champion that she is.” Stephanie is unable to continue because out comes the Women’s Champion herself, Paige. She talks as she comes down to the ring, saying that she didn’t need Trish to beat the Bella Twins before. “I don’t know if you remember, but Trish did say that after seeing the ‘Divas’ like the Bella Twins, she didn’t want to be called one again.” Paige enters the ring and comes close to Stephanie’s face, but the “Billionaire Baroness” tells her to back off. Paige says that she doesn’t care if Stephanie is unhappy with how she does things. “I’ve always been this way Steph and I’ll die before I change for you or anyone else. I’ve taken this belt and defended week in and week out against everyone you’ve thrown at me for the past three months and I will keep proving you wrong.” Stephanie says that she’s actually glad Paige is out here. “You see, since you didn’t defend your title last night, I think you need to defend it soon. So right now, there is actually going to be a number one contender’s match and we’ll see who your next opponent will be.” The music of the Bella Twins hits as both Brie and Nikki make their way out for our opening contest. NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH: BRIE BELLA VS. EMMA VS. NIKKI BELLA VS. SUMMER RAE; Paige stays at ringside, joining commentary for this match. The Bella Twins look across at each other and seemingly agree to work together to eliminate their opponents. Emma and Summer Rae have a bad history though and don’t do the same. The Bellas pick them apart, hitting some double moves. With both girls down, they look at each other and agree that it is time to fight. They go at it for a bit, until Summer joins the fray and knocks Brie down with a big boot. Emma and Nikki go at it and Emma looks to apply the Emma-lock. Unfortunately, Brie takes her down with a dropkick. Brie then takes Summer to the outside, allowing Nikki to drop Emma with the Rack Attack and pin her to become the top contender. Nikki Bella defeats Brie Bella, Emma and Summer Rae in 7:15!Nikki Bella quickly gets to her feet and raises her arms in the air. Brie Bella enters the ring, not showing any hard feelings and hugging her sister. She points at her before they turn to Paige and dare her to come in the ring. Paige, not being one to back down from a fight, enters the ring and goes after them. She does well for herself, but the numbers game is too much for her. Suddenly though, the music of AJ Lee hits as the former Divas Champion runs down to the ring to a thunderous ovation. “We haven’t seen AJ Lee since Paige beat her for the Divas Title back in May” says Michael Cole. The Bella Twins stop what they’re doing and step aside. Nikki points at Paige and tells AJ to get her. Instead of getting revenge for losing the title, AJ attacks Nikki, taking her down. Brie tries to pull her off but AJ sends her off the ropes and clotheslines her. The Bellas exit the ring, regrouping. AJ Lee helps Paige up, and when Paige sees who it is, she backs away. AJ and Paige stare each other down as we head to commercial.
Returning, Dolph Ziggler is backstage, with his newly won Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder. He is walking and stops when he sees someone off camera, who he is happy to see. The camera pans to reveal Ric Flair, to a pop from the crowd. They shake hands and Flair congratulates him on the win last night, saying it took a ton of guts to beat someone like Sheamus. Flair continues to talk at length about how big the win was for Dolph, who thanks him and says that he is ready for Sheamus to use his rematch clause at any time, even if that is tonight when he goes out to speak to the WWE Universe.
A recap airs of the war between CM Punk and Triple H last night. Due to that, Triple H is not at Raw tonight, but CM Punk is here and he should be out in front of the fans later tonight. We cut to Renee Young, who is standing by with the Usos. They are not in their usual hyped up good moods. She asks them about their tough loss last night at SummerSlam. Jey speaks first, saying that they dreamt about being the WWE Tag Team Champions their whole lives and they got to live the dream for a few months. “The thing is Renee…we weren’t ready for the dream to end.” Jimmy chimes in now, saying that being the Tag Team Champion is everything to them. “It took us so long to get there and we want that feeling back. Tonight, we’re cashing in our rematch clause and we’re winning back our titles.”
BIG SHOW VS. GOLDUST; We hear a ton of boos for Goldust after he attacked his brother after losing to him last night. He does his best to avoid the big shots from Big Show, but gets caught in a big backbreaker. As Show calls for the WMD, Goldust drops to his knees and delivers a low blow, giving the match away. Big Show defeats Goldust via disqualification in 1:39!A chorus of boos come in from the crowd as they don’t get to see a finish here. Goldust quickly exits the ring and starts to head up the ramp when a voice is heard calling his name. Goldust looks around before spotting his brother, Cody Rhodes, on the Titantron. He says that he hoped things between them would get resolved at SummerSlam, but they obviously didn’t. “After your attack last night, I have an injured groin and have to rest for a couple of weeks. When I come back though, we are going to end this Dustin. You and I, one more time.” Goldust shouts not to call him Dustin, but Cody cuts the video off, leaving him shouting at nobody. During this time, Big Show was able to make it to his feet and stand behind Goldust on the ramp. He taps him on the shoulder and when Goldust turns, knocks him out with the WMD.
Rob Van Dam is shown preparing for his match tonight when Kofi Kingston comes up to him. They shake hands and talk about their time as a tag team and how, while they came close to Tag Team gold, it is time to try their hands in singles competition tonight. RVD says that in their match tonight, “may the best man win.” Kofi agrees and heads off.
The ring is set up for a ceremony, with something set up in the middle of the ring, under a cover. The crowd pops as Brock Lesnar’s theme hits and he appears on the stage with Paul Heyman. He jumps around on stage before his pyro goes off and they walk to the ring. Paul Heyman has a wide smile on his face as they enter the ring and he introduces himself to the crowd. He reminds everyone that he is the advocate of the man standing beside him, Brock Lesnar. “The one in twenty-one and one. The Beast Incarnate. The Conqueror of not only the Streak, but also of Daniel Bryan and John Cena and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Last night, my client took both of his opponents and mauled them, he pulverized them, he victimized them and in the end, he earned this.” Heyman removes the cover and reveals the new WWE Championship, which is very similar to the previous one, only this one has the new stylized WWE logo. Brock picks it up and holds it high in the air, as the crowd gives a more mixed reaction now. Heyman continues, saying that Brock sent Daniel Bryan to the hospital and will now reign over the WWE with an iron fist. “John Cena has been THE MAN in the WWE for ten years but he couldn’t beat Brock Lesnar. Daniel Bryan defeated three future Hall of Famers in one night at WrestleMania and he couldn’t beat Brock Lesnar. Hell, not even the Undertaker at WrestleMania could beat Brock Lesnar. So I ask you, precious WWE Universe…who is going to dare stand in the way of the Beast? Who would even be a threat to take that title from him? I sure as hell know that I wouldn’t dare try it.” Before Heyman can continue, “Cult of Personality” hits as CM Punk steps through the curtain to a massive ovation from the fans. He walks down to the ring, as Heyman has a bewildered look on his face. Punk enters the ring and takes a microphone, telling Heyman that if he wanted to know who would step to the Beast, he needs to look no further. “I know you’re looking at me, questioning my sanity but let’s go over some facts. Who was the last person to actually defeat Brock? The answer is Triple H. Who beat Triple H last night at SummerSlam? I did. And let’s not forget about last year at SummerSlam.” Punk directs us to the Titantron where footage is shown from the match at SummerSlam last year between Brock and Punk. We see Punk come very close to defeating Brock, only for Paul Heyman to get involved. When the clip ends, Heyman’s face is in his palm. Punk says that he was going to beat Brock on that night. “I wanted a rematch Brock, and I’ve wanted one for a long time but you did what you always do after SummerSlam. You left until the time was convenient for a return. Then I left. In my absence you achieved some mighty stuff, but why don’t you try and conquer one more thing? Try to conquer the Best in the World at Night of Champions.” The crowd pops huge at this challenge. Brock comes face to face with Punk as Heyman speaks, saying that he doesn’t think Punk has earned the shot. “I mean, even Stephanie McMahon herself said earlier that you were going to be punished for what you did last night.” Brock reaches back and pushes Heyman’s microphone down. Heyman gives a shocked reaction to this but it’s nothing compared to his face when Brock, still staring a hole through Punk, nods his head up and down, accepting the challenge. Punk smirks, backing away knowing that he’s got exactly what he wanted.
A quick recap of still images from the match between Chris Jericho and Alexander Rusev is shown. We see that Rusev was able to defeat the future Hall of Famer. CHRIS JERICHO VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; A battle of two members of the esteemed Hart Family Dungeon tonight. Chris Jericho offers a handshake, but Tyson Kidd fakes it and wipes his hands through his hair instead. Jericho takes that offense and responds by slapping Kidd. This stays as a battle featuring a lot of strikes, which surprises many people. When it turns into more of a wrestling match, both guys go for their submission holds and counter each other. Jericho reaches the ropes on the Sharpshooter and both guys are tired. Tyson aggressively goes after him but walks right into a Codebreaker for the finish. Chris Jericho defeats Tyson Kidd in 11:13!The fans cheer as Chris Jericho is declared the winner following a hard fought battle against one of the most talented individuals in the WWE locker room. With a loss to Alexander Rusev last night, one has to wonder what is next for the Ayatollah of Rock n’ Rolla.
We go backstage to Tom Phillips, who is standing by with Alexander Rusev and Lana. They were watching the match on a monitor and Tom asks if Jericho getting back on the winning track concerns them. Lana gives a small, sarcastic laugh, saying that what Chris Jericho does no longer concerns them. “The Super Athlete, Rusev, defeated little Chris Jericho last night. He crushed him, just like he crushed Hulk Hogan and everyone put in front of him. Rusev now looks forward to other accomplished WWE Superstars as he proves that he is the greatest in history. BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. CHRISTIAN; Two of the five men to wear the WWE United States Championship this year both look to pick up wins here. The brand new United States Champion, Alberto Del Rio, is at ringside on commentary during this bout. Bad News Barrett seems to be trying to prove a point, as he abuses Christian with some stiff shots. Christian is one of the more resilient guys on the roster though, managing to start a rally. He scores some near falls with various moves, but runs into a Bull Hammer to suffer the loss. Bad News Barrett defeats Christian in 5:56!As he gets to his feet, Bad News Barrett looks directly at Alberto Del Rio. He is handed his Money in the Bank briefcase and demands a microphone. He speaks directly to Del Rio and points at the US Title, saying that it belongs to him. “You can enjoy your little time with the gold for now…BUT I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS! Next Monday night, right here on Raw, I will be evoking my rematch clause and take back my United States Title.” Barrett slams the microphone down and leaves, while Del Rio doesn’t seem to have any issues with this news.
Renee Young is standing by with all three members of the Shield. She asks them for their thoughts now that they’ve vanquished the Wyatt Family. Roman Reigns speaks, saying that getting rid of the Wyatt Family was the single most relieving thing he’s ever done. “It feels so good to have that weight off of our shoulders. As for what’s next? We don’t know just yet, but I know that I’m going to have my eyes on the main event. We’ve been in there with Evolution and we know what they’re capable of. I feel like my cousins might be in for some trouble tonight and I’m going to be watching that.” Seth Rollins is taken aback by that, telling Roman that they’re done with Evolution in the same way they’re done with the Wyatt Family. “I know that they’re family bug it’s not something we need to focus on.” Reigns and Seth go back and forth, not in argumentative fashion though. Dean Ambrose chimes in, saying that whatever they decide to do next, is for sure going to be impactful. He then leaves with his brothers, who still disagree.
Cutting to the ring, the crowd comes to their feet for the arrival of the brand new WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler. As he walks to the ring, we are shown still images of his come from behind victory over the “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus. Dolph gets in the ring and gets a microphone. The fans chant “you deserve it” at Dolph, who responds by saying that they are too kind and that the WWE Universe deserves it. “You all deserve a champion who is going to hold this title with the honor and respect that the likes of Bret Hart, Razor Ramon, Edge and other legends had. Unlike Sheamus, I will carry this title and defend it against any and all comers. This title is the most important thing to me.” Dolph talks about growing up and looking forward to Intercontinental Title matches even more than WWE Title matches because he loved everything about those matches. He believes that the holders of the Intercontinental Title were the guys who stole the show. “What better title for me to hold?” The crowd applauds this mention before Dolph brings up Sheamus. He mentions that he saw Bad News Barrett ask for his rematch earlier and expects Sheamus to do the same. He is cut off however, by the music of the NXT Champion, Adrian Neville. Neville has a microphone, saying that he believes everything that Ziggler just said and applauds what he’s trying to do with the title. “I don’t know if you saw though, but last night, there was a battle royal and I won. Because I won, I get to have a title match of my choosing, between that belt on your shoulder and the US Title. I’m pretty sure you’ve guessed by now, but I’m choosing the Intercontinental Title and I want my shot now.” The crowd cheers loudly as Dolph smiles and says that he wouldn’t be a fighting champion if he declined. WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. ADRIAN NEVILLE; They lock up and get right into the action, with a buzz in the air for this first time ever battle. Despite these two not having any personal issues, things get heated and they spill outside. While out there, Adrian Neville wows the audience with a 450 splash off the guardrail. He rolls Dolph inside for a near fall. Adrian climbs up, looking for the Red Arrow, but Ziggler runs up to the top and pulls Neville down into a super facebuster. Both men are down and worn out from the battle. They get up simultaneously and Dolph scores with a superkick and Fameasser but a very close two count. Dolph is up first now, stalking Neville with the Zig Zag in mind. He goes for it but Neville holds onto the top rope to block. With Ziggler down, Neville hits a standing shooting star press but again only gets two. He goes back up, and Ziggler follows. They trade right hands until Neville knocks him to the mat. He then connects with the Red Arrow and covers, but Ziggler somehow manages to get his foot on the bottom rope. Neville and the WWE Universe are in disbelief. He goes back up and tries again, but misses this time. Ziggler scores with the Zig Zag, finally ending this. Dolph Ziggler defeats Adrian Neville to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 20:26!After the match, as the crowd gives the performances from both guys a standing ovation, Dolph Ziggler and Adrian Neville are handed their respective titles. They get to their feet, stare across at each other and shake hands, giving us an absolute classic on Raw. This feel good moment is short loved though, as the former Intercontinental Champion Sheamus runs in from the back and Brogue Kicks Ziggler in the back of the head. Neville steps forward, but Sheamus also takes him down, being the freshest of the three men. The fans boo as Sheamus stands over Ziggler and shouts “THAT IS MY TITLE!”
