There was another RR series? Was Scooby and Scrappy-Doo involved this time? You really want to know? THIS lasted two seasons. Never underestimate the popularity of a show with a sex robot.

Told my brother whose over in the Middle East (as he's in the Navy) about the show. We used to watch the original Voltron a lot when we were little. He said he'll have to watch it later when he's out!

Wow, even a live action character makes the DreamWorks Face.

Season 2, anyone? Problem solved there, in theory of course... Well yeah, but I can only really judge on what we have available now Though from what I vaguely remember critics had similar response to Avatar Season 1 as well... so... Yeah, Last Airbender really picked up steam after a while, I feel like the first season had a lot of setup involved too.

I watched some of the series Sunday, but I was too tired and angry to really get into it. I plan on rewatching it later.

Watched the first two eps this weekend and really enjoyed. Definitely feel the last airbender vibes. The guy who drives the blue one seems to be the Sokka of the group, much to my delight.
Its a really fun show so far with a lot of heart. Hopefully that tone stays consistent throughout the season.
The training episode was terrific though.
The really nailed down a great dynamic with the team which makes the show way more enjoyable than I thought it'd be.

Watched the hour long first episode and as a person who liked Voltron as a kid, but doesn't remember much about the show other than the obvious...I am intrigued to keep watching.

I like how they're handling Keith so far, in the original dub he was more of a "generic leader" type (which isn't terrible in itself, it's just hard to get right) and here he's a hot headed flunk out. I also like how Shiro is making sure to take his teammates's feelings into consideration.

I really love Lance, but they've done a great job making Keith interesting too just by giving him actual flaws. Pidge and Hunk's character arcs are also amazing. Even Princess Alura got a chance to shine in sacrificing herself to keep Shiro free. Everyone gets a chance to shine in this series.

Watched the first two episodes last night and am so glad I did. Moves a little fast, but the Avatar fan in me was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I'll be binging it hard this week.

Just finished episode 3, really like that there is a threat set up in a previous episode and it is taken care of by the end of the episode while the group grows as a unit. Also like the twists and turns with stuff like Pitch's secret.

Alright, so I finished the entire series last night. I'll put my feedback in spoilers so as not to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but wants to. I will say this, if you loved the original Voltron as much as I did, you'll love this series. {Spoiler}The pilot trio episode was AMAZING. It was interesting to show that Shiro was a prisoner of Zarkon and the Galra Empire before the five team up. Put a neat twist to it that would end up being a factor later on in the season.
They nailed Lance, Hunk, and Pidge perfectly. I liked that Hunk was more of the pacifist of the team in this one. It suited him really well. That and he was super smart, like Pidge.
Keith's personality: THANK GOD! They finally gave him some sort of personality. In GoLion/Voltron, he didn't really have that much of a personality besides "Fearless Leader" mode.
I wasn't sure how I would like Shiro being the leader of the team instead of Keith, but it worked really well. I thought Shiro worked as the stoic leader, but still had that dark past when in the hands of Zarkon that haunted him throughout the series.
The training episode was fantastic. It was neat to see them put aside their differences and figure out how to work as a team.
Pidge being revealed as a girl: I had this spoiled by me early on before I saw the series, so I was sorta conflicted by it. But as it was all revealed, it was done so well that I thought, "Huh. That was pretty good." Plus it gave her a little more backstory, especially with the search for her father and brother.
I loved Princess Allura being a strict guide for the team. She basically took over Coran's position as adviser for the team. I wasn't really feeling the change of her skin color in this one, but that grew on me as well. I also liked that she wasn't the "Damsel in Distress" like in the original Voltron. It was very refreshing.
Coran was HILARIOUS. Again, wasn't sure how this would play out, but I loved it. He wasn't completely over the top, but he had so many great jokes that fit it perfectly. I love this Coran. He's my new favorite Coran.
I like that the Space Mice were played down in this one. They had their bit, but it didn't relegate them to main players on the team.
I liked the approach Zarkon and the Galra Empire had in this as well. Instead of trying to destroy Voltron (like so many series had before), they wanted to capture Voltron and harness its power to control the entire universe. Although I questioned this at the end, as they were able to split Voltron in the season finale, so I was like "Um, you just split apart Voltron, so you can defeat it. But you still want it under your rule? Okay then."
Episodes 8-10 were kinda blah. When they met up with the two rebels, my first thought was, "They're going to steal either one of the lions or all of them." And sure enough, they did. I know that Balmera was important to them, as the Castle's energy source was a Balmerian crystal, but it still was kinda blah. Still, it gave us a kickass monster who Voltron really didn't defeat. He just stopped it enough for the planet to encase it in crystal.
The last couple of episodes were DARK. I didn't expect Allura to sacrifice herself to save Shiro and let herself be captured. But it worked really well. And when Shiro battled Hagar, I seriously thought he was going to die........again.
The cliffhanger was awesome, but if the past has taught me anything, you do not end your first season with a cliffhanger. So many shows ended the season with a cliffhanger, only not to be renewed (Sonic SatAM, anybody?).
All in all, I loved this show. I will be watching it again to see if there's any other little things I missed.
10/10.
