Not saying it's a perfect solution, but I imagine there will be a third-party cable or adapter to fix that. Some sort of pass-through plug or something. It's a problem caused only by Apple wanting to screw consumers into using its proprietary connector type. Hopefully there will be an affordable third party fix because I'd hate to give Apple more money to fix the issue. (though they probably get a licensing fee anyway) Just putting this out there, but it's not as if Apple is the only company to eliminate older ports in favor of newer ones. Many laptops don't have Ethernet ports, and a lot of them now are removing regular USB ports in favor of USB-C, with an external adapter being needed for regular USB stuff (other ports like HDMI and even power will end up being USB-C as well).

It also comes with an adaptor in the box with every phone Well that makes it only mildly inconvenient rather than completely. Don't see how doing away with the headphone jack helps anyone but Apple. It's Apple they love messing with their loyal fanbase. From making the keyboard cable on the Apple IIgs proprietary, then they stop making the computer in under 2 years. To all the stuff they have done since. I haven't seen a reason yet to get one of Apple's overpriced and limited smartphones yet. Already got a much better camera than they will have in the phone, got a GPS that is great,no need for internet access on my phone when I got my laptop. Sorry this old man is a bit cranky today. Gonna go outside and find a cloud to shake my fist at.

159$ for some stupid AirPods that most people will lose on the first weeks
Take out the jack port to expand battery > uses bluetooth instead
Nice logic
Water resistance? Welcome to at least 2013-2014

Despite being an Apple user since the iPhone 4, I'm sceptical.
The wireless earbuds would save me money based on the number of times I've ruined headphones by getting the cable caught in something as I'm walking past it, but those things are just begging to get lost.
Sharing a port with the charger is gonna be a pain too, since I listen to stuff a lot while charging.
Thankfully, I've got two years to wait and see how it pans out as I only just upgraded to the 6S last month. If the new changes don't win me over its gonna be a tough decision on my next upgrade, as I f***ing loathe using Android phones.

And Apple is not even the first to do away with the headphone jack for a multiuse port. They are just the biggest and be the one that will drive the market. This leads to complaints until people actually use the product and then they no longer care about the change.

My new laptop has a multi-use jack. Kind of annoying but hopefully I can figure out how to use the bluetooth with my caveman understanding of technology.

My contact ends next year, so I'll probably save my money for the supposed Anniversary Edition iPhone.

My computer doesn't have a DVD drive or ethernet port because Apple decided that computers should do without it. I hate this.
So no, I'm not going to support the lack of headphone jack, adapter or not. Because not all innovation is a good thing.

I switched to android last summer when my upgrade was up, and I have regretted it ever since. I loved the LG G3 I had through work when the iPhone was my personal phone, so I switched to the G4. I am now waiting for my third G4 to arrive because of this stupid internal issue that verizon will not assist with. I can't wait until next summer so I can go back to apple.

I'm eligible for a new iPhone in May, so I plan to hold off until then. By that time, I'll probably be able to walk right in and buy one. I'll check out the Apple Store on launch day, just to see how long the line is and then be thankful that I'm not in it.
No headphone jack? Eh, I'll get used to it. I use my current iPhone to listen to podcasts, but all my music is on my iPod Classic. I suppose I could keep my 6-Plus as a second music player, but I plan to trade it in so I can get a discount on my new phone.

Apple needs to fix their software above anything else. iTunes is completely broken.

Apple needs to fix their software above anything else. iTunes is completely broken. Problem is that Apple wants you to use the phone standalone (i.e. not connected to anything but an Apple Watch), so they'll never be bothered to fix it. That's really Apple's biggest issue, they want you to do things Apple's way, regardless of if you want to or not.