Michael Cole now directs us to an update on the condition of the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan. Last night at SummerSlam, Bryan took an overhead belly to belly suplex from the ring to the floor and then was put through a table with an F5. Bryan was not involved in the decision but lost his title and was rushed to the hospital. We can confirm now that Bryan has suffered some internal injuries and three broken ribs. There is no exact timetable for Bryan’s return, but he will be forced to miss action for at least a month.
Renee Young is backstage once again, this time introducing her guest as the woman who returned earlier tonight, AJ Lee. The crowd pops when she hops into the picture. Renee questions where AJ has been for the past few months. AJ calls her April O’Neil and says that she’s been taking a break. “Plain and simple, I defended my Divas Championship for nearly a year and needed some time off. While I was gone Stephanie McMahon got her panties in a bunch, Trish Stratus returned, the Bella Twins acted like they were tough, there were arguments about Divas and women, and Paige pretty much beat everyone. That was all fine and entertaining but I’m back now and let me get one thing straight. I didn’t help Paige tonight, I just went after the Bella Twins. Believe me, my issues with our Women’s Champion are far from resolved.” KOFI KINGSTON VS. ROB VAN DAM; For the past few months, these two formed a successful tag team that even earned a Pay-Per-View Tag Team Championship match. Tonight, they look to find some success again in singles competition. As expected in a match between athletes of this caliber, there is a lot of high flying, fast paced offense, made more fun by the fact that they know each other so well. After a fair amount of back and forth wrestling, with neither guy gaining a real advantage, RVD manages to hit a big kick. He goes up top and scores with the Five Star Frog Splash to win. Rob Van Dam defeats Kofi Kingston in 4:28!Rob Van Dam is announced as the winner, to the delight of the audience. He celebrates for a moment before helping his former partner up. Kofi Kingston raises RVD’s arm, showing that even though they are no longer teammates, they are still friends. John Cena’s music plays to a mixed reaction as the man who was pinned by Brock Lesnar steps out onto the stage. He stays up there and has a microphone in hand. He starts to speak by saying that, while he appreciates the raucous crowd tonight, he is here to keep things short and sweet. First, he discusses the events of last night. “24 hours ago Daniel Bryan and I went to war with the Beast himself, Brock Lesnar. As myself and Bryan always do, we poured our heart into the match and gave it out all, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough. Bryan ended up in the hospital and, while I’m not there, I’m also not in any shape to compete right now. My original plan was to come out here tonight and issue a challenge to Brock for a shot at the title but it looks like CM Punk beat me to the punch.” Cena continues, going over just how physical and violent the match was. He ends the promo by saying that he just wanted to come out, address the fans and let them know what while he cannot compete right now, he will be back soon. “With Night of Champions on the horizon, I may be coming back for some kind of gold, you just never know.”
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP – BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON (C) VS. THE USOS; Before the introductions, this is announced to now have a no disqualifications stipulation. The Usos are confused by this, but not intimidated as they come out firing. With the stipulation, neither team even bothers to go through the formalities of tagging in and out, instead choosing to have a pier six brawl. Batista brings a steel chair into play, while the Usos bring a ladder out. After wailing on each other for minutes, Jimmy climbs up a ladder and comes off with a huge splash on Randy Orton. He covers but Batista breaks up what surely would have been a three count. They continue to brawl until Jimmy is hit with an RKO. Then, the champions get vicious as they put Jey through the announce table with their Batista Bomb/RKO combination. Back inside, they stalk Jimmy and Orton puts a steel chair his leg. He then stomps on it viciously, multiple times, clearly injuring Jimmy’s ankle. Batista hoists him up and nails a Batista Bomb, scoring the 1-2-3. Batista and Randy Orton defeat the Usos to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships in 11:37!Batista and Randy Orton aren’t content with the win, looking to somehow inflict more punishment on the former WWE Tag Team Champions. Batista gets a table from under the ring and Orton picks up the lifeless body of Jimmy Uso. Before they can do anything though, the music of the Shield plays. The crowd erupts as Roman Reigns comes down through the crowd, but unusually, he is alone. He enters the ring and Batista charges but he ducks and takes out Orton with a massive Spear! Reigns and Batista then get into a fistfight, during which time, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins finally come down the stairs and to the ring. Batista knocks Reigns back and sees them coming, so he quickly exits the ring and pulls Orton out. The Shield stand alone in the ring as Batista backs up the ramp, holding up Orton and the Usos are completely laid out.

Women's Championship match set!Last night, Nikki Bella won a Fatal Four Way match to become the number one contender for Paige's WWE Women's Championship. No date was set for the match until now. On the next WWE Pay-Per-View, Night of Champions, Nikki Bella gets her shot. Nikki has been a firm defender in the "Divas" name, while Paige prides herself on being the "Anti-Diva." Back at Money in the Bank, Paige successfully retained the gold against Nikki's sister Brie and teamed with Trish to beat both Bellas at SummerSlam. At Night of Champions, she looks to make the clean sweep.

WWE NXT: August 21st, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
To open the broadcast, we go straight to the weekly NXT intro video. This is followed by shots of the red hot crowd in Full Sail University, as Rich Brennan, Byron Saxton and Renee Young welcome everyone to tonight’s jam packed show. They inform us of the big six man tag main event pitting the Ascension and Corey Graves against the champions of NXT, Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn! MOJO RAWLEY VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; The fans are relatively hype for Mojo Rawley and chant “Nattie’s husband” at Tyson Kidd. While it irritates him, it doesn’t take him off his game, as he just takes out his frustrations on Rawley, beating him down and furiously attacking the leg. Kidd locks in the Sharpshooter to pick up the victory. Tyson Kidd defeats Mojo Rawley in 2:46!The music of Tyson Kidd plays as he celebrates a victory tonight. Natalya enters the ring to congratulate him, but he is more interested in making sure everything is about him. Over on the big tron, another Hideo Itami video package airs, showing him training in the Performance Center. It ends with the words “HIDEO ITAMI COMES TO NXT. TAKEOVER. 9/11/14.” The crowd roars at this news but Tyson Kidd is furious. He grabs a microphone and starts to complain about the Hideo vignettes always stealing his spotlight. “I just won a match but all you people care about is some unproven jabroni from Japan. Well how about I steal HIS spotlight at TakeOver. I am officially challenging Hideo Itami to a match at TakeOver. Let’s see how his style of ‘kick, kick, kick’ works when I snap his leg in the Sharpshooter.”
An advertisement airs to promote the WWE Shop. We see various Superstars, Divas and members of the WWE Universe wearing official WWE Shop merchandise, set to the song “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. The ring is now set up for a contract signing, with John “Bradshaw” Layfield overseeing things. He introduces everyone to the contract signing, saying that the ladies of NXT are changing the way we all look at women’s wrestling. He brings out the challenger at TakeOver, Sasha Banks. She comes out with something in her hand and receives a mixed reaction from the crowd. Charlotte is introduced next, letting out a loud “woo” before walking to the ring with the NXT Women’s Title around her waist. Once inside, she speaks first, saying that normally the challenge would speak here but she has to get something off of her chest. “When I arrived in NXT, everybody felt that I needed to be a big star because of my last name. Instead of doing that, I became a lackey to you and Summer Rae. That seemed like a fine idea at the time, but I soon realized that I needed to step out ahead of the two of you. So when it came time for someone to dethrone Paige, I stepped up. Not Summer Rae. Not you.” Charlotte says that she is going to prove, once and for all, that she is the “genetically superior” Diva and the best of the BFFs. She then signs the contract before Sasha Banks gets her turn to speak. She says that Charlotte talks a big game but still has a lot to prove. “Yea, you won the Women’s Title, but you forget that I was this close to winning it on that night too. I did the same thing you did when I beat Summer Rae. You need to understand that not only am I the baddest Diva in NXT, but the baddest in the entire WWE. I’m not some kid game like Bayley, I’m not some D-list movie star like Summer and I’m not intimidated by your last name. I’m going to beat you at TakeOver because I’m better than you. You are not ‘genetically superior, you’re just ‘generically basic’. To be the woman, you’ve got to beat the woman and that’s what I’m gonna do at Takeover.” Sasha gets the item she came out with, which turns out to be a stamp and she stamps her name on the contract. Charlotte picks up the microphone to respond but Sasha walks by her and leaves, leaving Charlotte alone.
A promo airs to hype an upcoming special on the WWE Network, chronicling the Shield’s rise to fame and their road to SummerSlam. See them deal with coming up through the ranks, their biggest matches, Roman Reigns joining the Wyatt Family, their reunion and so much more! Devin Taylor is now standing by with Evan Bourne. She asks him about the things that Solomon Crowe has said in recent weeks. Evan say that he can claim that he is “old” but that’s not the case at all. Evan says that he is in NXT to right the ship of his career and he has a whole lot left in the tank. “If Solomon Crowe has a problem with that, he knows exactly where to find me.” MASON RYAN VS. DASH WILDER; Since his return to NXT, Mason Ryan has made quick work of his opponents. Dash Wilder is a man with some potential, and he does get in some quick offense but Ryan shrugs it off. He then hits a backbreaker rack and it’s all over. Mason Ryan defeats Dash Wilder in 0:49!
The referee raises the hand of the winner and Mason Ryan once again looks like a complete dominant beast. Sooner than later, it seems like Mason Ryan is going to be on a collision course with the biggest stars in NXT.
Devin Taylor is now standing by with one of the team’s in tonight’s main event, Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The three champions in NXT get asked about their thoughts teaming up tonight. Adrian Neville speaks first, saying that his goal tonight is to get his hands on Corey Graves and that’s all. Sami Zayn takes the lighter route, saying that teaming together is really cool due to their pasts together. “The three of us have wrestled around the world in multiple countries but getting to team up tonight is going to be one hell of a ride.” He slaps them both on the back before Devin asks about the news that the Ascension are using their NXT Tag Team Title rematch at TakeOver. Kevin Owens answers now, simply stating that he came to NXT to make money and the titles means cash. “If the Ascension think that they are going to take these away from my wife and my children, they got another thing coming.”
Part three of the videos of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady at home in Queens is shown. They are at the dinner table when Enzo’s mom returns with the girl she wanted Enzo to meet, introducing her as Carmella. She says hi to both men, with Cass being friendly, but Enzo seemingly speechless. It’s like love at first sight for him. Cass snaps him out of it and we cut to a shot of Enzo and Cass speaking in a different room. “Bro, she is hotter than hell. My mom usually brings me the most ratchet girls but this one is different” says Enzo. Cass responds by saying that he needs to stop stuttering in there like a clown and get his mack on. Going back, we see multiple clips of Enzo trying to be smooth, but failing miserably as Carmella is a tough cookie that isn’t easily fooled by his games. The video ends with Carmella agreeing to go for a walk with Enzo and Cass, before we see another “to be continued.” BAYLEY VS. BECKY LYNCH; Even though she’s only been a part of NXT for a few weeks, Becky Lynch has quickly gained popularity, but it’s nothing compared to the absolute love that Bayley gets from the NXT Universe. They shake hands before the bell and have a respectful contest at first. When Bayley starts taking control, it seems like Becky gets a bit frustrated and starts hitting harder and showing an aggressive side. Despite this, Bayley is able to duck a clothesline and connect with the Belly to Bayley suplex. She covers and gets the 1-2-3. Bayley defeats Becky Lynch in 4:56!
There is a look of surprise on Bayley’s face, but it is seemingly not because she won, but because of the aggressive Becky Lynch that she had to overcome. She helps Becky up, who doesn’t seem to be interested in help at first, but then accepts it and points at Bayley before exiting, allowing her to celebrate on her own.
John “Bradshaw” Layfield is shown sitting at his desk in his office. He speaks to the camera, saying that tonight is his final night as the General Manager of NXT. “Next week, I will be introducing my successor and let me tell you, I feel like you all will be very pleased with my decision.” TYE DILLINGER W/ JASON JORDAN VS. TYLER BREEZE; Tye Dillinger manages to get in some early offense, as commentary brings up Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter watching from the stage last week. Surprisingly, they aren’t out here this week. Instead, about a minute into things, Kalisto walks out. He has a cellphone and is taking a selfie video as he walks around the ring, just like Tyler Breeze did during his match two weeks ago. Tyler is distracted enough for Tye to roll him up for two. They get simultaneously and Breeze hits the Beauty Shot for the win. Tyler Breeze defeats Tye Dillinger in 2:01!Tyler Breeze gets to his feet and the referee goes to raise his hand but he refuses to allow him to touch him. He looks up at the ramp, where Kalisto is standing, hilariously taking a selfie. Breeze is fuming that Kalisto is mocking him, but the luchador seems to be enjoying himself.
