its really sadden me to see her get so much hate on here, I hope Bayley doesn't get the same treatment. Oh for god's sake. What hate has she been getting? Everybody's been talking about how they like her but there's also some criticism about her shitty booking.

Her whole gimmick is that she had good matches in NXT. Okay, not even just good. Fantastic. She has not on the main roster though and the promos haven't been stellar at all. I'm cooling off on her for now. I don't think WWE intended it, and I don't think they realize it, but they've actually handled Becky a lot better. Sasha certainly is miles better than Charlotte on the mic, and She had more than Ok matches in next, they were very good. Yes, I did say the matches were fantastic. That might have gotten lost in punctuation.

Good wrestler but her promos are not great. Like someone said it's like a fan playing wrestler more than anything.

I see a ton of talent in Sasha, but she has always come across to me as someone who is playing a pro wrestler. Her mannerisms, the way she speaks, everything about her character seems so forced. So much so that it's often distracting. I always see people say that her real personality is nothing like The Boss, so maybe that's the issue. Becky and Bayley feel like they're really those people. Sasha feels like a wrestling fan pretending to be a wrestler in her bedroom mirror. That's the thing for me too. The minute I saw her wrestle in NXT, I thought there was something special about her (I'd even put her in my top 5 in-ring performers in the WWE right now). I ended up following her on Instagram and Twitter...she has an amazing sense of humor and a really cool sense of style, and I think a lot of that is just lost with the Kanye glasses and "BOSS" thing. If they find the right look or maybe even, I don't know..."vibe" for her, they have something special on their hands.

In NXT it was subtly implied that The Boss character wasn't completely natural. Sasha and Bayley were both nice people that wanted to be the best women's wrestler. Sasha decided that in order to do that she'd have to go against her true nature and act like the boss, basically a "fake it until you make it" situation. That's great for a heel, you can hate her for being the boss or hate her for being a poser depending on how you view things. It then meant something when Bayley stayed true to herself while winning the gold.
That's all been lost now she's a face, now if people think she's unnatural it doesn't work. That's fine as that story was essentially over but because she's been off TV she hasn't been able to develop anything new to take it's place. Even little things like the way she'd get angry and make a mistake don't work as a face.
However regardless of her motivations she could back it up by being the boss in the ring. Lately she hasn't had the chance to put on great matches that make it all work. Hell it took her about 10 minutes just to beat Dana when she'd have won within two minutes on NXT. Little things like that undermine her as if she struggles to beat the protege then logic dictates that she'd have little chance against the finished article. Despite all that she's still great, she just needs to do something notable so she's not just coasting on her past glories, hopefully her match with Charlotte will do that.

I don't think the boss character works as a face, especially when she's playing it exactly the same as a babyface that she would as heel. If the boss character remains, some tweaking needs some doing. Other than that, I'm a huge Sasha supporter.

Excellent reading that's perfectly canon especially since the whole Boss persona happened because Summer Rae told her that her real self wasn't strong enough to cut it.

I like Sasha a lot but gotta agree with whoever said she comes off like a girl playing wrestler. Granted, that also describes a shocking number of people on the main roster right now (I'd even say the vast majority) so I guess it doesn't bother me that much.

We need Becky vs. Sasha in a big match soon. Both are rising as top faces, and I think doing a whole "this town ain't big enough for the two of us" deal could work.

I actually think she's evolved past the "Boss" character somewhat. Like being herself would get her even more over. Most main roster fans don't know the backstory behind her Boss character, which is very nuanced

Its very marketable obviously to young girls and the look just works for her.

I think the main issue is that she was growing in popularity in NXT and then, right after getting called up, had the Brooklyn match with Bayley. Since then, the fans have refused to boo her. Becky Lynch is easily the most likable woman on the roster so she should be the division's top face and Sasha should be the top heel. Charlotte can go away.
You could have had a face Charlotte drop the belt to a heel Charlotte towards the end of 2015 and then Becky dethrone Sasha. Or heel Sasha win the belt in the triple threat at Mania before losing it to Becky. Face Sasha isn't nearly as good as heel Sasha or face Becky.
And this is coming from someone who considers Sasha Banks his second favorite wrestler, behind AJ Styles.

its really sadden me to see her get so much hate on here, I hope Bayley doesn't get the same treatment. Bayley's got the same issue that Sami Zayn has for me. Her theme music. Once it hits, it just makes me so giddy and happy that I have to almost hum along to it. Not quite as serious as singing to Sami's theme, but it's close. Also, this really isn't an issue, but I just love to talk about their themes, because they fit so perfectly.

She's easily my favourite woman in wrestling right now, as a character and in-ring. But her in-ring promos are terrible. Charlotte gets a lot of hate for her promos here but I don't find her anywhere near as painful to listen to.
If Sasha can improve her promos, she'd be downright perfect.

You could have had a face Charlotte drop the belt to a heel Charlotte towards the end of 2015 So she turns heel on herself by costing herself the title by winning it and losing it at the same damn time? Dammit, Kevin.

She was one of the worst actresses in all of WWE when she started in NXT as the smiley rookie with the secret admirer, so she's done very well to go from that to someone who excels at playing her character in the ring, but her charisma is still very much physical rather than verbal. Unfortunately her character is one that really needs to speak confidently and frequently to be believable. She'll need to either up her promo game if she's gonna be the face of the division, which based on every other aspect of her performance she 100% deserves to be.
