Well, I saw the last two sketches at least. SEASON 44 IS OVER!
See y'all for season 45. I'll try to make updates if anything exciting happens (new cast announced, somebody quits) during the summer, hopefully this doesn't fall into the archives before September.
PEACE!

Kind of a mixed bag of an episode, but the good skits were really good. DJ Khaled's musical performances also show that the best thing about them is the people he gets to do the performances with him, like Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, SZA, and John Legend.

Pretty fun episode to close out the season. Paul Rudd is always fun no matter how good the sketch actually is, and I really loved DJ Khaled’s performances. The highlight for me was definitely my new favorite recurring character: Judge Jeanine Pirro. Her spot plus the jokes Colin and Michael wrote for each other killed me.
Now we head to the off-season and I wonder which random cast members will be let go/leave. Something is telling me it could be people like Aidy and Kyle.
Oh and that song on the “Ms. Jackson” beat was fire.

Weekend Update continues to carry the show. That was fantastic. And the "What wrong with this picture" game show was also pretty good. Other than that, not great.

I felt like such a moron, I couldn't see what was wrong with the first picture. I thought it was going to be something about how a woman doesn't need a man to help her on a swing or something. Totally missed the rope 😂

Weekend Update was insanely good this season. Like, Colin and Michael have done a solid job more often than not since they started their run, but they were on their A game this season.

Anyone see the WU skit on Red Nose Day?

Pete Davidson What a complete tool Really. Like, he's not funny, he looks like a strung out weirdo, and he acts like a f***ing fourteen year old. His sketches aren't funny, his Weekend Update segments are just him ranting about his messed up life, and nothing he does on other shows is funny either. If SNL was hoping he would be the next Eddie Murphy or Jimmy Fallon a.k.a. "The young guy that will make it big," he ain't it.

I enjoy Pete's Update pieces. *shrug* Same. I don't think he's a great cast member, not really all that memorable. But his self-depricating humor in the WU segments are pretty entertaining. But he does keep himself in the headlines a lot, which isn't to include his mental issues which should be a private matter but you know the American media.

That's really weird. Of all the headlines I thought I would read, I never considered hearing about Lorne pressure someone to have sex in exchange for services in the entertainment industry. And I NEVER expected that person to be Chris Kattan.

get that it's an error, but says in the article that the Roxbury thing happened in 1989 which is like 7 years before he even joined SNL, little things like that bother me, that it hasn't been checked

I hope Pete's ok.
Although, being brutally honest here, he's sort of getting into ShaolinHandLock territory. Eventually, he's the one who has to get him whatever help he may need. (For those interested, that ShaolinHandLock guy still tweets on Twitter so he's still around, just no longer on this site.)

What up, SNL fans?! Figure I'd bump up the ol' thread because SNL has been nominated for some Emmys (or is it Emmies)!
At any rate, the show is up for:
-Outstanding Variety Sketch Series -Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Kate McKinnon) -Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series (Don Roy King, for the episode hosted by Adam Sandler) -Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series
The awards ceremony will be held on September 22nd and air on Fox, so tune in and see if SNL takes home the gold!

Has Kate won an Emmy yet? Two, according to Wikipedia. Good, she deserves it. Been one of the bright spots the last few years on SNL.