An advertisement runs to promote the newest WWE DVD release, “Ladies and Gentlemen, My Name is Paul Heyman.” ADRIAN NEVILLE, KEVIN OWENS AND SAMI ZAYN VS. THE ASCENSION AND COREY GRAVES; The rivalries over the NXT Championship and NXT Tag Team Titles collide here in one huge match. Prior to a commercial break, everyone gets a chance to strut their stuff with the highlight being Sami Zayn leaping out onto his opponents. Not to be outdone, Adrian Neville does an incredible dive after but the crowd loses their minds when Kevin Owens caps it with one of his own. After the break, the Ascension and Corey Graves have isolated Zayn. He gets close to the tag several times, but is unable to officially make it. He finally does, with the crowd 100% behind him, tagging in Owens. He comes in red hot and abuses his opponents with his impactful offense. He catches Viktor with a big popup powerbomb and tags Neville. Owens and Zayn both knock Graves and Konnor off the apron. Neville goes up top and connects on the Red Arrow, scoring the three. Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn defeat the Ascension and Corey Graves in 11:41!Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are handed their respective belts. Konnor pulls Viktor out of the ring and they retreat up the ramp with Corey Graves. The faces enjoy the win with their gold to close the show.

Friday Night Smackdown: August 22nd, 2014 – US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona
A video package kicks off tonight’s episode. It’s the same as the one that opened Raw, recapping some of the big moments from this past Sunday’s SummerSlam extravaganza, set to a Hollywood like theme. The camera then cuts to the arena where pyro fires off and we are welcomed by Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield. However, Cole also introduces Tom Phillips, who is now joining the weekly Smackdown commentary booth. They hype up tonight’s show, promising great things.
Sheamus steps out through the curtain to a chorus of boos and walks down to the ring. We are reminded that he lost his Intercontinental Championship to Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam before attacking Ziggler and Adrian Neville after their classic on Raw this past Monday. When that footage is done, we see Sheamus smiling in the ring. He says that normally, when someone loses a title, they aren’t in a good mood. “By all means, I probably should be in a bad mood but I’m not. You see, little Dolph Ziggler got lucky at SummerSlam. I’ve been the most dominant Intercontinental Champion in WWE history and I was going to destroy Dolph Ziggler but he got a lucky three count. It happens. I wasn’t pleased with it, but when I got to thinking about it, I grew happy again. I grew happy because now, I get to use my rematch clause and I’m going to get to beat the stuffing out of Dolph Ziggler once again.” Sheamus says that he’s received questions on Twitter over the week, where fans have asked when he’s going to use his rematch. Sheamus says that he hasn’t exactly decided just yet when he will use his rematch but when he does, Dolph Ziggler will be ended. “I know that Dolph said he would be a fighting champion and plans on giving out a fair amount of title shots, but the only person he’s going to lose that belt to is me.” Sheamus drops the microphone and leaves as the music of Evolution hits. The WWE Tag Team Champions, Randy Orton and Batista, come out to the ring, stopping to nod at their Authority teammate Sheamus, as he leaves to the back. NON-TITLE MATCH: BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON VS. LOS MATADORES W/ EL TORITO; Kicking things off on Smackdown is our Tag Team Champions and Los Matadores. The team of Diego and Fernando are rightfully cautious, knowing what Batista and Randy Orton did to the Usos this past Monday night. They try to use their speed and high flying ability to gain the advantage but are unable to do so. Batista and Orton quickly prove to be too much of a problem. Orton strikes with an RKO on Fernando for the win. Batista and Randy Orton defeat Los Matadores in 3:09!Batista and Randy Orton have their hands raised and are handed their Tag Team Titles by the official. They hold them high in the air as commentary mentions that in one week, they have proven to be the most dangerous tag team on the planet. Batista requests a microphone from ringside and directs his words to the Shield and, more specifically, Roman Reigns. He tells him that he had no business getting involved on Monday. “Randy and I are the most dominant force in sports entertainment today and you stuck your nose where it didn’t belong. I’m laying down a challenge. You and I, this Monday night so I can teach you a lesson punk.” Batista throws down the microphone and they leave the ring.
A recap is now shown of this past Monday night, when Paige sat at ringside and watched a Fatal Four Way match. Nikki Bella would be victorious, defeating Emma, Brie Bella and Summer Rae, earning a shot at Paige’s Women’s Championship. The Bella would then attack Paige until the longest reigning Divas Champion, AJ Lee made her return and sent them packing. AJ LEE VS. LAYLA; The fans are pretty excited to see AJ Lee back in action. Layla is a former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion herself, but hasn’t competed much in recent weeks. Mostly due to that, she was relatively quick work for AJ. She locks in the Black Widow to polish off Fandango’s dance partner. AJ Lee defeats Layla in 2:49!
The referee raises AJ Lee’s hand as the WWE Universe cheers. Just like the winners of the previous match, AJ grabs a microphone and cuts a short promo. She says that she got the news that Nikki Bella will be receiving the Women’s Title shot at Night of Champions. “That upset me just a little bit since I do still have my rightful rematch clause after Paige beat me back in May. So I’m going to make this perfectly clear. One, I really don’t like the Bella Twins and two, once Paige runs through Nikki Bella, I’m coming back for my baby.”
An ad airs to promote Night of Champions, set to "Title Fight" by Blitz Kids. Night of Champions comes to you live on September 21st on the WWE Network! We go backstage to Renee Young, who is standing by with the Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler. She asks him for his thoughts on his big title defense this past Monday. He says that Adrian Neville is one of the toughest guys he’s ever been in the ring with and he gained a ton of respect for him. Renee then asks him about Sheamus’ comments earlier. Dolph responds by saying that he expected it. “I know that he’s coming for his rematch and he can think all he wants that he’s going to take this from me but he won’t. As for me defending my title at every opportunity, well, that is absolutely going to be the case.” He trails off looking off camera. Chris Jericho steps into the picture, telling Dolph that he likes the spirit of a fighting champion. “In fact Dolph, if you are indeed the fighting champion that you say you are, then maybe you’d like to face the man who has held that title more than anyone else.” Dolph smirks and accepts the match for tonight, before the two men shake hands. NON-TITLE MATCH: ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. KANE; Alberto Del Rio has become a thorn in the Authority’s side ever since they used him as a hired gun. Here, the new United States Champion is in action for the first time since winning the title, taking on the Director of Operations, Kane. During the contest, Mr. Money in the Bank, Bad News Barrett, strolled out to ringside with a microphone, giving out some bad news. This distraction nearly allows Kane to hit a Chokeslam, but Del Rio counters right into the Cross Armbreaker! Kane looks to be on the verge of submitting when Barrett runs in and starts to stomp on Del Rio. Alberto Del Rio defeats Kane via disqualification in 8:31!The crowd boos loudly as Bad News Barrett continues to put the boots to Alberto Del Rio. When Kane gets to his feet, he joins in before picking up the United States Champion. He holds him in place as Barrett turns the elbow pad over and lays him out with a Bull Hammer. Barrett hoists up the US Title and the Money in the Bank briefcase.
An ad airs to hype this Monday’s edition of Raw. Batista has laid down a challenge to Roman Reigns for getting in their way last week, plus Alberto Del Rio defends the United States Championship against Mr. Money in the Bank, Bad News Barrett! Renee Young is now standing by again, this time with Adrian Neville. She asks him about the attack from Sheamus this past Monday. Neville first thanks Dolph Ziggler for the words earlier tonight before turning his attention to Sheamus. He says that after Sheamus’ kick last week, he wants to get his hands on him but the Authority are ignoring his pleas. “I understand that you’ve got a title shot you’re looking for but you need to realize that I’m coming for you with the first chance I get.”
This Tuesday night, exclusively on the WWE Network, catch the groundbreaking new show, “Monday Night War.” See and hear from the people who participated in the biggest period in sports entertainment history! JACK SWAGGER W/ ZEB COLTER VS. THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; Recently, we’ve seen Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter appear on NXT, seemingly scouting people. Here, the fans are behind him, shouting “We the People” loudly at the Miz. Miz goes after the leg of Swagger, setting up for the Figure Four, only for Swagger to reach the ropes. Swagger turns the tide, applying the Patriot Lock, but Miz also gets to the ropes. A thumb to the eye, followed by the Skull Crushing Finale is enough for the win. The Miz defeats Jack Swagger in 4:12!Boos are heard from the WWE Universe as Summer Rae enters the ring to congratulate the Miz. Zeb Colter looks disappointed as Jack Swagger continues to struggle in singles action. Tom Phillips makes sure to note that even though Miz lost the battle royal at SummerSlam, he is still looking impressive enough to earn a future title shot.
We are now taken to a video recap from SummerSlam’s Kickoff show. Cody Rhodes won a grueling match with his brother and wanted to make amends afterwards. Goldust wanted none of that though and proceeded to kick him in the groin. The following night on Raw, Cody appeared on the Titantron, stating that he was told by doctors to avoid the ring for a bit but promises to come for Goldust when he returns. ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. KOFI KINGSTON; As noted this past Monday, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam have amicably split and decided to once again pursue singles careers. Kofi has a tough task ahead of him against the undefeated Bulgarian. He tries to fly around the ring and use his speed to his advantage. Unfortunately for him though, once Alexander Rusev is able to catch him, it spells doom. Rusev nails a big jumping thrust kick before locking the Accolade. Kofi succumbs to the pain and taps out. Alexander Rusev defeats Kofi Kingston in 3:56!Lana enters the ring to give Alexander Rusev the signal to break the hold. He does and poses next to her in victory. Rusev continues his dominant run towards being the most dominant Superstar in WWE history.
Cutting backstage, we see the Age of Enlightenment. Damien Sandow and Xavier Woods seem to be working on something while Titus O’Neil stands by them, looking annoyed. He questions what they’re doing but they shrug him off, telling him that he doesn’t need to worry about it and just needs to stand guard. “You know, I’m getting a bit tired of just being the muscle around here. You do realize that I offer a lot more to this group than this.” He gets mad and storms off just before Woods turns and says “what?” clearly ignoring everything Titus said.
A recap now airs of the ceremony from Monday where Brock Lesnar was presented with the new WWE Championship and Paul Heyman hyped his client. CM Punk, fresh off of a win over Triple H, interrupted and ran down the champion, citing that at SummerSlam 2013, he was within an inch of beating Brock and would have if it wasn’t for Heyman. He challenged Brock to a title match, which the “Beast” promptly accepted.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. CHRIS JERICHO; These two actually had quite the rivalry just about two years ago. Unlike those encounter though, this is more a matchup based out of respect. They feel each other out early, trying to gain an upper hand but neither man is able to do so. Chris Jericho nearly applies the Walls of Jericho but Dolph Ziggler quickly scatters to the ropes, allowing Jericho to look at him, showing how close he was to winning. Dolph fights back, hitting a big DDT and a superkick for two. Jericho attempts the Lionsault, but Dolph moves and he lands on his feet. Dolph goes for another superkick but Jericho catches it and trips him up for the Walls. Dolph kicks him off into the corner. As Jericho bounces out, Dolph hits the Zig Zag to end it. Dolph Ziggler defeats Chris Jericho to retain the Intercontinental Championship in 12:34!Dolph Ziggler lays on his back, worn out from the action. He gets to his feet but is instantly attacked again by Sheamus. He clubs down on Dolph until Chris Jericho gets up and pulls him off. Jericho and Sheamus trade blows until Sheamus shoves him into the ropes and drops him with the Brogue Kick! Much like this past Monday, Sheamus stands over the Intercontinental Champion and his challenger.

8/23/14 Edition
- Daniel Bryan's injury is not legitimate. While he is banged up, he is taking time off as part of the WWE's plan to keep Superstars fresh by resting them for a bit. Considering how hot Bryan has been though, don't expect him to be gone for too long as he should be back shortly after Night of Champions.
- Reception to SummerSlam has been fairly positive, with a lot of praise going to the match between the Shield and the Wyatt Family. Similar to Daniel Bryan, the Wyatt Family will be stepping away for a short while. Creative feels that Bray needs to always be part of an integral story and they had nothing for him this month, but something major planned for near the end of the fall. Rather than have him float aimlessly, they decided it would be better to keep him away until that time comes. From what we've heard, they have plans for the Wyatt Family, specially Bray, going all the way up to WrestleMania 32 as he is expected to be a major player.
- Currently, plans are to hype Raw in two weeks as the "Season Premiere". While the WWE obviously has no off-season, they are doing this to combat the return of Monday Night Football and other television programs having season premieres. All that it means is that the episode will be heavily promoted. Expect some big matches and appearances.
- The WWE have officially decided to go through with the plans of an episode of Smackdown dedicated to the Divas. The date should be revealed sometime soon and expect them to try and feature some big matches. The Women's Title should maine vent and there is talk that the NXT Women's Title will be on the line as well, along with possible returns of Divas from the past.

