I'm not gonna join the Creative Sucks bandwagon as I think Zayn has been treated insanely well throughout his entire WWE career thus far. I wouldn't be surprised if he challenges Balor for the Universal title post-Summerslam.

He should have gotten Apollo Crews spot on SummerSlam. Absolutely, at Extreme Rules Miz only won because of Sami letting his hatred of Owens distract him from getting back in the ring, and pinning Cesaro. Logic dictates Sami would be the one to dethrone Miz, but nope, they're on different brands now.

Rusev/Sami would have been fun, or Sheamus/Sami at the SS kickoff show
Think he's getting protected more and more in the past months, a good sign that Vince likes him

I still think he should've been the one to face Rollins for the Universal Title at Summerslam, not Finn...it could've played off his momentum of his big win over Owens & let Finn work his way up instead of getting this match right away.

This makes a ton of sense. I guess they just wanted to make sure and debut Balor as hot as possible, but Zayn had the momentum and could've easily been slotted against Rollins at Summerslam.

I guess it's not the end of the world, but he was really on fire after that match. The hottest he's been on the main roster. He's hot as hell, and they can't teach that.

According to my casual fan friends, he feels like a forced Daniel Bryan copy without the catchphrase or charisma or the goofy sense of humour. But yeah his character is essentially as presented as a guy who likes ska, is a well travelles veteran, and hates Kevin Owens.

As like Owens, he's floundering until they can find something worthy of his character. It's sad but true. Personally, I'd move him and Owens to SD and let Owens be in the main title picture while Zayn enters the IC title picture. Zayn can lose a qualification match while Owens can win one which sets up their feuds.
Either way it's a lack of usage.

More of that "No character coming out of NXT" problem. His NXT motivation was "I love NXT and want to be the best here and represent this small division". Ok cool. You were the heart and soul. That worked. Then KO came and his character became "I hate KO and have to beat him". Alright now we're getting somewhere. This feud can be turned off and on whenever and we can use this while building up both guys.
Well NXT ended with Nakamura. Then his only defining characteristic left was "I wanna beat KO". Then he did. So now what? Where's the building? No motivations. No laced through storylines. No relationships with other wrestlers positive or negative to feed off of. He's just here as an employee showing up to work and putting on matches now. That's a poor character unless you're Lesnar.
He's KO window dressing. A prop piece. A widget in the corner to tell a KO story with. They failed Sami by not giving him real purpose outside of the much larger KO bubble.

I blame the guys in the back not knowing what the hell to do with somebody as hot with the crowd right now as Sami Zayn. I think him and Cesaro should be on Smackdown right now. You'd think after Daniel Bryan they would learn that organic crowd reaction can lead to some true underdog babyface characters, the fact they haven't learned a damn thing is actually terrifying. They learned from Bryan, just not the lessons people hoped. What they took away from their experience with Bryan has lead them to try and keep the crowds Lukewarm on the similarly likeable Zayn so they won't rebel when he's used to put over this generation's Sheamus equivalent in seconds at a PPV.

This is going to happen with all the interbrand PPVs, same as it did before. Some folks will be left off that normally wouldn't, just due to limited matches available to accomodate 2 full shows of feuds. I'm sure he'll be on whatever the RAW specific PPV coming up is.

There was no reason for Zayn to stay on Raw. He has no current storyline and the Owens thing is now played for the time being. I don't get the entire IC division really. All of the guys feuding with Miz ended up on Raw, while Miz has no real opponent on SD (hence the random Crews thing). Owens also has no real direction, hence the pointless feud he's in with Jericho against Enzo/Cass.

He has wrestled former world champions the past two Raws he was on so they are keeping him high profile. Feels like while he dosent have a Summerslam match he will be in a big fued immediately afterwords.

After the Zayn/Nakamura match last NXT Special, I hope Zayn does an umpromptu match at tonight's Brooklyn PPV just to have something to brag about since they totally left him off the Summerslam card. How does the MOTY candidate not get a match at the Summerfest?!!?

I'm perplexed by the decision to put the U.S. title on Raw and the IC on SD. Miz could be a fun secondary heel champ with guys like Zayn and Cesaro chasing him, whereas Rusev doesn't especially make sense against anyone on that midcard title level (hence the Reigns feud). On SD Rusev could just dominate for a while as U.S. champ.
Basically Zayn needs to chase Miz and IC title. Unless there's some plan for Zayn/Rollins for the Universal title coming out of SS, but either way I doubt we're done with Rollins/Balor. The fundamental problem with Raw's various title scenes is that Rollins/Balor doesn't remotely seem like a main event feud, while the U.S. title feud seems much more like two guys that should be fighting over the world title.
