Man, all because they wanted F1 so bad... Don't get me started of the whole F1 debacle. So far they seem to not hire the commentators that many of us US F1 fans grew to love or associate with the sport, but are just going to show the bare bones international feed of the race. Also live qualifying is nixed which on some weekends could be more entertaining than the main race itself. Not to mention they fired Jerry Punch which would have been a good addition to cover F1. And outside of Monaco & Austin, they won't give a crap about Formula 1. Its insane how many people have to suffer for managerial incompetence.

Don't know where to put this, Disney is close to a deal to purchase much of 21st century Fox including Fox Sports Networks (Not FS1 though) and the FSNs could be rebranded if it's indeed the case.
The following would happen along with the FSN's being rebranded (Fox Sports Ohio becoming ESPN Ohio for example) Local versions of Sportscenter may be possible We could also be seeing local RSN versions of Around the Horn, Parden the interruption and Heaven forbid: FIRST TAKE!

I'd rather watch 24 hours straight of Stephen A than 5 minutes of a combination of Colin Cowherd, Skip Bayless, or Jason Whitlock. Or a single second of that jackoff Clay Travis.

This all the way There's nothing charming about the way Colin and Skip act as "characters" because it's turn the TV off bullshit. Who wants to watch people who when proven wrong deflect every question and come up with every excuse but when they are right it's smug and condenscending to everyone. Whitlock is in that category as well because he talks highly of himself like he knows everything and it's instant get the f*** off my TV reaction for me Stephen A is a character but he knows when to dial it back and besides that when you put him next to someone like Will Cain he looks tame in comparison.

Clay Travis is one of the most obnoxious jerkoffs on Twitter as well. *post link* WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ONE, HUH @whoeverclayfeudswith *post link* WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ONE, HUH @whoeverclayfeudswith *post link* WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ONE, HUH @whoeverclayfeudswith *post link* WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ONE, HUH @whoeverclayfeudswith *post link* WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ONE, HUH @whoeverclayfeudswith "Nobody watches my show! Anyone reading up on that Matt Berry/Buccigross stuff? I'm surprised it took this long for people to write about the culture at ESPN. I read something 5-10 years ago (could have been on Deadspin) about how there's a frat boy mentality at ESPN.

President of ESPN John Skipper has resigned due to substance abuse problems.

Dan Le Batard was really emotional on his radio show today as John Skipper is a good friend of his and he was finding out live on the show. I wish I could've given him a hug.

As much as I don't really like Dan you can tell when he cares about you he will go to bat for you 100% Never like to hear about someone you consider a good friend step down because of substance issues

Ryen Rusillio leaving. He's been sort of dead in the water since SVP left and even when he found his groove with Danny they fired him too so yeah i'm not too surprised I assume the station probably soured on him to after the arrest as well so that new contract wasn't going to be pretty

Weird thing was they were giving him a new show with Will Cain. Weird that they'd do that while his contract wasn't renewed.
Maybe it's fallout from Skipper's leaving? Or not wanting to work with Cain on a daily basis?

What makes it even weirder is where can he go from here I mean if i'm mistaken Disney will own the Fox Sports so while yes he can still go there, he's still going to be under the same conglomerate

I don't think Disney will own the national Fox Sports networks like FS1, Big Ten Network, and Fox Deportes, but they will own the regional networks. That said, I don't think he'd go to FS1 because it seems like their days of overpaying for ex-ESPN luminaries are over.
He's got his options like NBC, CBS, Turner/Bleacher Report, and the Big Four sports leagues' networks. Or just doing his own thing on the internet.

I can see Rusillo doing a Bleacher Report or his own thing He's a smart guy but he's sort of an odd fit in ESPN current structure so this is the best move for him
