WWE Payback: June 1st, 2014 - Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois
The Kickoff Show opens with shots of the crowd filing in at the Allstate Arena before our panel of Renee Young, Josh Matthews, Alex Riley and Alberto Del Rio welcome us. They go over the card, discussing each match and giving recaps of the feuds that led us here. Alberto Del Rio spends his time bringing up much of a travesty it is that he isn’t competing tonight. We also get a backstage interview with the WWE Divas Champion about her first defense. After she discusses how big of a night this is for her, we go to the ring for our Kickoff Match. The “Ravishing Russian” Lana makes her way to the stage to a mixed reaction from the WWE Universe. She introduces the “Super Athlete” Alexander Rusev, and they walk down to the ring. She brings up the Invitational so far, reminding everyone that there is a $5000 prize if you can survive at least five minutes with Rusev. “Your legends have been unable to do it. Your tag teams have been unable to do it. Who wants to give it a shot tonight?” Silence is heard as nobody comes out to answer, making Lana laugh. That laugh stops when the music of Booker T hits to a major pop from the crowd. The Hall of Famer walks out in complete ring gear as Rusev and Lana are completely taken aback. THE ALEXANDER RUSEV INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV VS. BOOKER T; The crowd in Chicago is completely buzzing as Booker T stands across from Alexander Rusev. When the bell rings, Rusev charges, but Booker ducks and begins to reel off some right hands. “I know that Rusev has overcome legends like Jim Duggan, but Booker T is a whole different ball game. He is still in fantastic shape” explains Jerry Lawler. Booker busts out some of his classic high kicks, knocking Rusev to the outside. He looks up at the clock and sets for the Spinaroonie. The crowd is going insane as he pulls it off, just as Rusev gets back in the ring. Booker looks to go back on the offensive, but Rusev is ready and snaps off a belly to belly suplex. He begins to pound away on Booker as the crowd starts to deflate. Rusev signals for the Accolade, but Booker slips out from under him and nails the Scissors Kick! “That could it be King!” exclaims Michael Cole. Booker covers but Rusev kicks out, though it’s the first near fall on Rusev during this Invitational. Booker sets for it again but Rusev nearly decapitates him with a superkick. He manages to apply the Accolade and Booker has no choice but to submit. Alexander Rusev defeats Booker T!The “Bulgarian Brute” gets to his feet and looks up at the clock, which shows 4:17. Lana enters and raises his arm as Booker T was unsuccessful in winning the Alexander Rusev Invitational, but gave it a spirited try and came closer than anybody else so far. Rusev pumps his chest while Lana smiles at the fans, who boo mercilessly as his dominance continues.
Our official Pay-Per-View opens with a video package set to the song “Ticking Bomb” by Aloe Blacc, centered on the three big matches for tonight. We start with clips of the months long rivalry between Bray Wyatt and John Cena which comes to a head in their rubber match tonight, where one man will leave in an ambulance. Next, we see highlights of the wars that have gone down between the Shield and Evolution, including their involvement in War Games. Lastly, Kane turning from Corporate Director of Operations back into the Demon is focused on, as is his attempted attack on Brie Bella. Daniel Bryan comes to her aid and goes to war with the Big Red Machine over the past few weeks. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome us to the show, citing that the Allstate Arena is sold out and rocking as always. After introducing our Spanish announce team, we head to the ring for our first match! WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – CHRISTIAN (C) VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. BAD NEWS BARRETT; The crowd reaction for the arrival of Dolph Ziggler is huge as the Chicagoans seems to love him. He rubs his Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy for good luck before entering the ring. The three men stand across from each other as the bell sounds. Christian immediately tries to make the veteran move of convincing Bad News Barrett to join forces with him. Barrett seems to like the idea and they go after Ziggler. He valiantly tries to hold them off, but the numbers game is too much. With him down, Christian and Barrett high five but both guys kick each other in the gut. “I guess that’s what happens when two snakes try to team up” says Jerry Lawler. They begin to trade shots until Dolph joins the fray with a loud superkick on Barrett, before a jumping DDT on Christian. Dolph gets to his feet and beats his chest as the crowd roars for him. With both of his opponents on the mat, Dolph decides to go into his heart attack elbow drop series, hitting each guy one after the other and ending with a huge double elbow. Both guys kick out of his pin attempt though. He puts both guys in opposite corners and hits Barrett with a splash. He goes to do the same to Christian, but the Champion dodges and nails his signature kick. Christian comes off the top with a sunset flip for two. He charges at Barrett, but is caught in the Winds of Change. Barrett goes for the cover but Dolph leaps on his back with the sleeper hold. Barrett begins to fade as Christian gets to his feet. Christian pulls Dolph off and plants him with a reverse DDT. “The wily veteran may have just found a way to sneak out with his title” says Michael Cole. He covers but Dolph kicks out, so he turns his attention to Barrett, who is reeling from the sleeper. He goes for the Killswitch but Barrett shoves him off and catches him with the Bull Hammer as he comes back off the ropes. Barrett covers but Dolph uses what little energy he has to pull him off. “A complete desperation move by Dolph Ziggler there” says Michael Cole. Barrett is pissed and he puts Dolph on his shoulders for the Wasteland. Dolph wriggles free and connects on a superkick that knocks Barrett out of the ring. Christian is slowly getting to his feet as the crowd come to theirs. Dolph points at Christian before planting him with the Zig Zag to secure the win! Dolph Ziggler defeats Christian and Bad News Barrett to win the WWE United States Championship! The Allstate Arena comes unglued as Dolph Ziggler’s hot 2014 continues. Not only did he win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania, but now he captures the United States Championship for the second time in his career. The referee hands Dolph the title while Bad News Barrett looks on furiously. He knows how close he was to winning gold tonight, only for it to slip away. Dolph heads outside to celebrate with the front row, as Christian is on the verge of tears in the ring. His greatest fear of someone taking his title and potentially his spot, has happened.
Going backstage, Renee Young is standing by with the Brotherhood. She asks them for their thoughts heading into the Tag Team Turmoil match later tonight. Goldust speaks first, saying that it is time for he and Cody Rhodes to regain their titles. Cody adds, “You know, when we rejoined last year for the sake of our jobs, I didn’t expect us to take off the way we did. But we went out and were the best tag team in all of the WWE. Since the turn of 2014 though, I haven’t liked the way we’ve been going and tonight, we get back on track.” Cody heads off, leaving Goldust a bit perturbed at his comments about the team.
CESARO VS. JACK SWAGGER; Tensions for this one have been building since WrestleMania and exploded at Extreme Rules last month. Since then, Jack Swagger has ferociously targeted Cesaro’s ankle, injuring it in the process. That wisely is his focus tonight as he attacks it from the get go. “If Jack Swagger is able to apply the Patriot Lock I believe this will end quickly” says John “Bradshaw” Layfield. While he isn’t able to get the hold on, it doesn’t stop him from ruthlessly working the ankle. He stomps on it, pounds on it and wraps it around the ring post. When he goes for the Patriot Lock, Cesaro rolls forward to send him into the corner. “This could possibly be the opening that Cesaro needs” says JBL. He is fired up as he charges in with a big uppercut, though since he can’t get much on his run, it’s not quite as impactful as it could be. Cesaro sets up Swagger on top but when he goes up, Swagger elbows him. He gets down onto the apron and goes to shove Cesaro but he holds on. Cesaro fires back before dead lifting Swagger from the apron into a huge superplex, garnering a major pop from the fans. Cesaro gets up and cranks his neck before setting up for the Neutralizer. Swagger back drops him out of it, going back for the Patriot Lock. He locks it in and Cesaro is writing in pain. He is able to roll forward again, but this time into a rollup for two. As Swagger kicks out, Cesaro doesn’t let go and gets to his feet. He swings Swagger around twelve times to a major pop from the fans. Somehow unfazed by the spins, Cesaro goes right into the Neutralizer for the 1-2-3. Cesaro defeats Jack Swagger!Cesaro stumbles to the ropes after hearing the bell, as his ankle is still not at 100%, but he does earn a victory tonight. Zeb Colter looks absolutely heartbroken at ringside, but the crowd has the opposite emotion going right now. “Cesaro can finally put the Real Americans behind him and focus on what is sure to be bright things in his very near future” says Michael Cole.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – SHEAMUS (C) VS. BIG E; Last month, these two met on Pay-Per-View with the roles reversed. Sheamus was the aggressive challenger but this time it is Big E. As they come face to face, Big E straight up slaps Sheamus. This angers the “Celtic Warrior”, who takes a big swing but Big E ducks and backs him into the corner. There, Big E nails some shoulder thrusts but that their action doesn’t stay in the ring long. They find their way outside where Big E drops Sheamus on the guardrail. “With how badly Big E wants his belt back, it’s no surprise how physical this has been” says Jerry Lawler. The brawl continues on the outside, with Sheamus turning the tide by sending Big E into the steel steps. Unlike Extreme Rules, Sheamus is able to hit the Beats of Bodhran uninterrupted. When he pulls Big E in the ring, he tries the Brogue Kick but Big E ducks, comes off the ropes and levels the Champion with the E-Train. Sheamus falls to the apron, so Big E goes for his spear but Sheamus dodges and Big E crashes and burns on the outside. “There is the high risk that comes with a move like that” explains JBL. Sheamus wants the official to speed up his count as he’ll gladly take a countout victory. Big E is able to just roll back in at the count of nine, infuriating the “Celtic Warrior”. Sheamus hits the Finlay roll for two before hoisting him up for White Noise. Big E is able to slide out and come back with a belly to belly suplex. Both guys are down though when Big E gets up he noticed his opening and the straps are down. He manages to hit the Big Ending, but before he can pin, Sheamus rolls to the apron. Big E desperately tries to bring him inside, but by the time he’s able to, Sheamus can kick out. At a bit of a loss for what to do next, he bounces off the ropes for a big splash but Sheamus gets his knees up. He gets up and connects on the Brogue Kick, sending Big E into the corner. As he stumbles out, Sheamus nails White Noise which is enough to retain. Sheamus defeats Big E to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship!
As the official brings Sheamus’ Intercontinental Title to him, which he snatches violently, the fans boo loudly. The Authority’s “Celtic Warrior” is successful in his first title defense though it took a lot to beat Big E once again. Sheamus poses with the gold on the second rope. Big E is still on the mat, looking very dazed as it seems like he hasn’t yet noticed what just happened but he once again fought valiantly.
A video package airs that recaps the feud between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. It starts way back at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, where the Wyatt Family cost John Cena two separate shots at the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Bray called John a “false prophet” and defeated him at WrestleMania. Cena refused to give up, but Bray promised to bring out the monster that lies within John. At Extreme Rules, they met in a Last Man Standing match where Cena had to do something drastic to win, showing some of that monster. The next night on Raw, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan Chokeslammed Cena off the stage, sending him out in an ambulance. Cena returned to challenge Bray to one more match, which Bray only accepted so he could take the few Cenation stragglers left behind under his wing. AMBULANCE MATCH – BRAY WYATT VS. JOHN CENA; In the midst of Bray Wyatt’s eerier entrance, John Cena attacks, proving how badly he wants to get his hands on him. Cena wallops him with offense on the outside, whipping him into the guardrails twice. “Up by the aisle, those rails are not padded like they are down here” explains JBL. Bray turns things around with a short arm clothesline. Noticeable by their absence are Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The fight between these two continues around the ring, where Bray throws Cena over the announce table. Bray runs across the English announce table and takes out Cena once he gets to his feet on the Spanish table with a huge body block. Both men crash to the floor, but Bray is first up. “These guys may both end up in the hospital tonight” says Michael Cole. They go into the ring for a bit, where Bray continues to dissect Cena. He does his exorcist walk, but Cena is no longer weirded out by this and he strikes Bray to knock him down. The fight moves up to the entrance, near the ambulance. Bray is the first to attempt the win by tossing Cena inside, but the 14 time World Champion busts out with a chair and whacks Bray in the back. He now puts Bray in the ambulance, closing one door, but Bray gets out of the other. Cena pulls the stretcher out from the ambulance, but Bray strikes first and lays him on it. He runs it into the ambulance and Cena gets launched inside. Bray is slow to close the doors but does shut them. However, before the second one closed, Cena made his way out of the front of the ambulance! “Bray Wyatt thinks he’s won but look at Cena” shouts Cole. Cena smashes Bray’s face into the ambulance before climbing atop. He dares Bray to join him, though the heavy boos from the fans seem to bug him. Bray climbs and they trade shots. Cena gets Bray hoisted up for the Attitude Adjustment, when the Wyatt signature hits. The lights are out for a while, but when they come back on, a choir of children are standing in the entrance. They are all wearing Cena armbands but have Erick Rowan’s sheep mask on. They begin to sing “He’s got the Whole Cenation in his Hands”. Cena drops Bray as he watches the creepy scene play out, looking stunned, scared, worried and confused all at once. The distraction allows Bray to recover and hit Sister Abigail on top of the ambulance! Cena rolls off the top and hits the floor, while Wyatt laughs looking down. He gets down, places Cena in the ambulance and slams both doors shut. Bray Wyatt defeats John Cena!
The crowd lets out a pop for Bray Wyatt’s victory. The kids have continued to sing through this whole thing until Bray points in their direction to stop. They stop instantly as Bray heads over and stands in the middle of them. He puts his arms out and screams “FOLLOW THE BUZZARDS” as the crowd continues to give a mixed reaction and the camera pans over to show some children hiding in their parent’s shoulders, in tears and some women stunned. The ambulances starts to take off to the back, while Bray Wyatt laughs manically. “Has Bray Wyatt really destroyed the Cenation? Are they really his now?” asks Michael Cole.
Cutting away, an advertisement runs for Total Divas. The Season Finale of it airs tonight but you can catch the replay at 11PM after Payback, only on E! WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. TAMINA SNUKA; Since becoming the youngest Divas Champion in history two weeks ago, Paige has had a target on her back and Tamina Snuka has been taking aim. Despite the strange circumstances of the previous bout, the crowd is red hot for the “Anti-Diva”. Surprisingly, it is Paige who is the early aggressor. She backs her into the corner and stomps away before screaming to the delight of the fans. “We’ve seen many things from our young Divas Champion, but this is a new aggressive streak and I gotta say…I like it” says JBL. Paige goes for her series of knee strikes on the apron but Tamina blocks and just shoves her off and to the outside hard. Outside, Tamina rams her into the guardrail a few times before rolling her inside. Once there, Tamina delivers a backbreaker and focuses on that part of the champion’s body. She hammers away on Paige, who is able to weather the storm, but as she begins to rally, Tamina wipes her out with a loud superkick. “Paige could be out cold here” says Jerry Lawler. Tamina covers but the resilient champion gets her shoulder up. Tamina climbs up for the splash, but Paige is able to stop her. With both girls up top, Paige comes off with a big superplex that surprises the crowd. Both girls are slow to their feet, but when they get up, Paige hits a kick to the gut and the Paige Turner. She then rolls Tamina over and manages to get the PTO locked in! She struggles with Tamina size but she is forced to tap out. Paige defeats Tamina Snuka to retain the WWE Divas Championship!
Cheers rain in over the Allstate Arena as Paige lets go of the submission and stumbles back. She gets her Divas Championship and raises it high in the air. Paige shows that she is no fluke as she successfully defends her newly won title for the first time. “With AJ Lee gone and Tamina Snuka now behind her, one has to wonder what is next for our 21 year old Divas Champion” asks Michael Cole.
After an ad for Mountain Dew Kickstart airs, we go back to the arena when a familiar voice is heard. “Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman.” The fans leap to their feet for the arrival of Paul Heyman. As he steps out to the stage, “Heyman” chants are heard. He looks around waiting for them to die down. He says that he is here as the advocate of the ultimate Paul Heyman guy. This leads the Chicago crowd to chant “CM Punk” loudly, so Heyman smirks and replies, “No not that guy, that guy is over in the United Center watching your Blackhawks lose.” Heyman laughs before continuing, claiming that he’s here to remind us of something. “In case anyone forgot, though you shouldn’t have…my client Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania!” After the fans boo some more, Heyman continues, “Now obviously that’s not the only reason I’m here. You could all go relive that moment for just $9.99 on the WWE Network. What I am here to tell you is that Brock Lesnar is coming back soon. He’s at home right now, waiting for the right prize fight to come around but when it does, I guarantee you that the Beast who destroyed Big Show at the Royal Rumble and the Beast who killed the Deadman at WrestleMania, will be more dominant than ever.” Heyman claims that tonight, he’s scouting backstage for a potential new Paul Heyman guy or girl and we will be seeing him again real soon.
A video package is shown to chronicle the rivalry between Evolution and the Shield. We see both teams at some of their most dominant. Evolution destroying Goldberg and various other Superstars from the mid 2000’s, while the Shield is seen taking out the Rock, the Undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton and more. We are then taking to clips of their wars against each other including War Games and the main event of Raw two weeks ago between Roman Reigns and Triple H. It all comes down to tonight.
NO HOLDS BARRED – EVOLUTION VS. THE SHIELD; As the ring announcements are made, Lillian Garcia mentions this will be No Holds Barred. “When did that become a rule?” asks Michael Cole. If the decision was made by the Authority, the Shield seem to have no qualms with it. Both teams stand across the ring from each other before charging and colliding in the middle. The action spills outside where Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose come off the ropes and hit stereo suicide dives! They break off from each other as Roman Reigns and Triple H brawl in the ring, while Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton and Batista go through the crowd. Both teams just trade shots until Orton and Ambrose make it back to ringside, where Orton gets him on the guardrail and hits his signature DDT. He rolls him inside for a pin, but Reigns breaks it. The match slows down to involve tags, with Evolution choosing to pick apart Ambrose, who is still feeling the effects of the DDT. Each member of Evolution gets a chance to show off against him, as he can’t make the hot tag. Tired of waiting, Reigns drops from the apron, runs around the ring and dropkicks Orton. All hell breaks loose again as the Spanish announce table gets cleared off, before Rollins slingshots Orton onto it. The Shield then call for the Triple Powerbomb through it, but Triple H breaks that up with a vicious chair shot to Reigns’ back. “Things are about to get uglier now that weapons have come into play” says JBL. He then whacks Ambrose with it too, but Seth ducks a shot and nails the Pele kick. The numbers game is too much though as he gets beat down. Evolution gives us a replay of two Mondays ago when they hoist up Roman Reigns for a Triple Powerbomb, but it’s through the announce table! “My god, Roman Reigns is broken in half” screams Lawler. Evolution, in firm control, drag Seth and Dean up by the entrance, looking to do even more damage. Triple H goes to the side of the stage and pulls out the sledgehammer. They turn the focus to Ambrose, as Triple H drives the sledgehammer into his ribs multiple times. He gives the thumbs up signal for the Triple Powerbomb again. “Not on the concrete!” exclaims Cole. Before that can lift him, Seth Rollins climbed the entrance stage and leaps off with a massive cross body that takes out everyone! They make it back to the ring, where Seth goes for the Curb Stomp but Batista catches him in midair with a spinebuster! He covers but only gets two. Evolution, even after all of this, is still in control as Orton slides the steel steps into the ring. Ambrose pops up with a flurry of right hands on him as they brawl outside. Triple H grabs Seth for a Pedigree on the steps, but Reigns is back up! He slides in, taking out Batista with a Superman punch before doing the same to Triple H. On the outside, Dean plants Orton with Dirty Deeds, while inside, Seth puts down Batista with a perfect Curb Stomp. Both men enter the ring, surrounding Triple H. “Uh-oh, the COO is in a bad way” says Cole. He notices this and tries to plead his case with the Shield, who want no part of it. Reigns charges and nearly rips him in half with a vicious spear! They call for it and nail the Triple Powerbomb on Triple H. Reigns covers, earning the three to end this war. The Shield defeats Evolution!
Broken bodies surround the ring, but the Shield have prevailed. Roman Reigns screams as he gets to his feet, while his brothers come around him and they all put their fists together. “That was an absolute war. Who’s to say the Shield aren’t the greatest faction in WWE history?” asks JBL. The Shield exit the ring, but are still clearly in pain. Dean Ambrose is limping and Seth Rollins holds his back as they head up the entrance following their hardest fought victory ever.
A commercial is shown for Money in the Bank. It comes to you live on June 29th, 2014 on Pay-Per-View and the WWE Network from Boston, Massachusetts.
