Read the 3 issues of The Silver Scream series today. This early 90s series reprinted,in b/w,pre-code horror stories. I think they were all from Harvey. This same company, which was owned by the Harvey company, planned on reprinting piles of old Harvey stuff. Like Black Cat and the Man in Red. I guess they had money issues cause the only stuff that actually came out, besides the 3 issues of Silver Scream, was 1 issue reprinting early Sad Sack stuff. ANyways these reprints are prety good. With lots of pre-70s comics I prefer them in b/w.Since the color work back then wasn't that great. If you enjoy horror comics and want some cheap reprints The Silver Scream is a series to search for. Also read Vault of Doomnation #1. This was from the 80s b/w boom and published by B-Movie Comics. Decent interior art and ok stories.

Just wanted to say that IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog continues to be great. They haven't really gone into world building yet, but there hasn't been an issue I've disliked yet

IDW Sonic is really good, but this depressing Zombiebot storyline should have ended months ago.

Catwoman#17 sees Selina given a villainous new outfit by a Lazarus Pit (I'm not joking). She rationalises why she left Bruce (big deal, we know she reconciles with him sometime after) and meets up with Zatana. Book really is awful at this point and is nothing but a vehicle for editorial mandates and creative constrictions brought on by King's run.
Superman#17 was full of talking heads as per usual, Lois continues to hold back information from Clark in an attempt to protect him from Luthor. Despite losing so much like Jon, Jor-El, and Sam, the Kents are still holding it together but you can tell the pressure is mounting. What will life be like for them when the greatest secret they share becomes public? Oh yeah, and welcome back New Krypton.

Hopefully Norman's hair will be the only unsettling grooming we see in this series.

Black Cat Annual#1 was great. A perfect middle finger from Marvel to DC for fowling up the Bat/Cat Wedding with a fun Peter and Felicia caper {Spoiler}{Spoiler}It's perfect in how ambiguous the wedding is so both sets of 'shippers 'win'...they didn't use their real names in the ceremony, but they are legally hitched now..and that won't affect Peter and MJ, as Felicia reminds Peter he's got her waiting at home and she won't stand in the way of that. She calls him her favourite superhero and kisses him goodnight on the cheek. It's probably the cosiest Spidey book of the year, in a year that's been littered with them.

I think that's a creative decision that someone like Kevin Feige is going to put the kibosh on...

Re-reading the Image published Normalman trade. Pretty sure this collects every appearance of Normalman. FOr those that don't know...Normalman was created by Jim Valentino back in the 80s. He was the only person on his planet that didn't have super powers. So his parents put him in a rocket and sent him to Earth.
Basically it was Valentino's way to homage and also make fun of lots of comic tropes. It's a great series that seems to be forgotten. This trade is fairly cheap and the only drawback is I know some of the Normalman stuff in this trade was published in color, but the trade is all b/w.

Leviathan ISSSSSSSSSSS {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Mark Shaw: Manhunter
And apparently there's another Leviathan series coming in 2020, by Bendis. The biggest mystery of this whole thing is: what the point of this whole "event" was. A serialised mystery isn't much of a mystery if none of the clues lead up to anything substantial. It'd like reading Sherlock or Poirot, and the murderer is revealed to be... someone who wasn't even in the book to begin with. Maybe there's some good stuff that can come out from this, but what a nothing of an event this whole thing seemed to be. Bendis blows.

While I feel the reveal was underwhelming, I’m willing to give them a chance. Event Leviathan is clearly a starting point for bigger things going forward, rather the the culmination of a story. How this one is remembered is going to be heavily dependent on the fallout. It was a failure as a mystery story, but it was still a decently interesting story in my opinion. We’ll see how it goes

We’ll see how it goes I feel like regardless of how things play out going forward, it doesn't change the fact this was 6 issues of a whole lot of nothing for a big reveal that probably would have read better if they just came out and used the reveal as a "WTF" cliffhanger rather than trying to convince us how important that identity was before.

Married under a different name/identity or not, he’s now legally married to another woman. Don’t see how Mary Jane could possibly handle that well and not make Peter guilty of bigamy if he tries to marry Mary Jane.
