LeBron only has that power because the GM and Owner give it to him. He's just playing with all the toys his parents keep spoiling him with. Yea, as I referenced earlier with Miami Pat Riley was not playing that. The funny thing is I think people don't care for Lebron or Dan Gilbert throwing their power around the organization and losing David Griffin seems to be what is going to break them

He only has that power in Cleveland because he chose Cleveland. If he wanted that power in Phoenix or Sacremento or Orlando, they'd kowtow to him in a similar fashion likely. Maybe not so much now since he's got ungodly mileage, but after Miami.

I feel like the Knicks are gonna be disappointed with the return they get for Melo. But as much as I hate Melo, this is a mess Phil made way bigger than it was.

As a Knicks fan I don't expect anything of great value. Melo is pulling the same shit he did when he was leaving Denver except no one will pay the ransom Knicks did. Either way in any trade they do, they need to at least get a pick and a decent player that doesn't have an albatross of a contract since they are already stuck with Noah (So no Ryan Anderson) & I agree Phil sort of f***ed this up big time. He killed a good portion of Melo value by dogging him in public, thank god they canned him before he could do the same to Porzingis and trade him because he wanted to get rid of Noah contract

Woj reporting Melo to OKC a done deal for Dougie McBuckets, Enes Kanter, and a draft pick

Carmelo has been traded to the Thunder
Knicks get C Enes Canter, Doug Mcdermott, and a pick
That's a fair trade from my perspective with Canter being a decent center and Mcdermott being a shooter

That OKC offense is gonna be lethal Makes you wonder how the ball is going to move with Westbrook and Melo on the court If they would have gotten either Melo or George during the Durant era they would have looking lethal but the West is so filthy this year because that's another All Star the East lost

Wow, so if OKC can actually utilize the offensive talents they have along with their big men? Yeah, they have to be the favorites to dethrone Golden State in the West.
Seriously if OKC doesn't do it this year then something is incredibly wrong.

You have 3 iso players who have to learn to gel together but Golden State is still better than them Come playoff time having these players who can get their own shot will help in close games but I need to see them gel as a team because those 3 is a mismatch of players

I am just looking at it from an offensive perspective because providing they gel immediately they're the only ones to truly dethrone Golden State. Melo is still a liability on defense though.

In my opinion they still don't have enough spacing to match Golden State fire power. While you have Westbrook, Melo, and George on the court you still have Robertson and Adams who are non factors offensively on the court so teams will force them to make shots. You are not going to win any games with each of those guys getting 20 shots a game while the role players get 5 or less OKC strength was the fact they had 2 Centers so while they lose that big advantage, they do gain a little scoring. Someone is going to have to play the "Klay Thompson role" in regards to playing defense while possibly not getting a great amount of shots a game and that seems to be Paul George at the moment.

You read my mind about Paul George. He is the only one long and athletic enough to play that role as the defender of the team. It'll be interesting to see how they manage to gel together.

I think George will mesh in well because he's essentially playing for his next contract whether that be staying in OKC or going to L.A It depends on Melo. If Melo is willing to play the 4 than that opens up big doors because while he's not the greatest perimeter defender he is an underrated low post defender. My starting 5 for them would be Westbrook, Robertson, George, Melo, and Adams They will need to make a trade for a sixth man type player since Patterson and Felton are their best options off the bench

I will admit that OKC's bench is rather bad. Patrick Patterson, Raymond Felton, Jerami Grant, and Alex Abrines are the top bench guys. Yikes.