The WWE Tag Team Champions, the Usos, make their way down to the ring to sit at ringside and watch the upcoming Tag Team Turmoil match. Remember, the winners of this match will become the top contenders for the Tag Team Titles. TAG TEAM TURMOIL – THE BROTHERHOOD VS. RYBAXEL; Starting us off is two teams that have faced off several times in the past. Cody Rhodes and Goldust, judging by their interview earlier tonight, are looking to right the ship and they do a good job of that early here. They work some crisp double team moves and seem to be absolutely on their game. Ryback proves to be a difference maker though, as he utilizes his power to turn the tables on the former WWE Tag Team Champions. He gets some “Feed Me More” chants as he builds up for the Meat Hook clothesline, which wallops Goldust. They continue to work him over until the tag comes to Cody Rhodes. He comes in hot, spouting off springboard moves, a throat thrust and capping it all with a gorgeous moonsault on Curtis Axel. Ryback charges, but Goldust pulls down the bottom rope on him before following out with a front flip off the apron! Cody hits the Cross Rhodes to advance! “Cody Rhodes and Goldust advance but a new team is on their way out right now” explains Michael Cole. THE BROTHERHOOD VS. LOS MATADORES; El Torito and Los Matadores rush down to the ring to try and get a jump start. The Brotherhood, reeling from the last bout, are unable to keep up with the speed of Los Matadores. Diego and Fernando nail some fast paced offense that earn them multiple near falls. Diego nails a second rope dropkick that gets a really close two. They connect on a double Russian leg sweep for two, before signaling for El Picador. Goldust enters to stop this from happening, taking out Fernando with an elbow very reminiscent of his daddy. Diego goes after him, but Cody finds the opening to nail the Disaster Kick and pin him for the 1-2-3! THE BROTHERHOOD VS. 3MB; As 3MB walk to the ring, they laugh at Los Matadores exiting. El Torito takes it upon himself to bite Heath Slater in the rear, bringing laughs from the crowd. “These shenanigans are giving Cody Rhodes and Goldust some time to rest” explains Jerry Lawler. When they do start, it turns out to be Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre competing. They take cheap shots and try some underhanded tricks to gain the upper hand. However, it doesn’t prove to be enough as Mahal falls victim to the Curtain Call, eliminating them. THE BROTHERHOOD VS. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM; “Something has gotten into Cody Rhodes and Goldust as they have now eliminated three straight teams” says JBL. The crowd comes alive for Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston, as the high flying duo her certainly won over the masses. Cody and Kofi begin, exchanging some stuff, with Kofi getting the advantage due to Cody being worn down. Kingston and RVD bust out a variation of Rolling Thunder, which involved Kofi hitting the Boom Drop. “King, RVD and Kofi are calling that the Booming Thunder” explains Cole. That is only enough for two as the Brotherhood continue to fight valiantly. RVD gets in some shots but when he tries the split legged moonsault, Cody rolls out and tags his older brother. Goldust continues to show incredible athleticism for his age, staying with Kofi at every step. Kofi hits an enziguri that sends Goldust to the corner and Cody tags back in. He comes in with a clothesline, but Kofi ducks and connects with Trouble in Paradise to advance. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM VS THE WYATT FAMILY; Before the Wyatts arrive, the fans give the Brotherhood a hand for their efforts tonight. Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston offer handshakes. Goldust accepts, but Cody looks around, backs away and leaves them hanging as he exits in disappointment. The Wyatt signature hits as they arrive in the ring. This has a completely different feel to anything else in the turmoil match so far. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are so big, brutal and violent that RVD and Kingston get tossed around from the start. They are reeling, leading to Harper and Rowan focusing on Kingston. They cut the ring in half and isolate him. Harper brings out some impactful moves including a gator roll and sidewalk slam. Rowan nails a surprising spin kick but when he tries a full nelson slam, Kofi slips out and hits the SOS, giving him an opening. He makes the hot tag to RVD, who flies in with a big kick. Harper runs in, but Kofi is able to muster up the strength to take him out with Trouble in Paradise! He turns to Rowan and gives him one as well, as RVD climbs up top. He comes off with a big Five Star Frog Splash and that’s all she wrote. Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston win Tag Team Turmoil!Rob Van Dam gets to his feet to celebrate with Kofi Kingston. They have surprised many people as they are a new tag team and overcame the extremely tough duo of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The Wyatts retreat up the ramp, clearly pissed off, as the fans cheer for RVD and Kofi Kingston. The Usos slide into the ring and offer a handshake to their next challengers. RVD and Kofi Kingston, unlike Cody Rhodes earlier, accept the handshake and we have one hell of a future Tag Team Title match lined up.
We are now taken to a video package that goes way back to the days of Team Hell No. Daniel Bryan and Kane went to anger management together, forming a bond that led to Tag Team gold. They would hold those belts for over six months before losing them to the Shield. Bryan would go on to win the WWE Championship while Kane ditched the mask and became the Director of Operations. Kane put the mask back on last month in War Games. Since then, Kane has targeted Bryan, blaming him and Team Hell No for him going soft. Kane then tried to go after Brie Bella, Daniel Bryan’s new wife, making this extra personal. Unfortunately for Bryan, he has been left lying more than once in encounters with the Big Red Machine. WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – DANIEL BRYAN (C) VS. KANE; Before Kane can even enter the ring, Daniel Bryan greets him with a suicide dive! The crowd chants “Yes!” at the top of their lungs as he continues to fire away with kicks until the referee forces them into the ring. Once we officially begin, Bryan charges again, only to get caught with a big boot. “He’s not catching Kane off guard now, running at him may not be the best idea” says JBL. Kane realizes this and starts to pummel Bryan in the corner, but Bryan ducks a shot and rolls out. Now, he wisely picks his spots. He steps forward, unleashing kicks to Kane’s legs, but avoiding his grip. “The bob and weave strategy is a much smarter one for Bryan” explains Michael Cole. Finally, Kane is able to catch Bryan and things go downhill for the champion. Kane hits a side slam, powerbomb and DDT but Bryan shows resilience, kicking out of all of them. Kane is clearly frustrated as he signals for the end. He goes to pick up the champ, but Bryan pulls Kane into an inside cradle for a close two. Bryan begins to rally, nailing his running elbow before climbing up top. Kane is up though, grabbing Bryan by the throat, looking to chokeslam from the top. Bryan is able to block by firing off some vicious kicks to Kane’s face, breaking his grip. Bryan follows with the missile dropkick, before nipping up and striking with a series of kicks to Kane’s chest. The final roundhouse is ducked by Kane, who instantly grabs Bryan by the throat and slams him with a chokeslam. He covers but Bryan is able to kick out. Kane hoists him up for the Tombstone, but Bryan slips off, bounces off the ropes and hits the Busaiku Knee! Bryan is too hurt to cover instantly though, so when he crawls to Kane, the Big Red Monster sits up, though he’s struggling to do so. Bryan backs to the corner and as Kane manages to get to his feet, Bryan drops him with a second Busaiku Knee that earns him the win. Daniel Bryan defeats Kane to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! The fans leap to their feet in celebration, chanting “Yes!” at the top of their lungs as Daniel Bryan is handed both of his titles. He raises them high in the air as the fans chant along with him. Kane ruins everything by clubbing Bryan in the back. He plants the champion with a chokeslam before signaling to the back. Out comes Evolution and Sheamus, the former all still the effects of their match earlier. “No! The Authority is looking to end Daniel Bryan right here and now” screams Michael Cole. Before they can do any damage, the Shield’s theme hits as Chicago comes unglued. The Shield, also still reeling from their battle earlier, come in through the crowd and the fight is on! The Shield fight hard, but with Bryan out in the corner, the 5 on 3 disadvantage takes its toll. Suddenly, “Cult of Personality” hits and the Authority turn to the entrance in shock. The Chicago crowd unleashes an unreal ovation as CM Punk steps out onto the stage! “Oh my god! King, we haven’t seen CM Punk since the Royal Rumble!” exclaims Michael Cole. Punk rushes into the ring with a steel chair, ducks a shot from Batista and strikes him in the back. Sheamus charges and is hit with one as well. Kane steps forward but is stopped by a huge spear from Roman Reigns, while Bryan gets up and clotheslines Randy Orton outside! Just like earlier tonight, Triple H is trapped in between these guys, but it’s Punk who strikes with a kick, before dropping him with a Go to Sleep! The crowd in Chicago is ravenous, filling the arena with “CM Punk” chants. The Authority regroups outside, holding up Triple H as the Shield, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan stand tall in front of a raucous crowd.

Monday Night Raw: June 2nd, 2014 – Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana
A video package opens Raw tonight, showcases highlights of the three main events at Payback last night. We see some still images of Bray Wyatt’s eerie win over John Cena, the Shield’s historic win over Evolution and Daniel Bryan retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Kane. Then, the most shocking thing happened as “Cult of Personality” hit and the roof nearly blew off of the arena in Chicago as CM Punk made his return to the WWE, taking out the Authority and standing tall with the Shield and Daniel Bryan. We go right into something big as Triple H’s theme hits and the Authority step out onto the stage. Triple H is sporting a black eye, Randy Orton has his ribs taped and Batista is limping, showing the battle scars from last night. Sheamus, who did not face the Shield last night, looks relatively fine. They are clearly in a foul mood as they enter the ring. Triple H grabs a microphone and has to take a deep breath before speaking. “Last night was one of the absolute worst nights in the history of this company. With the exception of Sheamus retaining his Intercontinental Title, nothing went right. Of course, you all loved it. You all cheered when the Shield got lucky and beat us. You all cheered when that B+ player, Daniel Bryan, somehow beat Kane. And you all loved it when CM Punk showed his stupid face last night.” The crowd breaks out into “CM Punk” chants that seem to drive Triple H even crazier. He begins to shout, saying that the Shield, Bryan and Punk didn’t win anything last night. “I always win! Tonight, there are Money in the Bank Qualifying matches and I guarantee each and every single one of you that the Shield will not qualify.” He directs his attention to Batista, telling him that he owes him. “I owe both you and Randy. You both have had your one on one title matches with Daniel Bryan end via disqualification. Tonight, you both will be in Money in the Bank Qualifying matches.” Batista snatches the microphone, getting a small pop from the fans. “I didn’t come back to be in any ridiculous ladder matches. I came back to be the WWE Champion!” Triple H tells him to calm down, citing that regardless of whether the matches ended in DQ, they did end unsuccessfully so this is the next route. “I have to do what’s best for business and you beating Seth Rollins to get into Money in the Bank and keep him out of it is just that.” Batista still doesn’t look pleased but doesn’t argue more. Triple H informs the crowd that CM Punk will be out here later tonight to talk about his return. “I promise you, I will be out here to hear exactly what Punk has to say.”
A graphic appears to confirm what Triple H just told us. CM Punk will indeed be here later tonight to address the WWE Universe and discuss why he was gone for so long and what’s next for him. MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: BATISTA VS. SETH ROLLINS; After the opening promo, Batista stayed in the ring and Seth Rollins makes his way out. Commentary informs us that there will be four qualifying matches tonight, meaning we’ll know half of the field for that match by the end of the night. Batista, still in a bad mood, is aggressive at the start, just walloping Seth with impactful offense. They work through a commercial break, which is when things start to pick up. Batista hits the spinebuster and signals for the Batista Bomb. However, Seth is able to slip out and hit a big Pele kick. This knocks Batista into the corner and, although he charges out, Seth is able to dodge as Batista hits the corner. He stumbles out and is hit with the Curb Stomp! Seth makes the cover and is able to score the pinfall. Seth Rollins defeats Batista to qualify for Money in the Bank!Seth Rollins throws his arms in the air in celebration as he has just scored a major win over the “Animal”. Seth rolls out of the ring, joined by Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns in celebration. Batista begins to stir and when he realizes what just happened, he is livid. Triple H furiously comes out to the stage and it’s clear that he is pissed too. “I am sick and tired of you three getting lucky. Dean Ambrose, your qualifying match is next and it’s against someone who is undefeated in the WWE, Alexander Rusev!” The crowd boos as Dean Ambrose gives his brothers a fist bump before entering the ring. Batista heads up the ramp, kicking the railing out of frustration.
Returning, we are shown a graphic discussing the ten most watched shows on the WWE Network this week. Payback, the Kickoff show, NXT TakeOver, Legends House and Main Event round out the top five. MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: ALEXANDER RUSEV VS. DEAN AMBROSE; We are reminded that this is unlike the Alexander Rusev Invitational, because there are no time limits at all. A lot of people like to take it slow with the Bulgarian Brute, but Dean Ambrose is never one for conventional thinking, and he comes at him with everything early. That proves to be a mistake as Rusev overwhelms him with his monstrous offense. He pounds away at Ambrose, who does rally a few times, but ultimately Rusev is able to subdue them. Ambrose does manage to connect on his rebound lariat, which sends Rusev outside. This gets the crowd hype as he follows with a big suicide dive. Lana shouts for them to get back in the ring, but Rusev and Ambrose now brawl around ringside. Rusev goes to whip him into the announce table, but he’s able to counter and send him into the steel steps. The referee’s count reaches nine as Ambrose is able to slide in to beat the count. Dean Ambrose defeats Alexander Rusev via countout to qualify for Money in the Bank!Alexander Rusev just misses getting back in and when the bell rings, he is fuming. Dean Ambrose smirks as he is declared the winner, while Rusev throws the steel steps over in anger. Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns exit through the crowd, having foiled the Authority’s plans. “The Authority has put two incredibly tough opponents in the way of the Shield so far tonight and both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins qualified for Money in the Bank. What will they have in store for Roman Reigns?” asks Michael Cole.
Backstage, the Authority is shown and they are not pleased. Triple H is livid at two members of the Shield advancing in Money in the Bank so far. A knock is heard and in steps Bad News Barrett. Triple H tells him this isn’t a good time but Barrett has an idea. “I come with a plan. Obviously, you guys are not happy with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins qualifying for Money in the Bank but I think I can help you there. Last night, I was robbed out of the United States Title by Dolph Ziggler. Now I know he has to defend the belt against Christian tonight, but I want my rightful one on one shot at the belt. So, how about this? Tonight, put me in there against Roman Reigns in the qualifying match. I’ll make sure he doesn’t advance and you give me a United States Title shot.” Triple H isn’t buying into it at first, but Barrett seems very confident. “Alright, you got a deal. You know, the Authority could use a guy like you. If you beat Reigns tonight, we may have to talk a bit more.” They shake hands and Barrett heads off.
We are now joined by the “Anti-Diva” and WWE Divas Champion, Paige. She walks to the ring to an ovation from the crowd and is holding a bag in one hand. In an alternate universe, there would be thumbtacks in there. She enters the ring and is handed a microphone, waiting for the crowd to quiet down. Paige begins to speak, saying that becoming a champion in the WWE has been her dream since she was a child. “When I won this title, I though a lot about what it means to me. I’m very proud of this achievement, but it’s not THE achievement I’ve been chasing. Growing up there wasn’t a Divas Title for me to want. I’ve always known that I am no Diva. It’s why people call me the ‘Anti-Diva’. So I am here tonight to show you what I’ve been chasing.” The announcers are left confused, but that turns to shock as Paige throws the Divas Title down to the mat. She reaches into the bag and pulls out the retired Women’s Championship. “This is what I dreamt of! The title that’s been held by the likes of Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Victoria, the Fabulous Moolah and other legendary women.” The crowd cheers this revelation until they are surprised to hear the theme of Stephanie McMahon hit. One of the principle owners of the company has a concerned look on her face as she enters the ring. “Paige, what the hell are you doing? You can’t just throw down the Divas Title. I have been fighting for this Divas division to be as important as possible and you throwing that down is a slap in the face to the women who have held it before you.” She brings up AJ Lee, Michelle McCool, the Bella Twins and Natalya as some examples. Paige responds by saying that she has nothing against those girls, she is against the Diva term and Diva mold. “You knew I was different when you signed me. I am here to be the Women’s Champion. I am here to hold a title that you’ve held before. I am going to be the Women’s Champion, no matter what anyone says.” Stephanie is taken aback by Paige’s anti-establishment stance. “Excuse me. I am Stephanie McMahon, you do what I say.” Paige surprisingly gives a slight smile, “If you want to take the Women’s Title away from me, we can get a referee out here.” The crowd oohs at this as Stephanie is again shocked. She shouts at Paige, “Who the hell do you think you’re talking to? You don’t dare threaten or challenge me. I fought to get the Divas Title introduced and you will carry it dammit.” Paige shakes her head, telling Stephanie, “If someone can beat me for this title, you can have whatever belt you want. Until then, I am your Women’s Champion.” Paige holds the title high in the airs and leaves the ring, leaving Stephanie and the fans stunned at what they just witnessed. WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. CHRISTIAN; Over the past few weeks, these two have met twice, splitting that series. 24 hours ago, Dolph Ziggler won the United States Title in a Triple Threat match, and Christian quickly went to ask for his rematch. Dolph is his usual cocky self throughout, frustrating Christian who is unable to get the advantage. Christian is finally able to get in the driver’s seat with a well-timed thumb to the eye behind the referee’s back. He continues to use underhanded tactics to try and steal his gold back. Ziggler proves to be one tough hombre though, weathering the storm. Christian goes for the Killswitch, but Dolph is able to slip out and nail the Zig Zag, allowing him to retain the title. Dolph Ziggler defeats Christian to retain the WWE United States Championship! The hot streak of Dolph Ziggler continues as he successfully retains his United States Title against the former champion, Christian. “One has to imagine that there is a Money in the Bank Qualifying match in the very near future of Dolph Ziggler” says Michael Cole. Dolph takes his title and poses with it next to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy.
Backstage, Renee Young introduces her guest at this time, Randy Orton. She asks Randy for his feelings on having a Money in the Bank Qualifying match next, against a man who beat him a few weeks ago, Big E. Randy tells her that he doesn’t like the tone of her question, but regardless, Big E got lucky when he beat him. “People seem to forget that I am a twelve time World Champion. I was World Champion as recently as two months but one loss to Big E and that’s all people care about. Tonight, I’m going to right that wrong, and then I’m going to win Money in the Bank for the second straight year.”
An advertisement runs to promote the DVD and Blu-Ray release of WrestleMania XXX. Featuring over 4 hours of bonus footage including the entire Hall of Fame ceremony! MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: BIG E VS. RANDY ORTON; A few weeks back, Big E shocked the world when he defeated Randy Orton. However, Big E suffered a setback when he failed to regain the Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus last night. That may be on his mind as he struggles in the beginning, while Orton picks him apart with some of his vicious offense. Big E is able to rally though, getting the crowd behind him. They believe in his comeback as he hits a big running splash and takes the straps down! He goes for the Big Ending, but Orton is able to slip free and go for the RKO. Big E shoves him off into the corner and charges in, but Orton dodges and when Big E comes out, Orton drops him with the RKO, covering for the three. Randy Orton defeats Big E to qualify for Money in the Bank!Getting to his feet, Randy Orton has his hand raised and the fans boo loudly. Randy Orton now joins Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in the Money in the Bank match. “We now know three of the four participants that we will find out tonight. Who will join them? Bad News Barrett? Or will Roman Reigns complete the Shield sweep in our main event?” asks Michael Cole. Orton poses for the fans with a smug look on his face.
ALICIA FOX VS. BRIE BELLA; As the Bella Twins are walking to the ring, we get an insert promo from them. Brie does most of the talking, stating that she and her sister are not fans of what Paige did earlier tonight. “While I respect that she wants to honor history, the Divas Title is the belt that Nikki and I both won and to see it thrown down hurt us.” Brie says she doesn’t know if she can forgive the “Anti-Diva”. As for the match, it is the typical stuff we’ve come to expect between these two. Alicia hits some crisp offense, but Brie has the crowd in her corner as she get in her BRIE MODE missile dropkick to score the win. Brie Bella defeats Alicia Fox!The Bella Twins celebrate Brie’s victory as Alicia Fox rolls out of the ring. Then, to the horror of everyone, the Wyatt signature hits. The lights go out and when they come back on, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are in the ring. “Hasn’t the Wyatt Family done enough to John Cena? Now they’re going after his girlfriend” exclaims Michael Cole. They surround the Bellas before Harper grabs Brie and the signature strikes again. When the lights return on, Nikki is the only one left in the ring, scared for her life. “What? I thought for sure they were going after Nikki. What the hell does the Wyatt Family want with Brie Bella?” asks Jerry Lawler.
Returning, Paige is shown walking backstage with the Women’s Championship on her shoulder but as she passes by Divas, some are giving her dirty looks. Cameron and Eva Marie give her the cold shoulder, but Emma and Naomi seem okay with her. Daniel Bryan appears, frantically searching for Brie Bella. He asks if any of the Divas have seen her, before searching in random rooms.
