I also enjoyed playing as Street Fighter in Street Fighter.

When it comes to fighting games, I'll take DLC characters over having to buy another $40-60 game with said new characters added in a revision. Or buying another expensive cabinet if I was an arcade owner.
It sucks, but fighting games have been doing this shit since the early 90's and Street Fighter II Championship Edition.

Oh, Ubisoft! Europe's EA equivalent has split The Division 2 across six special editions, a recurring habit of a company desperate to make all of the money in the world.
But how does Ubisoft's promise of free updates mesh with DLC, season passes, and half a dozen special editions? Awkwardly, friends. Awkwardly.
That la ruina guy is a little bitch

Not content to exploit their customer base for money, EA now wants to exploit them for lobbying to allow them to exploit them for money:
F'ing Hell, how do these people have such a total lack of self-awareness? I mean Christ, to be so greedy, so desperate to scrape up any little bit of extra cash - because let us not forget that it's not about them making a profit, it's about them making extra money for no extra investment - that you'll try and get people to rally to strong-arm nations into changing their laws to allow you to farm Gamers for your infinite money machine? Do they not realize how f'ing abhorrent they make themselves look? Are they seriously not even trying to avoid PR damage any more? And what makes them think that after the Battlefront 2 shitstorm, people are still going to support loot boxes?
I just hope there won't be enough of the idiots who never question anything corporations tell them, or seem to believe that they are owed any amount of money they want, or genuinely believe that said corporations know what they want better than they do, or don't understand the difference between supporting a company and letting it get away with f'ing you and everyone else over, to make it work.

Wow 2K's reaction is all kinds of precious, isn't It? I live how these companies are all like "Well we disagree with this interpretation of the law" as if they have anyone the could actually appeal to about this. I bet any Belgian judge they challenge on this tells them to rightly get f***ed.

Wow 2K's reaction is all kinds of precious, isn't It? I live how these companies are all like "Well we disagree with this interpretation of the law" as if they have anyone the could actually appeal to about this. I bet any Belgian judge they challenge on this tells them to rightly get f***ed. This whole "interpretation of the law" thing is just hilarious and further highlights how EA has no idea what they're talking about because, as one Belgian commenter on the video pointed out, it only serves to show that they understand nothing about Belgian law, or even how European cultures act, really. There's no "interpreting" the law, there's the law, period. If you think a ruling is being unfair to you, you can appeal it, but in Europe, you can't play armchair lawyer and try and petition to have the law not apply to you. Also "contacting your local government" isn't going to do shit in a European country. Local "governments", as their name implies, only have authority over - gasp! - local matters. They have no influence over national laws. Basically, 2K is telling Belgian people to call their mayor to tell them they want loot boxes in their sports games. Needless to say, said mayors' reactions would doubtlessly be "what the f*** are you even talking about and what would you expect me to do about it if I knew what that was? Now if you'll excuse me, I've got road construction and housing plans to oversee". At best they might petition their parliament (which, I cannot stress enough, isn't "local government") to try and get them to repeal gambling laws entirely. And let me tell you, there ain't gonna be enough people in Belgium with enough of a passion for being f***ed by greedy corporation to cause the kind of pressure that would result in laws affecting several industries being removed. So I'm glad that, thinking about it, even if there were enough idiots following them that it could cause a change in the US, ain't gonna happen in Europe. So yeah, on top of everything else, we have some classic "everything MUST work just like in the US, right?" ignorant assumptions.

This pretty much sums up EA's decision:

I knew that was coming the moment he badmouthed Shenmue... Even though he was pretty much 100% dead on with his criticisms. It's why Shenmue has always had the love or hate reputation. Some people like the ungodly amount of busy work in the game, or can at least overlook to see the artistry that IS there.

"2K Games has called premium currency and microtransactions an "unfortunate reality" in gaming.
Overwatch and NBA 2K19 had to remove loot boxes in Belgium. EA refuses to remove loot boxes from FIFA. The "AAA" excuses and justifications are flying thick and fast, and 2K especially is showing its royal rump"
I wish something would happen to these greedy pricks

I don't see this ending very well for EA. I doubt anybody is willing to lobby for them. Hopefully just the opposite and it embolden other countries to take the same steps to outlaw these flagrantly predatory practices.

The CEO of Take Two comes off like a complete scumbag. He is; dude justified the extreme amount of monetisation in GTA V but saying that they're giving away so much content that they'd be losing money. You know despite GTAV being the bestselling game of all time and everything being money-gated so much that a F2P player will never be able to use anything that is released because the money you gain from activities is slowed to a trickle and most stuff costs so much that you'd need to grind for weeks just to buy one thing.

I will be forever grateful to the people of Belgium if they were the ones to finally topple EA Taking on the government of Belgium in order to try to make a quick buck. I see this ending up the same as when Digital Homicide tried to sue Valve

Was just coming in here to mention this since I just heard about it myself. The greedy pricks brought this upon themselves.
