I'm glad Melo is gone if only for his own sake. I liked him here a lot more than others, but Phil Jackson poisoned his relationship with the team and you can tell he was miserable on the team the past couple of years. I think he'll be a lot better in OKC if only because he finally has teammates on his or past his level as opposed to being expected to carry a team by himself. I don't bear him any ill will and since I'm expecting the Knicks to suck again this season I'll be rooting for all the best for him on OKC. Agreed. I look forward to KP taking that next step in his career tho

Same. I'm looking forward to seeing KP play in a system that better suits his talents now that Triangle Man is gone.
Should be interesting to see how Hornacek is able to coach this team now that he doesn't have to worry about Jackson's backseat coaching.

I liked Hornacek and thought he got a raw deal in Phoenix when he got fired. He seems like he can be a good quality coach if you let him actually coach so the team should be centered around KP without a doubt Assuming the Knicks are a lottery team (with this East being so trash u don't know) they will need to find another player to compliment him. As of right now him and Hermangomez are a damn good pairing because of their history and the story is still out on Frank but he's 18 and a rookie so we shall see. Add in a young guard like Tim Hardaway and your core is 25 years and younger. Even if this team stacks up losses they should still be fun to watch because there is not excuse for them to not be a running team

Which is a shame because he's the superior and younger player. But he only got like 20 minutes a game last year between Hornacek seemingly not being a fan sometimes and foul trouble. And that was with a WIDE open center position. You add Kanter and maybe a healthy Noah in the mix, and I just can't project a mini-breakout for Willy like I want to.

I actually see them playing Kanter the same way they did in OKC. If anything Hermangomez will still get mins but yeah Kyle O'Quinn is f***ed which is a shame because he was the spark plus for the squad. Noah will get every chance to earn mins but in no f***ing way should he be starting on this team with two centers better than him. Coming into this season I thought they would try to play Porz a little more at Center with smaller line ups but considering the abundance of Centers on this squad that's not happening. McDermott hopefully gets his mins because I do believe he can become a mini JJ Reddick

Which they shouldn't, but ya never know. If I'm them, I just say F it and start Ntilikina at the 1 maybe 20-25 games in, start Hernangomez at the 5 from day 1, and let McDermott get 35 minutes a night and see what happens. They're gonna use Hardaway and Porzingis right and get them their minutes and the ball in their hands.

Wade getting close to an agreement with the Cavs according to Adrian Wojnarowski Not to surprising. Wade gets to play with Lebron for one more season and gets one final run for a chip. Curious how this starting line up is going to be though?

Curious how this starting line up is going to be though? To start the season it should be Rose, Smith, LBJ, Love and Thompson Their “ultimate line up” will probably be Thomas, Wade, LBJ, Love, and Thompson I think Wade should be coming off the bench but I don’t think he’s responsive to that yet at this point in his career

Wade agreed to a one-year, $2.3 million contract with the Cavs.I think Wade should be coming off the bench but I don’t think he’s responsive to that yet at this point in his career I think he'd be willing if Lebron asked him to, but that's another issue there. Realistically, I'd want Wade and Rose coming off the bench to lead the second unit, because I think as backup guards, they'd be great. I do think he'll be more productive in Cleveland versus Chicago either way.

I expect him and LBJ to be knocking on Lue door everyday about about the schemes they want to run. This is the best thing for him and Lebron as I think Wade being the second floor general will help that team

That's stupid, honestly. In the NFL, teams will sit guys week 17 because who cares? They're in the playoffs and have nothing to gain. Yeah, it sucks to buy tickets expecting to see someone and they're sitting healthy. But that's strategy. What the fans want does not trump what teams think is best for them in the big picture. If your team is great at defense, but the fans want high-scoring shootouts, should you play that style?

Fans will be more pissed when injuries start piling up because guys are playing when they're not needed.

I think it has less to do with fans being pissed as much as it does with the Networks, especially since we're just two years coming off them paying a new deal. I'm sure Silver is likely only ever going to enforce this for televised games.

Would the resting rule had even been in consideration had a certain few teams not decided to rest their whole teams on National TV games?
It seems like the league is punishing teams for giving them and the National TV broadcasts (and the fans) a big middle finger. Which I think is fine. Individual rest days don't bother me. It's a long season. Rresting your entire starting lineup on the road and on National TV? That's a calculated FU.

It's a long season. Rresting your entire starting lineup on the road and on National TV? That's a calculated FU. Everybody started to copy Pop which made it a league problem. Resting players was always a calculated move but then once you started doing that for the big TV games when the Cavs visit Memphis and there's no LBJ on the floor than the league started to take notice on this issue because it happened to often and made their TV games less of a spectacle. I've talked with friends before about how they could have probably gotten away with it more if they rested players at home but they did so on the road for big games and families who saved their money to see that player end up dissapointed In other news Dennis Schroder was arrested for Misdemeanor Battery www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20860927/atlanta-hawks-guard-dennis-schroder-arrested-misdemeanor-battery-charge

Russell Westbrook signs 5 year $205 million dollar extension with Thunder
Shit gets interesting now with PG becoming a free agent and Melo having an opt out clause

Hell yes. Westbrook just shot off my "dislike athletes" list.
Congrats OKC.
Durant can still suck eggs.