The below graphic shows up to promote Main Event tomorrow, where we will see a Money in the Bank Qualifying match! The former WWE United States Champion, Christian, will take on the man that defeated his former partner last night at Payback, Cesaro! CESARO VS. DAMIEN SANDOW; Less than 24 hours ago, Cesaro officially put his former partner, Jack Swagger, behind him by defeating him. Meanwhile, Damien Sandow has been picking up some wins on Main Event in recent weeks. This starts with neither guy gaining a clear advantage. Sandow uses some classic heel tactics but Cesaro counters that with some of his impressive offensive skills. He manages to trip up Sandow and do the Cesaro Swing, which gets a huge reaction from the WWE Universe in Indianapolis. With that done, Cesaro cranks his neck, showing no effects of being dizzy. He lifts Sandow up and ends him with the Neutralizer. Cesaro defeats Damien Sandow!
The crowd cheers as Cesaro stands up, picking up even more momentum heading into his Money in the Bank Qualifying match tomorrow night. We see Christian watching on a monitor backstage while icing his neck, and it’s clear that he is unnerved at the thought of facing the Swiss Superman tomorrow night on Main Event.
Returning, Daniel Bryan’s theme hits and the crowd begins to “Yes” but Bryan is in no mood for this. He heads straight to the ring, grabs a microphone and demands that the Wyatt Family bring out Brie Bella right now. There is no answer for a bit, but then the Wyatt signature hits. Bray Wyatt appears atop the stage and Bryan immediately goes to step out of the ring but Bray tells him to stop for Brie’s sake. ‘Daniel, if you step out of that ring, I will not be to blame for what happens to your pretty little wife.” Luke Harper steps out beside him holding Brie Bella in gorilla press slam position. Bryan, the fans and the commentators are horrified as he steps near the edge of the stage. Bray continues, “Daniel, Daniel, Daniel. Calm down brother. You love this woman do you not? I don’t believe you’d want her to take a tumble off the stage now would you?” Bray gives a laugh as Bryan demands to know what the point of all of this is. “I thought it was fairly obvious Daniel. Let me take you back for a minute. Do you remember earlier this year, when you defied me and tries to infiltrate this family? How dare you Bryan? You learned at the Royal Rumble that I am no mere mortal and that this family is unbreakable. Last night I vanquished John Cena and the whole Cenation is now in my hands. That is not enough for me though, no no. There is power that came with taking the Cenation, but there is more power in those titles that lie on the mat.” Bryan looks down at them and responds, “These. These titles are what this is all about? I’ve proven to be a fighting champion. If you wanted a shot at my title, all you had to do was ask. I’ll give you one just put my wife down!” Bray begins to laugh again, “So, I have your word that you will give me a shot at the titles to save your loved one?” Bryan shouts yes, so Bray tells Luke to put her down. “Understand this Daniel. This is the kind of thing that I could do anytime I want. I am everywhere Daniel and soon, I will have more than the Cenation, more than the WWE Title…I’ll have the whole world…in my hands.” The signature hits and they’re gone, leaving Brie Bella cowering in fear atop the stage. Bryan rushes up to check on her as we go to commercial.
Renee Young is standing by with the Shield. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are still not in the best condition following their matches earlier tonight, but Renee is focused on Roman Reigns as she asks him about his Money in the Bank Qualifying match tonight and the fact that his teammates are barred from ringside. Reigns says that tonight has been typical Authority stuff. “They tried to take us out at WrestleMania and they failed. They took us to War Games and they failed to end us. They sent Evolution at us last night and we won. Hell, tonight they’re throwing three of the toughest guy in this business in our way and so far, Dean and Seth did their job. I plan on joining them at Money in the Bank and then one of us will win that briefcase.” Dean steps up, saying that this won’t be like the Royal Rumble. “Back then, we hit a hiccup of jealousy. At Money in the Bank, it’s every man for themselves, but I guarantee you, the Money in the Bank briefcase will be won by a member of the Shield.” Seth closes thing with Roman’s normal line of “believe that…and believe in the Shield.” NON-TITLE MATCH: THE USOS VS. THE BROTHERHOOD; Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston, who won the Tag Team Turmoil at Payback last night, are out on commentary for this match. They are asked not only about their upcoming match against the Usos, which has been announced for Money in the Bank, but also about Cody Rhodes refusing to their hand last night. RVD attributes it to frustration. Here, Cody is on fire just like last night. He is flying around the ring and picking up near falls. However, he runs into a loud superkick from Jey. Jimmy knocks Goldust off the apron with one before climbing up top and hitting a big splash on Cody. Jey covers and the Usos are victorious. The Usos defeat The Brotherhood! The Usos hug to celebrate their win as Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston get off commentary and look up at them. The staredown doesn’t escalate as both teams seem to have respect for each other. Goldust checks on Cody Rhodes, who shows just as much as frustration as he did last night.
MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. ROMAN REIGNS; Our final Money in the Bank qualifier pits two of the hotter Superstars in the entire WWE. They start off with hard hitting shots, just trading big time blows to the point where Roman Reigns gets a busted lip. That just shows how this match is going. Midway through, Sheamus slowly trots to ringside, leading commentary to question why he’s allowed out here and not the rest of the Shield. Reigns nails his apron dropkick before rolling inside and punching the mat, signaling for the Superman punch. When he goes for it, Bad News Barrett has the Bull Hammer ready and they nail each other at the same time. Both guys are down for nearly the count of ten, but as Barrett gets up, he pulls the referee close to him. Reigns is using the second rope to assist himself, but Sheamus comes by and nails him with a vicious kick to the head! Barrett takes advantage, hitting a second Bull Hammer and getting the three. Bad News Barrett defeats Roman Reigns to qualify for Money in the Bank!As soon as the bell rings, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins rush to the ring, but Bad News Barrett is quick to exit and head up the ramp with Sheamus. Ambrose and Rollins are not pleased, and neither is Reigns, who is beginning to get to his feet. “The Shield are unable to complete the sweep and Roman Reigns will not be in Money in the Bank!” exclaims Michael Cole. Barrett revels in his relatively surprising victory, but it is clear from the looks on the faces of the Shield, that there will be hell to pay.
The moment the fans have been waiting for all night is finally here as CM Punk comes out to a thunderous ovation. He holds his arms out as he walks to the ring, basking in their positive cheers. He enters the ring as the fans chant “CM Punk” and he waits for them to die down, though it takes a while. The first words out of his mouth tell us that he’s happy to be back, but he knows that there are a lot of questions. “The question I’ve been asked the most is why did I leave. Well, there were multiple reasons. First, I was beyond banged up and had to do a lot of healing. Quite frankly, I currently feel better than I have in the past seven years. The other reason that I stepped away was the Authority and the WWE as a whole. You see, I was sick and tired of watching a B+ Player himself, Triple H, tear down a good friend of mine, Daniel Bryan. Not only that, but I was unhappy with my placement in the company. I went from being the WWE Champion for 434 days to losing to the Rock to losing to Paul Heyman on Pay-Per-View.” The fans boo that but Punk admits that some of it is on him too. He then goes into what he’s been doing while he’s been away. “I’ve actually been getting into some cool things while healing. Hell, I’m even writing a comic book which you should all check out when it comes out.” The WWE Universe gives a collective chuckle at that before Punk gets serious again, discussing why he has returned. “Now that I’m back at 100%, I’ve come back for two reasons. One, is to do what Daniel Bryan and the Shield have been doing for months and that’s fight and put an end to the Authority. The other is…” Punk is cut off by theme of the COO of the company as Triple H comes down to the ring. He gets a microphone and gets right in Punk’s face, telling him that he has no business coming back. “I was perfectly fine paying you to sit out your contract so I didn’t have to deal with your ass.” Punk laughs and tells Triple H that he actually just signed a brand new contract, personally sent to him by Vince McMahon. This takes Triple H aback, but he manages to regroup quickly, telling Punk that there is no way that he will end the Authority. “I run things around here and your little stunt last night won’t change any of that.” Punk admits that he can’t change it just by returning but he promises that is his endgame. Triple H is not happy with this and strikes Punk, leading to a fist fight between the two. Things spill outside, where Punk smashes Hunter’s head into the announce table. Security and officials rush out to keep these two separated, but that is easier said than done. As the show goes off the air, they are still struggling to accomplish this task.

WWE Main Event: June 3rd, 2014 – US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio
Main Event opens with its weekly intro before showing the arena and seeing pyro fire off atop the stage. Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips welcome everyone to the show, reminding us of our Money in the Bank Qualifying match main event pitting Cesaro against Christian tonight. They then send us to the ring. BO DALLAS VS. SANTINO MARELLA; Emma accompanies Santino Marella to the ring and they are in their usual cheerful mood, though it’s nothing compared to Bo’s mood. He has a huge smile even as the bell rings. Both men trade offense, with some relatively interesting comedy spots. Santino reaches into his boot for the Cobra and when Bo sees it, he backs away, begging for mercy. Santino goes to strike, but Bo ducks and throws him into the corner. He seems to turn it up a notch with a vicious flurry of stomps and a big double arm DDT. He then goes into the Bo and Arrow, though he doesn’t tell Santino not to give up, instead remaining silent while he taps out. Bo Dallas defeats Santino Marella! As soon as the bell rings, Bo Dallas seems to snap out of his anger, turning back to the cheesy smile. He rolls out of the ring and does his victory lap, stopping to hug Emma and shout “I did it!” He grabs a microphone, telling Santino that he is sorry. “I don’t know what came over me but I just want you to know that you too can be just as successful as I am. You too can be a winner. I’m talking to you too Emma. You both just have to Bolieve.” He gives them a thumbs up before happily exiting.
A recap is shown of the uncomfortable scene between Daniel Bryan and the Wyatt Family last night on Raw. Bryan was coming off of a tough victory against his former partner, Kane, at Payback, while Bray Wyatt had bested John Cena. Brie Bella, Bryan’s wife, beat Alicia Fox only to have Luke Harper and Erick Rowan kidnap her. Bray used the threat of Harper throwing Brie off the stage to get Bryan to agree to a future title match. ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER VS LOS MATADORES; Thanks to their absolutely heinous acts last night, the Wyatt Family get booed more than ever as they make their way out to the ring. Los Matadores make it clear that they are a bit intimidated by the vicious bearded duo. They do their best with some high flying moves that take Erick Rowan and Luke Harper down a few times. However, it is all for naught because Harper and Rowan are too powerful to overcome. Rowan plants Diego with a slam as Harper takes out Fernando with his stiff lariat. El Torito gets on the apron, which proves to be a mistake as Rowan clobbers him to the mat. Harper covers Fernando to win. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeat Los Matadores!Luke Harper rolls out of the ring, followed by Erick Rowan, as the crowd boos. Diego, Fernando and El Torito are all laid out in the ring as the Wyatt Family continue to prove that they are one of the most dominant forces in the entire WWE.
Standing by backstage is Renee Young with Christian. She asks him about his Money in the Bank Qualifying match tonight, considering his hard luck as of late. Christian seems very upset at his recent struggles. “When I asked the Authority for help, it was because my career was in a rough patch. I couldn’t get a win, I hadn’t held a title in over a year and I needed something. Granted, it may not have been the best course of action but I did it. Now, I’ve lost my United States Title and lost my rematch. I need to qualify for Money in the Bank Renee. I need to.” He walks away leaving Renee feeling sorry for him, while also being surprised that he got her name right for once.
An ad airs to promote the WWE Shop. The song “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons plays in the background as we see various fans and Superstars wearing apparel that is exclusive to the WWE Shop. We are now taken to a recap of CM Punk’s return two nights ago at Payback, where he helped Daniel Bryan and the Shield take out the Authority. Then, clips air from Raw last night where he discussed why he left, what he’s been doing while away and what his upcoming plans are. He was interrupted by Triple H, and discussed that it was Vince McMahon who signed him to a new contract. They got into a huge pull apart brawl to end Raw. Tom Phillips now speaks to the camera with some breaking news. “Folks, CM Punk’s first match since the Royal Rumble nearly six months ago has been set. Punk will compete in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match this Friday night on Smackdown. When Triple H heard of this, he was furious but was allowed to pick Punk’s opponent. He has chosen the “Demon”, Kane!”
MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: CESARO VS. CHRISTIAN; There are more fans behind Christian than expected, due to his sympathetic interview earlier. Despite this, Cesaro is still the favorite here. They begin with some chain wrestling, trying to gain the upper hand. Cesaro uses his power to do so, but Christian and his wily veteran instincts turn things around in his favor. “Captain Charisma” hits all of his usual spots, like the corner kick, diving sunset flip and he even hits a frog splash for two. Christian begins to call for the spear that he adopted from his best friend but as he charges, Cesaro greets him with a vicious European uppercut. He cranks his neck, attempting the Neutralizer but Christian kicks him in the head to break it. He goes for the Killswitch, but when he turns around, Cesaro shoves him into the ropes. As he bounces off, Cesaro destroys him with a massive popup uppercut, followed by the Neutralizer to get the 1-2-3. Cesaro defeats Christian to qualify for Money in the Bank! The bell sounds and the crowd celebrates the victory by Cesaro. That is three wins in three nights for the Swiss Superman and he now has a chance to win Money in the Bank in a few weeks. After he poses for a bit, Christian stirs and gets to his feet. They look at each other for a moment, before Christian extends his hand. Cesaro seems a bit surprised, but accepts the handshake and heads off, leaving a disappointed Christian in the ring.

WWE NXT: June 5th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Things open with a video package focusing on the top three matches from NXT TakeOver last Thursday. Corey Graves’ victory over Sami Zayn is highlighted before moving to the Fatal Four Way NXT Women’s Championship match. Charlotte was able to snatch victory from her BFF Sasha Banks, Bayley and the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige. Lastly, Adrian Neville, using an incredible Red Arrow from the top of a Steel Cage, was able to send back the challenge of Brodus Clay. The commentary team of Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and William Regal welcome us to tonight’s show, discussing how we will see the fallout from TakeOver. They inform us that there are some big matches lined up for tonight, as well as the debut of Tyler Breeze’s music video. Speaking of “Prince Pretty”, Eden Stiles is in the ring and informs us that Tyler Breeze has entered the building. COREY GRAVES VS. MOJO RAWLEY; The NXT Universe is excited to see the man who stays hype, but they turn to a mixed reaction for Corey Graves. Graves is coming off of a major victory at TakeOver against Sami Zayn, and carries it over here. His methodical style has him attack the leg of Mojo Rawley, in hopes to set up for the Lucky 13. Mojo is able to strike back, using some of that incredible energy that he brings to the table, but Corey is too vicious for him. He’s able to put down Mojo and locks in the Lucky 13, resulting in the finish. Corey Graves defeats Mojo Rawley!“Corey Graves is on an absolute tear as of late and one has to imagine that he is one of the top threats to the NXT Championship” says Tom Phillips. Graves poses by the ropes, showing off his STAY DOWN tattoo to the camera. As if he heard commentary, he motions around his waist for the NXT Championship.
We are taken to a recap of the issues that went down between Tyson Kidd and his wife Natalya. Tyson blamed her for his loss to Tyler Breeze at TakeOver last week, even taking it so far as to get in the face of Natalya’s uncle, Bret Hart. The disrespect that he showed Bret left fans in shock. Devin Taylor is standing by with Natalya and she asks her about Tyson Kidd’s state of mind after TakeOver. Natalya says that she was upset with Tyson for how he spoke to her and her uncle but has forgiven him over the week. “Tyson unfortunately lost a big match and he was very frustrated. I know that he means well but sometimes what happens out there gets the best of you. I still 100% stand by my husband and will be out there by his side for his match tonight.” NON-TITLE MATCH: CHARLOTTE W/ SASHA BANKS VS. BAYLEY; Despite their differences during the Fatal Four Way match at TakeOver, Sasha Banks accompanies Charlotte to the ring here. All seems rather well between the Beautiful Fierce Females. As always, Bayley has the crowd behind her as her plucky personality is so damn likable. She puts forth an impressive effort against the new NXT Women’s Champion, gaining multiple near falls. She tries the Belly to Bayley, but Charlotte elbows out of it and snaps off a neckbreaker. She surprisingly climbs to the top, but Bayley knocks her down. She charges in for a running elbow, but Charlotte moves and connects on Natural Selection for the win. Charlotte defeats Bayley!A mixed reaction comes down from the NXT Universe as some boo Charlotte but some cheer the effort in the match. Sasha Banks enters the ring and begins to put the boots to Bayley. Charlotte doesn’t seem to really want to, but eventually joins in. This brings out Emma and newcomer Alexa Bliss to make the save. They nearly overthrow the BFF’s until the theme of the “First Lady of NXT”, Summer Rae hits! The original BFF makes her return to NXT to help out. The numbers game is too much for Emma and Alexa as they are tossed aside. Sasha and Charlotte seem surprised and not exactly pleased at Summer’s return as we go to commercial.
Returning a WWE Shop ad airs. It shows numerous Superstars, Divas and fans wearing authentic items from the WWE Shop, set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. Backstage, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady cut a promo in front of a camera. Enzo is not his usual charismatic and enthusiastic self as he takes a serious approach about their loss last week. However, he turns it up when saying they are far from finished. “If you think that was the end of Enzo and Big Cass, you got another thing coming. Whether the Champs are the Dissension or some other jabronis, we coming for those titles because nobody else in NXT is a certified G or a bonafide stud and none of you are seven foot tall like Big Cass here. AND YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!” Cass wraps this up by saying that the other teams in NXT are all S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT!
A video package is shown to promote the Ascension and their dominance over the tag team division. As you saw at TakeOver last week, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady were the latest team to come up short in their attempts to dethrone the Tag Team Champions. JASON JORDAN AND TYE DILLINGER VS. THE LEGIONNAIRES; Throughout this match, there is a distraction in the crowd as CJ Parker is walking around with signs about protecting the Earth and recycling. The match itself is an interesting one though as the crowd obviously doesn’t like the Legionnaires, but Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger are a bit too new to have them fully behind them. They do leave their marks with some rather nice double team moves but the Legionnaires use some old school heel tactics to never fully lose momentum. Marcus Louis and Sylvester Lefort win with a tandem DDT, moving up in the tag team ranks. The Legionnaires defeat Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger! The match ends as the Legionnaires celebrate their first victory. One has to imagine that they could be future challengers to the Ascension, as the tag team division seems to be heating up in NXT. Commentary is sure to mention how impressed they were with the upstart tandem of Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger as well.
Devin Taylor is now standing by with one half of the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, Rob Van Dam. She announces will be competing here on NXT next week and asks who his opponent will be. RVD responds first by putting over NXT as the future of this business, but says that he hasn’t figured out who he will compete against. Adrian Neville comes up to him, introducing himself and shaking his hand. “You know Rob, you were one of the people I most looked up to when coming up in the ring and I would be honored to defend my NXT Championship against you next week.” RVD is surprised but is cool with the idea and obviously accepts the match, but not before thanking Neville for the opportunity.
One of the WWE’s classic “Don’t Try This at Home” advertisements air, reminding viewers at home not to risk their lives. Returning to the ring, Adam Rose and the Exotic Express make their way to the ring, as the NXT Universe dances along with them. When Rose finally makes it to the ring, he gets a microphone. He says that last week at TakeOver, he was able to beat NXT’s biggest lemon, Bo Dallas. “For months you’ve all chanted ‘No more Bo’, and you finally got your wish. So, in honor of that, we are going to party right here tonight.” The fans cheer for this as he goes to signal for the Exotic Express to join him in the ring. Most of them are able to enter the ring but suddenly there seems to be technical difficulties throughout the arena. The lights flicker and the video screens get fuzzy. The partygoers stop for a moment, but once it passes they go back to dancing. It happens again, for longer this time and the fans seem to know what’s coming. It happens one final time as if someone is hacking into the arena and the name Solomon Crowe appears on the titantron. Suddenly, a man that we don’t recognize is in the ring and he attacks Adam Rose. The Exotic Express scurry and exit the ring as the man that we assume to be Solomon Crowe wails away on Rose. He stomps on the knee of the leader of the Exotic Express before applying a stretch muffler that looks to be extremely painful. Officials rush to pull Crowe off but the damage has been done.
An ad airs promoting the WWE Network original show, Legends House! Catch the entire season of the hit show on demand for just $9.99 per month! Cutting backstage, Tyler Breeze is shown giving us a selfie promo. He discusses his win over that “uggo” Tyson Kidd before saying that his next goal is the NXT Championship. Before we get to that though, he introduces everyone to his MTV Euro award-winning music video. The video features Tyler singing his new theme music in a studio, intercut with model like shots of “Prince Pretty”. KALISTO VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; The fans in Full Sail University boo Tyson Kidd and chant “Nattie’s Husband” at him throughout the contest. He still allows it to bother him as it causes him to stare out into the crowd, leading to Kalisto busting out some of his fast paced offense. Kalisto does a handstand walk that absolutely wows the audience, but Kidd is able to stop his momentum by taking out his knee. He turns the attention to that leg, obviously looking to set up for the Sharpshooter. Kalisto is able to withstand some of it and go for his finisher, but Kidd shoves him off into the corner. As Kalisto bounces out, Kidd busts out the Code Red, before applying the Sharpshooter. Kalisto nearly makes it to the ropes, but once Kidd pulls him to the center of the ring, he has no choice but to tap out. Tyson Kidd defeats Kalisto!Tyson Kidd celebrates getting back on the winning track, while Natalya enters the ring. She goes to high five but he leaves her hanging and stands on the middle rope to pose to the crowd. Natalya still applauds her man’s performance, as Tyson Kidd does like Corey Graves earlier and motions for the NXT Title around his waist. “That’s the third man to discuss their goal being the NXT Title tonight. Will Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze or Corey Graves be next in line after Rob Van Dam next week?” asks Tom Phillips.

