The last real test for Gonzaga tonight before the tournament Honestly, only their second test behind Arizona. Gonzaga always plays a weak schedule, benefits from it and them loses early in the tournament. Gonzaga is so f***ing overrated, its not funny. They'll be lucky to reach Sweet Sixteen. And I want IU's season to end so quickly. This is painful.

Just looking at Grayson Allen and Mike Krzyzewski makes me want to throw up. A punk bitch and a fraud. Remind me to avoid ESPN for the next three days. They'll be gargling all over Duke more than f****** usual. Allen is a douchebag. He's just the type of guy who you instinctively want to punch in the face. Krzyzewski is the real deal Holyfield though. One of the best ever, easily. Of all the unlikable Duke basketball products over the last 25 years, Grayson Allen might be the most unlikable. Not only does he have that look about him, he's also a dirty player who can't seem to help himself when it comes to tripping opposing players or putting them in harm's way and only receiving a one-game slap on the wrist for it. I can't help but feel like if college basketball were in a better, more prominent place in the sports and pop culture zeitgeist, Allen would be among the most reviled athletes in all of sports. He'd far surpass where Christian Laettner was - and Laettner had an entire documentary made about how much people hated him.

Tonight, the Uconn women face off against South Carolina, Uconn is going for their 100th straight win but South Carolina is trying to be their best Kevin Nash tonight on ESPN2, we'll see how it fares against Raw This feels like the most farcical achievement in athletics. UConn has never really been challenged over the past few years, they just go out and recruit all the five-star talents and bring them onto their team. It's not like there's this deep pool of standout women's high school basketball talent that could be spread across the country, unlike the men's game, there's just a handful of elite talent and they all just migrate to Storrs. I don't know, maybe I'm just projecting and maybe this is all stemming from the fact that I worked with all UConn graduates at my last job and they were insufferable about the women's team. But there seems to be nothing joyful about the UConn women's basketball experience. They just tip the ball off, pummel the JV-quality opponents by 60, and move on to the next game. When is it ever fun when there's never a challenge?

The NIT, the consolation prize tournament for those who don't make the NCAA tournament bracket, will be used as a experiment to reset team fouls every 10 minutes for each half

When is it ever fun when there's never a challenge? I wholeheartedly agree with you, bro. There is no competition. The talent pool in women's basketball is so thin, that, at most, there's 6 A+ stars, & all go to UConn. The other major programs either get A- or B players, & the rest get sloppy seconds. It's no fun to see total domination. Even the New England Patriots are vulnerable, but that's an unfair comparison because the talent pool is so much deeper in the NFL.

Don't get me wrong, he's a total douche and is one of the most punchable guys in sports (with Brad Marchand and Richard Sherman, meaning he's in the elite of the elite.) But it's the Duke thing. You compared him to Laettner, who was there at the start of the Duke media frenzy. Allen will never be as hated as Laettner simply because he will never be as good as Laettner.

It pissed people off that Laettner in college was as good as the media hyped him. He didn't need to play as dirty as he did to be an all time great college player, but he played that dirty. Also Allen hasn't hit the mainstream like Laettner did.

Also Allen hasn't hit the mainstream like Laettner did. Nothing Laettner did was nearly as dirty as Chris Paul punching Julius Hodge in the balls, and Paul barely caught any national flack for that at the time, much less now when it's ancient history. Laettner as a dirty player is overrated. 80% of the Laettner hate is based on him being an all time great in college. 20% is just him just being himself, which is a douchebag. But if he was a douchebag who couldn't play, very few would care. Basketball "dirty" in itself is overrated. Allen is the dirtiest player in college, and all he does is the same bitch move over and over again. Has anyone ever seen a basketball fight that you were like "Man, they gotta break this shit up!" I've seen like 3 in the history of basketball, and one of them was Kermit punching Rudy. Which I still think is a punk move. But for the most part, these guys are wimps and nobody is really in any danger.

Even the New England Patriots are vulnerable, but that's an unfair comparison because the talent pool is so much deeper in the NFL. And that's the whole issue I have with UConn women's basketball. Anytime I bring up how bored or uninspired I am by their farcical winning streak, I'm met with criticism like, "Oh, you must not like watching basketball the right way," or "You're a Patriots fan, you can't complain about dominant teams." The key difference is the Patriots actually lose games and there are other teams in the NFL that are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. There's no one in UConn's galaxy. They're going to win the women's tournament and there might not be a game within 30 points in the process. If the Patriots went 16-0 every season since 2013, won four consecutive Super Bowls, and never had a final score within 28 points, then maybe there would be a comparison. But with how dominant UConn is and with how every other team, from no. 2 in the country down to the bottom of the barrel, stands no chance of even hanging with them, how are they good for the sport? How is that entertaining for UConn fans? Doesn't it stop being fun after a while when you can just tune out the game about 10 minutes in when the girls are up by 20?
