If Whiteside decides to walk, I really hope the Heat ends up pursuing Horford. I feel like between KD, Whiteside, and even Dwight, Horford has been overshadowed this off season. He apparently does not want to play as a Center anymore, which could work for us. He could be our PF and Bosh can be moved back to Center.

Nope, he's just going to sign a max deal with Cleveland, he knows the cap is going to explode.

On Horford, that guy is for my money better than Whiteside and Dwight. Dwight has just lost himself after the Lakers debacle and how that ended. His last two years in Orlando, he averaged a combined 22 and 14.5 to now his last two years in Houston only 14.5 and 11. His blocks are down as well. I understand he's not the first option anymore, but he seems to just not have it like he used to. Possibly psychological, possibly just normal decline for a freakishly athletic big man (watch out DeAndre). But regardless, I severely doubt he'll be that much more valuable (if any) than Horford. I do dislike however Horford attempting over three 3PAs a game last year. He has a great mid-range game and is surprisingly good down low, I don't like him drifting like an Al Harrington. That's never been his game. He's not a particularly bad rebounder, why would you want him outside the arc?
As a sidenote, I'd LOVE to see Dwight go to NY. It would be the Starbury era Knicks all over again.
On James, there was a lot of speculation that he'd opt out during the season with the coaching stuff and the Love stuff, and them just not looking like a championship squad. That completely died down when they won, but I'm not so sure it should have. LeBatard said it right after he won, the guy has no problem doing what he wants to do and taking the criticism. The Decision wasn't popular AT ALL. And people thought he was crazy for going back to Cleveland. I wouldn't be shocked if he stayed or left.

Well, LeBron bought Cleveland its first championship. So he wouldn't be vilified at all if he left again and while I don't think he will leave, I do believe he would've left if they lost again.

I wouldn't guarantee anything with Lebron and yes, if he left again....Cleveland would be back to vilifying him again. It's the way sports work...most fans want more that what should be expected.

A Heat fan here... you can't be sure with LeBron until it's actually official. We have learned that the hard way.
Plus, he does this. I have a feeling each summer we'll talk about LeBron until he retires. Probably just a ploy to get more money and inflate his ego.

If you seriously think Lebron's leaving RIGHT after he won a championship and he's a god in the city, you are on that kyrptonite, lol. Dude's trying to get paid, that's all.

I'm really excited for free agency this year!
I hope Vlade Divac can unload Rudy Gay and Ben Mclemore for a good SG.
The Kings are desperate for a PG and I want to go after Jeremy Lin. He would be a great option as a stopgap starter until we can draft a PG in the next few years.

LeBron does this every year. He's only opting out because of the cap explosion from 70 to 110 million by next summer. He's not going anywhere. I'm really excited for free agency this year! If the Timberwolves are dangling Rubio, wouldn't it make sense for Sacramento to see if they would take Rudy Gay in a salary swap? Wolves could use more perimeter help.

LeBron should have retired. [/hot take]
Seriously, he's gonna sign another 2-year deal with an option at the end of it. Next summer, the cap is supposed to increase even more, so I think he will sign that $200 million+ deal then

Sam Amick reports a lot of talk around a short-term deal for Dwight Howard and the Blazers.
Zach Lowe reports the Raptors have offered a package including Terrence Ross to the Sixers for Nerlens Noel.

I know the Clippers want to sell Kevin Durant on a big four, but I think trading JJ Redick would be a bad move. He fits in with them perfectly.

With that roster they'll surely be a contender for the 2012 NBA title.

Hopefully the Spurs will win 50 games this season Given the state of that division right now, I'd be shocked if they didn't. Dallas/Houston/Memphis feel like teams that are near their expiration date.
