So, they definitely look to be giving us Splatoon 2 and a new Mario game.

The cartridge based nature could be interesting. We have come a long way from the NES days of them, but can these new cartridges still keep up.
Hard to tell if this means no backwards compatibility or not.
Then there's the main sticking point: Price.
Still, I am very interested.
...but who am I kidding? I would have gotten it anyway.

As someone who never plays handheld games and never ONCE used the Wii U for remote play, I currently care f*** all about this system. I also haven't played a videogame with a friend in probably 10 years, so that aspect is completely lost on me today.
I'll probably buy it because I have to play Zelda. But I'll probably get into a big fight with my wife over it because the Wii U was mostly a dust collecting waste of money.
I might just wait to see how the Wii U version of Zelda compares to the Switch version. I'm also eagerly waiting to hear how virtual console games are handled. I'm not buying any of them again, and if there is no VC and no Wii U backwards comparability I might just write it off completely.

I'm down with the Switch but I think the lack of backwards compatibility will cause problems.
As for Virtual Console; since the Switch has a controller, could there be a GameCube controller peripheral made that would allow for GC VC at long last?
For price... I'm guessing $250. No disc reader, DVD/BluRay playback, and the console is built into a controller means that it won't be that expensive as what Project Scorpio will be later that year, but I need stuff to justify single player.

The Switch will be cartridge based Just thought of something interesting...what if it you let you download ALL of your games onto that one cart digitally? You could do it through the store or perhaps they would set up kiosks at places like GameStop to make them happy? It could also function as the demo kiosk and let them stock more for the other systems.

very cool, I do like that each half of the controller can be used as a separate controller (obviously that's going to be on a case by case basis)
It makes sense for Nintendo to do this as they dominate the handheld market, as long as it's priced right I could see this doing really well too...
I do vaguely suspect this is more in line with what they wanted for the WII U, as the main system is pretty blatantly still the Wii U gamepad

Not fully sold yet. Gonna have to wait for a few more details first. But this is definitely a game changer.