Monday Night Raw: August 25th, 2014 – Honda Center in Anaheim, California The weekly Raw intro video kicks off the show before cutting to the arena. Instead of pyro or an introduction from our commentary team, we are joined by the music of CM Punk. The new number one contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship walks down to the ring to resounding cheers from the WWE Universe. When he enters the ring, he grabs a microphone and waits for the crowd noise to die down. He speaks, talking about November 2011. “On a fateful night that month in New York City, I defeated Alberto Del Rio and became the WWE Champion for the second time. It was on that night that I began a stint as champion for 434 days. I like to consider that the highlight of my career but you know what bugs me about it? It ended in January 2013. It has been 575 days since I held that title which is far too long in my eyes.” Punk says that he respects the things Brock Lesnar has done in the ring but points out a major difference between them. “When I held the WWE Title for 434 days, I defended it week in and week out. Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Ryback, Chris Jericho and the list goes on and on. Brock doesn’t really seem to like that schedule. Brock isn’t even here tonight. Now, I told the Rock this before we faced off last year, but I don’t care if you want to work one day a year Brock, you need to understand that with that title on the line, nothing will get in my way. I will not allow Paul Heyman to cost me another match against you.”Speaking of Paul Heyman, the advocate himself steps through the curtain now, introducing himself as always to the WWE Universe. He tells CM Punk that he has made a grave mistake. “You see, when you faced Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam last year, I brought Brock in to help me. This time, you have challenged the Beast. That my old friend, is going to cost you dearly. Have you not been paying attention? I know that you left after the Royal Rumble but on that night, Brock Lesnar victimized the World’s Largest Athlete. If that wasn’t enough for you, then I need to tell you that at WrestleMania, my client Brock Lesnar, conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak.” CM Punk cuts him off, saying that he knows Brock’s accomplishments. “Trust me, we’ve all heard you hype him up time after time after time. I know what he’s done this year. There’s one thing he hasn’t done and that’s face me. I understand completely just how much of an animal Brock has been this year but you and him both need to realize something. Last year, I was more focused on getting my hands on you. At Night of Champions, I am 100% looking to take back my title and there isn’t a damn thing you or Brock or anyone can do to stop me.” Punk throws down the microphone and stares a hole through Heyman as his music plays. Heyman tries to remain confident but does seem a bit worried at Punk’s determination.
A quick recap is shown of Sheamus’ attack on Dolph Ziggler and then Chris Jericho this past Friday night on Smackdown. CHRIS JERICHO VS. SHEAMUS; Sheamus is seemingly always aggressive, but tonight it is Chris Jericho who comes out firing. Jericho is pretty pissed about Sheamus’ attack from Friday and lays into him. However, Sheamus has been one of the most brutal Superstars all year, allowing him to end up pounding on Jericho. He goes for the Brogue Kick but Jericho ducks and hits the Codebreaker. Unfortunately for him, he was too affected from the match to pin instantly, allowing Sheamus to kick out. When both men get to their feet, Sheamus lays out Jericho with the Brogue Kick. Sheamus defeats Chris Jericho in 6:45!“Sheamus wins again! Was he right in saying Dolph Ziggler’s win at SummerSlam was a fluke?” asks JBL. Sheamus stands up and takes a microphone from ringside. He makes note of the fact that Dolph Ziggler isn’t in the arena tonight. “I have an announcement to make that should get him quivering in his boots at home. Our wise leaders, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have granted my rematch for the Intercontinental Championship. At Night of Champions Dolph, I’m going to prove that SummerSlam was a fluke. And you know how I’m going to prove that? Because our match won’t be a regular match, no. You and I are going to compete in a 30 minute Ironman match. I am going to beat you over and over and over and over again Dolph. You won’t just lose the title…you’re going to lose your entire career.”
Returning, Bad News Barrett is shown warming up for his big match tonight. Sheamus shows up to help hype him up. Barrett tells Sheamus that he has bad news for Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio. “They both got lucky at SummerSlam but their luck is running out. Tonight I take back my United States Title and did you hear about next week?” When Sheamus says he hasn’t, Barrett says that Brock Lesnar will be back. Barrett taps on his briefcase, saying he could be a double champion next week.
ADAM ROSE AND SANTINO MARELLA VS. THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT W/ DAMIEN SANDOW; Instead of the usual pairing of Xavier Woods and Damien Sandow, we get Woods and Titus O’Neil. There is an insert promo from the trio where Sandow says that he heard Titus’ concerns on Smackdown and is giving him a shot in the ring this week. The match doesn’t last too long, as Adam Rose rolls up Titus for the three count. Adam Rose and Santino Marella defeat the Age of Enlightenment in 2:22!Adam Rose and Santino Marella quickly exit the ring. They party with the Rosebuds, complete with Santino doing his trumpet dance. Damien Sandow looks absolutely frustrated with Titus O’Neil. Xavier Woods gets off the apron and stands by Sandow, while Titus tries to plead his case with them. Sandow holds his hand up to silence Titus and then suggest they all just leave, which they do while Titus has his head down.
Michael Cole informs us that as of 11PM tonight, right after Raw, the WWE Network is releasing 100 hours of WCW Nitro episodes! EMMA W/ PAIGE VS. NIKKI BELLA W/ BRIE BELLA; WWE Women’s Champion Paige is at ringside to combat Brie Bella for her best friend Emma. Nikki Bella and Emma go back and forth throughout the match, with Nikki only stopping to talk smack to Paige at ringside. Emma hits the Emmamite sandwich and looks for her finisher but Brie gets on the apron. Paige runs around and pulls her down, making her hit her jaw on the apron. This was a big enough distraction to allow Nikki to get up and nail the Rack Attack and the referee counts the three. Nikki Bella defeats Emma in 3:24!You can cut the tension with a knife as Nikki Bella stares down Paige after her win, and Paige gives the look right back. These two ladies will collide with the Women’s Championship on the line at Night of Champions.
The fans come to their feet for the arrival of the Shield. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns come down through the crowd as we are recapped of their war at SummerSlam, when they defeated the Wyatt Family. We also see how Reigns got involved in the Tag Team Title match last week. When they get in the ring, Ambrose has a microphone and speaks about last week. He says that people have been questioning if there are any issues between them after their disagreement seven nights ago. He claim that they proved earlier this year that even when they do have disagreements, they pull through, get over it and move past it. Seth Rollins takes over now, saying that they can up with something together. “At first, Dean and I were against getting involved last week because we’ve been there and we’ve done that with Evolution and the Authority. We’ve beaten them before so it’s not an intimidation issue, we’ve just been all about looking forward. However, the Usos are Roman’s family and with Roman being our brother, we understand that helping them out was the right thing to do.” Seth says that now they are back in the crosshairs of the Authority but they are going to make the best of it and they challenge Batista and Randy Orton to a Tag Team Title match. The crowd comes to their feet for this challenge. They don’t have to wait long for an answer because Batista and Randy Orton step out onto the stage with their titles. Batista speaks, saying that the Shield don’t deserve a title shot. “Yea, you guys got lucky at Payback and you beat Evolution, but winning a six man tag against us or the Wyatt Family does not mean you’ve earned a shot at these.” Randy Orton talks next, saying that he and Batista are the most dominant team in the history of the WWE and are both future Hall of Famers. Orton then stops and questions which two members of the Shield would even challenge. Roman Reigns looks to his brothers before Seth says that he and Roman, the former Tag Team Champions would be the two. Dean Ambrose chimes in, saying that he didn’t fully agree to that, citing that he’d want a crack at “those two idiots on the stage.” This brings out Stephanie McMahon, who has a huge grin like Batista and Orton. She says that she is out here to resolve all of this. “Batista and Randy Orton need new challengers to their belts and, as much as I do not like the three of you, I understand that the Shield is best for business. I mean, when you three faced Evolution, it did great business for the WWE. So I’ve got an idea. At Night of Champions, I will make a Tag Team Title match. Roman Reigns, since you’ve been hellbent on getting Batista and Orton since they took out your cousins, I’m giving you the title shot. As for your partner? That’s the fun part. You get to make the decision. Do you take the guy you won Tag Team Title gold with in the past, Seth Rollins? Do you try something new with your other ‘brother’ Dean Ambrose? Who do you disappoint? The choice is yours Roman.” The Authority members leave with smirks as the Shield continue to discuss things in the ring. “Why must Stephanie McMahon always be so manipulative?” asks Michael Cole.
Returning, Renee Young is standing by backstage with John Cena. She asks him about competing soon and Cena says that he’ll be ready next week. “What Brock Lesnar did to myself and Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam was messed up but you know I never give up Renee. I’m back to my feet and I’m coming back for the WWE Championship. CM Punk has the next title shot though, so I think maybe I should look towards some other championships in the WWE. Is there a European Champion I can face? Where’s Zack Ryder and the Internet Title?” Cena is cut off by the appearance of the Tag Team Champions. Batista and Randy Orton look at him and pat their titles on their shoulders with Batista telling him that there’s one title he would avoid if he knew what was good for himself. They walk away, leaving Cena to ponder their words.
An ad runs to promote Night of Champions, which comes to you live on September 21st from Nashville, Tennessee! WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – ALBERTO DEL RIO (C) VS. BAD NEWS BARRETT; A rematch from SummerSlam here as Mr. Money in the Bank and former United States Champion Bad News Barrett takes on Alberto Del Rio. Similar to their SummerSlam encounter, Del Rio targets the arm, while Barrett chooses more of a brawling style. They fight outside, where Del Rio is sent into the barricade. Barrett continues the beating inside the ring until Del Rio slips free of his grasp and delivers a big kick to the knee. This buckles Barrett to his knees and Del Rio slaps on the Cross Armbreaker! Barrett manages to reach the ropes and break the hold though. Barrett charges but Del Rio avoids it, he hits the corner and Del Rio connects on an incredibly loud enziguri that knocks out the challenger. Del Rio covers and gets the three. Alberto Del Rio defeats Bad News Barrett to retain the United States Championship in 12:33!Getting to his feet, Alberto Del Rio throws his arms up in the air in celebration and is given his United States belt. For the second straight time, in just over a week, Del Rio has defeated Mr. Money in the Bank. Despite not winning with his imposing Cross Armbreaker, he was able to find a way tonight.
Returning, the Authority is shown backstage and they are livid, especially Bad News Barrett. He throws his Money in the Bank briefcase at the wall before Stephanie McMahon tells him to calm down. “Hunter will be back next Monday and he’ll help right the ship guys. Plus tonight, Batista is going to run through Roman Reigns and we’ve gotten right into the Shield’s heads.” Barrett doesn’t want to hear any of that though, saying the Shield is not his problem but the US Title should be his. He storms out, furious.
We are now taken to a vignette highlighting Brock Lesnar. It’s similar to the one that aired for him leading into SummerSlam, but footage from the biggest party of the summer is added. Brock speaks over this, saying that he did exactly what he said he would at SummerSlam. “I told you that I was going to hurt Daniel Bryan and John Cena and that’s exactly what I did. I told you that it was going to get ugly and it was hideous.” He then turns his attention to CM Punk and his claims that he would have beaten him last year. Brock says that Paul Heyman getting involved didn’t change anything. “I was going to get up and beat your ass the exact same way that I did. Nothing would have changed. Just like nothing will change at Night of Champions. I will leave you in a puddle of your own blood, urine and vomit.” GOLDUST VS. JACK SWAGGER W/ ZEB COLTER; In recent weeks, we’ve actually seen Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter appear on NXT and in a recent wwe.com interview, they admitted that Jack was looking for a potential new tag team partner. He may want to focus on some singles action though, as he’s struggled there recently and did so again here. Goldust continues to be more vicious than ever in his career, hitting the Curtain Call to end things. Goldust defeats Jack Swagger in 2:39!Goldust does not get time to enjoy or celebrate his victory as, just like last week, he hears the voice of his brother. Cody Rhodes appears on the Titantron, telling Goldust that the time is near. “I told you that I had to miss some time brother, but that time is coming to an end very shortly. In fact, I’ll be ready in two weeks. I’m not here to tell you just that information, no. I’m here to challenge you to one more match. I know that you want to beat me, which you couldn’t do at SummerSlam and you know I want revenge for what you did to me and this family. So face me in two weeks, but this time, let’s up the ante. Dad used to have these incredible Steel Cage matches when we were growing up, so why don’t we have one ourselves?” Goldust looks around and grabs a microphone, accepting the challenge. “You just made the biggest mistake of your life boy. You’re going to return in two weeks…and I’m going to end you and your pathetic career.”
After a commercial break, the ring is now set up for MizTV. The Miz comes out, as always accompanied by the lovely Summer Rae. When they get in the ring, Miz calls his talk show the greatest in WWE history. “This show is better than any Cabana, Lounge or Pit you can see on the WWE Network.” He boasts for a short while longer before turning his attention to his guest tonight. “A woman who returned last week and has an agenda that we honestly aren’t sure about. Ladies and gentlemen, and I use those terms loosely; AJ Lee!” AJ Lee skips down to the ring and takes a seat. Miz goes right into the hard hitting questions, asking where she went during her time off. AJ responds by saying that Paige kind of humbled her at first. “I held that Divas Championship longer than anyone in history and then she showed up and things changed. The thing was, I wanted to face her. During my title reign, all I kept hearing about was how there was a woman in NXT, stealing the show. It ate me up inside and when I actually faced her, she defeated me. I needed to go away for a while and clear my head, which is just what I did.” Miz then asks why she assisted Paige last week if she doesn’t like her. AJ responds, saying that she respects Paige but she doesn’t respect the Bella Twins. “I agree with what Paige and Trish Stratus said and think that girls like the Bella Twins and even you over there honey, are a cancer for this division.” Summer Rae takes obvious offense to that jab and gets in AJ’s face. Miz gets in between them, but the music of the Bella Twins cuts them off. It’s just Brie Bella here, with a microphone. She tells AJ Lee that she has only been back for a week and she’s already sick of hearing her badmouth the Bella Twins. “My sister is going to win the title at Night of Champions and you’re going to have to accept that the Bella era is about to begin.” She goes to enter the ring and AJ Lee gets in her face. Summer attacks from behind, kicking AJ in the back of the head. She holds her up so Brie can slap her and then drill her with the Bella Buster. “This is awful. Where is Paige?” asks Michael Cole. Brie Bella look at Summer Rae before backing out of the ring, leaving AJ Lee lying. ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. KOFI KINGSTON; The undefeated “Bulgarian Brute” bested Kofi Kingston this past Friday on Smackdown, but, as we hear in an insert promo from Kingston, he wanted another shot here. He comes out of the gate strong, attacking with everything he’s got. He makes a crucial mistake though as Rusev catches him in a monster slam that folds Kofi in half. Rusev applies the Accolade and Kofi is knocked out so the official calls for the bell. Alexander Rusev defeats Kofi Kingston in 1:36!Lana enters the ring, but unlike her usual actions, she doesn’t signal for Alexander Rusev to break the hold. He just continues to hold it, as the timekeeper continually rings the bell. “My goodness, he’s gonna break Kofi Kingston in half” exclaims Jerry Lawler. “One of a Kind” plays as Rob Van Dam, Kingston’s former partner, charges the ring. Lana finally gives the signal, but RVD is all over Rusev, pummeling him with lefts and rights. Rusev fires back but RVD ducks a shot and sweeps the big man’s legs. Rusev falls to the mat and Lana has him roll out of the ring. He shouts at RVD in Bulgarian but backs away, while RVD checks on his friend.
