In case anyone hasn't seen this yet.
We'll see if the cliffhanger was worth the wait.

In true Walking Dead fashion, I"m sure they'll screw it up.
However, for the sake of the show, I hope it's a major character.

I hope they don't do something silly like show Carol/Morgan's story first and then cut to Negan's lineup at the very end of the show. We will find out on the 23rd. They have stated many times that the first episode will immediately start off with the line-up and show what happened. Either this cliffhanger is going to bite them in the ass or if they do what you're afraid of then they're definitely going to lose more viewers.

From that sneak peek, it certainly seems like the cliffhanger was worth the wait.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is f***ing perfect as Negan, and that's much more clear in the 3 minutes of that preview than it was in last year's season finale.
Also, AMC put up a new promo for season 7 featuring the writers and producers talking about what to expect:

Oh god, I can actually see them doing that and leaving the reveal for the episode after. Then have it be a disappointment by killing off a minor character. The only way this is going to work is if it's one of the Big 3. Glenn, Michonne or Daryl getting killed off. None of the others will have the same impact.

Yeah, it needs to be one of those 3 but for some reason I have a feeling it's going to be Abraham. Don't get me wrong, I love Abraham but it will be a huge disappointment if it's not a one of the big untouchable characters.

Too much reference to his right hand, his hatchet, then off to the trailer...I think someone is about to be limited in counting to 21 from now on.

I went as Negan for Dublin Comic Con this year and got stopped by loads of people asking me "Who'd you kill?". I used it as an opportunity to do some unofficial polling. Two favourites are Glenn and Abraham.
Personally, I think it's either Glenn or Maggie. I'd prefer Maggie as I think it'd be more interesting and more shocking.

It's gotta be Glenn.
If they kill off a jobber like Abraham, guaranteed it'll be like "Lame. Didn't deliver." Vice versa, if they kill of an uber favorite like Daryl, it'll be outcry. Glenn is the median.

Problem with it being Glenn would be, Why do all this when the end result was pretty much the same as the comics?
Unless ofcourse it was just to get us talking in the off season or guarantee people would come back for Season 7.
Which I would have done anyway.

To swerve people out of the predictable nature of the scene in order to garner interest.

Well, that along with the fact that Rick's crew has killed many more of the Saviors than they did at this point in the comics. Almost to the point where Negan killing just one of Rick's people wouldn't be enough.

Since we've got a month, let's shift gears a bit. Anyone else still watching Fear The Walking Dead? It's definitely not as good as The Walking Dead, and you don't really care about the characters all that much. But the storyline is moving along and I'm keeping at it just to see what happens. Also, Alicia is hot. I just binged the entire season over the weekend there and not caring for the characters save for a couple is my biggest mark against it (Well that and extraordinarily stupid decisions by some characters) I almost made up my mind that I wasn't gonna watch it for Season 3 but damn that two part finale actually got my invested (Plus they killed off that character I really hated)

I quite enjoy Fear the Walking Dead. I used to really dislike the characters but I quite like Nick and Travis now. I was delighted when they killed off Chris, what a dreadful character he was.
It's a fun show though, I tend to enjoy it. I've seen some people complain that the "cover yourself in blood" thing is overused and lazy writing but, I think it makes sense to use it all the time. If I lived in Walkign Dead world and had that ace in the hole I'd use it every time I left the compound too.

Most casual watchers are expecting one death and I'll think they will get the obvious out the way which is Glenn. My prediction has always been Abraham because he's the muscle outside of Daryl and they aren't ready to get rid of him yet unless they want a riot.

If it turns out to be Aaron I'm going to laugh so so hard and then turn off the show, probably for good.

A big name needs to bite it, in my eyes, to justify the awful cliffhanger. That's Glenn, Darryl or Michonne. That's enough for me. I don't mean to sound entitled or anything but it really has to be one of the A Team. Otherwise why drag it out 6 months? And I like Aaron! Great actor, great character. It's just he's by far the least 'important' character of those in the line up, would be so typical of the writers to kill him off.

Well if it makes you happy I believe at least one major character will def die and to throw a wrench in it as far as the wait they will do something to another character whether it be cut off ricks right hand or even have another character close to death.
