That's what I don't get: ESPN's decision to even greenlight the show. Even if the PMT guys are pretty far apart from what the rest of Barstool does, they still work for a complete scumbag like David Portnoy and were representing his company on ESPN. The show even had "Barstool" in its name. It'd be one thing if the show was an independent venture and had no Barstool branding even though it was identical to what the PMT guys did on Barstool. But it wasn't.

I've never been a fan of Barstool Sports. In the past, I've referred to them as "The sports equivalent of 'Manswers'" and what would happen "if Axe body spray had a blog." They are also responsible for reinforcing some of the more awful Boston sports fan stereotypes, which annoys me personally as a Boston sports fan whose first instinctive reaction isn't to say "F*** YOU" and throw a drink in the face of anybody who brings up the deflated football fiasco.
But ESPN looks like a bunch of idiots in this one. You got into bed with Barstool Sports and then you want to walk it back? It's Barstool Sports, for crying out loud, all it takes is a cursory amount of research online to find out what they've been about. No matter what decision ESPN made, they'd come out of it looking like fools. Either the show continues on and more people rage online about whatever it is they're raging against or they cancel the show and you get the fanatic Barstool fans - of which there are many - to make a stink about it.
EDIT - And in non-Barstool news, Katie Nolan made her ESPN debut last week, moving from the relative anonymity of "Garbage Time" on FS1 to the only-slightly-less-relative anonymity of "Highly Questionable."

There's also a bit of a scandal breaking in terms of Jenn Sterger's sexual harassment claims against ESPN in the wake of them renouncing Barstool

So according to the PMT guys, the original name of the show wasn't going to be "Barstool Van Talk" but "Pardon My Take." Then everyone's favorite middle-aged fratboy douchebag insisted that there be some sort of Barstool branding in the show's name. And it went to hell from there. Didn't help that Portnoy only fanned the flames on Twitter.
ESPN was still in a really stupid position here because Barstool's reputation speaks for itself. But pretty much everyone was in the wrong here, though I think the PMT guys got a raw deal and were stuck in the middle between ESPN needing to play damage control with its personalities and Portnoy being Portnoy.

PFT not so subtly throwing Portnoy under the bus (rightfully so) tells me that the PMT guys might be more open to ditching Barstool than they have been in the past.

He's a good personality to have and could help a lot of the people in regards to backstage work. I think his commentating skills would be much greater now after all his years of hosting at ESPN but I wouldn't put him behind the booth again I'm pretty sure he has a spot at WWE if he wants it

I'm guessing most of the layoffs will be midday SportsCenter-related.
I was kinda hoping Will Cain was one of them as it seems like the only purpose he has is to be antagonistic to Stephen A Smith on First Take and is generally obnoxious, but they're putting him in a new radio show with Ryen Russillo.

Why? Will Cain is literally there to take the most ridiculous side with his BS i'm just saying logic I understand you are trying to carve out something for yourself on TV and it seemed to work but anytime I see his face I change the channel because you know he's 85% on the side no one else is on I give it two months before Ryen screams him out on radio. Should have kept Danny

I think Will Cain tries too hard to be a more cosmopolitan Skip Bayless. I actually like the dynamic between Stephen A. and Max when it's just the two of them without any third wheel panelists. They argue and hot take up the wazoo, but unlike Skip and Will, at least Max does it from a place of sincerity and I've never gotten the impression that he was taking up ridiculous positions for controversy's sake.

Will Cain looks like a guy who would have several Ponzi schemes going at the same time.

Yea, as I said he's trying to find that role for himself but he's trying way too hard and no one really cares because he gets screamed down by everyone. Stephen A and Max have really good chemistry and even if one takes a side that's completely wrong from your point of view, you know they believe what they are saying and not just trying to draw a reaction Will is trying to somewhat draw a line so he doesn't get backlash like Skip and Colin but on the same token I just don't care because he comes across as very low rent

Will is trying to be ESPN’s Clay Travis. It doesn’t work because imitating garbage just gets you...worse garbage lol

She already has her own show with Israel Guttierez. She's just getting a new co-host and maybe a new timeslot? Wonder if that means Izzy's going to be one of the layoffs?

I mean I hardly ever see him on TV anymore (or i'm not paying attention enough) and his roles seems to be dwindled down. ATH has new faces, Woj is the go to for everything basketball insider and he doesn't even really appear at the games so where does he fit