Next week on the WWE Network, get ready for Attitude Week! See historic episodes of Monday night Raw from the Attitude Era, relive the Monday Night Wars, see the Attitude Era documentary and witness a live special Legends Roundtable featuring Jim Ross, Triple H, Mick Foley and Goldust about their time in the era that redefined the business. Backstage, the Shield are seen talking about the Tag Team Title situation. Seth Rollins is saying that he and Roman have proven that they can get the job done with the titles on the line, while Dean Ambrose says that he’s never won the Tag Titles before and wants a chance. Roman Reigns seems slightly annoyed by this until the Director of Operations, Kane, shows up. “I come in peace fellas. I’m here to help you out with your decision Roman. Tonight, right before you face Batista in the main event, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will be in tag team action against Rybaxel. You can see for yourself who impresses you the most in a tag team situation.” Kane leaves as the Shield continue to show some cracks. ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA; Adrian Neville does not have the clearest of minds at this time, focusing hard on his upcoming NXT Championship defense against Corey Graves at TakeOver: R-Evolution. Fandango is able to get in the driver’s seat at the start, but Neville is never one to stay down. He rallies with some high impact offense and scores with the Red Arrow. Adrian Neville defeats Fandango in 2:50!
Adrian Neville is given the NXT Title but doesn’t look happy still. It’s clear that even though he picked up a win tonight, his mind is solely focused on Corey Graves and TakeOver.
Like the Brock Lesnar vignette earlier tonight, we are now taken to one that focuses on CM Punk. He speaks, saying that he isn’t going to say anything fancy. “I’m not here to clown around like John Cena sometimes likes to do, I’m not here to rally the fans behind me like Daniel Bryan does and I’m not here to intimidate viewers like Brock Lesnar does. I’m here to remind you that I am the best in the world. Some people, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman especially, seem to have forgotten that during the time that I was gone.” Punk says that he showed Triple H at SummerSlam that he was still the best. “Brock, when you’ve known me longer, you’ll learn that I mean everything I say. And I say that I’m taking my WWE Championship back at Night of Champions.” RYBAXEL VS. DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS W/ ROMAN REIGNS; Roman Reigns watches this match intently, pondering what may be his plan for a tag team partner. Rybaxel has some communication issues that allow Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to work well together. Despite their differences on who should team with Roman, they are their usual well-oiled machine selves. Ambrose hits Curtis Axel with the Dirty Deeds and wins this for his team. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeat Rybaxel in 4:00!Roman Reigns looks on with an impressed look on his face. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins both look out at him, but he still seems a bit undecided. Across the ring, Ryback looks upset at Curtis Axel. Reigns’ face turns serious when he hears the theme of Batista. “The Animal” arrives for the main event, next! BATISTA W/ THE AUTHORITY VS. ROMAN REIGNS W/ THE SHIELD; The final two men in this year’s Royal Rumble match compete in a singles match for just the second time ever. They met on Main Event back in April but there was no clear winner decided. Both guys just hammer away on each other throughout this, with tension building at ringside due to the forces out there. Batista hits a big spinebuster and calls for the Batista Bomb. He hoists Reigns up for it, but the powerhouse of the Shield slips free and connects on a big time Superman Punch! Reigns is slow to get up, but when he does, he signals for the Spear. He nails it and covers, but Kane pulls the referee out of the ring. This causes the referee to call for the DQ and a brawl to ensue between the Shield and the Authority. Roman Reigns defeats Batista via disqualification in 7:33!The fans erupt for the big brawl going on outside of the ring. Unfortunately for them, the Authority have the numbers advantage and beat down on Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Kane, Batista, Randy Orton, Sheamus and Bad News Barrett seem to be in control and look to focus on Roman Reigns when John Cena’s theme hits! He rushes to the ring with a steel chair and instantly lays out Kane. He uses it on Barrett and when the numbers seem to catch up to him, Reigns is up and helps him clean house. They double clothesline Sheamus over the top as Ambrose and Rollins get back up as well. They each knock Batista and Orton out of the ring and send the Authority packing. John Cena stands tall with the Shield as the Authority back away.

WWE NXT: August 28th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Things open tonight with the weekly NXT intro video. Then, we cut straight to the arena where Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Alex Riley welcome us to the show. They remind us that tonight, we will find out who our new General Manager will be, but for now, we head to the ring for the opening contest. COREY GRAVES VS. JASON JORDAN W/ TYE DILLINGER; The number one contender for the NXT Champion gets a bit of a warm up match tonight. However, he knows better than to overlook someone with the raw ability that Jason Jordan has. During the match, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter appear on the stage, seemingly scouting once again. Tye Dillinger seems a bit perturbed by this. Graves applies the Lucky 13 and Jordan has no choice but to tap out. Corey Graves defeats Jason Jordan in 2:11!When the bell rings, Corey Graves releases the hold and gets to his feet. He asks for a microphone and directs his message to Adrian Neville. He brings up their time as Tag Team Champions, saying that people felt like he was just the filler member of the team. “Since that time, you’ve gone on to have all of the success in NXT and it drives me insane. You and I both know who the better man is and at TakeOver, I’m going to snap your leg in the Lucky 13 and win the NXT Championship I deserve. When you finish tapping out, you’ll do like Jason Jordan right now, and stay down.”
An ad runs to promote the WWE Shop, set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. We see various Superstars, Divas and fans sporting official WWE Shop gear. Jojo is in the ring and she introduces NXT’s new General Manager. There is silence until a familiar theme hits and William Regal steps onto the stage to a massive ovation from Full Sail University. He comes to the ring and thanks them for their warm reception. “I’ve sat at that commentary table since day one of NXT in Full Sail University so JBL thought there was nobody better for the job and I am here to do the best job possible. It starts with TakeOver: R-Evolution, which is already shaping up to be a massive show.” Regal says that he wants to make it even better, and asks for Evan Bourne to join him. Bourne makes his way to the ring to cheers and shakes Regal’s hand. Regal now asks for Solomon Crowe to come out, but gets no response. “Well that’s unfortunate sunshine. Evan, I brought you out here to inform you that I have obviously been watching very closely over the past number of weeks. I know of your issues with Mr. Crowe so in two weeks’ time, at NXT TakeOver, you will go one on one with Solomon Crowe!” The fans pop as Bourne thanks Regal before the arena seemingly gets hacked into. Crowe appears on the tron, first congratulating Regal. “Unfortunately Mr. Regal, your title is a hollow one because I run NXT. I control everything that happens around here. You know it, I know it and Evan knows it. I’ll be more than happy to face you at TakeOver and show you that it really is out with the old trash like you.” Crowe disappears again, leaving Regal and Bourne to talk amongst themselves as a commercial comes up.
An ad airs to promote the WWE Network, set to a voiceover from the Ultimate Warrior’s speech the night after WrestleMania, just before his untimely passing. Devin Taylor is standing by with Tyler Breeze, who is looking at himself in his phone. She asks him for his thoughts on Kalisto walking out during his match and taking selfies. Tyler looks at her with an annoyed look before saying that Kalisto had no right to do that last week. “When I did it during his match, I was doing the NXT Universe a favor, by giving them this gorgeous face to look at. When Kalisto does it, he’s just further showing the world that he is so much of an uggo that he has to hide behind his stupid little mask.” Tyler then lays down a challenge to Kalisto for TakeOver, saying that he wants our new General Manager to make it happen. ALEXA BLISS VS. SASHA BANKS; In preparation for her big NXT Women’s Championship match in two weeks, Sasha Banks takes on the always happy Alexa Bliss. Bliss picked up a rather big win last week against Becky Lynch, but Banks has been on a whole different level as of late. Bliss learns that quickly, as Sasha just levels her with shots, busting her nose open. The vicious side of the “Boss” continues to show as she stymies a Bliss rally and nails the Bank Statement for the win. Sasha Banks defeats Alexa Bliss in 3:16!Following the win, Renee Young enters the ring to conduct an interview with Sasha Banks. She wants to know where her head is at heading into TakeOver. Banks says that is a stupid question. “My head is obviously focused on one thing and that’s the NXT Women’s Championship. It doesn’t matter to me that Charlotte is champion. It could be anyone and none of them can compare to the Boss.” This brings out Charlotte, as business is about to pick up. Charlotte politely has Renee Young step aside and takes the microphone, telling Sasha that the Women’s Title proves that she not only “compares” to the Boss, but that she is far better. “You can call yourself all of the fancy little nicknames that you want, but when we step into this ring at TakeOver, you will learn why I am genetically superior. I was born to hold this title, it is my damn birthright.” Sasha Banks gets right in Charlotte’s face and they stare each other down. Charlotte lays the title in between them and dares Sasha to make a move, but the “Boss” chooses to step out of the ring and save it for TakeOver.
Coming to a store near you, it’s the Top 50 OMG Moments in WCW history! Witness everything from Sting’s return in new colors, to the shocking reveal of Hulk Hogan as the infamous third man to the wackiness of the Yeti! ANGELO DAWKINS VS. BARON CORBIN; The fans are unsure what to make of Baron Corbin, who get a pretty elaborate entrance, with the lights focused on him. He is a larger man with tattoos. Angelo Dawkins seems intimidated and charges, only to be met with a massive clothesline. Corbin lifts him up and hits an impressive move that commentary calls the End of Days for the 1-2-3. Baron Corbin defeats Angelo Dawkins in 0:21!The fans give a mixed reaction as some don’t seem happy with the quick match, but some are obviously impressed. “That was even shorter than some of Mason Ryan’s matches” exclaims Byron Saxton. Corbin doesn’t wait to have his hand raised, instead just leaving up the ramp without saying a word.
Back to Devin Taylor, who is standing by with the NXT Tag Team Champions. She first talks to Kevin Owens about their match with the Ascension at TakeOver. Owens calmly states the same thing he stated recently, saying that nothing the Ascension can do will pry these titles from them and take the food off of his family’s table. She then turns to Sami Zayn and asks him about his main event match later tonight with Tyson Kidd. Sami says that he’s faced Tyson multiple times before but this is different. “Tyson has a big chip on his shoulder. He’s challenging Hideo Itami, which, I know from experience with that guy, is a bold move. I’ve seen him live before and the NXT Universe is in for a treat, while Tyson is in trouble.” Sami claims that tonight, he’ll show that even though they are Tag Team Champions, they can still go it alone if need be.
We are now taken to another part in the series of vignettes featuring Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady in Queens. Enzo, Cass and Carmella are out taking a walk, as Enzo continues to try and hit on Carmella. Enzo stops in his tracks at the sight of someone who turns out to be an ex-girlfriend. She gets in Enzo’s face, screaming at him for their past. She goes to slap him, but her arm is grabbed by Carmella, who slaps her. The camera shows Enzo and Cass looking stunned as we hear the sounds of Carmella beating the girl up. Enzo just slowly says “how you doing?” Carmella looks at them and asks, “so about this NXT thing you guys do; I want in.” Enzo and Cass look at each other before “to be continued” flashes across the screen.
SAMI ZAYN VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; Two of the focal points of the main event scene for NXT in recent months do battle here tonight. As one would expect in a match involving two athletes of this caliber, the action is fast paced and the crowd gets behind all of their offense. Sami Zayn is in firm control until Tyson Kidd hides behind Natalya like a coward. That turns the tide and puts Kidd in control. He tries for the Sharpshooter but Sami kicks him off and nails a big DDT. Sami signals for the Helluva Kick, when suddenly the Ascension appear on the tron. They are walking towards a door and when they get to it, it says “NXT Tag Team Champions” on it. Sami realizes that this means they are going after Kevin Owens, so he runs out of the ring and goes to help. The referee counts to ten, giving Kidd the win. Tyson Kidd defeats Sami Zayn via countout in 11:09!As Sami Zayn rushes out of the arena, Tyson Kidd gets to his feet. He realizes that he’s won and celebrates like he just won the NXT Championship. He even asks Natalya to hoist him up on her shoulder like Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth. It doesn’t work and Tyson pissed at Natalya. The fun and games are over when a new Hideo Itami vignette comes up on the screen, as the crowd goes wild. We see shots of Hideo arriving at Full Sail earlier this week and taking a tour of the NXT arena before he looks at the camera and says that at TakeOver, he’s coming for Tyson Kidd. Cut back to the ring where Kidd looks worried as Hideo is shown kicking a punching bag and absolutely lighting it up. Backstage, Sami Zayn finds his locker room and barges in. Kevin Owens is sitting there calmly asking what happened out there. “I saw the Ascension coming for our locker room.” Owens replies by saying that nobody came in, leaving Sami confused. It looks like the Ascension have the upper hand when it comes to mind games.

