Good for Ryder but I don't care and should be bodied by Rusev.

Hate to ask, but who the hell did Sheamus piss off to become an Ascension-level jobber?
Went from WWE Champion to forming the League of Numbnuts to jobbing to random individuals.

Good for Ryder but I don't care and should be bodied by Rusev. Yeah...count me in as one of the people who feel that he should have rightfully been given a huge push in 2011 and had his potential unfairly wasted by the WWE. It is completely their fault and Ryder was a victim of WWE's poor decision making logic. That being said, since then there have been far too many guys who have come up with more wrestling ability, mic skills, and natural charisma to have overshadowed Ryder and it's a shame for him. Rusev is just one of many guys who have a lot more worth than Zack and should easily go over him as such.

And in a few months WWE will have an idea for him and expect us to treat him as a credible threat. It's baffling how they only bother to protect like 4 people.

Hahahahaha. Someone has a video of Ryder winning. It's the best. mobile.twitter.com/ChrisKrieg37/status/750593984528080897/video/1"WOO WOO--WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT" AJ vs Enzo, what a strange match-up. They should give Enzo a "dangerous" finisher. He can talk but is always the dummy in the match, getting beat up. At least with a deadly finisher that would put him over as somewhat of a threat. About Snyder, why does he deserves a push, exactly? He's the ultimate CAW. Nah, he's the ultimate underdog. He works hard and is likable enough. The ultimate CAW was Alex Riley. So uh the Lesnar announcement? Quick aside but the funniest thing is that on the reddit thing someone titled a thread "SMACKDOWN SPOILERS - ZACK RYDER" and a ton of posts are going "Jesus I thought you meant he was Lesnar's opponent before opening the thread." ...Kind of wish we could pull the same bullshit here for giggles but I get the feeling that would break *some* rule.

I mean I'm sure there's technically ways to phrase that without sounding trickery and still tricking people, but I figure once we start to get into wordplay we're breaking the spirit of the rule if nothing else, so I'll stay away from that joke, funny as it would be.

Dudes had 6 years going in and out of the main event scene and he's never got over to a decent level. Why not give Ryder a chance at this point and use these useless ones to get them over.

You can do something with Riley. For one thing, he looks like a star. Ryder looks like a guy that spent too much time at the taning salon, put up together a style and ring gear that is a mix of different guys. Even with all the time he's put in the gym, his body looks awkward. He wrestles in an awkward manner. His moveset sucks and even his catchphrases "woo woo woo" make him come off like a retard. I'm all for underdogs but Ryder is this generation's Barry Horowitz. I think his only use should be as a heel comedic character. Where he thinks he's great but nobody else does.

They're both aight. Aside from hairstyle and 15 lbs, Zack Ryder and Alex Riley's general looks are not that different. Zack has a tan, but pretty much every white dude on the roster not named Sheamus tans to some degree. Zack's moveset "sucks" because he came up in an era where talent relations and developmental sucked in general. Many young guys came in to Deep South/OVW/FCW trying to chase a dream only to be poorly trained, thrown to the wolves with half assed "pushes" and then written off as "sucking" because they weren't "Next Big Thing" material. Zack is representing that entire 2006-2011 generation that got chewed up and spit out. He's the last hope of proving that era wasn't a complete waste of time.

I like Sheamus as a worker but at the same time have found him largely very dull the last several years. Pre-Alberto LoN and early Sheamus with hyper-enthusiastic fan in the crowd murking Jamie Noble, are pretty much the only times I've enjoyed him. His midget killer gimmick was...ok, but otherwise just meh.
That said, wouldn't have jobbed him to Ryder on Smackdown. I'd have done it on Raw, because atm SD doesn't have the same "it's canon" feel as Raw, and I'd try still protect Sheamus a bit because there's a talent of value there he's just not quite clicked. Pleased for Ryder finally getting a midcard push though, I could dig him winning a title.
Oh, and now I want someone to edit together Ryder being squashed for the WWE title, with this, to make it look like Ryder won the WWE title.

Sheamus would be helped a lot if he had kept up the more aggressive nature and focused character he had when he first came back last year, but instead that lasted all of about a month before being unceremoniously dropped to just turn him into the same languishing bore he was before. That being said once it found its footing the League was actually pretty entertaining, though of course it didn't last very long after that.
One other black mark on Sheamus is... He's been there for seven years but damn if it doesn't feel like it's been 15. Guy has just done everything there is to do multiple times over except be in a tag team for an extended period of time and WWE's rule in recent years seems to be that former world champions aren't allowed to even consider having the tag belts.

The highlight of last year's Sheamus push was when he grabbed the mic and started basically commentating his own beatdown of Zack Ryder. He should have been like that more often. Of course, now he went full circle and actually lost to Zack Ryder, and this guy was the WWE World Heavyweight champion eights months ago.
