Sorry, Merc, but it was Tony Eason. If anything, they should've started Grogan. Maybe they would've lost by only 20 instead of 36. Meh I was only 7 years old.

Sheesh, whatever happened to just sucking up a loss?
I swear, everytime someone's team loses, it's a conspiracy theory. Or they have a million excuses as to why they lost. As a Raider fan, I'm not new to losing, but that doesn't mean I can't like the team. Just suck it up. .

This game wasn't rigged. I had Vick and Crumpler in my Fantasy league so i wanted ATL to do well. Like them or not, the Saints actually have alot of talent this year. Brees, McCallister, Bush, Horn and an improved defense. They played hard and i think that crowd at the dome really played a factor. You could see the look on the Falcons faces that they were overwhelmed by it all. I wouldn't want to play the Saints at home. They won't win the Superbowl or anything but perhaps a wildcard spot.

The best thing about being a Patriots fans is listening to people whine everytime we win and act like they just won the Super Bowl everytime we lose. Hysterical.
They won 3 Super Bowls because they played smart and always found a way to win. No fixing needed.
When will Oakland let the Tuck Rule fiasco go? It's a real rule that doesn't get called very often. It's done. Get over it.
And I can't even begin to explain how happy I was to see the mighty Michael Vick get dominated like he did last night. The man defines 'overrated'.

It wasn't just Vick's fault, even when he threw good passes they weren't caught. I'm not a huge Vick fan but The Falcons as a whole just didn't show up last night. That's not taking anything away from the Saints though. They played a good game.

You've got a point about New Englanders. They can be quite obnoxious when it comes to sports. But since I only watch football, I don't put myself in the same boat. I was just happy to see the Patriots finally win one.

I made this thread about 30 seconds after the blocked punt for a TD about a minute and a half into the game. I didnt yet know the final outcome, so im not an angry fan because "my team" lost. In fact I hate the Saints and I hate the Falcons because I am a Carolina Panthers fan and seeing as how both those teams are division rivals, I have no love for either.
But, I stand by my statement. The NFL rigged this game for the Saints to get a win. They spent weeks building up the Saints return to the Superdome. For the last week we've been seeing all these videos about New Orleans, the Saints, the storm, the people, the destruction, the rebuilding, ect. Probably half the people couldnt have even told you who the Saints were playing. This was never about a game, it was about publicity, for the NFL, the city of New Orleans and the Saints. The Falcons were an afterthought. I honestly believe that the league and/or ESPN made some form of offer to the Atlanta Falcons organization to maybe go a little soft and make sure "the right thing" is done. You can tell me what you want, but it isnt going to change my belief. There was no way the NFL and ESPN were going to waste all their buildup and a sold out Superdome to a Saints loss. I laughted anytime the announcers said something about how you couldnt script it any better.
Plus, they blocked a punt AND a FG in the same game. This isnt college football, that dosent happen in the NFL. So your telling me that an offense that ran all over 2 good defenses(Carolina and Tampa) with Vick and Dunn, and a D that did a very good job, just all of a sudden falls into submission to a defense featuring a couple Cowboy castoffs at linebacker and rookie safties? I can't buy it.
It was already obvious the league set the Saints up to go into this game undefeated, with their first two games being against the Browns and Packers, two of the most hopeless teams in the leauge last year and into this year as well(although the Browns showed some signs of improvement this week.)
Believe me or not, I dont care. It was all about publicity, and Vince McMahon himself couldnt have done it better.

Um, I don't think the Garden could hold another hockey or basketball banner. My apologies if I don't weep for you... Thats why they knocked down the Garden and built the Fleet center to make more room ;D Actually, back in the Garden days, the Bruins used to have all their conference and division championships on individual banners as well, banners that looked just like the Stanley Cup ones. But when they moved to the Fleet, they condensed the conference and division championship banners on to two separate list banners... so theorhetically, the Garden held more banners . Although they are lucky the Celtics condense their retired numbers on to just two banners; the C's have so many retired numbers that, combined with the 15-man roster and NBA number restrictions, a new player joining the team has a choice of about 10 numbers total.