Friday Night Smackdown: August 29th, 2014 – Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California
Smackdown opens up with a video package showing the renewed rivalry between the Shield and Batista and Randy Orton. We see the announcement from Stephanie McMahon that Roman Reigns will get a Tag Team Title at Night of Champions, but he must choose his tag team partner. Will it be Dean Ambrose? Will it be Seth Rollins? After a match with Batista, the Shield was in trouble against the Authority until John Cena showed up to help them clean house. Our commentary team of Michael Cole, Tom Phillips and JBL introduce the show before taking us right to the opening contest. 3MB VS. THE SHIELD; This doesn’t last very long. The Shield is in a foul mood and they don’t even bother with tagging in and out. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins all beat on Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, with their opponents getting almost no offense. They hit the triple powerbomb on Mahal for the win. The Shield defeat 3MB in 1:53!Roman Reigns demands a microphone once the match ends. The three Shield members stand over the fallen bodies of the 3 Man Band. Reigns reminds everyone that last week, Stephanie McMahon did her best to try and drive a wedge between them. “She saw what we did to her husband and Evolution at Payback and she knows that if we get a Tag Team Title shot, Batista and Randy Orton don’t stand a chance. This Monday, I am going to make my decision and whoever I choose, we will become your next Tag Team Champions. Believe that.” Reigns slams the microphone down and exits, leaving Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to look at him a bit confused.
Newly added to the WWE Network is the premiere episode of Smackdown! As part of Attitude Era Week, catch the first ever Smackdown episode featuring Triple H and the Rock meeting for the WWE Championship with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee! ROB VAN DAM VS. TITUS O’NEIL W/ THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT; The communication issues continue within the Age of Enlightenment. They are clearly having a disagreement at the start of the match. Rob Van Dam takes advantage, but Titus O’Neil uses his power to turn the tide. After a massive slam, Titus gets up and does his trademark barking. Damien Sandow is heard shouting from ringside to “cut that nonsense out”. Titus looks upset at this but it opens the door for RVD to nail an enziguri. He follows with Rolling Thunder and a Five Star Frog Splash that ends the match. Rob Van Dam defeats Titus O’Neil in 3:43!The man who came to the aid of his friend Kofi Kingston on Monday night gets to his feet. Rob Van Dam raises his arm in victory as Damien Sandow and Xavier Woods look on in frustration at Titus O’Neil. RVD heads up the ramp and does his signature taunt atop the stage, when he is leveled from behind by Alexander Rusev! Rusev puts him in the Accolade and wrenches back as Lana watches with a huge smile. Officials try to pry him off but as usual, he doesn’t let go until Lana gives the signal.
The Authority is shown backstage as Batista and Randy Orton are still pissed about John Cena getting involved this past Monday night. The Director of Operations, Kane, says that he knows how to handle someone like John Cena. “As of earlier this evening, John Cena is officially cleared to compete. Therefore tonight, he will go one on one with someone truly terrifying. Me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have other business to attend to.” Kane leaves as Orton tells Batista that a guy in black slacks isn’t really terrifying.
Returning, a recap airs of MizTV this past Monday night. The Miz had AJ Lee on as his guest and she did not play nice with Miz’s lady friend, Summer Rae. Summer even assisted Brie Bella in her attack on AJ Lee. AJ LEE VS. SUMMER RAE; No Miz at ringside with Summer Rae but early on, it looks like she doesn’t need his guidance. She uses her long legs to kick AJ Lee around and hold serve early. AJ is able to duck a big kick and sweep out Summer’s legs though. AJ now gets on the offensive, and locks in the Black Widow, but Summer’s legs come into play again as they are long enough for her to reach the ropes. AJ Lee wastes no time though, as right after breaking the hold, she drops Summer with a Shining Wizard to win. AJ Lee defeats Summer Rae in 3:58!The WWE Universe erupts into cheers as AJ Lee is declared the winner. She has her hand raised by the referee and wipes her feet on the mat in the direction of Summer Rae. Now that she’s done with Summer Rae, one has to figure that AJ Lee is coming for Brie Bella and the Bella Twins.
An ad airs to promote Night of Champions, set to "Title Fight" by Blitz Kids. Night of Champions comes to you live on September 21st on the WWE Network! KANE VS. JOHN CENA; As Kane noted earlier, these two have met numerous times in the past. John Cena has managed to come out on top most of those times but this seems like a different case. Kane is able to firmly get in the driver’s seat due to Cena still reeling somewhat from his injury. However, Cena is never one to allow the issues of an injury to keep him down for long. He avoids a Chokeslam and starts to overcome the odds. Cena applies the STF but Kane reaches the ropes. As always though, Cena finds a way and plants Kane with the Attitude Adjustment to get the win. John Cena defeats Kane in 7:39!John Cena gets to his feet but his celebration is cut short by the arrival of Batista and Randy Orton. They walk quickly to the ring, but Cena shows no signs of backing down. “Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield.” The three members of the Shield appear in the stands and head towards the ring. Batista and Orton stop in their tracks and back up the ramp. The Shield never make it into the ring, but the message is clear.
Renee Young is now standing by with Alberto Del Rio. She congratulates him on another win over Bad News Barrett on Monday and asks what’s next. Del Rio responds by saying that when you hold gold in the WWE, there is always someone looking to take it from you. He mentions that he heard that Goldust and Chris Jericho, who are about to compete, both have shown interest in winning a title soon and so has the NXT Champion, Adrian Neville. “Barrett is never far away from another shot as long as he has the Authority in his back pocket” says Del Rio. He is interrupted by the sight of the Miz, who says that he better not forget about him. “Unless you forget, I am a former Unite States Champion and I made that title more relevant than anyone that held it before or since.” Del Rio responds by saying that he would give Miz a shot, but then he’d have to break his arm and nobody wants a movie star with one arm. Del Rio winks and walks away, leaving the Miz flustered. CHRIS JERICHO VS. GOLDUST; The vicious streak of Goldust rears it’s ugly head once again as he just lays into Chris Jericho early on. He goes right after Jericho but the former nine time Intercontinental Champion rallies. He goes for the Lionsault but Goldust avoids it. Jericho goes to grab him but is met with an uppercut. Goldust hits the Curtain Call but Jericho somehow gets a shoulder up. Goldust is clearly frustrated and seems to snap. He sets Jericho up in the corner for the Shattered Dreams. The referee tries to prevent it but Goldust ignores him and delivers the kick. Chris Jericho defeats Goldust via disqualification in 9:11!Goldust doesn’t let up, delivering two more kicks to the lower region of Chris Jericho, causing him to fall to the mat. Goldust goes to leave, when a video starts playing, hyping the return of Cody Rhodes in two weeks for their big Steel Cage match on the Raw Season Premiere! This clearly angers Goldust, who leaves with a pissed off look on his face.
Renee Young now interviews the Bella Twins. She asks Brie is she saw what AJ Lee did earlier tonight. Brie says that she did see it, but she isn’t worried. “My sister and I are this entire division and no matter what AJ Lee does to other girls, it doesn’t make a difference to us.” Nikki chimes in, saying that the same goes for Paige. “She will learn the hard way at Night of Champions that being a Diva is what the Bella Twins are all about. I deserve to be the champion. I put this division on the map and am the biggest star. That title is rightfully mine.” NON-TITLE MATCH: ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. BO DALLAS; These two are pretty polar opposites in their attitudes. Tonight, Bo is his usual annoying self but Alberto Del Rio shuts him up with a massive slap to the face. He goes after the arm, looking for the Cross Armbreaker but Bo is able to counteract that by focusing on the midsection. He attempts the Bo and Arrow but Del Rio rolls over into a pinning combination for two. As Bo kicks out, Del Rio transitions right into the Cross Armbreaker! Bo taps out. Alberto Del Rio defeats Bo Dallas in 6:00!Alberto Del Rio raises his United States Championship high in the air, continuing to gain momentum since targeting the belt. Now he has a fair amount of challengers looking his way, but seems more than ready for the challenge.
A video package now airs to hype the upcoming Brock Lesnar/CM Punk mega fight at Night of Champions. We are shown highlights from their SummerSlam 2013 clash and the brawls that led up to it. Both men speak during the video, set to “Title Fight” by Blitz Kids. Brock talks about how he is going to victimize Punk the same way he did Big Show, Undertaker, John Cena and Daniel Bryan this year. Punk says that whatever Brock did this year doesn’t matter to him because he is unlike those other people. “I’m the best in the world. I held that title for 434 days and I’m getting back what’s rightfully mine at Night of Champions.”
Just before the main event, we are taken to footage of Sheamus’ attack on Dolph Ziggler and Adrian Neville after their classic match on Raw the night after SummerSlam. ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. SHEAMUS; Adrian Neville comes out of the gate firing, looking for some revenge on Sheamus. He did promise to get some last week and looks to make good on that promise early on. Sheamus is taken aback by this level of aggressiveness, but pulls Neville into the turnbuckle to stop him. Sheamus now plays the role of the big bully, just pounding away on Neville. He hits most of his signature moves and looks for the Brogue Kick. Neville ducks it and springboards off the ropes with a huge kick of his own. He climbs up for the Red Arrow, but Sheamus moves and Neville crashes hard to the mat. Sheamus signals for the Brogue Kick but again Neville avoids it and pulls him into a strange pinning combination, which is enough to keep the “Celtic Warrior” down. Adrian Neville defeats Sheamus in 11:49!The fans come to their feet for the surprise win by Adrian Neville. He isn’t allowed to celebrate though as Sheamus wallops him and stomps him out. “Here to Show the World” plays as the Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler rushes down to the ring for the save. He trades right hands with Sheamus before ducking one and hitting a big superkick that sends Sheamus packing. Dolph checks on Neville to close this week’s Smackdown.

Monday Night Raw: September 1st, 2014 – Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa
Before any weekly video package or anything like that can hit, the cameras go to the ring, where Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel is set up. Pyro shoots off and Chris Jericho appears atop the stage, before walking down to the ring to host the Highlight Reel. His guest for tonight is unknown at this time. When he enters the ring, he begins to talk about how he was unable to beat Alexander Rusev at SummerSlam and even just this past week, he got kicked a few times in a place he doesn’t like to get kicked. “Since I’ve been struggling as of late, I figured I’d take a night off and host this show. My guest tonight just happens to be one of my all-time greatest rivals and the COO of this company, Triple H!” The crowd boos as Triple H comes out, returning to television for the first time since his loss to CM Punk at SummerSlam. He walks to the ring and grabs a microphone, thanking Jericho to having him on the show. Jericho thanks him for being on and gets right down to business, asking about his plans now that he lost to CM Punk. HHH admits that it was a very tough loss to swallow, but he wants to get back to focusing on being in charge and making the right decisions for the company. “CM Punk kind of opened up my eyes on a few things and maybe I need to start listening to these people a bit more.” The crowd cheers at that, but those sounds change to boos when the music of Mr. Money in the Bank plays as Bad News Barrett comes down to the ring. He enters the ring and goes straight to Triple H, telling him that what the fans think isn’t important. “What the members of the Authority and more specifically, Mr. Money in the Bank think, is much more important. Alberto Del Rio got lucky again last week and is still walking around with my title. What are you going to do about that?” Triple H stands up, the crowd rising to their feet. He tells Barrett that he thinks the WWE Universe would like for him to make a decision about the United States Title that benefits more than just him. “Look, while I said I’m going to listen to these people more than I used to, that doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore the Authority or forget about the past. I remember what Alberto Del Rio did to us. So, how about this? With Night of Champions coming up, Del Rio has to defend the US Title. We’ll make it tough for him. How about he defend it in a Six Pack Challenge? I’ll make sure that you are one of the participants, but who will the other four men be?” HHH stops and looks at Jericho, telling him that he does in fact have a match tonight. “If you and other Superstars tonight impress me enough, you can earn a spot in the Six Pack Challenge. What do you say?” Jericho agrees and looks happy, but Barrett is still not pleased. HHH looks to the crowd, promising a great night of action, and leaves.
Returning, we are taken to a recap from Smackdown, when the Miz interrupted Alberto Del Rio’s interview and became another in a long line of Superstars who stake their claim for a United States Championship shot.
ADRIAN NEVILLE AND ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. GOLDUST AND THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; Odd pairings here tonight, but they all have had their sights set on, or currently have championship gold. Miz is his usual egotistical self, while we continues to see the vicious side of Goldust. They are given a fair amount of time and the heels work a heat on Adrian Neville. He is able to snap off a quick reverse rana and make the hot tag to the United States Champion. He comes in firing on all cylinders, but makes a crucial mistake when going for the Cross Armbreaker. Miz has it well scouted and counters into a school boy, picking up the win. Goldust and the Miz defeat Adrian Neville and Alberto Del Rio in 11:18!
The WWE Universe boos as the Miz slides out of the ring, celebrating his stolen victory. He hugs Summer Rae, while Goldust backs off the apron and exits, though not celebrating with them. Miz motions around his waist and points at Alberto Del Rio, knowing that he’s scored a win over the United States Champion.
Following a commercial break, we are shown a recap of the return of AJ Lee a few weeks back. Next, clips from MizTV last week is shown, where Brie Bella targeted AJ Lee for the things she has said about the Bella Twins. According to the Twitter account of the Bella Twins, we will be hearing about why they are the focal point of the Divas division tonight.
