I heard an ad on the radio for this today.
"For the first time ever in Washington, DC, WWE Battleground....." and blah blah blah blah.
The only time we should hear "For the first time ever in Washington, DC" in a wrestling ad here is if they actually f***ing give us WrestleMania one year.
Which will never happen, because DC doesn't have a good arena, because the Redskins are awfu-horri-terrible.
I'm sad now.
.........because of this PPV reminding me we'll never get WrestleMania. Not because of the Redskins. DC's terrible football team doesn't bother me, aside from them sucking being the reason we don't have an arena good enough for the flagship show to do one show in the nation's capital.

Nationals have a nice new park don't they? I'd think DC not getting a look falls more on there not being anyone there that lead the bidding process WWE has now.

Wonder what it says that the only thing keeping me from fully expecting a double pin of some sort in this match is that I wouldn't think they'd want to mar the Shield triple threat in a non-finish, and even then I would not be surprised if they do it.
Either way inclined to think after the way Raw ended that this is leading into Dean taking one belt to SmackDown while Roman has the other one on Raw with Seth chasing after him after not losing straight in the triple threat and between that and the Raw ending insisting he still hasn't actually been beaten. And man that couldn't sound like any less interesting of a feud to me.

I know the phrasing gets used so often as a joke, but it's really telling of how strong Reigns's push has been that the dude is literally expected to win a world title first match back from a drug suspension. That just sounds insane to me.

That just sounds insane to me. I'm a little torn on it, because either way I expect Roman / Seth to be the big feud coming out of this one, but can see two schools of thought to it. On one hand, if they want to do the Roman redemption story (not that it'll work, but I fully expect them to try) then Seth winning the belt here and holding it over his head makes the most sense... but rarely have things made very much sense in regards to the Roman Reigns push, I don't entirely think they're going to be able to resist the idea of "proving" he's the best member of the Shield by having him win the showdown betwen them, and in terms of where Seth's character stands right now, the way this feud's been written, and the Raw ending, the logical progression for him from here is being screwed out of the title in a fluky way again to have him become even more desperate to get back the title he still hasn't really genuinely been beaten for. Either way the only way I see Dean coming out of this as champion is if's in a gimmicky way that sees him as the B champ on SmackDown. For me it's just the question of is there some nonsense ending, does Reigns win, or does Seth win to lose it to Reigns later.

I'm guessing that doesn't have enough seats. WWE doesn't want to go anywhere that seats less than 50,000 for WM anymore, do they?

So... What exactly is the point now of the Cena, Enzo, and Cass vs. the Club match? Win or lose for Cena, he has Gallows and Anderson out of his way after the match. Win or lose for AJ, he's still backed into a corner and forced to fight his own battles because his goons are now separated from. Regardless of how it plays out Cena's already won.

so guessing either both Zack and Darren win or neither do now due to the draft. Reverse momentum theory would dictate that since Darren made Miz submit clean on Smackdown, Miz wins on Sunday and so would Rusev. Also, since Rusev and Miz were drafted on TV while their challengers were drafted rounds 9 and 8 respectively, it doesn't inspire much confidence that they can get the upset. Unrelated, but I'm curious to see who they decide to have at the announce desk.

To be fair, it's Battleground. Plus the timing of it with the draft, I think it's just trying to be an entertaining card without much continuity to it.

I'm figuring Cena's side wins to give Enzo and Cass momentum for a tag title match at Summerslam, while giving Cena a victory that gives AJ a reason to accept a challenge from Cena at Summerslam. Meanwhile, a loss on The Club side gives them all the more reason to recruit Finn into the mix.

So far this is the first PPV in a while that has nothing announced for the kickoff.

I'd expect some kind of RAW and SmackDown showcase matches on the kickoff, in a kind of "pair the spares" fashion. To hazard a guess... Neville (in his TV return match) v Sheamus and Crews v Del Rio.

I wonder if this will be like last month where they just pull a match like Lucha Dragons vs. Dudleys out of nowhere.

I thought we would get The Lucha Dragons, teaming up for the last time against Breezango, playing off their feud from a few weeks ago, for the Kick Off Match, but since Cara got in that fight with Simon Gotch, I don't see that happening.
