Berman and Jackson retiring at the same time seems fitting. I know the show is not canceled, but to me it just won't be the same without these two.

Ya know, I really miss THAT Berman. The whole 1999 video was amazing. They changed a lot. The show became a cultural phenomenon. I remember hating late games that went long (which often meant OT or close late games) because it ate into my Primetime watching. Like, appointment TV doesn't even do it justice. If you missed it, you f***ed up.
Honestly, I still can't believe they sold the exclusive right to a highlight show out from under ESPN. ESPN did TONS for the exposure (or over-exposure, rather) of the NFL and Primetime was arguably THE vehicle of the NFL that most fans and casual fans latched onto. And they weren't hurting for money at all. And NBC hasn't done shit with the rights. Who even watches their show?

Okay Berman, that's a little overboard. Even College Gameday Final no longer worth watching I miss Rece, Mark May, and Coach Holtz. Yeah, May and Holtz would say stupid shit, but they were entertaining. Rece was rightfully promoted, the dude deserved it, but the guy that's replaced him sucks.

Joey Galloway was terrible last year Joe Tessitore may be a good commentator (whatever if it's Boxing or football) but Tessitore and Galloway are no Davis, May and Holtz and that's my verdict on them

Davis and Holtz are my shit. Holtz brings quite a bit of credibility, and he's like America's grandpa. Davis is just fantastic. May is knowledgable, but always came off as a smarmy asshole. Regardless, Galloway and Tessitore in no way measure up, even though I like Tessitore. I also just don't like change. I'm sure years from now, I'll be comparing someone else unfavorably to Tessitore, as is tradition.

One thing that NFL Primetime did- they made the highlights of even meh games awesome.
They made 90s Bengals game highlights entertaining.

Best sports-related music ever? When that one song hit, you knew it was about to go down.
They created such an atmosphere for the biggest sport. You knew it was big, but you didn't know how hard it was to recreate that until it was gone and there's nothing like it anymore.

Mark May. Good lord. The fart-ripping worst.
"Michigan State will win the national championship."
*fails to even have a winning record*
Just one of many examples. What a self-absorbed tool.

Hell, that music even made 1990s Bengals highlights watchable- and that was when the Bengals were so unwatchable week after week.

Who can forget the Creamsicle Bucs from the NFC Norris Division in the Bay of Pigs at the Big Sombrero?
They made even highlights of the most meh games must-watch.
NFL Primetime was must-see TV for a long time- it makes today's highlight shows pale in comparison.
In an era before DVRs, unless your team was playing in the late game or it was compelling, you didn't want to miss Primetime.
Except for the occasional 30-minute Primetimes during October and baseball playoffs (in which sometimes it would be sped up), the highlights for each game didn't differ because of the teams.
Unless it was an epic, it never felt like the game highlights of top teams were blatantly different from lower-tier teams.
They made 90s Bengals game highlights entertaining