Friday Night Smackdown: June 6th, 2014 – US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio
Smackdown opens up with a video package that shows the heinous situation that went down this past Monday between Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella. Coming off of the high of beating Kane at Payback, Bryan experienced the low of having his new bride kidnapped by the Wyatt Family. Bray threatened to have Luke Harper throw Brie off the stage if Bryan didn’t agree to give Bray a title shot. Bryan accepted the fight but it was clear that he and Brie were both feeling the effects of the traumatic events. Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduce the show as the camera pans over the sold out crowd in Cincinnati. They remind us that we have a huge show in store tonight, featuring the final three Money in the Bank qualifying matches, including one pitting Kane against CM Punk in Punk’s first match since the Royal Rumble. “Let’s not forget that it was Kane who Chokeslammed Punk through a table during that Royal Rumble and you have to think Punk hasn’t forgotten about that” says JBL.
The theme of the “Celtic Warrior” hits as the WWE Intercontinental Champion Sheamus makes his way out to the ring. The crowd boos loudly but he is all smiles. As he walks down, we are taken to a video that shows how Sheamus cost Roman Reigns his Money in the Bank Qualifying Match on Raw. When the recap ends, Sheamus is smirking in the ring as he addresses the fans. He starts by saying that he knows they’re upset with what he did on Raw but they have to understand why he did it. “As a proud member of the Authority, it is me duty to do what’s best for business. That’s simply all I was doing on Monday. Having Bad News Barrett in Money in the Bank Ladder match instead of Roman Reigns is obviously the best choice. Tonight, your Intercontinental Champion is going to join that Ladder match and you want to know why? That’s right. It’s best for business.” The crowd boos more every single time they hear that patented phrase, best for business. Before Sheamus can continue, he is interrupted by the United States Champion, Dolph Ziggler to a major pop. He already has a microphone and speaks as he walks down to the ring. The first thing he does is call Sheamus a sellout before moving to Money in the Bank. “Honestly, myself and the rest of the WWE Universe felt that what you did on Raw was the furthest thing from best for business. But, right now, they’re about to get what is best for business when I beat you and qualify for Money in the Bank. Think about it Sheamus? Doesn’t Andre the Giant Battle Royal winner, United States Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank all sound nice together?” Sheamus doesn’t look too amused as our opening contest gets set. MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. SHEAMUS; Two of the top champions in the WWE do battle here with the highest possible stakes besides their own belts being on the line. Upset that he was interrupted, Sheamus clearly looks to take it out on Dolph Ziggler with some stiff shots in the early goings. The new aggressive Sheamus has obviously found success and was looking for more here. However, as aggressive as Sheamus has been, Ziggler has been equally resilient in recent weeks. He starts to rally, hitting some of his signature moves and earning a near fall with the Fameasser. Both men are down, but Sheamus stirs first, only for Roman Reigns to come down through the stands. His presence at ringside is enough to distract Sheamus long enough for Dolph to connect on the Zig Zag for the win. Dolph Ziggler defeats Sheamus to qualify for Money in the Bank!Dolph Ziggler rolls out of the ring and celebrates his victory. He now joins Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Bad News Barrett and Cesaro in the Money in the Bank match. “Dolph Ziggler has a shot at becoming a two time Money in the Bank winner in a few weeks in Boston” says JBL. As he leaves, Sheamus begins to stir and stares angrily in the direction of Roman Reigns, who has a big smirk on his face as we cut to commercial.
Returning, the Shield is shown backstage when Vickie Guerrero comes up to them. She tells them that the Authority is not pleased with what Roman Reigns just did. “As a punishment, I’ve been told to put Dean Ambrose in a match tonight. A match against the man he beat via countout this past Monday, Alexander Rusev.” She says that the other members of the Shield are barred from ringside. Dean doesn’t seem too concerned about this, but that’s probably because he’s insane. Vickie walks away, leaving the Shield to talk strategy. We cut to Renee Young, who is standing by with Bad News Barrett. She asks him about his decision to go to the Authority this past Monday for help. Barrett corrects her, telling her that it wasn’t about help. “It was about us benefitting each other. I take out Roman Reigns and make sure he doesn’t make it to the Money in the Bank match, which I did, and they make sure I get my rightful United States Title shot at Dolph Ziggler, which I will.” Renee then asks about what Triple H meant when he said he may want to talk to Barrett more and straight up asks if he’s joining the Authority. Barrett gives a sly smirk and says that’s between himself and Triple H.
KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM VS. RYBAXEL; At Payback this past Sunday, Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston did the unthinkable and won the Tag Team Turmoil match to earn a WWE Tag Team Title shot. The newly formed team continues to impress and looks to ride their wave of momentum against the duo of Curtis Axel and Ryback. As usual with Rybaxel matches, Ryback’s power proves to be a factor as he just manhandles both of his opponents at different times. However, Kofi is able to wriggle free of a hold and make the hot tag to the former WWE and ECW Champion. RVD is on fire, hitting on all cylinders and he’s able to hit a Five Star Frog Splash that ends the match. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam defeat Rybaxel! The number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles enjoy their victory, but Michael Cole informs us that they’ll have to try and rest up backstage because all four of these men will be competing against later tonight in a battle royal to earn one of the final two spots in Money in the Bank!
A graphic appears to inform us of what the top ten most watched shows on the WWE Network are. Payback, the Payback Kickoff Show, NXT TakeOver, Main Event and Countdown round out the top five. The “Ravishing Russian” is introduced as Lana steps out onto the stage to a mixed reaction from the fans. She stays on the stage, speaking in Russian to draw more heat. She brings out the “Bulgarian Brute” as Alexander Rusev steps out next to her. She says that the Alexander Rusev Invitational is still going on, but on hold for right now. “What happened on Raw was a travesty. Rusev still has not been pinned and he still has not submitted. He will prove to all of you and Dean Ambrose right now, that he is indeed the Super Athlete.” Rusev takes the microphone, calling out Ambrose and saying that he will humble him. He doesn’t have to wait long as the Shield’s theme hits and out comes the “Lunatic Fringe” through the crowd. ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. DEAN AMBROSE; On Monday, Dean Ambrose was the first man to defeat Alexander Rusev, though it was by countout, earning him a spot in Money in the Bank. Rusev is in an absolutely foul mood, charging at Ambrose and wailing on him. Through a commercial break, he is in complete control as Ambrose looks to be in a bad way. The crazed member of the Shield is able to change the momentum a bit when he hits a big rebound lariat. After knocking Rusev outside, he follows with a suicide dive and looks like he may get another countout win, but Rusev makes it back in at the count of eight. Ambrose goes for Dirty Deeds, but Rusev shoves him off and into the turnbuckle. Rusev then manages to lock in the Accolade, but the crowd rallies Ambrose to nearly break it. He’s unable to overpower the brute, though he refuses to quit and the referee has to call the match when he passes out. Alexander Rusev defeats Dean Ambrose!
Tonight, Alexander Rusev avenges his loss from this past Monday. He doesn’t break the Accolade until Lana enters the ring and gives him the signal. Rusev raises his arms in victory. While he won’t be going to Money in the Bank, he gets some vengeance here tonight and now looks ahead to the return of the Alexander Rusev Invitational. MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING BATTLE ROYAL: Returning from commercial, the ring is filled with Superstars looking to qualify for Money in the Bank. Those included are Alberto Del Rio, Bo Dallas, Brodus Clay, Cody Rhodes, Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow, Darren Young, Diego, Drew McIntyre, Erick Rowan, Fandango, Fernando, Goldust, Heath Slater, Jack Swagger, Jey and Jimmy Uso, Jinder Mahal, Justin Gabriel, Kofi Kingston, Luke Harper, Mark Henry, R-Truth, RVD, Ryback, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Titus O’Neil, Tyson Kidd, Xavier Woods and Zack Ryder. We are told that if any of the participants in the Tag Team Title match win, they’ll pull double duty at Money in the Bank. This is your standard battle royal, coming down to RVD, Dallas, Del Rio and Swagger. Dallas’ happy go lucky attitude costs him as he tries to partner up with Del Rio, only to be dumped out. RVD tosses Swagger, leaving it down to him and the man he faced numerous times last Fall for the World Title, Del Rio. They exchange blows, but RVD makes a costly mistake that allows Del Rio to eliminate him. Alberto Del Rio wins the Battle Royal to qualify for Money in the Bank!Alberto Del Rio falls to his knees and points up at the briefcase hanging above the ring. “Alberto Del Rio joins Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton as potential two time Money in the Bank winners! He said that this was his goal last week and he’s one step closer” says JBL. Del Rio continues to celebrate as the crowd boos him.
We cut to Bray Wyatt standing alone in darkness. He speaks to the camera, addressing the fans and more importantly, Daniel Bryan. “Daniel, I want you to know that what I did on Monday…I did it for you. I know that you and some others don’t quite see it that way but understand that it was for you Daniel. I don’t tell lies. Do you remember the Royal Rumble? I vanquished you! You were no match for someone like me and that is going to be the case when we meet again. I don’t want that, you don’t want that, these people don’t want that! You see, in some cases love; it makes us weak. But I’ve always seen something inside of you Daniel. Something different. It’s why I was drawn to you all those months ago. Where others would become weak after Monday, you will become fierce! You will use that anger and you will come at with me everything you’ve got! This will ensure that when we clash, it will be glorious. You and I, we’re still not so different Daniel. When we collide this time, it will be different. The war will be grand, but the outcome remains the same. You will follow…the buzzards.”
Returning, commentary takes us to highlights from NXT TakeOver last week. They promote NXT as the future of the industry and the talent was on hand at a TakeOver event that has received rave reviews. The focus is on the Women’s Championship match, where Paige lost the title to Charlotte, though she was not pinned. NON-TITLE MATCH: PAIGE VS. NATALYA; As Paige comes down to the ring, we are reminded of her confrontation with Stephanie McMahon this past Monday night when she threw down the Divas Championship and brought back the Women’s Title. According to the commentators, Natalya has mixed feelings on what Paige did, citing that she loved the Women’s Title but didn’t like how the Divas belt was tossed aside when it’s the belt she won a few years back. This features some back and forth work between the girls, as Natalya tries the Sharpshooter, but Paige is able to counter though the PTO is blocked. With that stopped, Paige nails the RamPaige to claim victory. Paige defeats Natalya!
The WWE Universe cheers for the “Anti-Diva” as she continues her hot streak. The only loss that she has suffered was when she passed out at Extreme Rules in her first shot at the Divas Championship. She is handed the Women’s Championship and holds it in the air, as one has to wonder who will be next to challenge her for gold.
As we return from the commercial break, we are taken to clips of the altercation between CM Punk and Triple H this past Monday. CM Punk addressed the WWE Universe only for Triple H to interrupt and for the two of them to come to blows. Renee Young is now standing by with the recently returned CM Punk. She first asks if he’s worried about any ring rust. He responds by asking how she is doing before saying that he’s not worried. “Yes, I’ve been out of the ring for five months but you should recall that I am the best in the world and I will show that again when I beat Kane tonight.” Renee’s next question is about Monday. Punk claimed that he was back for two reasons. The first was to oppose the Authority but he was interrupted before he could say the second, so she asks what that was. Punk gives a slight smile and responds, “To become the WWE Champion again. Look Renee, Daniel Bryan is a close friend of mine but that doesn’t mean that I’m not coming for his title. I am the longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era and a two time Money in the Bank winner. I’m getting back to being both of those and the first step is through Kane tonight.” BIG E VS. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA; Just over a month ago, Big E was riding high as the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Unfortunately for him, he ran into Sheamus, who has defeated him on two straight Pay-Per-Views. This past Monday, Big E failed to qualify for Money in the Bank, so he is looking to right the ship so to speak here. Fandango gets in some shots that send Big E reeling, but overall, he just can’t match the psychical specimen that Big E is. After snapping off a big belly to belly suplex, Big E nails the Big Ending and gets the win. Big E defeats Fandango!
Big E gets to his feet and instantly demands a microphone from ringside to the surprise of many. He is not normally someone to speak much but he does so here, speaking about his struggles as of late. “I know that I was unable to take my Intercontinental Title back from Sheamus and I couldn’t beat Randy Orton again to qualify for Money in the Bank. Understand this though; I am not done with the Authority.” He slams the microphone to the mat and leaves to cheers from the Cincinnati crowd.
A short promo airs to promote the new Greatest Factions DVD. The factions highlighted in the commercial are Evolution, the Shield, DX, the nWo, the Four Horsemen and the Hart Foundation. MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH: CM PUNK VS. KANE; Our final Money in the Bank Qualifying match is contested in front of a crowd that is red hot for the in ring return of CM Punk. He gains a quick upper hand that shows he’s still got it, but it becomes clear as the match goes on that there is some ring rust in there. Kane wears him down with power offense and gets near falls on both a sidewalk slam and even the chokeslam. He gets a bit frustrated when Punk kicks out of the chokeslam and signals for another. Punk is able to block it with a big kick to the head. Following that, Punk goes for the Go to Sleep for the third time, this time managing to actually hoist Kane up. He hits his finisher, which is enough to put down the monster and qualify. CM Punk defeats Kane to qualify for Money in the Bank!
The Straight Edge Superstar has his hand raised as the WWE Universe explodes for his win. CM Punk becomes the eighth and final Superstar to qualify for Money in the Bank. “The field is set. CM Punk has a chance at becoming Mr. Money in the Bank for the third time, while Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler can become two time winners. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Bad News Barrett and Cesaro round out the field looking to win it for the first time” explains Michael Cole. The fans continue to celebrate along with CM Punk to close Smackdown.

This is a babyface-heavy Money in the Bank. Only Orton, Del Rio, and Barrett are heels, I'm pretty sure.

Monday Night Raw: June 9th, 2014 – Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota
The weekly Raw intro video plays as usual, but before any of the usual pyro or introductions are done, the music of our World Heavyweight Champion hits. The crowd comes unglued as Daniel Bryan steps out to the stage, obviously not in a good mood after the actions from Bray Wyatt last week. As he walks out, we are taken to a recap of the heinous deed done by the Wyatt Family that put Daniel’s wife Brie in harm’s way, all so Bray could get a title shot. He heads straight to the ring and grabs a microphone, waiting for the crowd to die down. He says that due to the shock of last Monday, he wasn’t able to address what happened. “For the last week, I’ve stayed at home with my wife who is petrified because of the Wyatt Family. Every time she hears a noise, she freaks out. The only time I’ve been away from her is right now, though she is not alone. Tonight, I’m here for the Wyatt Family.” The crowd pops as he demands they face him like men right now. Instead of getting them in person, they appear on the titantron. Bray Wyatt does his signature laugh, telling Bryan that he explained himself this past Friday. “I told you that I did this for you. Do you see how mad you are? Can you not tell the fire that burns inside of you right now? I want you to use that when we meet Daniel. I want you to be a challenge!” Bryan cuts him off there, “I don’t care about any of that. I don’t care why you took Brie. Kane threatened to touch her and I beat him at Payback, so just imagine what I do to you when I get the chance.” Bryan goes on to say that he wants Luke Harper tonight for what he did last week. Bray chuckles again, saying that is fine before the camera pans over to Luke. He looks into the camera and says, “Tonight, I’m going to do to you what I nearly did to your pretty little wife last week.” When the camera goes back to Bray he is up close to the lens and shouts “RUN!” before the Wyatt signature hits and we cut to commercial.
A graphic appears when we return to tell us what the top ten most watched shows on the WWE Network this week are. The top five are Payback, Payback Kickoff, Legends House, NXT and Clash of the Champions, which was recently added to the library. CESARO VS. CM PUNK; Before the bell, Cesaro and CM Punk shake hands. Last time CM Punk was competing, Cesaro was a member of the Real Americans, but now things are much different. During this bout, the WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler is on commentary. They start with a feeling out process, but neither man is able to gain a clear advantage. Cesaro decides against mat wrestling and instead uses his power to finally take control. Punk is able to change the tide after a while of that with some well-placed strikes. Punk hits the high knee in the corner but Cesaro counters the bulldog into a big slam. When that isn’t enough to keep Punk down, he calls for the Neutralizer but Punk blocks that with some kicks to the head. As Cesaro breaks the hold, Punk hoists him up for the GTS, but Cesaro grabs the ropes to block. He pulls Punk into a small package for a very close near fall. They get up at the same time and Cesaro hits the popup uppercut! He covers but Punk gets his foot on the bottom rope. Cesaro is in disbelief, as is the WWE Universe. He calls for the Neutralizer again, but Punk is able to reverse into the GTS and picks up the victory. CM Punk defeats Cesaro!
The WWE Universe gets to their feet in applause for the amazing match they just witnessed. Both CM Punk and Cesaro are exhausted, but Punk gets to his knees and raises his arms in victory. He points up at the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above the ring that both of these men will be fighting for in a few weeks. Cesaro stands up and, just like they did before the match, the two men shake hands in a show of respect. ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. CHRISTIAN; While the last match featuring Money in the Bank participants involved respect, Alberto Del Rio shows none of that here. The fans are still not fully behind Christian again, though some feel for him as he has suffered some big losses in a row. He plays the babyface here, rallying the crowd while in a wear down hold and hitting some high flying moves. Del Rio is ruthless though, attacking the arm with some vicious offense. Anytime Christian gets offense, he has to stop and hold his arm in pain. He does attempt the Killswitch, but Del Rio pulls on his arm and applies the Cross Armbreaker. Christian has to tap out. Alberto Del Rio defeats Christian! After the match, Alberto Del Rio rolls out of the ring and keeps saying “two time”, referring to the fact that he is trying to become a two time Money in the Bank winner in a few weeks. He heads up the ramp before the camera shows us how disappointed Christian looks after another loss. Unexpectedly, the theme of Bo Dallas hits as he steps out onto the stage with a microphone. He says that he is disappointed in Christian. “You are a former World Heavyweight Champion, you had a legendary tag team run and heck, you were even United States Champion as little as eight days ago. Now, you sit there and wonder what you can do to change things. I happen to know just the thing to turn your frown upside down. All you have to do is Bolieve. If you do that, I can promise you that all of your troubles will go away.” Bo raises his hands in the air, leaving Christian and the WWE Universe confused and a bit annoyed. THE BROTHERHOOD VS. RYBAXEL; Ever since their impressive, but ultimately short coming performance at Payback, Cody Rhodes has grown frustrated. There’s an insert promo from Cody and Goldust, where Cody admits that he has let his feelings get to his head, but he just wants to be back at the level of success they had at the end of last year. The fans are behind them here, but there is a fair amount of crowd love for the hometown boy Curtis Axel. As has become the norm for Cody and Goldust, they come out of the gate hot, with a fast start. Both brothers bust out some impressive high flying moves, but the power of Ryback slows the pace down. It seems like we’re nearing a hot tag to Cody but instead, a perfectly executed Axehole connects, allowing Axel to get a pin in his home state. Rybaxel defeats the Brotherhood! While Curtis Axel and Ryback enjoy their victory, Cody Rhodes looks on in frustration. It wasn’t him who lost this time, but the team still lost again. He checks on his brother, who is also clearly not pleased with their recent struggles.
Backstage, the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige, is walking when she’s stopped by Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie says that she wants to put last week behind them. “Even though you were very disrespectful to me last week, I want to let bygones be bygones. If you want to be the Women’s Champion and not the Divas Champion, then that’s fine.” Paige nods and goes to walk away but Stephanie stops her. “You did say last week that if I wanted the Divas Title back, I could always find someone to beat you for it right? Right. So tonight, you’ll be defending that title against someone you’ve never faced before. Nikki Bella.” Stephanie heads off, but Paige doesn’t seem too concerned with the match.
