FT: USA 0-2 Colombia
Rough start for the hosts. If it's any comfort, they've at least got the most difficult opponent on paper out of the way first, though it's not like Costa Rica and Paraguay are a big drop-off in quality.

Literally nobody played well. Colombia looked like they never even get out of second gear. World class players versus a team with 4 plus players out of position and a midfield with an average age of 107.
Here's hoping James Rodriguez isn't hurt that badly. He's one of my favorite players playing in this tournament.

Michael Bradley was especially poor last night. He was the worst player out there not named Jermaine Jones. He's supposed to be our captain. About 50 minutes into the game, I just started wincing everytime he attempted a pass because I know it could have go anywhere.

Utter guff from Scotland tonight as they lose 3-0 to France. Don't get me wrong the French are a good team but we were making them look incredible in that game today.
18 years since Scotland last appeared in a major football tournament and with the World Cup qualifiers just around the corner and Gordon Strachan seemingly refusing to play any young guns (and slating the squad saying Scotland had a "nation of scared footballers"), I can't see that changing any time soon.
Sigh.

Sigh. How on earth does Steven Fletcher still get a game for Scotland? Six goals against Gibraltar does not a good player make! Especially when younger natural goalscorers like Leigh Griffiths and Jordan Rhodes never seem to get a chance.

Copa America matches today:
Jamaica vs Venezuela
Mexico vs Uruguay
FT: Jamaica 0-1 Venezuela
Mexico take the lead early on against Uruguay.
FT: Mexico 3-1 Uruguay
A bit of a surprise result, I think. Neither team's top stikers (Hernandez, Cavani) saw much action. Defenders Diego Godin and Rafa Marquez got the important goals. Both teams finished with 10 men.

Not exactly how you'd want to prefer for the Euro's but hey, it's just a friendly. I don't fancy them to win it but Spain will still do well in this tournament and be a threat, a home friendly loss to Georgia means nothing.

I pray the USMNT wins tonight because we're making an absolute show of ourselves as the hosts of this tournament.
Twice they've f***** up a country's national anthem in two nights. First, they play the wrong anthem for Uruguay. Then, the last part of Chile's anthem was cut off for a Pitbull song.
Not the first time we've made asses out of ourselves this year in front of the entire world...

Comfortable win for the United States.

Colombia 2-1 Paraguay.
Colombia is the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals.
And for the international tournament no one is talking about...
The semi-finals of the 2016 OFC Nations Cup kick off in about 90 minutes. The matches:
Papua New Guinea vs Solomon Islands New Zealand vs New Caledonia
