Old one hit 100 officialfan.proboards.com/thread/537889/official-comic-thread-rebirth-civilTalk about all them picture books with words here. Anyone got a subtitle have at it in the thread and I'll swap in my favorite. ---- A presence lurks in the Comic book thread... and out of the darkness... Mister Pigwell holds up his gauntlet... Wielding the power of the infinity stars he rewrites reality and transforms this from merely "The Eleventh Comic book thread" Into... the official Comic Book MEGATHREADSUnlike lesser threads will continue to thrive well past page 100, because MEGATHREADS scoff at petty things like page limits. Other MEGATHREADS will be created at the sole discretion of the Mods, DO NOT Start one yourself. Please continue posting as normal.

www.comicsbeat.com/the-state-of-the-industry/I wonder if the problem of selling comics at Barnes and Noble is the brick-and-mortar aspect of Barnes and Noble. In Canada, it's cheaper to buy collected comics as trades, hardcovers, and omnibuses from the Indigo Chapters website than to do so by physically going into the store. Of course, comics are only a part of the inventory that Barnes and Noble and Chapters Indigo carry, whereas at DM shops comics are the main item for purchase, although other items to buy--toys, posters, t-shirts, whatever--are often also comic book-based. Like I said in the last thread, there's more to comics than the LCBS, but the diamond in the rough when talking about it being rough when dealing with Diamond is that there are plenty of avenues to promote comic books and comic book reading. Here's another piece from Comics Beat about comics within the public library system, which maybe doesn't get mentioned enough in regular conversation. www.comicsbeat.com/report-graphic-novels-are-big-in-libraries-and-schools/

So, assuming that the 2017 Justice League of America follows the style of a separate team, who are your picks?
Frist name's got to be Martian Manhunter, right?

Gwenpoole {Spoiler}Miles is responsible for Gwen's first apprehension, and her identity is now public knowledge. Gwen is rescued by her partners in crime, but she's starting to regret her current lifestyle. Miles did hope she would get "better" one day. I like these two, I hope they interact again, it's certainly makes for a cuter and more complex relationship.

Superwoman {Spoiler}Lois remains dead and the cover of issue two does tie into the story, as Lana has a nightmare about Lois being dragged down into the pit of skulls. Steel's niece turns up and devises some new Insect Queen armour (named after an old Silver Age alter-ego of Lanas'). Steel and Lana team up to battle Atomic Skull, who claims Lexcorp's supervision of the prison he comes from had begun experimenting and torturing them. Steel is concerned because he has family members at the same prison.
Lex is abducted by the Ultra Women and taken to their leader...it's Lex's sister Lena

Stegman identifies this character as "Oliver" Who's Oliver again? Is that Harry's second kid over in 616? I know his first name's Stanley, is Oliver the middle name? (to go with the "Stan and Ollie" joke?)

I must ask you guys this.
Are they any superheroes dumber than the comic strip version of Spider-Man? Because if they are, Lord save them.

I must ask you guys this. Are they any superheroes dumber than the comic strip version of Spider-Man? Because if they are, Lord save them. The bit this week where Pete sent Lang in to wake up Jameson while he sat on the roof wondering just what the price tag was on the penthouse was glory to the max. In answer to your question, 616 Spidey is dumber. At least Daily Strip Peter knows better than to publicly unmask and the only time he's been single in the last 29 years he's been married is 'cause he dreamt it

To me, it's unintentional comedy, especially with Jameson having a shotgun next to his bed. Thanks for answering the question.

Half the time I think the writers know exactly what they're doing, there's no way this stuff isn't on purpose. Mary Jane even made a joke about the number of times the baddies in the strip have tried making her their queen
They make for better reading when they're all collected together. I thought the Doctor Strange arc this year was better than anything in the main books, I enjoyed it in an unironic way. 2015 had some good stuff too, like when Black Widow was MJ's stunt double