Cutting back to the arena, the Authority make their way out to the ring. Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista, Sheamus and now, Bad News Barrett all walk to the ring as commentary discusses Barrett joining the team. Triple H gets on the microphone, waiting for the boos to die down before speaking. He says that they are out here tonight for a few reasons. First, they are here to officially welcome Bad News Barrett as the newest member of the Authority. “What you now see in the ring is the greatest collection of talent the WWE has ever seen. The past, present and future of this business is represented in the Authority.” He says that there are no cracks in the Authority. Randy Orton and Barrett are both in Money in the Bank but there is no dissension between them as it’s all about making sure the briefcase is in the Authority because that’s what’s best for business. He goes on, putting over each guy in the ring and their strengths until the Shield interrupt. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns come down through the crowd to a massive ovation from the fans, while Triple H is clearly unhappy with being cut off. They surround the ring, leading the Authority to get ready for a fight but Ambrose grabs a microphone. He says that they aren’t here for a fight just yet. “Honestly, we’re not even out here for all of you. We came out here because my brother over here has a bone to pick with your big ginger.” The crowd laughs at this but Sheamus isn’t amused. Reigns takes the microphone and says that he would be competing in Money in the Bank if it wasn’t for Sheamus. “And maybe you’d be competing in Money in the Bank if it wasn’t for me. I figure that neither one of is gonna be busy in Boston, so why don’t you put that Intercontinental Title on the line against me?” The crowd pops for this, but Triple H chimes in, saying that Reigns doesn’t deserve a shot. Reigns responds by reminding Triple H that he was going to beat him in England until his boys jumped in. “And I know you didn’t forget that I pinned your ass at Payback”. Triple H goes to speak again but Sheamus jumps in, accepting the match. He says that he isn’t afraid of any fight and he’d love the chance to shut Reigns up. Reigns smirks, satisfied that he got his match. Seth Rollins takes the microphone and says that since they’re out here, they should get into some action. He and Dean issue a challenge to the two guys in the ring that will also be in the Money in the Bank match. Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett also accept, giving us our next match. BAD NEWS BARRETT AND RANDY ORTON VS. DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS; The match begins during the commercial break, but we do see clips of it from the WWE App, as well as Triple H sending everyone to the back, including the rest of the Authority. Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton show off some surprisingly good chemistry, managing to play the Shield’s game and cut the ring in half while working over Seth Rollins. The “Architect” of the Shield is able to slip free and make the tag to his lunatic partner. Dena Ambrose comes in firing on all cylinders, leveling both of his opponents. He sends them outside before leaping onto them with a big elbow drop. Back inside, he tags Seth, who springboards in, only to be nailed with a midair Bull Hammer form out of nowhere. Orton knocks Dean off the apron as Barrett covers for the three! Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton defeat Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins! The team of Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton have their hands raised in victory, picking up a wave of momentum before Money in the Bank. “Think about this King, Bad News Barrett just became the first man to pin all three members of the Shield, and he did in one month” states Michael Cole. He is correct as Barrett pinned Seth tonight, Roman Reigns last week and Dean Ambrose a few weeks back on Smackdown.
An advertisement runs to the tune of “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons promoting the WWE Shop. We not only see some of the top stars and Divas, but also some members of the WWE Universe wearing gear from the Shop. JIMMY USO W/ JEY USO VS. ROB VAN DAM W/ KOFI KINGSTON; In a few short weeks at Money in the Bank, these two teams will do battle for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Tonight, it’s a singles match involving two tough competitors. Rob Van Dam is not only used to singles action, but he’s had a Hall of Fame worthy career full of success in them. Jimmy Uso is not as used to them, and it shows as he seems to get a bit more worn as the match goes on. He does bust out a superkick from out of nowhere, but is too tired to cover immediately. This allows Rob Van Dam to capitalize and hit the Five Star Frog Splash to win. Rob Van Dam defeats Jimmy Uso!As Kofi Kingston enters the ring to congratulate his partner, Jey Uso pulls Jimmy out of the ring. Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston high five each other, while the Tag Team Champions look on in disappointment. Even if it’s a singles match, a loss to your top challengers never feels good.
Returning, Michael Cole informs us that a big match has been announced for Main Event tomorrow night. The below graphic is shown to tell us that two of the Money in the Bank competitors will step into the ring as Alberto Del Rio will go one on one with Seth Rollins!
ALEXANDER RUSEV INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. DARREN YOUNG; Returning to the ring, we see that Darren Young has already accepted the Invitational tonight. He tries a different strategy from anyone we’ve seen yet, going after Alexander Rusev’s legs. He manages to surprisingly take the big man down and drops some elbows on him. The commentators are surprised to see Rusev on the defensive, but he proves his worth by quickly rebounding. He hits some impactful offense before using the Accolade to secure another win in the Invitational in under five minutes. Alexander Rusev defeats Darren Young! In what has become the norm for Alexander Rusev, he doesn’t release the Accolade until Lana enters the ring and gives him the signal to break it. He gets to his feet, raising his arms in celebration as Lana grabs a microphone. She runs down Darren Young and turns to badmouthing the United States of America. “Is this really the best your country has to offer? The Bulgarian Brute just obliterated him within minutes.” After a few more negative remarks, Rusev takes over and begins to shout about how he is superior to the entire country of America. Surprisingly, he is cut off by the theme of Jack Swagger. He walks out with Zeb Colter and looks like he means business. Zeb has a microphone, “Rusev, I can respect you trying to be the most dominant Superstar in WWE history but tonight, you’ve taken it too far. You and Laura need to learn a thing or two about the country you reside in. As long as myself, Jack Swagger and every real American in this arena is around, don’t you dare badmouth this beautiful country.” Jack Swagger gets right in Rusev’s face as Zeb demands that Lana and Rusev never speak another bad word about the USA. Lana laughs in his face before telling Rusev to “crush”. He swings at Swagger, who blocks it and fires away with rights hands of his own. The crowd is going nuts for this show of patriotism. Swagger clotheslines Rusev out of the ring, leaving Lana flustered as she heads out with him. Rusev wants back in, but Lana tells him to leave it alone for now. Swagger is fired up as he dares Rusev to enter the ring again and the fans chant “USA!” Zeb then leads them all in a loud “WE THE PEOPLE” while Rusev is furious.
Returning, a clip from the WWE App airs of Batista talking with Triple H. Batista is pissed that everyone is talking about what they’re going to be doing at Money in the Bank, but he lost his qualifying match. “I’m pissed off and I’m tired of losing. Let me take it out on someone tonight.” Triple H ponders it and says that he likes the fire, and he’ll have an opponent for Batista later tonight. WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. NIKKI BELLA; Due to what happened to her sister last week, Nikki Bella does not seem as happy as she normally would be to earn a Women’s Title shot. Paige shows no sympathy, aggressively attacking Nikki with a flurry of offense from the bell. She delivers a series of knees on the apron before screaming “THIS IS MY HOUSE!” at the top of her lungs. Nikki uses this brief opening to kick Paige in the knee, sending her to the mat, where she takes over now. Nikki busts out some surprising power offense, showing off her improvement over the past few months. She actually hoists Paige up for the Rack Attack, but Paige slips free and connect with the Paige Turner! She hooks the leg and picks up the victory. Paige defeats Nikki Bella to retain the WWE Women’s Championship! The bell rings as the crowd pops for the “Anti-Diva” retaining her gold. As she’s enjoying her win, the camera cuts to show us that Stephanie McMahon is watching on a monitor and is not happy about the outcome of this match. Back to the ring and Paige is raising the Women’s Championship high in the air.
We see the above graphic, telling us that next week, right here on Raw, we will see the return of WWE Hall of Famer Edge! The former 11 time World Champions will be live in Cleveland next week to host the Cutting Edge with the Money in the Bank participants as his guest. There is no telling what will happen when those eight men step into the ring with each other.
A short commercial is shown to hype the upcoming season finale of Legends House! Watch as the WWE Legends get emotional around the dinner table and shocking secrets are revealed! BATISTA VS. ZACK RYDER; Batista waits in the ring for his opponent, only for it to be revealed to be Zack Ryder. Ryder looks very worried about what is about to happen, taking a massive gulp as he enters the ring. As soon as the bell rings, Batista charges, but Ryder dodges and he hits the corner. Ryder school boys him for a very close near fall that the crowd buys completely. Batista is fuming as he catches Ryder and plants him with a massive spinebuster. The rest of this match is just Batista beating the hell out of the former United States Champion. He finishes him off with a huge Batista Bomb. Batista defeats Zack Ryder! As Batista looks down on the fallen Zack Ryder, he doesn’t even seem happy that he won. Instead, he picks up Ryder and puts him in position for another Batista Bomb. “THREE AIN’T ENOUGH MAN I NEED FIVE!” is heard as Big E runs out to the ring to a loud ovation from the crowd. Batista throws Ryder to the side, as Big E tackles him down and wails away. Batista turns it over, striking Big E in the face until officials come out to break these two up. “Big E made it clear this past Friday on Smackdown that he was coming for the Authority!” shouts Michael Cole. Both guys are held back by security, but clearly don’t want to stop.
NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. LUKE HARPER W/ BRAY WYATT AND ERICK ROWAN; Bray Wyatt sits in his rocking chair, while Erick Rowan stands beside him throughout this. Daniel Bryan is pretty much a man possessed as he just fires away on Luke Harper from the opening bell. Unfortunately, Harper has a huge size advantage, and is able to turn the tide in the corner, hammering Bryan with shots. At one point, Bryan tries a suicide dive, but Harper catches him and throws him into the guardrail. He then goes in the ring and connects on a suicide dive of his own! Inside, Harper continues to pound on Bryan, as the cameras catch Bray Wyatt with a major grin on his face. That look turns sour when Bryan begins to rally. He reels off a string of his signature moves, including multiple kicks to the chest and head. He backs into the corner, beginning to “Yes!” with the fans while staring at Bray. He charges and hits the Busaiku Knee to end the match. Daniel Bryan defeats Luke Harper!Daniel Bryan is unable to enjoy his victory, as Erick Rowan is in the ring and pouncing on him as soon as the bell rings. He clobbers Bryan, but the resilient champion is able to fight back. Bryan fires away with some kicks, knocking Rowan to his knees. Before he can deliver the big final roundhouse though, Bray Wyatt is in the ring, grabbing him from behind. He swiftly delivers Sister Abigail as the crowd boos this. Luke Harper begins to stir, while Rowan is still feeling the effects of the kicks. Bray however, has Daniel lying in his lap while he strokes his hair. The strange Bray Wyatt continues to do this while humming as Raw goes off the air.

WWE Main Event: June 10th, 2014 – Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin
Instead of our weekly opening Main Event video, we go straight to the arena where we are joined by the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match, Batista. The “Animal” makes his way down to the ring, with an angry look on his face before stepping into the ring. He opens by admitting that he is in a pissed off mood and he blames one man for it. He directs our attention to the Titantron, where a video from Raw airs. It shows Batista defeating Zack Ryder, before Big E shows up on the scene to stop his continued assault and the two powerhouses get into a pull apart brawl. When the camera pans back to Batista, he still looks pissed. “What the hell was that Big E? What is your malfunction? I know that you decided to run your mouth on Smackdown and say you were coming after the Authority, but you picked a fight with the wrong guy. I am not some stepping stone that you’re going to use to prove a point. You need to understand that you barked up the wrong tree with me son. I’ve been in a foul mood lately and was feeling quite nice after I beat the hell out of that punk Zack Ryder. But you just had to mess things up. I know that you aren’t here tonight Big E, but when I see you again, I will end you. Deal with it.” Batista slams down the microphone and exits the ring.
An ad is shown to promote the latest WWE film, Road to Paloma. The movie stars Jason Momoa of Game of Thrones fame. JEY USO W/ JIMMY USO VS. KOFI KINGSTON W/ ROB VAN DAM; Last night on Raw, Rob Van Dam was able to defeat Jimmy Uso in singles competition. Their partners go at it here, in a fast paced, high flying affair. Both guys move quickly through their offense, with neither managing to take full control. Jey hits a big Samoan drop for a near fall, but Kofi comes back with the SOS. Their partners try to rally them as they’re both down. They get to their feet at the same time and Kofi dodges a superkick, before hitting Trouble in Paradise in order to pick up the win. Kofi Kingston defeats Jey Uso!As he’s announced as the winner, Kofi Kingston does his signature Boom Clap for the fans. Rob Van Dam enters the ring to celebrate with him, leaving the Usos disappointed for the second straight night. Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston have now swept the Usos in singles competition, picking up a ton of momentum heading into their Tag Team Title match at Money in the Bank.
An advertisement is shown of Roman Reigns and his daughter. It promotes making sure to be the best dad you can be with Father’s Day right around the corner. DAMIEN SANDOW AND TITUS O’NEIL VS. R-TRUTH AND XAVER WOODS; As the team of Damien Sandow and Titus O’Neil make their way to the ring, we get an insert promo from the two. Titus mentions that he grew weary of Sandow watching his matches recently and confronted him about it. Sandow said it was because he saw something in Titus and knew that there was more to him than we had seen. He calls Titus an intellectual like himself and that together, they can take the WWE by storm because there is nobody smarter than the two of them. Most people are unaware, but the two of them actually won Tag Team Titles together a few years back. They dusted off some of that old chemistry here, and worked well together. They finish off Truth with a Clash of the Titus. Damien Sandow and Titus O’Neil defeat Xavier Woods and R-Truth!A negative reaction rains down from the crowd as they are not happy to see the stuck up duo take home the win. Instead of fully celebrating though, Damien Sandow goes over to Xavier Woods and tells him something. He then pats him on the back and leaves with Titus O’Neil. Woods is left looking a bit confused, while also being concerned for his partner.
The WWE Shop ad to the tune of “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons is shown. We see multiple shots of Sheamus, Paige, John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and others wearing authentic gear from the WWE Shop. Tom Phillips now informs us that a major match has been signed for this Friday night’s Smackdown. In a preview of the upcoming Money in the Bank match, Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett of the Authority will team up to take on CM Punk and the United States Champion Dolph Ziggler!
We cut to Renee Young who is standing by with the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige. Before asking a question, she shows us a video from the WWE App where Stephanie McMahon says that she wants the title off of Paige and will make her defend it as much as possible until she loses it. Renee asks Paige if this is concerning. Paige says that she isn’t concerned about it. “Don’t get me wrong. There are plenty of talented women in the back who will be tough to beat. However, I’m not concerned because this is what I was born to do. I was born to defend this title at every turn and against every challenger. So bring them all on Stephanie. I’ll be waiting.” ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. SETH ROLLINS; Recently, the Shield have been competing without their brothers at ringside and tonight is no exception. Seth Rollins and Alberto Del Rio start by feeling each other out since they aren’t frequent opponents. Del Rio targets the arm right off the bat, but Seth is wise to try and keep his arm away. He does nearly end up in the Cross Armbreaker, but clasps his hands together to prevent the hold from fully being put on. He comes back with a springboard knee and goes for the Avada Kedavra, but Del Rio ducks and sweeps Seth. He now tries his superkick but Seth ducks that one before nailing the Pele. Del Rio is able to apply the Cross Armbreaker though, but Seth edges over to the ropes and grabs hold. Del Rio refuses to break the hold by the count of five, leading to the official calling for the bell. Seth Rollins defeats Alberto Del Rio via disqualification! The bell continues to ring but Alberto Del Rio refuses to break the hold. “Alberto Del Rio is looking to injure Seth Rollins before Money in the Bank!” shouts Tom Phillips. “Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield.” Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose run down through the crowd to a huge ovation from the crowd, but Del Rio releases the hold and escapes up the ramp before they can get to him. He gives a sly wink at the camera before heading through the curtain, leaving the Shield furious in the ring.

WWE NXT: June 12th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Opening things tonight, a video package airs of Adrian Neville retaining the NXT Championship against Brodus Clay at TakeOver two weeks ago. It then shows the three Superstars who made a claim for the NXT title last week; Corey Graves, Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd. The last thing we see is Adrian Neville grant Rob Van Dam a title shot that will headline tonight’s broadcast. ALEXA BLISS, BAYLEY AND EMMA VS. THE BEAUTIFUL FIERCE FEMALES; Seven nights ago, Summer Rae made her return to NXT, siding with her old BFFs. Tonight, the three girls who opposed them last week try and defeat them. Even though the BFFs are back together, it is pretty obvious that they are not the strong unit they once were. We see catty arguments and disagreements between all three girls, even when they are in the driver’s seat of the match. Alexa Bliss plays the face in peril throughout this, before finally making the tag to Bayley, which gets a major pop from Full Sail University. She comes in hitting a bunch of offense but it is a miscommunication that actually costs the BFFs this match. Summer Rae bumps into Sasha Banks before falling onto the apron and knocking Charlotte off. Bayley hits the Belly to Bayley on Sasha for the win. Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Emma defeat The Beautiful Fierce Females! The lovable team of Bayley, Alexa Bliss and Emma are ecstatic over their victory. The BFFs regroup outside and continue to bicker. Sasha Banks can be heard blaming Summer Rae for the loss, while Charlotte also admits not fault, citing that she’s the champion. Alex Riley mentions that Bayley may be in line for a future NXT Women’s Title match and that beating the BFFs is a pretty big deal for these three ladies.
As we see the BFFs heading up the ramp arguing, the video feed is cut into just like it has been in recent weeks. It cuts to Solomon Crowe sitting in the backstage arena with a tablet or sorts in his hands. He doesn’t take his eyes off the tablet, but speaks to the camera, saying that the time has come. “NXT likes to have their ‘TakeOvers’ but there is another takeover happening. It’s the Solomon Crowe takeover. What I did last week to Adam Rose was just the beginning. With this in my hands, I run the show and I do what I want. The song of Solomon has been sung.”
An ad airs to hype up the Season Finale of Legends House, which airs next on the WWE Network! Hear your favorite legends reveal some major secrets about their lives! Backstage, we see the BFFs in their locker room. The argument has not ceased as Sasha Banks continues to blame Summer Rae for the loss. Summer retorts that Sasha and Charlotte would be nobodies without her and claims to be the leader of the group. Charlotte chimes in, “Look, I understand that you formed the BFFs and it’s appreciated, but I think you forget something very important. I have the NXT Women’s Championship, so if anybody is in charge around here, it’s me.” Both Summer and Sasha disagree and the bickering between the three ladies doesn’t stop. ANGELO DAWKINS VS. TYLER BREEZE; Coming off a big win at TakeOver against Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze staked his claim last week for the NXT Championship. Tonight, the fun loving Angelo Dawkins looks to stop his momentum. Breeze looks like he doesn’t even want to touch Dawkins, but locks up with him anyway. Dawkins actually gets in some offense, but Breeze regroups rather quickly. He nails the Beauty Shot, earning the victory. Tyler Breeze defeats Angelo Dawkins!Much like recent weeks, Tyler Breeze impresses everyone watching. He gets to his feet and goes straight for his cellphone. He fixes his hair into place while looking into it. There is a distraction in the crowd behind him as CJ Parker is walking around with a sign that says “Don’t Pollute Your Mind, Don’t Pollute the Earth”. He seems to be protesting something.
In the back, Tyson Kidd is shown when Natalya comes up to him. She says that she went to talk to John “Bradshaw” Layfield about a title shot for Tyson but JBL declined, stating that Kidd did win last week, but he also lost to Tyler Breeze at TakeOver. He wants Tyson to get some more wins. Tyson is displeased, partially blaming Natalya for this. “Are you sure it wasn’t how you asked him? Did you make sure to mention that I am the last graduate of the Hart Family dungeon? Did you make sure to mention that I am a star of Total Divas? Did you tell him that I am the father of three beautiful cats? Did you tell him everything that I bring to the table?” When Natalya says she didn’t mention those things, Tyson gets annoyed and walks off.
The WWE Shop ad set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons is shown. You can get all of the authentic WWE apparel only at the WWE Shop. Aiden English is shown backstage contemplating his recent struggles. Suddenly, a man with a mustache comes up to him and the screen goes black and white. English questions what’s going on, but we can’t hear it as it seems like a silent film. The words “Hello, I’m Simon Gotch” appear on the screen before we cut back to the two men. Gotch picks up a steel structure nearby as English seems wowed by his strength. Gotch walks off leaving English confused but amazed. KALISTO VS. JUSTIN GABRIEL; Since his debut about a month ago, Kalisto has quickly become one of the most popular Superstars in NXT. His high flying style is captivating, but one of the men who should be able to hang with him in that department is the daredevil Justin Gabriel. They match each other hold for hold and move for move early, with no man gaining a clear upper hand. Kalisto does an impressive handstand walk that Gabriel counters with a handspring flying kick for two. He climbs to the top, but Kalisto leaps up and pulls him down with an arm drag. He goes up top himself, flying off with a corkscrew attack. He waits for Gabriel to get to his feet, before nailing the Salida Del Sol to score a win. Kalisto defeats Justin Gabriel!Kalisto has his arm raised in victory, celebrating a win over a former multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion. Despite recent tough losses to Tyson Kidd and Adrian Neville, Kalisto remains pretty hot in his NXT run. “Could he be a potential future challenger for the NXT Title?” asks Renee Young.