Speaking of this, images of the Bella Twins flash across the screen before the words “Bella Accomplishments” appear. We then see Brie and Nikki sitting down and speaking to the camera. Brie says that they are embody what the Divas division should be built around. Nikki mentions that they have a long list of accomplishments that no other Diva can boast. Photos are shown of them from their modeling days, when they were the “World Cup Twins” and got to take photos with the World Cup itself.
EMMA AND PAIGE VS. THE FUNKADACTYLS; Recently, Emma’s friendship with Paige has caused her more harm than good, as the Bella Twins have taken to attacking her. That is not the case here as the Bella Twins are nowhere to be found, outside of their prior Titantron video, and the Funkadactyls aren’t exactly a well-oiled machine right now. They continue to bicker until Naomi goes for a tag, but Cameron slaps her instead and drops off the apron. Naomi is stunned, which allows Paige to superkick her in the back of the head and tag Emma. Emma applies the Emma Lock and Naomi submits. Emma and Paige defeat the Funkadactyls in 4:30!The fans cheer for the victory by Emma and Paige, especially since Emma got a chance to pick up a rare win. Cameron is actually laughing at her partner at ringside. After Paige and Emma leave, Cameron enters the ring and grabs Naomi’s fallen body by the hair. She holds her in position and delivers a snap DDT that she calls “Girl Bye”, officially cementing the breakup of the Funkadactyls.
An advertisement airs to promote TakeOver: R-Evolution, which comes to you exclusively on the WWE Network on September 11th.
We go backstage to the office of the Authority. Stephanie McMahon is seemingly in the midst of a disagreement with Triple H. She questions why he’s trying to listen to the fans. He remains calm, telling her that things to need to change a bit around here. “I tried to ignore these people but Daniel Bryan beat me, won the WWE Title and held it for months. And you know what? We did some damn good business with that. Now I’m not saying that they are always right, but it would do some good to listen to some of what they say.” Stephanie continues to combat this, saying that they run the show. Nothing is resolved as we cut away.
BO DALLAS VS. CHRIS JERICHO; Chris Jericho got prepared for his match relatively quickly. Bo Dallas offers a handshake at the bell, complete with a wide grin. Jericho reluctantly accepts and it is surprisingly clean. Both men trade offense for a short while, with Bo targeting Jericho’s back. Jericho manages to rally, with the crowd behind him, and puts Bo in the Walls of Jericho. Bo can be hear shouting “I WILL NEVER QUIT!” However, he taps out to end things. Chris Jericho defeats Bo Dallas in 3:12!Des Moines is full of excited fans as Chris Jericho has his arm raised in victory. Commentary mentions that Jericho just did what Triple H mentioned earlier tonight and that was pick up an impressive win. Bo Dallas looks on in disbelief and grabs a microphone. “Silly referee must be mistaken. I told you that I would not quit.” The referee motions that Bo tapped out. “Bo says that he was simply reaching for the bottom rope, but he forgives the referee for his mishap.” Bo taps the official on the back before leaving.
Time for another “Bella Accomplishments” segment. This time, they mention various celebrity appearances that they’ve done. Footage is shown of them on MTV’s Ridiculousness, a music video they appeared in called “Right Side of the Bed” by Atreyu, a film called “Confessions of a Womanizer” and appearances on award shows like the Teen Choice Awards.
We are now taken to a hype video, set to “Title Fight” by Blitz Kids, to promote the war coming up at Night of Champions between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. Highlights of their clash at SummerSlam 2013 is shown, reminding us that this will be a massive brawl.
Returning from commercial, the music of the Shield plays as Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins make their way to the ring for the announcement of Reigns’ partner at Night of Champions. They enter the ring, allow the cheers of the fans to die down and Reigns gets a microphone. He says that he’s though long and hard about who his partner will be. “Dean, you have the type of personality that is needed to beat two men like Randy Orton and Batista. Seth, you and I have won the Tag Team Titles in the past and that chemistry can’t be replicated. With all of that being taken into consideration, as well as looking at what has happened in the past few weeks, I’ve made a decision. At Night of Champions, I’ve got a tag team partner. AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!” The crowd pops, but is also confused. John Cena’s music hits and he comes out, also looking just as confuse as Ambrose and Rollins. When Cena enters the ring, he shakes Roman’s hand and gets a microphone. “Now before the two of you try anything, let me tell you that I had no idea Roman Reigns was going to pick me tonight. I’m out here just as lost as the two of you.” Ambrose and Rollins talk to Reigns, who responds on the microphone, reminding them that Cena has come to their aid last week. “Look, I saw what the Authority was trying to do. They wanted to drive a wedge between us and if I picked one of you, the other one would not have been happy. Instead of letting the Authority win, I chose someone outside of the Shield and who better to pick than John Cena?” Ambrose and Rollins still don’t seem very happy with the decision. Stephanie McMahon’s theme plays as one of the principle owners of the WWE steps onto the stage. She has a sarcastic smile on her face and congratulates Roman Reigns on selecting a tag team partner. “It is now official; at Night of Champions, Randy Orton and Batista will defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Roman Reigns and John Cena. Still though, it doesn’t seem like you managed to avoid driving a wedge between the Shield. Your so called brothers don’t look too happy do they?” Ambrose takes the microphone from Roman and tells Stephanie to shut her trap. “Seth and I may not be happy, but there is no wedge here honey. Didn’t you and your little husband learn that you can’t break this Shield?” The crowd cheers, but Stephanie just laughs off the comment. She then makes our main event for the evening. “We’ll see just how well the four of you can get along as you will all be teaming up tonight. Your opponents will be Mr. Money in the Bank Bad News Barrett, Kane and the Tag Team Champions themselves, Batista and Randy Orton.” Stephanie walks away as her theme plays, leaving tonight’s teammates alone in the ring and you could cut the tension with a knife. ADAM ROSE VS. ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA; It was clearly not party time for Adam Rose, who was already in the ring in a bit of a somber mood. He knows of the tough task ahead of him. He tries his hardest, getting in a fair amount of offense to start, but it takes much more than that to put down Alexander Rusev. Rusev hits a big jumping kick and follows it with his signature offense. He locks in the Accolade and Rose has to tap out. Alexander Rusev defeats Adam Rose in 2:36!Lana enters the ring and gives Alexander Rusev the signal to break the Accolade. He does so and raises his arms, but is interrupted by the theme song of Rob Van Dam. He appears on the stage to a pop from the crowd and has a microphone. He admits that he is normally all about being laid back and cool, but after seeing what Rusev did to Kofi Kingston, he can’t be that way. “Kofi was my tag team partner and my friend and you seem to not care about who you hurt on your way to the top. Why don’t you try and do that to me?” RVD steps forward but Lana has a microphone and stops him, citing that Rusev will be more than happy to crush RVD, but he will do it on his terms. She tells him that Rusev will face him at Night of Champions and not a moment sooner. RVD seems to accept this and tells Rusev to prepare for his first loss.
Returning, Sheamus is in the ring when Dolph Ziggler appears on the Titantron. He mentions that tonight is a special night. “You and I get to ‘pick each other’s poison’ and try to put a tough test in front of the one another. I thought long and hard about who would be a good warm up match for you before our Ironman match at Night of Champions and remembered one of your biggest rivals from a few years back.” The Big Show’s music hits as he comes out and Sheamus looks pissed. BIG SHOW VS. SHEAMUS; These two had a classic back at Hell in a Cell two years ago but this wasn’t on that level, probably due to time and the lack of a World Title on the line. Big Show takes it to Sheamus with loud, hard hitting offense. Sheamus is one tough bastard though, able to withstand this and deliver some of his own. Show takes him out with a side slam and calls for the WMD. Sheamus is able to avoid it though and connects on a huge Brogue Kick. Shockingly, Big Show doesn’t fall, just stumbles. Sheamus bounces off the ropes and hits a second, for the three. Sheamus defeats Big Show in 5:57!As Sheamus lets out a celebratory roar, we are reminded by commentary that he’ll be picking a “poison” for Dolph Ziggler when we return from commercial break.
Another “Bella Accomplishments” vignette is shown, this one focusing on the fact that both girls have reigned as Divas Champion. “Not only are we the only twins in WWE history, but we are also the only siblings to hold the Divas Championship. If that doesn’t make us the focal point of this division, I don’t know what does” says Nikki Bella. Cutting to the ring, Sheamus has a microphone as Dolph Ziggler makes his entrance. Sheamus tells him that at Night of Champions, it is going to be about who can score the most victories in the allotted 30 minutes. “Tonight, we’re going to see just how many pinfalls you can rack up as you run a gauntlet.” DOLPH ZIGGLER RUNS THE GAUNTLET; The music of the Age of Enlightenment hits as Damien Sandow, Titus O’Neil and Xavier Woods come down to the ring. Woods is Dolph Ziggler’s first opponent, and they go through a pretty fast paced back and forth. Woods tries for the Honor Roll clothesline but Dolph ducks and hits the Zig Zag to move on. Sandow quickly enters and attacks, gaining the upper hand. He goes through his offense while Sheamus looks on with a smile. Suddenly though, Dolph is able to pull Sandow into a rollup and score another three count. Sheamus is furious as Titus comes in and clubs away on Dolph. The ever resilient Dolph is able to score with a big superkick though. He is unable to do more though as Sheamus comes in and Brogue Kicks him. Dolph Ziggler defeats the Age of Enlightenment via disqualification in 9:13!Dolph Ziggler is unable to get to his feet as Sheamus is relentless in attacking him, pounding away with right hands. The Age of Enlightenment don’t join in, instead arguing all the way up the ramp. That doesn’t stop Sheamus though, who just continues to beat on Dolph. He picks Dolph’s lifeless body up and drops him with White Noise before holding the Intercontinental Title high in the air.
As a former Smackdown commentator would say, “Well…here comes the pain!” Brock Lesnar, with the WWE Championship on his shoulder, makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman. When they enter the ring, Paul Heyman introduces himself as usual, before directing the attention to the WWE Champion. “Last week, Brock Lesnar was sitting at home and he heard a certain CM Punk spewing verbal diarrhea. He can blame me for his loss to the current WWE Champion at SummerSlam but the fact of the matter is that he was victimized by Brock Lesnar. Just like Daniel Bryan, just like the Big Show, just like John Cena and just like the Undertaker when my client defeated him to become the one in twenty-one in one. Think about that Punk. Brock Lesnar beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania. Last year, were you able to do that? Even with me in your corner, the ‘best in the world’ just wasn’t good enough. At Battleground a few months ago, you tried to win the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan. Did you do that? Nope, once again the ‘best in the world’ just wasn’t good enough. You know who was good enough to take the WWE Title from Daniel Bryan? My client Brock Lesnar.” Heyman continues, saying that CM Punk was always a brash man, but he has bitten off more than he can chew. “This isn’t like last year where you wanted to get your hands on me and I brought Brock to you. You have challenged Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar doesn’t appreciate this bold move and Brock Lesnar will…” We never find out what Brock will do as “Cult of Personality” plays over the speakers. Brock Lesnar sees that CM Punk appears on stage in a hoodie and he unzips it, tossing it aside. He reveals a kendo stick and Brock drops the title, preparing for a fight. The crowd buzzes as Punk slides in the ring, ducks a shot from Brock and nails him in the ribcage with the kendo stick. Punk continues with shots to the back that weaken the Beast and bring him to his knees. He steps back, roars, and goes for a big final swing, but Brock ducks and grabs him for a massive German suplex. Punk elbows out, so Brock turns him around and takes him down to the mat. Brock pulverizes him with some vicious shots, clearly busting Punk’s mouth open. Punk doesn’t give in though and manages to turn the tide with some shots of his own. Officials and security come pouring in from the back and try to separate the men. They have trouble with this though, so some of the locker room have to come out and assist. Punk slips from their grip and leaps onto Brock and the crowd of men holding him back. They finally pull Punk away, but Brock gets free and obliterates Punk and some of the locker room with right hands. Paul Heyman shouts to Brock to try and calm him down, but he wants to hear none of it. They are finally able to start dragging Punk to the back, ending this brawl, but it has become clear that at Night of Champions, we will absolutely witness a title fight.
Returning, a hype video is shown to promote the upcoming Season Premiere of Raw next week. They promise some appearances from WWE legends, announce that Brock Lesnar will again be in attendance for a contract signing with CM Punk and of course, we will see a Steel Cage match between Cody Rhodes and Goldust. With that, a video package is shown, chronicling the history between Cody Rhodes and Goldust. We hear Cody talk about how distant his family was from Goldust while he was growing up, while we see clips of the bizarre early days of Goldust. Footage is shown of Cody Rhodes getting fired last year before Goldust returned to try and win him his job back, before we see them team up to get their jobs back. Their Tag Team Title victory and highlights of their time together is shown, until we see Cody trying his hand at the singles game again, which angered Goldust, leading to their split at Battleground. Cody defeated Goldust at SummerSlam, only for Goldust to attack him after the match, leading Cody to challenge him to this Steel Cage match. It all goes down next Monday.
