Got it yesterday and love it! Already, my best friend and I went for a walk together (which we have never done before, despite living down the street from each other) to track down Pokémon. My little brother has talked to me about possibly going to a local Pokémon event being held here in Memphis for it. My mom is even amused by it, she actually told me to get out of the car when we were getting gas today so I could catch a Pokémon! I didn't because it glitched, but still. This app has some weird positivity power. It's cute how people are being with their memes making fun of players. It's like someone unleashed early 90's middle schoolers on Facebook. God forbid a game with cute little monsters makes people get off their asses and exercise and meet new people. Some people are just to easily ticked or annoyed by things that aren't even annoying at all. Its like those idiots on Facebook forming hate mobs for those croc shoes. I don't wear them, but they're just shoes! I don't give a crap if you think they look stupid, they're not hurting anyone! Anyway, the best part about this app is as long as they're careful it encourages people of all ages to be up and active. I hope to God Nintendo opened the floodgates for more fun stuff like this that can get people to socialize and be physically fit. Me and my kids have taken at least a two hour walk EVERYDAY since this game has been out....as someone who has major issues with that (I have Aspergers and BiPolar Disorder) this game is my damn lifesaver.

^My little brother usually stays on his computer most of his time. He's mostly a shut-in. He's recently played Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat with me and occasionally will see a movie with me, but its rare. I'm hoping the local event will be the start of him getting more active doing things more often with me. Its amazing just the little influence this game is starting to have on my life already within only a day!

I have a really hard time talking to people I don't know so the fact that I'm outside having full conversations with strangers is not something I ever thought I could do. This game not only gets you outside but its a huge conversation starter. Like yesterday I hit this stop near my complex and a guy just out of nowhere sings the first line of the OG theme song next thing I know I'm in a group of 12 people kids and adults singing this damn song....It was one of the few times I've ever felt I belonged outside of my family.

Yeah. Even with people who don't play its a good ice-breaker. I got a smile from this young black kid working at our KFC when I talked about it a little with him. I don't know that Nintendo themselves even realize the full potential of just what they created here.

Got the game today, lotta fun. Apparently I have to be in the city, not seeing any Pokemon around my town.

Like for real I have tons of Aspie friends that are actually getting out and getting to know people thanks to this! Nintendo can't know what they've done. Like all joking aside this game is helping people live better lives. From people like me and my friends with socialization issues to people who are using it as an encouragement to go exercise! This is an amazing thing happening.

I'm sitting on a couch right now with an incense. So far I've gotten 2 Venonats, 2 Weedles (One of which I evolved into Kakuna), and a Rattata. Not bad for not getting up.

Just walked around our backyard (we live on a ski-lake, so I took a lap around) and didn't catch a single damn thing. Then I walked out front to the PokeMart that is down the street. The only thing that shows up was a Pidgey. Most disappointing is that there was an Arcanine hanging out somewhere out front all day and I just couldn't get him to come out of hiding... I'm sad. I'm sitting on a couch right now with an incense. So far I've gotten 2 Venonats, 2 Weedles (One of which I evolved into Kakuna), and a Rattata. Not bad for not getting up. I tried to use my incense to draw out the Arcanine and it flung way off into the distance on the map. The timer didn't pop up and the pink cloud animation never started... I don't know what happened. Lol

Apparently PokemonGo put one of the objects in the parking lot of my county's prison. The sheriff's department took to FB and was NOT happy about that.

Of course, people not liking something that's popular and thinking too highly of themselves as a result is nothing new. I used to run our local Pokemon League over a decade ago. It's like deja vu. All I need is some Yu-Gi-Oh kid to punt across a parking lot and the Circle of Life will be complete.

Does the success of Pokemon Go prove that Nintendo would be better as software only?

This got me right in the feels.....a lot of people on my Facebook feed are mocking adults who play...this I feel is the perfect response to that.