Devin Taylor is now standing by with the NXT Champion, Adrian Neville. She asks him about facing Rob Van Dam tonight. Neville gives a small laugh and again mentions that Rob Van Dam is someone he looks up to. “RVD is one of the greatest high flyers in the history of the WWE. But my goal is to be even better than that. It is an honor to defend my NXT Title against him tonight, but don’t think for one second that I will be star struck in there. I’m going in there with every intention of retaining my gold.” Devin questions him about the multitude of Superstars clamoring for his title. Neville says that is nothing new because the NXT Title is the ultimate goal and he’s ready for all challengers, but his focus is on RVD tonight.
A Father’s Day advertisement is shown, focusing on Alberto Del Rio reading bedtime stories to his son. Don’t forget to celebrate the fathers of the world later this month! The camera pans over the commentary table, where Rich Brennen reminds us that at TakeOver, Corey Graves bested Sami Zayn in a Falls Count Anywhere match. We haven’t heard from Sami since he tapped out, but he will return to Full Sail University next week! NXT CHAMPIONSHIP – ADRIAN NEVILLE (C) VS. ROB VAN DAM; Adrian Neville captured the NXT Title in February at NXT ArRival. He’s faced tough challenges since then, but tonight may be the toughest. Rob Van Dam is a veteran of the business and a former WWE Champion. He seemingly knows what Neville is going to do before he does it. Alex Riley points out that RVD worked such a similar style to Neville when he was younger that it’s like looking into the future. However, Neville is able to change things when he hits a major dive to the outside that stuns RVD. Once inside, Neville climbs up for the Red Arrow, but RVD gets his knees up. He covers but can only get two. It’s now RVD’s turn to take to the skies, but Neville rolls away from a Five Star Frog Splash. Instead of instantly climbing, Neville dead lifts RVD with a German suplex before going up top and scoring with an inverted 450 splash! That is enough to nab the victory. Adrian Neville defeats Rob Van Dam to retain the NXT Championship! The NXT Universe gives a standing ovation for the performance of these two fine athletes. Adrian Neville is handed his NXT Championship, which he clutches to his chest. Rob Van Dam looks disappointed moments later, but rises to his feet and extends his hand to Neville. Neville accepts and two men embrace in a show of respect or even a passing of the torch to close NXT tonight.

Friday Night Smackdown: June 13th, 2014 – Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin
This week’s Smackdown kicks off with a video showing clips of the rivalry between Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt. We see how this past Monday, Bryan got to step into the ring against the man who nearly injured his wife, Luke Harper. After a grueling contest, Bryan was able to beat Harper, but Bray and Erick Rowan were on the attack as soon as it ended. Bray ended Raw by hitting Sister Abigail on Bryan and cuddling him while laughing. The opening Smackdown video package airs, but instead of being welcomed to the show by our commentary team, we start with the Authority already in the ring. Not all of them, but Randy Orton, Intercontinental Champion Sheamus and Bad News Barrett. The crowd boos them mercilessly until Orton begins to speak. He talks about the upcoming Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View, citing his status as not only a 12 time World Champion, but also as last year’s Money in the Bank winner. “Now I know that a lot of you people would love to see some tension between myself and the newest Authority member, Bad News Barrett, because we’re both in the Money in the Bank match, but I assure you, that will not happen.” Barrett laugh as he’s handed the microphone, saying that the Authority knows what’s best for business. “That is making sure that the Money in the Bank briefcase is where it belongs with one of us. It has to stay in the Authority.” Barrett continues on, saying that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship needs to come back home to the Authority, just like where the Intercontinental Championship is. Sheamus now speaks, saying that he is bringing back the prestige to the Intercontinental Title that it lost when the likes of Big E held it. “I may not have qualified for Money in the Bank, but I plan on ending your precious Roman Reigns.” Before he can continue, Kane’s pyro hits as he steps out onto the stage. However, instead of being dressed like the Demon, he is back in the suit and tie. The Authority members are taken aback by this as he enters the ring. He takes a microphone, saying that he is back in charge as the Director of Operations. “I know that when I put the mask back on, I let a lot of people down by losing to Daniel Bryan at Payback, and then again by losing to CM Punk, allowing him to qualify for Money in the Bank. I guarantee you that the struggles are over and I am here to help the Authority. To prove that, I am going to give you a big hand tonight Sheamus. I am going to face Roman Reigns right now.” Sheamus seems impressed by this as the theme of the Shield hits to a massive pop, setting up our opening contest. KANE VS. ROMAN REIGNS; Following the commercial break, Roman Reigns and Kane are already doing battle. Kane, despite not being in the mask and “demon” attire, is aggressive as ever, pounding away on Reigns. He even manages to hit the chokeslam but Reigns gets his shoulder up. Kane looks to be frustrated by this and signals for the Tombstone. Instead, he turns around right into a big Superman punch. The crowd comes to their feet as Reigns stalks Kane in the corner. He charges in for the Spear but Kane dodges and Reigns crashes into the corner. Kane goes for a second chokeslam, but Reigns slugs his way out of it. Knowing his shoulder is too damaged to hit the Spear, he connects on a second Superman punch that ends the competitive match. Roman Reigns defeats Kane!Roman Reigns gets to his feet and stares into the camera as the fans celebrate the win. He motions around his waist for the Intercontinental Title before standing on the second rope and raising his arms in the air. He exits through the crowd, where his Shield brothers greet him.
Returning, Kane is livid backstage at the loss. He turns over a table before seeing Vickie Guerrero. He tells her that he’s in charge around here and not the General Manager. Vickie seems surprised that he’s taking his anger out on her since she didn’t do anything. She tries to fire back but Kane demands that she go find Dean Ambrose and tell him that he’ll be in a match tonight as punishment for what Roman Reigns just did and the Shield is banned from ringside. He storms off, leaving Vickie confused, annoyed and angry.
THE BROTHERHOOD VS. ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER; In recent weeks, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have grown to become the most hated duo in the entire WWE. Their heinous part in what Bray Wyatt did to Brie Bella is not forgotten. The Brotherhood actually defeated them shortly before Payback. They seem on the road to doing that again this week, as Cody Rhodes nails some springboard offense. Unfortunately, things tend to turn sour for Cody and Goldust lately, which it does here again. Cody tries one too many high risk moves and gets caught with a vicious spinning lariat from Harper. Rowan holds Goldust back as Harper covers for the win. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeats The Brotherhood!Erick Rowan enters the ring to stand side by side with his “brother”. Luke Harper bounces back after his tough loss to Daniel Bryan this past Monday. They leave the ring as Cody Rhodes slowly gets up, once again showing signs of frustration. Goldust tries to calm him down, but Cody wants to hear none of it, irate at another loss.
Before going to commercial, a graphic appears to remind us of tonight’s main event. CM Punk teams with the United States Champion, Dolph Ziggler, to take on Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett! BO DALLAS VS. JUSTIN GABRIEL; Joining the commentary booth for this match is “Captain Charisma”. Christian has been on a losing streak as of late, struggling since dropping the United States Championship. Bo Dallas came out after his loss this past Monday, to run him down for not “Believing.” Christian spends his time during the match saying that he’s going to break out of his rut and he doesn’t need to Bolieve to do so. Bo Dallas meanwhile, takes an interest in Christian on commentary throughout this match, but not in a negative fashion. He gives him random thumbs up during this, allowing Gabriel to get a near fall. Bo is able to focus up and lock in the Bo and Arrow, which is enough to put Gabriel away. Bo Dallas defeats Justin Gabriel! Before the referee can even raise his arm, Bo Dallas exits the ring for his victory lap. He stops by Christian to shout “I DID IT”. Christian seems annoyed as Bo tells him “this could be you. Just Bolieve and you won’t be such a loser.” Christian gives a slight smirk before leveling Bo with a right hand. The crowd pops as Bo backs away in fear ad Christian stares down at him, shouting “Bo! Leave!” The crowd joins in chanting “Bo leave” as Bo looks like he is about to burst into tears.
A graphic shows up to tell us what the top ten most watched shows on the WWE Network this week are. Rounding out the top five are Payback, NXT, Payback Kickoff, Legends House and Main Event. Returning to the arena, Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger show up to a standing ovation from the WWE Universe. If you’re wondering why the fans have this change of heart towards the Real Americans, a replay airs of Swagger confronting Alexander Rusev this past Monday on Raw for their negative words about the United States. When they get in the ring, Zeb Colter grabs a microphone and begins to talk about the relationship between he and Swagger since he came to the WWE in 2013. “I was looking for a Real American that I could lead to success and one man stood out above all of the rest. Jack Swagger. The Oklahoman hoss, the former World Heavyweight Champion, the man with the amateur background and most importantly of all, a fellow Real American.” He mentions that they’ve been through ups and downs, lost some partners and friends along the way, but there have been three constants. “Myself, Jack Swagger and our love for this beautiful country. So you’ll have to excuse us if we come out and do something when we hear some big Bulgarian and his Rocky IV wannabe manager running down America. Jack suffered a difficult loss to Cesaro at Payback, and we were regrouping, trying to think of a new strategy, but you’ve changed that Rusev. Understand this boy; this isn’t about your little Invitational Challenge. This is about the nerve you have to speak ill of this beloved country. Jack Swagger is going to teach you a lesson when he gets his hands on you.” To end the promo, Zeb tells every Real American to place their hand over their hearts and join them in shouting “WE THE PEOPLE!” NON-TITLE MATCH: SHEAMUS VS. DEAN AMBROSE; Sheamus turns out to be the punishment for Dean Ambrose, but he seems pretty happy at the chance to get his hands on a member of the Authority. Sheamus continues to prove just how vicious and violent he can be though, pounding away on Ambrose. He wails on him with the beats of Bodhran for two. He levels Ambrose with a Polish hammer, but the “Lunatic Fringe” rebounds off the middle rope, firing back with a big clothesline. He seems to be gearing up for Dirty Deeds but Sheamus shoves him off the ropes and tries the Brogue Kick. Ambrose ducks and rolls him up with a handful of tights for a near fall. As both men get up, Sheamus blatantly low blows him in front of the referee, who signals for the bell. Dean Ambrose defeats Sheamus via disqualification!More content with hurting Dean Ambrose than winning the match, Sheamus connects on a Brogue Kick. He stands over the fallen Ambrose and raises his fist in the air, before shout Roman Reigns’ name. “That could be the image we see at Money in the Bank when Sheamus faces Roman Reigns” says Michael Cole. Bray Wyatt, flanked by Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, is now shown in a dark room backstage. He begins to talk about Daniel Bryan and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. “I told you last week that I didn’t do what I did to Brie Bella out of some personal disdain for you. You know I like you Daniel. You’re one of the different ones. Like me. But then you tried to take things out on my son Luke here. How dare you Daniel? You forced my hand! You made me go into that ring on Raw. It’s just like when a mother animal sees another animal threatening their young. They pounce! They rip! They shred, their threats. But now Daniel, the focus is back on your WWE World Heavyweight Championship. You see, that title is my power! That title is my absolution! That title is mine and you stand in my path so you will burn.” He closes with his trademark “follow the buzzards” statement.
The above graphic is shown as Michael Cole informs us that the match has officially been set. The eerie Bray Wyatt will get his WWE World Heavyweight Title shot against Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank! BIG E VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; We’ve seen a new side of Tyson Kidd over in NXT lately, which carries over here. He is extremely cocky as he walks to the ring. He even gets right in the face of Big E, who is playing no games tonight. He aggressively takes down Kidd before tossing him into the corner and beating him down. Kidd is able to wriggle free of the former Intercontinental Champion’s grasp and hit a superkick. He springboards in with an elbow drop but can only earn a near fall. Kidd grabs the legs for the Sharpshooter, but the powerful Big E kicks him off into the corner. He follows in with a shoulder thrust and the Big Ending for the win. Big E defeats Tyson Kidd!
The fans cheer as Big E once again shows that he means business. After his attack on Batista this past Monday, as well as Batista calling him out on Main Event, one has to assume that these two brutes will collide this Monday night on Raw in some fashion.
An ad airs to promote Father’s Day, focusing on Alberto Del Rio. It shows him reading a story to his son, involving other WWE Superstars. CESARO VS. RYBACK W/ CURTIS AXEL; In another tune up match for a Money in the Bank match participant, Cesaro goes up against one of the strongest men in all of the WWE, Ryback. Despite his recent run in the tag team division, Ryback is still a force to be reckoned with in singles action due to his hard hitting nature. Cesaro, however, can make strikes with the best of them. His European uppercuts back Ryback into the corner, where he then takes him out with a superplex. Ryback fights back though, setting up for the Meat Hook clothesline. Cesaro is able to block it with his forearms in surprising fashion. Ryback is stunned so he charges, but Cesaro pops him up for the uppercut before the Neutralizer puts him down for the count. Cesaro defeats Ryback!Curtis Axel looks on in awe, which the camera catches in a humorous moment. Cesaro stands up and throws his arm in the air, before pointing up at the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above the ring. “Look at the things Cesaro can do in the middle of that ring. You have to consider him one of the favorites to win the briefcase at Money in the Bank” says JBL.
Renee Young is now standing by with CM Punk. She asks him for his thoughts on tonight and Money in the Bank. Punk first makes sure to put over how incredibly tough it was to beat Cesaro this past Monday and that he’s looking forward to a future rematch. “As for tonight…I’m excited about it. You see, one of the reasons that I left was because I was tired of seeing the guys the Authority view as ‘stars’ get opportunity after opportunity while a guy like this was held back.” He points off camera, as Dolph Ziggler steps into view. Punk says that he couldn’t ask for a better partner tonight than the United States Champion. Dolph takes over, stating that he was tired of being held down in the WWE. “So I went and did something to change that. I won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Then, I won this title. My next goal, is Money in the Bank again.” He looks over at Punk reminding him that they’re partners tonight, but at Money in the Bank, it’s every man for himself, which Punk agrees with. ALICIA FOX VS. NAOMI VS. CAMERON; At the start of this match, Michael Cole informs everyone that Stephanie McMahon has announced that this Monday night on Raw, Paige will defend her Women’s Championship again. Her opponent will be one of these three ladies, as voted by fans on the WWE App. Alicia Fox, the only former Divas Champion in the mix, impresses the most early on. The tandem of the Funkadactyls is able to take her down though, before Cameron nails her partner from behind. She rolls her up with a handful of tights and steals this thing. Cameron defeats Alicia Fox and Naomi!Naomi looks up at her friend in disbelief, but Cameron is celebrating like she just won the Women’s Championship. Alicia Fox can be seen outside, mad about the result. Naomi questions Cameron, saying they’re supposed to friends. Cameron says she did what she had to do to win. Naomi goes to respond, but Cameron puts her hand in her face, saying “girl bye” before walking off. Naomi gives her a stunned look, not able to believe what her friend just did.
Before our main event, a recap airs which shows how each of the Money in the Bank participants qualified for the big match. The final four men focused on, are the four in our main event. BAD NEWS BARRETT AND RANDY ORTON W/ KANE AND SHEAMUS VS. CM PUNK AND DOLPH ZIGGLER; The sight of Kane and Sheamus at ringside, rightfully has CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler worried. Punk opens things with an old foe, Randy Orton. Things move along at a brisk tag team pace for a while, with the interactions between Dolph Ziggler and Bad News Barrett standing out. You just know that these two are headed on a collision course for the United States Title soon. The Authority cut the ring in half, really taking it to CM Punk. He is able to hit a kick to the skull from out of nowhere and make the hot tag to Ziggler. Ziggler comes in firing on all cylinders and nails Barrett with the Zig Zag. Before he can cover, Kane gets on the apron to distract the official. Orton drags Barrett to the corner, tagging himself in. Orton turns Ziggler around and drops him with the RKO. He covers, earning the three. Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton defeat CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler!CM Punk misses the finish of the match, as he was trying to get Kane down from the apron. Kane levels him with a throat thrust before Sheamus lays him out with a Brogue Kick. Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett pose over Dolph Ziggler in the ring, making sure the Authority have a successful end to the night.

Monday Night Raw: June 16th, 2014 – Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio
Following the weekly Raw intro, we cut straight to the sold out and vocal crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome the viewers to tonight’s episode, hyping the fact that WWE Hall of Famer Edge is here to host the Cutting Edge. Before they can get any further, the theme music of CM Punk hits the speakers. CM Punk walks out to the ring to a thunderous ovation from Cleveland. This arena hosted Raw the night after the Royal Rumble, when CM Punk left the WWE so they are happy to have him back. As he enters the ring, “CM Punk” chants ring out, while he patiently waits for it to die down. He says that he is here tonight with one thing on his mind and that’s the Authority. “I told everyone when I came back that the Authority was on my hit list, but after Smackdown last week, they need to be dealt with now. Because of them, myself and Dolph Ziggler lost to Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett. The reason we lost is because the Authority cannot do anything themselves. They had to have Sheamus and the big red sellout at ringside.” He continues to run down the Authority before reminding us that he is not alone in his disdain for them, bringing out the United States Champion, Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler takes the microphone, telling his tale of being held down. “You see, I’ve suffered from the same fate as Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. I’ve been held down because the Authority doesn’t view me as an ‘A+ Player’. I had to make my own opportunity by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and then this United States Title.” He goes on to say that he is no longer going to stand by and allow himself and others to be overlooked. He wants to take the company back from the Authority. They are cut off by the theme of the Director of Operations. Kane steps onto the stage, informing us that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are off tonight doing very important business elsewhere. “I am in charge tonight and I come with some news. First, I’ve decided on tonight’s main event. The Shield will compete against Bad News Barrett, Randy Orton and Sheamus.” The crowd pops for this news before Kane focuses on the two men in the ring. He tells them that they should not speak ill of those in power and for this they will be punished. “You two seem to be so chummy and going into Money in the Bank, I don’t like that. So right now, in that very ring, the two of you will go one on one with each other.” Despite two fan favorites having to do battle, the crowd seems to like the idea. “That is absolutely best for business” cites JBL. NON-TITLE MATCH: CM PUNK VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; During CM Punk’s historic 434 day reign as WWE Champion, these two clashed several times. The roles have reversed a bit as Dolph Ziggler is now the one holding gold. Early on, both guys are trying to outwrestle the other on the mat, which Dolph is able to do. Punk slips free, causing Dolph to slick back his hair and taunt. Punk gives a smirk at the confident Ziggler, before outworking him and doing it back. Ziggler now cracks a smile, and they continue through a commercial break with neither man gaining a clear advantage. Both guys counter the other’s finisher as the battle continues. Punk tries the GTS, but Ziggler slips behind him and plants him with the Zig Zag! He covers but Punk is able to get his shoulder up. Ziggler is in disbelief as he questions the official. Punk is up and tries to roll Ziggler up, but the US Champion counters into his own rollup and scores the pinfall. Dolph Ziggler defeats CM Punk in 15:58!The WWE Universe gets to their feet, giving these guys a standing ovation. Dolph Ziggler continues to ride his wave of momentum, picking up a major victory over a game CM Punk. Even Dolph himself is rather stunned that he pulled it off. Punk is on his knees in disbelief, but he gets to his feet and extends his hand to Ziggler. Dolph shakes it and Punk raises his arm. “CM Punk has to admit that tonight, Dolph Ziggler was the better man. Kane’s plan to drive a wedge between them seems to have backfired” says Jerry Lawler.
Returning, Michael Cole reminds the viewers that there is a big vote going on right now on the WWE App. “Even though Stephanie McMahon is off tonight, she has set Paige up to defend the Women’s Championship tonight. She has left the opponent, however, up to the WWE Universe. You can go on the WWE App right now and choose Paige’s challenger tonight. Your options are Alicia Fox, Cameron or Naomi. And the way you download the WWE App is…”ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. CESARO; Two matches in, two previews of Money in the Bank. This past Friday on Smackdown, Cesaro defeated Ryback, while last Tuesday Alberto Del Rio nearly injured the arm of Seth Rollins. Tonight, Cesaro is wise to this, doing his best to avoid any and all attempts to work his arm. Del Rio grows frustrated with how well Cesaro has him scouted, choosing to just overwhelm his opponent with kicks. Cesaro is able to catch a kick and brutalize him with an uppercut. He sends Del Rio off the ropes and connects on the popup uppercut but Del Rio kicks out. Cesaro grabs the legs for the big swing, but Del Rio is ready and pulls him into an inside cradle for two. When both men get up, Cesaro is ready, nailing the Neutralizer to claim the win. Cesaro defeats Alberto Del Rio in 11:08!Much like Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro has looked incredibly strong since Payback and tonight was no different. He raises his fist in the air, looking like a very strong candidate to capture the Money in the Bank briefcase in Boston. Cesaro points up at the briefcase just like he did on Smackdown, making his intentions clear.