Backstage, Triple H is shown walking when Alberto Del Rio comes up to him. There is some clear tension but Del Rio says that all he wants to know is what Triple H has decided for Night of Champions. Triple H looks at him for a few seconds before saying that he meant what he said earlier tonight. “I’m still not past what you did to me and the Authority last month. That being said, I think you’re up for the Six Pack Challenge. I’ve decided on your opponents. Obviously, Bad News Barrett will be one of them. The other four men will be Goldust, your partner earlier tonight and the NXT Champion, Adrian Neville, the man who pinned you tonight, the Miz and future WWE Hall of Famer, Chris Jericho. Good luck, champ.” Triple H taps the belt on Del Rio’s shoulder and walks off. AJ LEE VS. ALICIA FOX; The recently returned former WWE Divas Champion has her hands full with another former Divas Champion tonight. Alicia Fox takes it to AJ Lee early on, but misses a quick attempt at the Scissors Kick. This allows AJ to swing the momentum and start going into her trademark offense. AJ bounces off the ropes and tries to lock in the Black Widow, but Alicia is ready and blocks it. AJ finds a way though, scoring with the Shining Wizard and gets the three count. AJ Lee defeats Alicia Fox in 3:51!As the bell rings, AJ Lee gets to her knees and laughs, but things turn sour when the “Bella Accomplishments” video comes on the screen again. The Bella Twins state that their biggest accomplishment is that they have given the Divas division more exposure than anyone with their starring roles on Total Divas. AJ Lee gives a gigantic roll of the eyes when she is suddenly struck from behind. Both Nikki and Brie Bella are in the ring, stomping away at AJ Lee. Paige’s music hits as the WWE Women’s Champion rushes out to make the save. She trades blows with Nikki, but Brie nails her in the back. AJ is able to get up and take Brie down. AJ and Paige work together to send the Bella Twins packing. The crowd roars as Paige and AJ stand united in the ring. Paige and AJ stare at each other for a few moments. AJ picks up the Women’s Title that Paige ran to the ring with and left by the apron. She goes to hand it to Paige, but when Paige reaches to accept it, AJ levels her with it! AJ looks at the Women’s Title with one of her crazed looks. The Bella Twins don’t look too upset about sent out of the ring now, knowing that their biggest rivals seem to dislike each other as much as they dislike the Bellas. BAD NEWS BARRETT, BATISTA, KANE AND RANDY ORTON VS. JOHN CENA AND THE SHIELD; Before the bell even rings, it is clear that there are issues between the Shield and John Cena. They can’t agree on who starts the match, so Roman Reigns just steps forward and makes the decision for everyone that he’s starting. The match goes for a while, with both teams getting to hit their signature moves. Following a commercial break, the Authority start to wear down Seth Rollins and really cut the ring in half, taunting Cena and the rest of the Shield throughout. Finally, Rollins is able to make a hot tag, bringing in Reigns. He comes in, hitting all of his big moves on everyone, including the apron dropkick and Superman punch. He looks for the Spear, but instead tags in Cena. Cena nails the Five Knuckle Shuffle and calls for the Attitude Adjustment. Rollins and Reigns start fighting outside with the illegal members of the Authority. Before Cena can hit the AA though, Dean Ambrose tags himself in on Cena’s back. Cena is confused at this, but is pulled outside by Kane. Ambrose goes for Dirty Deeds on Orton, but Orton was given enough time to catch his breath and counters it into an RKO to end the match. Bad News Barrett, Batista, Kane and Randy Orton defeat John Cena and the Shield in 16:52!The WWE Universe boos loudly as Randy Orton and the Authority are declared the victors. The rest of the Authority back away from the outside brawl and celebrate up the ramp. John Cena, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins enter the ring, bickering. Reigns tries to keep the peace while Rollins and Cena argue a Dean Ambrose is down in the ring. “The Authority are together as a unit, while John Cena and the Shield are clearly on a different page. This does not bode well for Night of Champions” says Michael Cole.

WWE NXT: September 4th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Opening things tonight, we go straight to the weekly opening video package. Cutting to the pumped Full Sail Arena, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and the lovely Renee Young welcome everyone to the broadcast. They promise a jam packed show tonight and tell us that Adrian Neville and Corey Graves will be face to face tonight, just seven days before they meet at Takeover: R-Evolution. Not only that, but many of the NXT Superstars and Divas will be heard from heading into the big show. BAYLEY AND CHARLOTTE VS. BECKY LYNCH AND SASHA BANKS; When Becky Lynch made her debut, she upset Sasha Banks, but has since hit a bit of a roadblock. She teams with Sasha here and they work surprisingly well together. A more aggressive side of Becky is seen throughout, as the she and Sasha cut the ring in half to focus their attack on Bayley. She’s able to slip free and make the hot tag to the NXT Women’s Champion. Charlotte fires on all cylinders and knocks Sasha out of the ring. She then hits Natural Selection and gets the win. Bayley and Charlotte defeat Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in 4:11!The fans cheer for the victory, while Sasha Banks looks on in disgust. Bayley and Charlotte hug as Sasha gets in the ring. She gets in Charlotte’s face, but Bayley steps in between them and keeps her back. Sasha gives a slight smirk and slaps the taste out of Bayley’s mouth. Charlotte goes after her, but Sasha quickly backs out of the ring, mocking both girls on her way up the ramp.
We now go to a sit down interview with Tyler Breeze. “Prince Pretty” is asked about his upcoming match with Kalisto and what brought it about. “Ugh, what kind of a stupid question is that?” asks Tyler. He says that he made it clear when he said that he is trying to get rid of all of the uggos in NXT and the world. “That starts with Kalisto. I mean, the man is so brutally hideous that he has to hide behind an equally ugly mask. I am not only going to beat him, but I am going to rip that mask away and expose his gross mug to the entire world.”
An ad is run to promote TakeOver: R-Evolution, a live two hour special coming to you from Full Sail University, next week.
Another sit down interview is conducted, this one with Evan Bourne. He is asked about Solomon Crowe’s claims that he is the “old” in NXT. Evan gives a chuckle saying that couldn’t be further from the truth. He reminds everyone that he is no old man and his career is not what one would call old. “I was sidetracked by an injury but I was sure to not let that stop me. It may sound cliché but Evan Bourne has been ‘reborn’. It starts here in NXT and Solomon Crowe will experience that first hand.” KALISTO VS. SYLVESTER LEFORT W/ MARCUS LOUIS; The Legionnaires put their best foot forward to try and thwart Kalisto’s momentum heading into TakeOver. However, the high flier is ready for Sylvester Lefort’s offense and even takes out Marcus Louis with a baseball slide. He then hits Salida Del Sol to earn the victory. Kalisto defeats Sylvester Lefort in 2:20!“LU-CHA” is heard as Kalisto gets to his feet and does his taunt along with the cheers of the crowd. He looks more than ready for his big matchup with Tyler Breeze next week at TakeOver.
Time for another sit down interview, this time with the NXT Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. We hear them talk about their history together and how this isn’t the first set of Tag Team Titles that they’ve won together. Kevin Owens says, “The Ascension are one hell of a tag team. There’s a reason they held the belts for nearly a year. But they learned, just like the rest of the roster, that we are different from anyone they’ve faced before.” Owens then seems to turn a bit, saying that since he’s arrived here, he won the Tag Titles and since then, has been asked more dumb questions than had actual matches. He gets up and leaves. Sami apologizes for his behavior and says that heading into their first title defense at TakeOver can be a bit stressful.
It’s time for our final vignette with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady during their travel to Queens, New York. We actually see them in Florida and not Queens anymore. They arrive at the Performance Center with the girl they were introduced to in Queens, Carmella. Various clips are shown of her doing things in the ring and working out, while Enzo and Cass talk over on the side. “Dude, she is the hottest chick I’ve ever seen in a ring. We gotta bring her to the ring with us.” Cass is a little skeptical, saying that Enzo may not be able to concentrate with her around. Enzo looks at her in the ring and responds, “NOBODY WOULD BE ABLE TO CONCENTRATE INCLUDING OUR OPPONENTS.” Carmella and the girl she’s working with in the ring, as well as everyone in the Performance Center look up at Enzo’s shouts. Cass tells him that they’ll bring her, but he gotta learn to keep his cool. MOJO RAWLEY VS. SOLOMON CROWE; After a relatively hot start to his career, the run of Mojo Rawley has cooled off. Solomon Crowe is the red hot Superstar now and looks forward to the biggest match of his young career in one week. He goes after Mojo’s leg viciously, setting up for the Stretch Muffler. When he locks it in, it scores him the win. Solomon Crowe defeats Mojo Rawley in 2:44!Solomon Crowe has his arm raised in victory, bobbing his head to his theme music. He heard the words said by Evan Bourne earlier tonight and understands that there is a tough task ahead of him at TakeOver. Will be complete the takeover of his own?
A special video package airs to promote the main event for TakeOver: R-Evolution between Adrian Neville and Corey Graves. The video is set to “Thorn” by Favorite Weapon and goes all the way back to the NXT Tag Team Title run that both men shared. After that, each guy went their separate ways on different paths. The aggressive Graves ran through competition, including Sami Zayn, on his way to becoming the number one contender. Neville got the fans behind him and captured the NXT Title at ArRival earlier this year, putting these men on a collision course for that NXT Championship.
Our final sit down interview of the evening comes up, with Sasha Banks. She is asked about not only being the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship but about facing her former BFF. Sasha states that Charlotte was never her BFF. “Yes, we were in the same group but we were never friends. She, just like Summer Rae, was a means to an end. Having the daughter of Ric Flair by my side was a smart play. That time is over though. The Women’s Title is all that matters now. I’ve wanted this since I was 10 years old. I’ve worked my ass off to not only become the best female that this company has ever seen, but to be the Boss that I say I am. At TakeOver, Charlotte is going to learn that when it comes to this business and that title, it’s my world and you’re all just spectators.” CURT HAWKINS VS. KEVIN OWENS; During his sit down interview earlier, Kevin Owens was sure to mention that he wants to fight more and talk less. He gets a chance to fight here. The main roster veteran and former Tag Team Champion himself, Curt Hawkins, is able to score a few near falls on some rollups. Kevin Owens is so much different from his tag team partner though, showing off such a vicious side. He finishes Hawkins off with the popup powerbomb. Kevin Owens defeats Curt Hawkins in 3:16!The fans cheer for the win by Kevin Owens. He gets his arm raised by the official, but doesn’t celebrate long, choosing to leave the ring. When he reaches the top of the ramp, he turns to hold his NXT Tag Team Title high in the air. The Ascension run out and club him from behind. Sami Zayn rushes out to even things out but Konnor is prepared for this and levels Sami with a sick clothesline. The Ascension stand over the fallen Tag Team Champions as the fans boo loudly.
An ad airs to promote Night of Champions, which comes to you live on the WWE Network on September 21st, 2014 from Nashville, Tennessee. MASON RYAN VS. STEVE CUTLER; Once again, Mason Ryan is here to dominate his opponent. He hits one offensive move before nailing his finisher and winning in incredibly fast time. Mason Ryan defeats Steve Cutler in 0:19!Commentary is sure to mention that the quick victory by Mason Ryan was similar to the one by new Superstar Baron Corbin last week. Of course, Ryan has been doing this for more than a few weeks now and it looks like there is no end in sight.
Hype is shown for this Monday’s “Season Premiere” of Monday Night Raw. Cody Rhodes faces Goldust in a Steel Cage match, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk have their contract signing, John Cena and Roman Reigns team up and so much more! SIN CARA VS. TYSON KIDD; Two of the most athletically gifted Superstars in NXT or even the entire WWE go at it here. Sin Cara looks to take to the skies but Tyson Kidd wisely goes after his leg to stop that. It also sets him up for the Sharpshooter. Sin Cara has it well scouted, blocking it twice and reaching the ropes once. He goes for a springboard cross body but Kidd is ready with a kick to the midsection. He nails a swinging fisherman neckbreaker for the 1-2-3. Tyson Kidd defeats Sin Cara in 5:26!The NXT Universe gives a mixed reaction to Tyson Kidd’s win. They chant “Nattie’s Husband”, even though Natalya is absent from ringside. Tyson ignores them, but his reaction grows disappointed when the tron shows another Hideo Itami vignette. We see him working out at the Performance Center again before the words flash across the screen again saying that he’s coming next week. When the video ends, a pissed off Tyson Kidd leaves the ring in a bad mood.
The music of Adrian Neville plays as the NXT Champion makes his way down to the ring for the face to face with Corey Graves. Graves follows to a mixed reaction and stands across from Neville in the middle of the ring. Neville has a microphone and goes to speak but Graves snatches it from him, drawing “oohs” from the crowd. He says that everyone gets to hear and see Neville on Mondays, Thursdays and Friday nights on Raw, NXT and Smackdown. “Nobody needs to hear from you anymore than they already do, so I’m going to talk. Ever since the day I arrived in NXT, people have overlooked me. Maybe it’s because of the way I look or the way I talk, but guys like me were passed over while guys like you and Sami Zayn were given all of the shine. Hell, even when he had the Tag Team Titles, everybody focused on you and acted like I was some hanger on that was just there for the ride.” Corey mentions that he got injured and missed ArRival but had to sit at home and watch Neville win the NXT Title. “The NXT Title that should have been mine. You know, I planned on coming out here, telling you all of this and slapping on Lucky 13 until you begged for mercy.” Neville readies himself for action at these words but Corey doesn’t attack, saying that he wants Adrian at 100% for TakeOver. “There will be no excuses when I take that title and my rightful place atop NXT.” Corey slams the microphone into Adrian’s chest and walks off, leaving the champion speechless. Adrian looks around, with nothing to say as the crowd watches Corey leave. “The tension between these two has never been higher” states Tom Phillips.

The number one contenders team up!In a shocking moment this past Monday on Raw, Roman Reigns made his decision for a tag team partner at Night of Champions and selected John Cena. His Shield brothers, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, were the expected picks but the Cena choice was done to save the Shield from in-fighting. This Friday night on Smackdown, the new tandem partners up for the very first time. Cena and Reigns do battle with the Director of Operations Kane and Mr. Money in the Bank, Bad News Barrett!
