My brother posted this to me, it was the list of WCW contracts. Not sure if this has been posted here. Interesting stuff, minus a lot of the luchadores and the very low end of the card, people were making pretty good money across the board. Looks like most of them got bought in 2000, so that would explain the high year. sites.google.com/site/chrisharrington/wcw_contracts

it says Rick Rude earnt $297,305 in 2000 anybody know a reason for this, where they just been nice and paying the rest of Rude's contract off.
Also because of licensing deals, Giant and to a lesser extent Chris Jericho did pretty well from wCw after leaving

I remember there was a lawsuit by a bunch of minorities complaining that they weren't being paid the same as their Caucasian counterparts.
Bobby Walkers reasoning for termination is kinda funny. Its just fun in general to see WCW's rationale behind paying people less.
My understanding is that WCW lost the suit and had to pay the wrestlers. I also read an article about one of the wrestlers using that money to lure aspiring female wrestlers into prostitution.
Still amazes me to see how much some guys made despite only being a detriment to the product.

According to this site, Kevin Kelly/Wacholz/Nailz was under WCW contract in 1998/9, they really did love wasting money.

Anybody else get "Major League" vibes reading that list? "I never heard of half these people; the ones I do know are way past their prime." "Some of these guys never had a prime." it says Rick Rude earnt $297,305 in 2000 anybody know a reason for this, where they just been nice and paying the rest of Rude's contract off. Considering Rick passed away in 1999, I hope that was a nice gesture. Or, they probably forgot he died. (This IS WCW were talking about.)

That's some insane money right there but very well justified. Today's wrestlers work for peanuts compared to these contracts.

Many of the names are developmental/enhancement talent, if you looked through documents detailing the past 4 years of the WWE you'd get an equal number of 'Who?' names.

Slightly on topic but I've always wondered why The Radicalz were allowed to appear on WWF TV two weeks after they were released by WCW. Did they not have a non-compete clause? (because two weeks isn't really much of a time period to insert as a clause) Or was it a case of their releases were different than the norm, in that they could appear where they wanted when they wanted? I know Benoit went to Japan during those two weeks but did he actually compete there or was it just a holiday?

Why were Hogan's earnings so low in 1997? IIRC he was Champion (give or take a couple of weeks) for the entire year.

Damn you for posting this, I've spent way too long reading it. Just noticed, Bobby Duncum actually owed them $1 in merch for the year of 2000 despite only being alive for 24 days of it.

This is the company that once mailed Jericho an empty Fed Ex envelope, mailed him a cheque for $0 and 0 cents, and apparently used to buy airline tickets for every last wrestler under contract to every last show. Nailz was cheap by comparison.

I know Benoit went to Japan during those two weeks but did he actually compete there or was it just a holiday? The story I've heard is that the Radicals wanted to leave if Mike Graham and Kevin Sullivan, among others, weren't removed from the booking team. Graham approached Benoit about it and threatened harm on Benoit if he got fired because of him (I've even heard Graham pulled a knife on Benoit). This threat gave The Radicals enough leverage to negotiate unconditional releases from WCW.

Damn, IRS was right. Even in death, you must pay your taxes. (I know, I shouldn't have said that. I'm a bad person.)