Backstage, Kane is shown in his office when a knock is heard. In steps Batista, who comes up to him. They don’t seem as friendly as you would expect two Authority members to be. Batista says that he wants to get his hands on Big E tonight. Kane responds by telling him that the show is all booked up tonight. Batista retorts, “I didn’t ask for your politically correct answer. If you won’t give me a match with him tonight, I’ll find him myself.” Batista heads off before Kane shrugs and goes back to work.
The crowd comes alive as our WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan steps through the curtain. He seems in a better mood than he was in last week. When he enters the ring, he gets a microphone and brings up the announcement that was made on Smackdown. “It’s official. At Money in the Bank, I will defend my WWE World Heavyweight Title against Bray Wyatt. I’m fine with that. I just wish that this could be about the championship only. Instead, Bray again has targeted me and my family. He’s had it out for me for a long time now, and still believes that I can be a part of his family.” He continues by saying that his family is Brie Bella and he’d much rather be around her than the likes of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. “Speaking of Erick Rowan, that’s why I’m out here right now actually. Last week, I got my hands on Luke Harper and I’ll get Bray Wyatt at Money in the Bank. Tonight, I want to complete the trio. Give me Erick Rowan!” The crowd chants “Yes” at this as Bryan looks around, awaiting an answer. The Wyatt signature hits, and as the lights come back on, Bray Wyatt is seated in his rocking chair with Luke Harper by his side. As the camera moves to Bryan, Erick Rowan is behind him and levels him. A referee runs out, and it looks like we’ve got a match. NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. ERICK ROWAN W/ THE WYATT FAMILY; Due to the attack before the bell, Daniel Bryan is on the ropes. Erick Rowan uses his major power advantage to just wallop Bryan. The Champion is unable to get out of the blocks, just taking a pounding from the ginger Wyatt Family member. Bryan begins to stage a comeback, firing away with kick to the chest of Rowan. He comes off the ropes with a big running elbow before setting up for the Busaiku Knee in the corner. The crowd chants “Yes” with him, giving us a similar sight to his match against Luke Harper last week. Instead of hitting it and winning though, Harper runs in and clubs him, resulting in the disqualification. Daniel Bryan defeats Erick Rowan via disqualification in 11:31!
Daniel Bryan tries to fight off Luke Harper, but Erick Rowan gets involved, making it impossible. Bray Wyatt continues to rock in his chair, with a big smile. As Harper and Rowan hold Bryan’s arms, Bay shoots up from his chair. He paces back and forth before throwing his hat off, looking to strike. He climbs the steps only for Bryan to nail Rowan with a low blow, before turning and hitting Harper with one too. The crowd roars as both big men stumble away and Bryan dares Bray to enter. Bray stops in his tracks, slowly backing away. Bryan charges at Harper, taking him out with the Busaiku Knee and does the same to Rowan. Bray looks on as Bryan dares him to get in the ring, but he just continues to stare him down. For one night at least, Daniel Bryan is able to gain the upper hand on the Wyatt Family.
Standing by backstage is Renee Young with Big E. She asks him about calling out the Authority. Big E responds by saying that his issue with the Authority differs from that of Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. “It’s not about being held back or anything like that. It’s about the fact that they have kept my Intercontinental Title away from me. That belt means more to me than anything else, and Sheamus joined the Authority to prevent me from getting it back.” Renee then asks about Batista wanting a match with him tonight. Big E says that he wants the exact same thing, but then he’s leveled from behind by Batista. The “Animal” beats on him before throwing him into the set. He picks him up and puts him through a nearby table with a vicious Batista Bomb. As Big E lies there in pain, Batista crouches and tells him “I’ll see you at Money in the Bank.” HEATH SLATER W/ DREW MCINTYRE AND JINDER MAHAL VS. JACK SWAGGER W/ ZEB COLTER; Seven nights ago, Jack Swagger came out to faceoff with Alexander Rusev in honor of the United States. As Swagger works over Heath Slater with some of his powerful offense, Lana walks out onto the stage. Zeb Colter goes to the ramp and demand that she leave at once. She laughs at him before Rusev appears next to her, waving the Russian flag. This distraction allows Slater to school boy Swagger, but it isn’t enough. Swagger seems pissed now as he charges and lays out Slater with a big boot. He then applies the Ankle Lock, leaving Slater no choice but to tap out. Jack Swagger defeats Heath Slater in 2:13!Cheers rain down from the WWE Universe in Cleveland, which is not something Jack Swagger is usually accustomed to. Zeb Colter gets in the ring, standing side by side with him. They look up at Lana and Alexander Rusev atop the stage, as Rusev continues to wave the flag. Swagger and Zeb do the “WE THE PEOPLE” line with the entire crowd as it is very clear that these two are headed for a big time collision soon.
Returning, Michael Cole informs us that the Alexander Rusev Invitational returns tomorrow night and for the first time ever, it comes to Main Event. See it live at 8E/7C only on the WWE Network!
A vignette airs of a party bus and a bunch of strange looking characters having a good time. A man appears in the midst of them, introducing himself as Adam Rose. He welcomes the viewers onto the Exotic Express and says that he’s coming to Raw soon. Our Women’s Champion now joins us to a major pop as Paige walks down to the ring. She removes her jacket and awaits the news of who her opponent is. We are directed to the Titantron where the results of the WWE App vote are shown. In a pretty landslide win, Naomi is selected to face Paige tonight. WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. NAOMI W/ CAMERON; Cameron accompanies Naomi to the ring despite the fact that she is clearly irritated about losing the vote. She actually spends the match jawing with fans at ringside for not voting for her. Inside the ring, Naomi gets off to a quick start. With Paige unsure of who she’d be facing, she’s a bit behind Naomi who was able to prepare in advance. Paige is able to weather the storm though, turning things around with some stiff headbutts. She manages to get in some of her trademark moves, while Cameron just looks on, seemingly bored. Paige nails the RamPaige to retain the gold. Paige defeats Naomi to retain the WWE Women’s Championship in 4:49!Cameron gives an annoyed look at the result, as the official brings the Women’s Championship to Paige. She raises it high in the air, once again proving that she is a force to be reckoned with in the Divas division. After she leaves the ring, Cameron enters and questions why Naomi lost. Naomi doesn’t want to hear it, but the tension continues to build between the Funkadactyls.
A promo airs to promote the upcoming release of Batista’s new DVD. See the “Animal” discuss his career in Hollywood, as well as his return to the WWE at the start of the year. Returning, the ring is set up for the Cutting Edge, with the Money in the Bank participants inside. There is also a large ladder open in the middle of the ring. The fans are buzzing in anticipation and explode as the theme of the “Rated R Superstar” hits. Edge runs out, basking in the ovation from the WWE Universe. He gets down into the ring and allows a “Welcome Back” chant to rush over him. He starts by saying that he couldn’t be happier to be back where he belongs, inside of a WWE ring. “In a few weeks, these eight men will meet in the Money in the Bank match. Believe me people, I know a thing or two about Money in the Bank.” He mentions that he was the first ever winner and one of only two men to successfully cash in twice. This brings him to CM Punk, who gets a major pop from the fans. He tells Punk that winning Money in the Bank twice is nearly impossible, so he doesn’t even know what to call trying to win it three times. Punk responds by saying that he’s made a career out of doing things that people think is impossible. Edge mentions that Punk has looked pretty close to Dolph Ziggler in the last week, but reminds them that there are no friends in that match. Instead of hearing from either man, Bad News Barrett pulls a microphone out of his boot and interrupts. “Listen Edge, I know that you’re out here interviewing us because you believe you are some sort of expert on the match and that’s fine, but you’re talking to the wrong guys. You should be speaking to myself or Randy Orton, because none of these other scrubs are going to retrieve that briefcase.” Orton gives a small chuckle before Edge comes over to them. Edge brings up his history with Orton before turning on Barrett. “Randy has more than earned my respect over his career. You’re a different story on the other hand. You seem to be a bit insecure Wade. You seem to need the attention here. Is it because you aren’t confident in your ability to win this match? I mean, you don’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to these big matches do you?” Barrett is displeased with the comment, but Edge quickly turns to the two members of the Shield. The crowd pops big for the two of them. Edge says that they have an interesting situation going. “I know that Wade and Randy are both in the Authority and in this match, but that’s more of a business relationship. You two have gone on record to say that you’re brothers. How does that play into the ladder match?” Seth Rollins speaks first, saying that he and Dean Ambrose both came into this business to make an impact. “We’ve done that together, but there is one thing that we haven’t tasted just yet and that’s the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Money in the Bank is the fast track to that.” Dean chimes in, saying that together, the Shield has been unstoppable together. “At Money in the Bank, the rest of your boys in here, are gonna be victims again. Then, when we’re done taking you all out, Seth and I will get down to business.” Alberto Del Rio now jumps in, snatching Edge’s microphone. He says that he realizes that Edge has been avoiding him because he ended Edge’s career. “You know that after our match at WrestleMania, you had to run away from the WWE.” Edge snatches the microphone back, “If memory serves me right Alberto, I beat you at WrestleMania in my very last match. Doesn’t seem like it was you who ended anything.” Edge moves on to Cesaro, the final man to mention. He says that some people consider him a dark horse, but he admits that he has never been more impressed with the raw power of any other WWE Superstar in history. “You’re like a real Superman. It’s incredible to watch.” Cesaro thanks him but says that he shouldn’t be a dark horse. He mentions that he’s been doing this for a decade and is hungrier than everyone else. He also rounds on Del Rio for his remarks towards Edge, leading to Del Rio slapping him. That ignites a major brawl as Cesaro wallops Del Rio with a vicious uppercut. The Shield, Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton all go at it as well. The numbers games is in the faces favor, as they send the Authority packing. The Shield, showing that gang mentality, are able to overthrow Ziggler and Punk as well. Cesaro knocks Del Rio outside before closing the ladder and awaiting Rollins and Ambrose. They turn towards him, only for Cesaro to take them both out with the ladder. The crowd is on their feet as Cesaro sets the ladder up and climbs it, standing tall over everyone regrouping outside. Edge wisely escaped the carnage, and he looks on from the outside. “I don’t know about you John, but I wouldn’t consider Cesaro a dark horse after that” says Michael Cole. THE BROTHERHOOD VS. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM; Our WWE Tag Team Champions, the Usos, are out on commentary for this bout. They get questioned about their recent singles losses to both Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam last week. The Usos admit the losses hurt, but they are the definition of a tag team and they don’t have the experience in singles action that their opponents do. Despite being more comfortable in singles competition, the number one contenders for the Tag Team Titles continue to improve each time they are out there. Here, they are able to best a game Brotherhood. The struggles of the former Tag Champs continue, when Kingston hits Trouble in Paradise on Goldust for the 1-2-3. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam defeat the Brotherhood in 5:04!When the bell rings, the Usos gets off of commentary and watch their number one contenders gain another victory. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam high five before looking out at the Champions and motioning that they are going to be the next champions. The Usos hold their titles high, but you have to assume their confidence may not be high due to recent losses.
We go backstage again to Renee Young, who is standing by with the Shield now. She asks for their feelings on their six man tag match tonight. Roman Reigns speaks because Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are still feeling the effects of the Cutting Edge brawl earlier tonight. He says that a six man tag match never has them feeling anything but confident. “We’ve revolutionized the six man tag. It’s become our signature. Tonight, we get a shot at the Authority. We always love getting those.” He promises that they will beat Sheamus, Bad News Barrett and Randy Orton tonight, he promises that a member of the Shield will win Money in the Bank and he promises that he will win the Intercontinental Title. “Believe that.”
Staying backstage, Cody Rhodes and Goldust are now shown and they are very disappointed. Goldust speaks first, apologizing to Cody for their recent struggles. Cody is understanding, saying “It’s not your fault. I don’t even think it’s my fault. We’ve just been struggling and it’s frustrating.” Cody seems to have an idea, suggesting that they try some singles work for a bit. “I’m not at all saying we should split as a team. On the contrary, teaming with you has been a highlight of my career. But maybe I should take another singles shot and see if it changes things.” Goldust seems unsure but tells Cody that he respects his decision and he will be out there to support him during his matches. The two embrace before we go back to the arena. BO DALLAS VS. CHRISTIAN; One week ago on Raw, Christian suffered another in a string of losses, only for Bo Dallas to come out and tell him that he wouldn’t lose if he just Bolieved. They had another altercation on Smackdown, leading to this battle. It is the toughest that Bo Dallas has faced since being called up to the main roster. Christian uses his veteran savvy to gain an advantage. Dallas retaliates with the Bo and Arrow submission, shouting for Christian to not give up. Christian doesn’t, and reaches the ropes. Dallas grows frustrated at this, leading to a mistake that allows Christian to put him down with the Killswitch. Christian defeats Bo Dallas in 5:41!Christian celebrates his victory over the “inspirational” Bo Dallas. JBL is fuming on commentary as he witnesses Bo’s first loss. Bo gets to his feet and realizes that he just lost. He begins to plead with the referee before looking at Christian celebrating. The usually joyful Bo seems to begin to crack. His smile slips in and out before he attacks Christian from behind. He pounds away on him before dragging him to the corner and wrapping his leg around the ring post multiple times. The referee tries to get him to stop, but Bo is like a man possessed. He finally lets up, but the damage has clearly been done. “Bo Dallas’ first loss may have just taken him to his breaking point” says Jerry Lawler.
A special promo video airs about the work the WWE does with the Special Olympics. Some Special Olympians are even in attendance and get some camera time. BAD NEWS BARRETT, RANDY ORTON AND SHEAMUS VS. THE SHIELD; Knowing how great the Shield has been in six man tag matches since their debut, the Authority do their best to keep them off balance. Randy Orton and Sheamus have a lot of experience against the Shield in this environment, even facing them at WrestleMania 29. Early on, the Shield holds serve, but as time goes on, Seth Rollins ends up in a bad way. He desperately needs to make a tag but is unable to, as the Authority cut the ring in half. When they use underhanded tactics, Dean Ambrose runs around the ring and pulls Randy Orton off the apron. They brawl as Seth makes the tag to Roman Reigns. Sheamus tags out, bringing in Bad News Barrett. Reigns is on fire, hitting everything that moves. He even manages to get Sheamus with the apron dropkick. He rolls inside and levels Barrett with the Superman punch and a Spear to win. The Shield defeats Bad News Barrett, Randy Orton and Sheamus in 16:08!As soon as the bell rings, Dean Ambrose gives Randy Orton one more right hand and goes back inside the ring. Seth Rollins limps over and stands next to Dean and Roman Reigns, while the Authority members regroup outside. Sheamus snatches his Intercontinental Title before clutching it to his chest, while Orton helps hold Bad News Barrett up straight. “With just thirteen nights until Money in the Bank, the Shield again look like the most dominant faction in WWE history. Will Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins win Money in the Bank? Will Roman Reigns capture the Intercontinental Championship?” asks Michael Cole. The Shield putting their fists together is the final image of the show tonight.

WWE Main Event: June 17th, 2014 – Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio
The first thing we see on Main Event tonight is the weekly opening video. We don’t get any pyro though, as Christian comes out while commentary introduces things. As he walks to the ring, we are reminded that he defeated Bo Dallas last night, only to be viciously attacked by Bo after the bell. Christian addresses that once he enters the ring, saying that he is far from finished with Dallas. “I will never Bolieve, but I do believe that he is nothing more than a sore loser. However, I’m not out here for Bo tonight. I want you show you all something.” He directs us to the titantron, where footage airs of the Cutting Edge last night on Raw. Alberto Del Rio is shown disrespecting Edge and taking credit for ending Edge’s illustrious career. Back to the ring, Christian claims that what Del Rio said rubbed him the wrong way. “Edge is my best friend in the entire world and I stand up for my friends.” Before he can go any further, Alberto Del Rio’s theme hits as the “Mexican Aristocrat” steps out onto the stage and into the ring. He says that he doesn’t care what Christian thinks about his comments. “Your feelings on this don’t matter because you don’t matter. You lost your United States Title and you lost your Money in the Bank Qualifying match. Why should anything you say affect someone like me?” Christian mentions that it was Del Rio who he defeated to win his first World Heavyweight Title. Del Rio snaps back that Christian lost the title less than a week later. ”That’s what really bothers you isn’t it? It’s not that I said something about your friend…it’s that I said something about the guy that carried you to any success. You could never be like Edge and I ended his career, so what could you possibly do to me?” Christian takes this as a challenge, leveling Del Rio with a right hand! He reels off a few more, sending Del Rio staggering back to the ropes and steps back for a big clothesline that sends him over and out. Del Rio is fuming as he holds the side of his face, but he doesn’t get back in the ring. He does say that Christian will get what’s coming to him into the camera before storming off.
An ad airs to promote fatherhood with Father’s Day right around the corner. This one focuses on Roman Reigns and his daughter. Returning to the ring, Lana and Alexander Rusev are standing in the middle. Lana has a microphone, saying that they heard the words of Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter this past Friday on Smackdown. “Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter will get what’s coming to them for disrespecting the Super Athlete and Mother Russia. He can say that it’s not about the Alexander Rusev Open Invitational, but tonight, that’s exactly what it’s about.” She demands tonight’s challenger, and the crowd pops when Mark Henry answers the challenge. “This is easily the biggest man to take the challenge so far” shouts Tom Phillips.THE ALEXANDER RUSEV OPEN INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. MARK HENRY; There is a buzz in the crowd as they can sense that Mark Henry may win the $5000 reward. Even Lana looks worried, which is incredibly rare. Mark Henry overpowers Alexander Rusev quickly, overwhelming the “Bulgarian Brute.” He’s in control for the first few minutes, until a big savant kick from Rusev stops him in his tracks. Rusev goes for the Accolade, but Henry knocks him off as the clock nears the four minute mark. He hoists Rusev up for the World’s Strongest Slam, but Rusev elbows out. He takes down Henry and locks in the Accolade. He rears back hard, trying to make sure Henry doesn’t survive the five minutes. Henry tries to resist, but has to tap out. Alexander Rusev defeats Mark Henry in 4:36!Boos rain down as the fans look up at the titantron and see that the clock did not reach five minutes. Alexander Rusev and Lana celebrate another successful Open Invitational, but one has to admit that these things are seemingly getting tighter with every outing. Rusev still celebrates though having Jack Swagger on his mind may be causing him to slip a bit.
The Director of Operations is shown in the Authority’s office when Alberto Del Rio enters the room. He says that he wants to know what Christian’s punishment is for his attack earlier. Kane gives a slight smirk and says that there was no “assault”. “However, you can settle this the way that all Superstars do. You can have a match against Christian this Friday night on Smackdown.” Del Rio is taken aback, as this was not what he wanted, but he realizes there is nothing he can do about it.
An ad airs for the WWE Shop, set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. Various Superstars, fans and Divas are shown wearing authentic WWE Shop gear. NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH: EMMA W/ SANTINO MARELLA VS. NATALYA; In another attempt by Stephanie McMahon to throw as many roadblocks into Paige’s path as Women’s Champion. After a successful title defense last night against Naomi, she now watches backstage as these two do battle for the next shot. To the fans that don’t see NXT, Emma showing off her submission skills comes as a surprise. However, both she and Natalya are well versed in that art. Natalya also shows power with her big time clothesline and signals for the Sharpshooter. Emma is able to pull her into a small package for the 1-2-3. Emma defeats Natalya in 5:20!Emma gets to her feet and is kind of surprised at the win. Santino Marella joins her and does his signature trumpet dance, but Emma is more focused on Natalya. The veteran Diva is sitting in the ring, looking disappointed in herself. She stands and congratulates Emma on the win though, showing true sportsmanship. Once she leaves, Emma leaps into Santino’s arms for a big celebratory hug. “This Friday night on Smackdown, Emma and Paige reignite their rivalry from NXT, only this time, it’ll be for the WWE Women’s Championship!” exclaims Byron Saxton.
Returning, a recap airs of the Cutting Edge segment from Raw last night. Edge interviewed the eight participants in the upcoming Money in the Bank Ladder match. Tensions ran high between CM Punk, Bad News Barrett, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro, leading to a brawl. Cesaro, considered a dark horse by many, was able to stand tall over everyone.
We cut to Renee Young, who is standing by with Big E. She asks him about Batista’s attack on him last night and their upcoming match at Money in the Bank. Big E states that he was not okay with the attack but he is more than excited for the match. “I said that I wanted some of the Authority and I’m getting their Animal. I have no problem being locked in a ring with an animal. Like tonight, when I’ll be in the ring with Luke Harper.” Big E says that people like Harper and Batista are exactly the kind of guys he wants to step into the ring with on a nightly basis. BIG E VS. LUKE HARPER W/ ERICK ROWAN; In an interesting first time ever match, two of the more powerful men in all of the WWE do battle. Big E opens things with some impressive shows of strength, surprisingly tossing Luke Harper around. Of course, the Wyatt Family member is able to turn things around with a big slam. He goes for his big discus lariat, but Big E ducks and takes him down with a body block. He covers but only gets two. The straps come down, but Erick Rowan gets on the apron. Big E goes to strike, but he hops off quickly. When Big E turns towards Harper, he is met with a big boot for two. Harper winds up for the lariat again, but Big E is again able to duck and nail the Big Ending. He pins and is able to earn the score the win. Big E defeats Luke Harper in 9:01!The fans cheer as Big E gets his hand raised by the referee. He pounds on his chest as Luke Harper rolls out of the ring with Erick Rowan. Big E looks absolutely ready to face Batista in less than two weeks at Money in the Bank.

WWE NXT: June 19th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Following the signature WWE intro, a video recap airs showing highlights of the NXT Championship match between Adrian Neville and Rob Van Dam last week on NXT. After Neville was able to retain his title, Rob Van Dam raised his arm in a show of respect. Now Neville moves on to potential new challengers. ALEXA BLISS VS. SUMMER RAE W/ THE BFFS; We open tonight with some NXT Divas action. Last week, Alexa Bliss teamed with Bayley and Emma to defeat the BFFs but tonight faces the creator of the group, Summer Rae. Sasha Banks and Charlotte still do not look very pleased with Summer returning. Summer shows that she is still the “Queen of NXT” with some cocky and aggressive tactics. The upstart Alexa Bliss counters with some fast paced offense that gets the crowd going. She climbs to the second rope and the high risk move doesn’t pay off as Summer dodges and she crashes. She hits the Summer Crush, scoring the pinfall. Summer Rae defeats Alexa Bliss in 3:31!Summer Rae celebrates her victory by kind of rubbing it in the face of her fellow BFFs. She says something along the lines of “that’s how you do it” in their direction. Sasha Banks gets pissed and shoves her, while Charlotte gets in between them. She tells them both to stop before reminding Summer that she knows how to “do it”, evidenced by her NXT Women’s Championship. Summer gets in her face but they don’t come to blows, though things are certainly rocky between the three women.
In the back, we see Tyson Kidd and Natalya. Like last week, she tells him that she tried to get him some sort of Number One Contender’s match or a title shot again, but again was denied. Kidd is frustrated, asking what he has to do around here to get his just due. “I guess I can’t keep sending you to do a man’s job.” Natalya tries to argue back but Tyson continues to just talk over her and make feel small. He says that he will get exactly what he’s earned and he’s going to do it the first chance he can.
An ad airs to promote Batista’s new DVD. See some of Batista’s time in Hollywood as well as his long awaited return to the WWE. Cutting to a dark scene backstage, we see the Ascension. Konnor speaks to the camera in a deep voice, claiming that at TakeOver, they once again proved how much of a dominant force they are. Viktor talks too, stating “Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady ended up just like Too Cool and every other tag team to pass through NXT. None of them can and none of them will overthrow the Ascension. We will continue to rise and no team can stop us.” COREY GRAVES VS. SIN CARA; Of all of the NXT Superstars staking their claim for a shot at the NXT Championship, Corey Graves may have the best case. Fresh off of a win against Sami Zayn at TakeOver, Graves looks to continue his hot streak against Sin Cara. Cara, with some main roster experience, is no slouch. He takes down Graves with some of his signature springboard moves. Graves wisely targets the leg, taking away that offense and setting up for Lucky 13. He attempts it but Cara scurries to the ropes. Graves knows that he has him where he wants him, hitting a knee breaker and finally officially applying the hold. Sin Cara tries to hold out but he ultimately submits. Corey Graves defeats Sin Cara in 3:58!A mixed reaction is heard from the fans at Full Sail University. Corey Graves stands up, looks at the camera and puts his fists up. You can read the trademark STAY DOWN on his knuckles as Corey has once again picked up a victory in his quest to earn a shot at the NXT Title.
Like we saw the week after TakeOver, Tyler Breeze cuts a promo from the back on his cellphone. “At TakeOver, you all got a glimpse of it. Last week, I showed each and every one of you just how good I am. Corey Graves, Tyson Kidd, Rob Van Dam, Brodus Clay and all of the other uggos in NXT need to take a step back and understand that the reigning King of Cuteville is the rightful number one contender to the NXT Title.” He says that when he gets his shot, he will end Adrian Neville’s run as Champion and he will do it all by looking gorgeous. An ad is shown to promote the WWE Shop, set to the tune of “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. Various Superstars, Divas and fans wear authentic WWE gear.
An advertisement is shown to promote the upcoming Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View. We see clips of previous Money in the Bank matches, as well as some hype for the Daniel Bryan/Bray Wyatt WWE World Heavyweight Title match. OLIVERY GREY AND MOJO RAWLEY VS. THE VAUDEVILLAINS; The Vaudevillains consist of Aiden English and Simon Gotch, who debuted last week. They come out with the camera in black and white, and the crowd seems to enjoy their act, thought their name suggests they are more interested in being villains. Their opponents are two guys that have had success in NXT, but have been struggling as of late. They look to right the ship, but something about the chemistry between Gotch and English is too much. They work like a well-oiled machine, showing off some double team moves. After Gotch hits a slam, English comes off the middle rope with a swanton bomb and covers Grey for the win. The Vaudevillains defeat Oliver Grey and Mojo Rawley in 3:02!Another mixed reaction comes in from the crowd as the Vaudevillains take home their first win. They pose in the middle of the ring, both flexing their manly muscles. William Regal gushes over them on commentary, stating that his man crush on Aiden English has now developed into a bit of a man crush on Simon Gotch too.
Devin Taylor is standing by with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. She asks for their thoughts on what the Ascension said earlier tonight. Cass says that the Ascension have a right to say what they said because they did beat them at TakeOver. “But that don’t mean we like it. You give ‘Zo and I another shot and I guarantee you’re looking at the new NXT Tag Team Champions.” Enzo chimes in, saying that he’s been pissed off since TakeOver. In classic Enzo fashion, he tells the Ascension that they can “kick rocks in flip flops” because they are coming for the belts again.
The fatherhood ad for Roman Reigns airs. We see him playing “I’m a little teapot” with his daughter at home. Back to Devin Taylor, who is now standing by with a very excited Bayley. Devin says that Bayley requested this interview time and gives her the floor. Bayley says that she wanted to tell everyone that she just got back from General Manager JBL’s office. “He decided that, because I won in the six Divas tag match last week, that I should get an NXT Women’s Title match!” Bayley seemed like she was having a tough time keeping that in. She says that next week, she gets a shot at Charlotte! ADAM ROSE VS. CURT HAWKINS; Unlike most weeks, Adam Rose is unable to fully party with his Exotic Express due to him limping. The Stretch Muffler that he took a few weeks ago from a debuting Solomon Crowe really did a number on him. Curt Hawkins went out of his way a few weeks ago to say that he was going to make an impact in NXT and he gets his chance here. Rose, despite the busted leg, still comes out firing. He hammers away on Hawkins, who is able to change the momentum with a big DDT in a bit of an ode to his former mentor, Edge. Rose comes back with a big running lariat and looks to be in control when the lights in the arena begin to flicker. The tron scrambles before the lights go completely out. When they come back on, Hawkins is up and he drops Rose with a facebuster. He climbs to the top and hits the Heat Seeking Elbow for the victory. Curt Hawkins defeats Adam Rose in 8:17!As Curt Hawkins celebrates the win, it is clear that Solomon Crowe and his hacking ways were behind this. “Adam Rose was on the road to a potential win here if it wasn’t for Crowe” says Tom Phillips. Alex Riley seems to disagree, saying that we have no proof that it was Crowe.
A commercial runs to plug the reunion episode of Legends House. All of the legends return for a sit down conducted by Jerry “The King” Lawler. The crowd in Full Sail University comes unglued for the arrival of Sami Zayn. It’s his first appearance since losing a hotly contested Falls Count Anywhere match against Corey Graves at NXT TakeOver. He is also happy to see the crowd, but gets a bit more serious when he talks in the ring. He starts by thanking them for their support, but admits that 2014 has been a rough year. “You know, when I debuted here last year and defeated Cesaro on my first night, I felt like I was onto something. I wanted and still want nothing more than to be the NXT Champion. But I lost to Adrian Neville in a number one contender’s match, I lost to Cesaro at ArRival earlier this year and then I lost to Corey Graves at TakeOver. So I got to thinking, maybe the NXT Title just isn’t in the cards for me.” The fans chant “No!” at him, while he looks around at them. He adds “yet” to what he said and says that he has taken the past few weeks to do some thinking. “Before I got to NXT, I found a fair amount of success around the world and I did most of that as part of a tag team.” He says that he is going to shift his focus to the NXT Tag Team Titles for a while and see how that goes. Suddenly, the theme of the Ascension hits as Konnor and Viktor appear in the entrance. They head down to the ring and surround Sami Zayn. He realizes that this isn’t going to go well but is also stuck in a tough spot. The Ascension pounce and Sami tries to fight them off but the Tag Team Champions are just too much. They pound away on Zayn and finish him off with the Fall of Man. They stand over Zayn and raise the Tag Team Titles in the air, showing that they are taking out all threats to their belts.

Friday Night Smackdown: June 20th, 2014 – Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio
Tonight, things kick off with a video package recapping the fight between Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan this past Monday. While the match itself ended via disqualification, Bryan was able to fight off the Wyatt Family. Tonight, he faces Rowan in a rematch with the rest of the Wyatt Family barred from ringside.
The theme of Batista hits as the “Animal” steps out onto the stage to a chorus of boos. He seems to enjoy the negative response from the WWE Universe, smiling on his way to the ring. He enters and gets a microphone, first discussing his actions this past Monday. He directs us to the Titantron where footage airs of his attack on Big E during an interview is shown. Batista also mentioned that he will be facing Big E at Money in the Bank. “Now I know that a lot of you people were upset with me for that but you’ve got it all wrong. You see, Big E brought this on himself. He’s the one who is so pissy about losing the Intercontinental Title that he’s targeted the Authority. What we have here is a classic case of someone biting off more than they can chew. He wrote a check with his mouth that his ass can’t cash. You come after the Authority and that involves me, and I’m not someone you want on your bad side. So this is what’s going to happen at Money in the Bank; I’m going to kick Big E’s ass and then I’m going to show him that you don’t mess with the Authority. He just needs to deal with it.” Batista goes to exit, but Big E’s music hits as the crowd gets to their feet. Big E is not in a talking mood though, as he makes a beeline for the ring. Batista quickly exits to avoid any confrontation tonight. Kane’s pyro explodes as the Director of Operations walks out onto the stage. He shouts for Big E to stop because he is not going to allow their Money in the Bank match to be jeopardized. Big E picks up Batista’s microphone, saying that after what happened on Raw, he demands some action and challenges Kane. At first, Kane declines, but eventually accepts when Big E questions what happened to the once feared “Demon.” BIG E VS. KANE; Considering how angry Kane was at the comments Big E made towards him and how amped Big E was for a fight, it’s no surprise to see how intense this begins. Both men just wail away on each other, with neither guy showing any sort of quit. Kane uses a big boot to take some control until the former Intercontinental Champion starts a rally. He reels off the E-Train for a near fall before pulling the straps down. He tries the Big Ending, but Kane flips over into Tombstone position. Big E is able to wriggle free from that and polish off Kane with the Big Ending. Big E defeats Kane in 5:55!Big E celebrates the victory by leaping to his feet and beating his chest. The WWE Universe cheers this on as Big E looks absolutely ready to go to war with Batista in less than two weeks at Money in the Bank. “The Authority better watch out because Big E is coming for them” says Michael Cole.
Returning, a recap is shown from this past Monday night where Christian defeated Bo Dallas before Bo snapped and attacked him. We also see Alberto Del Rio disrespect Edge during the Cutting Edge only for Christian to come to his friend’s defense during Main Event this past Tuesday, leading to this bout. ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. CHRISTIAN; It was back in 2011 that these two waged war over the World Heavyweight Title, leading to Christian’s first reign with that belt. As pissed off as Christian is at Alberto Del Rio for what he said to Edge, he doesn’t start aggressively, knowing to pick his spots with Del Rio. Del Rio does get a hold of him, targeting the arm. Christian is able to slip free and bust out some of his signature offense, even scoring a near fall with a frog splash. He begins to clap, seemingly ready for the Killswitch but he stops when he hears a voice. Finding the source, Bo Dallas is in the crowd with a microphone giving motivational speeches to random fans, telling them to Bolieve. The distraction allows Del Rio to hit a vicious enziguri before pinning Christian to win. Alberto Del Rio defeats Christian in 7:12!Alberto Del Rio gets to his feet and points up at the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above the win. He exits as Bo Dallas walks down the steps in the audience. He makes it up to the guardrail before speaking to Christian, who is just getting up. Bo tells him that he’s back to his losing ways. “Yes, you beat me on Raw, but that was because you Bolieved harder than you ever have. And that’s good for you kiddo. But tonight, you were back to your usual self.” Bo apologizes for his actions after the match on Raw, but requests a rematch at a future time. “I truly hope that you Bolieve again next time, because I will.” WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. EMMA W/ SANTINO MARELLA; Three nights ago, Emma defeated Natalya on Main Event to earn this title shot. These two had some classics in NXT, including a Women’s Title match at ArRival earlier this year. Ultimately, this isn’t on the level of those bouts due to time restraints, but it’s still a solid effort. Emma gets to hit the Emmamite sandwich and the DilEMMA but Paige comes back with some headbutts. She uses a single leg dropkick to knock Emma down and get her set for the PTO. She locks it in and Emma tries to hold on, but has to submit. Paige defeats Emma in 4:02 to retain the WWE Women’s Championship!Paige exits the ring and grabs her Women’s Championship from ringside. Even though she defeated someone that she considers a friend tonight, it’s clear that the “Anti-Diva” is all business. While Santino Marella checks on Emma, Michael Cole brings us breaking news. “This Monday night on Raw, Stephanie McMahon has promised to name Paige’s next challenger for the Women’s Championship in a match that will take place at Money in the Bank!”
As we return from commercial, Randy Orton is standing in the middle of the ring. He has a microphone but keeps things short and sweet. “People seem to be forgetting that I was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion earlier this year and that I won Money in the Bank last year. They seem to want to write me off as if I have no chance in the upcoming Money in the Bank match. I’m out here to prove all of you wrong. I’m issuing an open challenge to any of the Money in the Bank participants.” He awaits an opponent and the crowd pops as they hear sirens, signaling that Cesaro is answering the challenge. CESARO VS. RANDY ORTON; This past February, Cesaro actually defeated Randy Orton on an episode of Smackdown while Orton was WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Cesaro attempts some flash pins, trying to score another win over Orton. After a few near falls, Cesaro uses a hand gesture to show how close he was to winning. This angers Orton, who reels off some of his usual moves, overwhelming Cesaro before giving him the “this close’ signal. Cesaro turns the tide with a popup uppercut but can only score another near fall. He cranks his neck to set up the Neutralizer, but Randy is able to trip up Cesaro and roll him up for two. Both men get up at the same time, only for the “Viper” to strike with an RKO out of nowhere. The referee gets down and counts the 1-2-3. Randy Orton defeats Cesaro in 10:11!The disappointed WWE Universe in Columbus, Ohio boo the victory by Randy Orton, though you would have to admit that it was an impressive showing. He raises his arms in the air and looks out into the stands, mouthing “I told you so”. It’s clear that Randy Orton has to be considered a favorite once again for Money in the Bank. Could he do the unthinkable and make it two in a row?
Returning, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter are in the ring. Zeb has a microphone and begins to talk about Alexander Rusev once again. “On Main Event a few days ago, we had to sit through yet another Alexander Rusev Open Invitational. Mark Henry put up one hell of a fight but was unable to survive the five minutes with Rusev. Well, I just got word that at Money in the Bank, my Real American Jack Swagger will step into the ring with Rusev.” That gets a pop from the fans, before Zeb reminds everyone that this won’t be an Invitational Challenge as it’s more about America than Rusev’s $5000. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA VS. JACK SWAGGER W/ ZEB COLTER; It was just over a year ago when Fandango shocked the world and beat Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29. Things have gown downhill for him since then, but he looks to right the ship here. Unfortunately for him, Jack Swagger is like a man possessed. He obviously means business heading into his upcoming clash with Alexander Rusev and shows Fandango no mercy. He makes him tap out to the Patriot Lock in pretty short order. Jack Swagger defeats Fandango in 2:19!Zeb Colter enters the ring, looking impressed and a bit surprised by the aggression shown by Jack Swagger tonight. He raises his client’s arm and points to him before they put their hands over their hearts and belt out a hearty “WE THE PEOPLE” that the crowd says with them.
We go backstage and see Cody Rhodes and Goldust. Goldust tells Cody that while he supports his decision to try a solo run for a bit, he’d like him to reconsider. Cody cracks a smile and responds by saying that he feels like this is something he has to do. “Look, it’s not the end of our team at all. I still want to be Tag Team Champions with you again, but I think some singles matches will help me regain my mojo. I promise you, we will be teaming again.” Goldust seems a bit more confident in this as we go back to the arena.
The top contenders to the WWE Tag Team Titles, Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston, make their way out to the ring to do some guest commentary for the upcoming match. NON-TITLE MATCH: THE USOS VS. 3MB W/ DREW MCINTYRE; The tandem of Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal look to take down the WWE Tag Team Champions. Early on, it seems like the Usos may be overlooking 3MB, as they fall victim to a few near falls. Rob Van Dam is sure to mention on commentary they the Usos can’t overlook them at Money in the Bank because they just need one opening to win the straps. The Usos quickly fix themselves and score the win with a splash from Jey Uso. The Usos defeat 3MB in 2:08!The Tag Team Titles get handed their rightful owners as Jimmy helps Jey to his feet. They look outside at their top challengers, remember that they’ve lost to them in singles competition recently. “One has to imagine that the Usos are not pleased with the fact that Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston have all of the momentum heading into their big match” explains John “Bradshaw” Layfield.
The same vignette from Raw airs, focusing on a party bus. We see the host of the party and he introduces himself as Adam Rose. He says that the party is coming to the WWE very soon, because “it’s party time, all the time!” He continues to party as his name appears on the screen. NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. ERICK ROWAN; This past Monday on Raw, Erick Rowan and Daniel Bryan did battle, only for it to end via disqualification when Luke Harper got involved. Tonight, there will be none of that with the Wyatt Family barred from ringside. Rowan again uses his brute strength to wallop the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the early stages. Of course, Bryan makes a living by being a resilient Superstar and he executes a beautiful missile dropkick to take Rowan down. He fires off some kicks to the skull before backing away into the corner and striking with the Busaiku Knee! That’s enough to earn him the win over a second Wyatt Family member. Daniel Bryan defeats Erick Rowan in 9:22!Wisely, Daniel Bryan doesn’t spend too much time enjoying the victory, knowing that the Wyatt Family is usually lurking. It proves to be a wise move as the Wyatt signature strikes. When the lights come on, Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt are in the ring, but Bryan has managed to make it up the ramp and outsmart them tonight. Harper doesn’t look please but Bray has a smile on his face as Bryan starts to “Yes” with the WWE Universe as Smackdown comes to a close.

6/21/14 Edition
- John Cena has been off of WWE programming since losing to Bray Wyatt at Payback. This is the first example of a new strategy the WWE is testing out. With so many hours of weekly television, creative understands that a lot of performers may become over saturated. In an effort to fix this, a lot of guys will be given a month or two off at a time. Expect Cena back in time for a big money match at SummerSlam.
- Current plans call for Brock Lesnar to return sometime in July. A lot of people expected him to return sooner after ending the Undertaker's streak, but the idea is that when he does return, it will lead to a major match. He is line to work more dates at the tail end of 2014, and should also return in time for SummerSlam.
- There is talk of Chris Jericho making a return to the company for a program either in the summer or the fall. Nothing is set in stone yet, but Jericho admitted that he was displeased with how his last run went. He put effort into getting Fandango over and losing to him at WrestleMania 29, only for Fandango's push to get halted. Jericho reportedly will only come back if he gets some kind of control over who he works with. Rumors are swirling that he would want to work with Bray Wyatt, Bad News Barrett, Alexander Rusev or members of the Shield.
- In some of the biggest news recently, the WWE has been in talks with some of the biggest names on the independent wrestling scene. First, they have been talking to Japanese legend KENTA about a deal. There is speculation that if he signs, he will officially sign the deal at the upcoming live event in Tokyo in July. There have also been talks with Kevin Steen, the real life best friend of Sami Zayn. Rumors are also circling Prince Devitt and Adam Cole. None have officially signed just yet, but if they do, they are expected to go through NXT since Triple H is handling these negotiations.
